12. Chapter 11

Author's Note: Hey everyone, I just wanted to thank you for your continued support of my story! I am really enjoying writing this and am super excited for where it's going to go. For this chapter I am not really sure what is going to be in it as of writing this AN. I know I am going to do at least the first day of Hestia's training, but that is probably it. So I have no real clue as to whether or not Percy will be starting the Lightning bolt quest yet. If you think Hestia and Percy's relationship is progressing to fast, just think about how Hestia would feel. Being ignored for thousands of years, nobody really caring about your existence nor acknowledging you. Then suddenly a charming young man comes along and gives you what you had been wanting for thousands of years, affection. Imagine how fast you would develop feelings for that person. I know I have experienced something similar. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this next installment of Percy Jackson and the Game of Life!

Last Time~

"That is alright. I can just tell Chiron and Luke I am training by myself or something." I said, thinking about how to go about that. "Well, you had better go to bed. It is getting late and I would hate to have my first champion eaten by harpies." She said smirking. I looked up at the sky and cursed quietly. I quickly stood up and said my goodbyes, before running towards the Hermes cabin.

Now (That night)~

Dream Beginning

I stood on the edge of a massive opening. Looking down, all I could see was a darkness thicker than the blackness of space. Screams echoed from inside the monstrously huge cavern. "Tartarus," I whispered to myself, shivering at the very name. Suddenly my dreamscape began rumbling. "Free me demigod, help me and I shall grant you anything you wish. Power. Fame. Women. Name your price and it shall be yours, as long as you help me get my vengeance!" A hoarse, malevolent voice came from deep inside the pit. A voice I would never forget, as it was the cause of all my pain and suffering. "Kronos," I whispered in a hate filled voice. Another rumbling, this time resembling a chuckle. "I see you know who I am half blood, then you know of my might. Help me get revenge on the gods, and I shall make you the ruler of an entire nation!" My grandfather said. Hate boiled up inside me. I tried to hold it back, but failed miserably. "I will NEVER help you! I am going to be the one to destroy you!" I snarled back at him.

Everything silenced, before a harrowing laugh echoed from inside Tartarus. "You think you can stop me little half-blood? I AM THE KING OF THE TITANS BOY! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT AN INSIGNIFICANT SPECK OF DUST BEFORE MY MIGHT!" The fallen king's voice bounced between the walls of my dream world. I felt even more rage build up. "You think I speak nonsense Grandfather? I will show you what I speak of." I responded with just as much hate as him. I could feel his shock at the knowledge of my parentage. I began condensing mana inside of my body. My body positively vibrated with energy before I released it with a mighty roar. His roar of shock and rage were the last thing I heard before I woke up with a start.

Dream End

I woke up in a cold sweat, nearly hyperventilating. Whether it was from rage, fear, or both was unknown to me. I had closed my eyes, trying to calm myself. Even after everything I had been through, Kronos' aura still chilled me to the bone. I guess that is what happens when you are as powerful and evil as he is. I looked around the cabin, making sure nobody else woke up to my flare of power. Apparently, It was mostly in my dream since nobody was awake. I knew sleep was not an option for the time being, so I decided to look through my inventory.

3 Skill Scrolls huh? Wonder what is on them. I thought to myself and pulled them out of my inventory. Three small scrolls appeared in my hands. I put two down and looked at the remaining one. It looked like the ancient scrolls you see in movies, two rods with bulbs on each end, keeping parchment wrapped around it. I started opening it and a screen appeared in front of me.

This Skill will absorb your Running Skill, replacing it. This skill allows you to move at speeds faster than almost all humans. This skill can evolve at higher levels.

Mind's Eye Lvl- Max

This allows you to enter a mindspace containing all your knowledge. You can review anything that has ever happened to you. Similar to Photographic memory, except instead of just recalling something you can re-see the entire event. Inside your mindspace time is slowed to a crawl, allowing you to spend a lot of time thinking while not much time passes in the real world.

Super Speed and Mind's Eye are both useful skills in their own right. Super speed will make me three times faster than I am right now, while Mind's eye will allow me to review knowledge even better than photographic memory, as well as giving me more time to think. But Mind's Eye seems like something I could unlock from Wisdom or Intelligence anyways. But Super speed… hmm. I know what to get then. After a minute of thinking it over I clicked on Super Speed.

I clicked yes and immediately felt a change. It was hard to describe, like my entire body becoming stronger, like muscles growing rapidly. It was over in a few seconds and I got a new pop up.

I grinned widely, throwing the other two scrolls into my inventory for later. I quickly put on some clothes and snuck outside. I crept around the cabins, sticking to the shadows whilst looking out for harpies. A few flew overhead but kept on going. A few minutes later I ended up at the beach, safely away from the Harpies' patrol range. I even got a skill level up for it.

Stealth Lvl- 8(2%)

This is your ability to sneak and creep about undetected. Blend in with the shadows, strike and vanish into darkness.

16% Chance to go undetected while sneaking(+2% per level)

Dismissing the screen I inhaled the sea air, feeling my whole body relax. I stayed like that for Chaos knows how long, smiling up at the moon. I felt at peace honestly, I could feel the tide ebb and flow. It was almost as if I was the tides, just for a second. I felt all the water around me, and I could feel a small string, connecting me to an object in the sky. Then it disappeared, snapping me out of my trance-like state. I looked at the water in confusion. I had never felt anything like that in my old life. I didn't feel all powerful or anything, just like I was connected to… "Strange. Anyways, time to test my new skill." I said out loud. Getting into a runner's stance I activated my skill. "Super Speed". I whispered and took off. Immediately everything around me blurred and sand kicked up behind me. My stomach dropped and wind whipped by me. Adrenaline began coursing through me at a rapid rate as shouted in joy. I had never felt so free, moving this fast was amazing! I don't even need a car anymore, since I am almost fast enough to just run on a highway myself. I pulled up the Super Speed Skill to see how much progress I had made in the short run.

Super Speed Lvl- 1 (54%)

Dear Chaos! It went up 54% in a 15 Second run! I screamed inside my mind. Then, I smiled. This just means I will get faster. I looked down at my hand. This time will be different. I will destroy Kronos with my own two hands. But I need to be faster. A lot faster. I got into a runner's stance once more and began speeding around camp.

Next morning (After breakfast)~

I showed up at the dock to find Hestia waiting there. Instead of her usual brown robes this time she wore blue jeans and a camp half blood t-shirt small enough for her new 12 year old frame. She noticed me coming towards her and smiled. "Good morning Percy." She greeted. I returned her smile with one of my own, happy to see my new friend/aunt. "Good morning Hestia. So where are we going to start training?" I asked. She gestured towards the forest. "Inside the forest, it is far more secluded there, and I will be able to block out the other Olympians' sight. That way nobody besides us will know. Come, I found a spot last night." She said. I just nodded and trailed behind her. As we walked she turned her head to look at me. "You look tired, have a late night?" She asked curiously. "You could say that…" I said pulling up my Super Speed.

"What were you doing last night if you don't mind me asking? It wasn't anything… inappropriate was it?" She said, smirking a little. I gave her a confused look then… it hit me…. "Oh gross! Come on Hestia!" I shouted embarrassedly, unable to keep the blush of my face. She giggled but turned and kept walking. I just watched her back as we traveled. I quickened my pace to catch up to her and stopped when I was next to her, walking in step with her. "I didn't know a maiden goddess could be that dirty. So what's gotten into you?" I asked her, bumping her shoulder with my elbow. She blushed slightly and shrugged. "I honestly do not know, I have never felt this… comfortable with anyone before. Although, nobody has really tried to be my friend before. Either I am ignored, or too highly respected for anyone to act normally to me." She said looking with a downcast gaze. I put my hand on her shoulder and she turned to look at me. As soon as I saw her teary eyes I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her into my chest. "Don't worry Tia, you won't ever be alone again. Not as long as I am around." I told her softly. She sniffled and looked up at me. "Tia?" She asked with a cute sniffle. I smiled down at her. "Yes, Tia. I figured you could use a nickname as well." Her cheeks turned bright gold and she buried her face in my face. It was a few seconds later when she pulled away from me, a light golden blush still adorning her face. "A-alright lets go. We are almost there." She said and continued walking in that same direction. I once more followed close behind her.

A few minutes later~

We arrived at a decent sized clearing in the forest, next to the river that split the entire forest in two. Hestia opened her arms and turned around to me. "Here we are. I already set up a barrier so no prying eyes. We can train as much as we want here. Now get ready." She finished holding up a palm in my direction. "Get ready for.. WOAH WHAT ARE YOU DOING" I yelled dodging a fireball. Said fireball exploded before it hit any trees, as to not anger the nymphs. I whipped my head around to look at her. "What the hades!" I screamed. She just smiled at me. "This is training Percy. Now try and use the powers I gave you to either absorb my fire, or redirect it. Or you know, you could just dodge a lot." She said letting loose more fireballs.

I quickly dodged, refraining from activating Super Speed, since I wanted to use it as a surprise attack. I activated PyroKinesis made her fireballs fly past me.

Not knowing how to absorb them like she said I just redirected them. I kept dodging like that for another minute, continuously redirecting fireballs.

This continued on for another 6 minutes before I ran out of mana. I collapsed onto the ground exhausted and covered in sweat. Hestia walked up to me and offered me a hand. I took it and she helped pull me up. "Jeez you tire fast. You need to improve your stamina." She said.

Cost- 96Mp per minute (-2 Mp per level)

The dodging caused my dex to level up, and the fireball redirecting leveled up pyrokinesis. So at least I am getting benefits from this. I turned around and registered the stream behind us. "Hey Tia, I have an idea." I told her. She looked at me curiously as I slowly walked towards the stream. I saw a few naiads wave at me. I returned the gesture and they giggled before swimming away. I stepped foot into the water and felt it crawl up my body, revitalizing me.

All negative status effects have been removed! Health and mana have been restored by 100%. Title Son of Poseidon Has been activated! +2000Hp, +1000Mp, +20 Str, +20 Vit, +20 Dex.

Health- 3,300/3,300

I looked up at Hestia and smiled at her. "I think I can go on for a bit longer." I said. She smiled back and training began once more.

Author's note: Sorry guys, Personally I think the quality of the chapter deteriorated a little. I took a break for a few hours since I was very tired when writing the first part, then I just could not get super motivated to continue. Although in the end I am happy how this turned out. I hope everyone is excited to see where Perstia is heading!
