"How do you….?"
"I know everything Ms. Moore. I've known for a while. Just be there for Mr. Callen."
"I will Hetty."
"Goodnight," Hetty spoke with a smile.
"Goodnight."
So Hetty had known about her and Callen for a while now, but the fact that she hadn't brought it up sooner was good, it meant they were able to keep it out of the office and that Hetty approved of their relationship. Zoë went home and waited for Callen to come home. She decided to give him some space right now, knowing he would come home and talk to her.
"Hey G," Zoë spoke from the couch as Callen walked into the house carrying a movie projector.
"Hey Zoë," Callen replied as he put the projector down on the coffee table.
Zoë stood up from the couch and pulled Callen in for a hug as he did the same to her. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I will be."
Callen just held her for a second, it was a comfort holding her in his arms right now. He was really glad to have her in his life, especially now. Normally he would turn away from everyone at a moment like this but it felt nice to have someone right now. Zoë pulled out of the hug and gave Callen a soft kiss.
"It's gonna be okay," Zoë told him. "I'm here for you."
"I know, and I'm glad."
"Did Arkady tell you anything?"
"Yeah he told me he knew Reinhardt. Arkady helped refugees start over in America and Reinhardt was one of them. He told Arkady he owed his life to a Russian soldier, my father. Reinhardt agreed to keep track of me and my sister until my dad could join us."
"But he never did unfortunately."
"That's why he let them believe he was my father, to repay the debt."
"Do you know what happened to your father?"
"Hetty said that there was a major in the KGB by that name but he was sent to a labor camp, after that there is no record of him."
"We will find out what happened to him," letting Callen know that they were in this together.
"Yes we will." Callen gave Zoë another kiss.
"What are you doing with the movie projector by the way?"
"Deeks found a roll of film amongst the pictures."
"Do you want me to watch it with you?"
"If you would."
"Of course."
Zoë went to hung up a sheet as Callen went to get the projector started. Together they sat down on the couch to watch it. They saw a man with a little boy on the movie.
"Is that you?" Zoë asked.
"Yeah it is," Callen replied, tears already forming in his eyes.
Callen watched the movie with tears in his eyes. His sister was there too and they were playing together. Callen looked into the box and found a piece of paper in it.
"моя семья," Callen read from the paper.
"What does that mean?"
"My family."
That was Callen's family on the screen, his father, his sister and him. Zoë placed a comfortable hand on Callen's knee as they watched the video. Finally Callen had some pictures and video from his family. Zoë saw how emotionally Callen got just by watching this video, but this video meant the world to him. Finally he had some more answers.
"It's nice that Reinhardt kept them all these years, hoping that either Nikita or you would come looking for him."
"Yeah it is," Callen replied with the tears still in his eyes.
Callen just kept staring at the screen, even though the video had run out.
"It will be okay Callen, we will find out what happened to your father." Callen turned his head Zoë's way as she spoke. "No matter what happens, I'm always here for you."
"I know you are," Callen smiled a little at her. He really was glad that she was here.
Zoë crawled close to Callen and snuggled against him as Callen wrapped his arm around her. "I'm sorry he didn't turn out to be your father, but there's still hope that he's out there somewhere and if he is, we will find him."
"Yes we will."
Callen gave Zoë a soft kiss on her head and just enjoyed having her in his arms. They just sat there for a couple of minutes like that.
"I should get up and make something to eat," Zoë spoke after a few minutes. Callen kept quiet so Zoë lifted her head up and looked at Callen. "G, we need to eat something." Callen didn't respond. "G?" Zoë called again.
"Huh? Yeah sorry," Callen replied, shaking out of his thoughts. "Yeah we should have some diner. How about we just order in tonight?"
"Sure, that's fine."
Zoë ordered something online as Callen looked through some of the pictures he had found at Reinhardt's place. Callen was leaning forward on the couch so Zoë snuggled up to him and placed her head on his shoulder as she looked at the pictures with him.
"You're really cute as a baby," Zoë stated.
"I guess," Callen replied a bit absently.
Zoë felt bad for Callen, just as they thought he would be close to having some real answers, it slipped away from him again. But at least he has some missing pieces of the puzzle, the rest would hopefully follow soon. Zoë got up from the couch and retrieved an empty photo album from the closet.
"Why don't you put the pictures in here?" Zoë suggested as she placed the album on the table. "That way they are safely kept."
Callen looked hesitantly at the album. Normally he would just put them in his box but perhaps it was good to put them in the photo album. He got up from the couch and retrieved the other pictures he had gathered over the years from his box to add them to the photo album as well. A little later the delivery guy showed up and they enjoyed their dinner. They just had a quiet evening on the couch before going to bed. Callen was lying in bed looking at the ceiling when Zoë joined him. Zoë crawled close to him and laid her head down on his chest. Callen was startled a bit by her, he was so lost in thought that he hadn't noticed her crawling into bed. Callen wrapped his arm around her as Zoë looked at him.
"It's gonna be okay G. I know today was a lot for you but it's gonna be okay. We can handle it together."
Callen looked at her, how did he get so lucky to have her in his life? "Thank you for being there for me today," Callen spoke sincerely.
"Of course, I'm not going anywhere. I'm always here for you no matter what."
"I know." Callen looked her deep in the eyes and moved a couple strands of hair from her face. "I love you so much."
Zoë could see the passion in his eyes. Zoë crawled closer to Callen and kissed him. "I love you very much too." Zoë gave Callen another kiss before she snuggled against his chest.
It didn't take long for Zoë to fall asleep but Callen was wide awake. He kept thinking about all the stuff that had happened today, once again the Comescus had been after him. Would this ever be over? At least Zoë was hurt by them, he would never forgive himself if Zoë got hurt because of this vendetta. After lying awake for hours, just thinking about everything, Callen quietly got out of bed without waking Zoë. He walked towards the living room and went to watch the video again.
About a half hour later Zoë woke up and she noticed Callen wasn't in bed anymore. Worrying if everything was okay with him Zoë got out of bed and went to look for Callen. She found Callen sitting in the living room looking at the photos with the video playing in the background.
"Hey," Zoë spoke softly.
Callen looked up as he heard Zoë's voice. "Hey."
"Couldn't sleep?" Zoë asked as she walked up to him and sat down next to him on the couch.
"No, not really."
"You wanna talk about?"
"No, not really." Callen leaned back against the couch and Zoë leaned back next to him and placed her head on his shoulder. "I don't know what to talk about. So much is going through my mind right now."
"I can understand that. Just know that I'm here for you if you wanna talk."
"I know and I will, just not yet."
"Okay."
Zoë snuggled close to him and wrapped her hands around his arm, letting Callen know she was here for him no matter what. If Callen wasn't going to bed she would stay here with him. It didn't take her long to fall asleep again though. Callen looked next to him and saw that Zoë had fallen asleep. Callen picked her up and gently put her back in the bed. He looked at her lying in their bed and he realized he should probably get some sleep too but he didn't know if he could. He went to the living room to clean up before joining Zoë in the bed. Zoë lay with her back towards Callen's side so Callen crawled up against her and placed his arm around her. He snuggled against her and lay her head down next to her.
"Mmmm," Zoë moaned in her sleep and she snuggled closer against Callen.
Callen gave her a soft kiss on her cheek and he attempted to get some sleep. When morning came Callen had actually managed to sleep for a few hours. Zoë was still asleep next to him. Quietly Callen got out of the bed and put his running clothes and shoes on. He figured going for a run would clear his head. Callen starting at a slow pace but he quickly went faster, letting his frustration and anger out, which he didn't know he held in him. He ran towards the beach and sat in the sand for a while, just looking out at the ocean, before running back home. He felt better than he had yesterday. The run really cleared his mind. He was determined to find out what had happened to his father and if he was still alive, his father who had a name now. He did wonder why he got the name Callen and not the name of his father, Reznikov. Perhaps they thought that Callen would go better in America than Reznikov and that was probably true back then.
When he got home Zoë was sitting on the couch.
"Hey," Callen greeted as he walked into the house.
"Hey you, did you have a good run?" Zoë asked, she had seen Callen's note that he was out for a run.
"Yes it was good, cleared my head."
"That's good. So you're doing better than yesterday?"
"Definitely," Callen spoke with a smirk as he walked up to the couch. "Much better."
Callen leaned in close and wanted to kiss Zoë but Zoë stopped him. "You're all sweaty."
"So….?" Callen replied with a smile.
"Go shower first," Zoë replied with a smile.
"What if I wanna kiss you first?" Callen spoke in a flirtatious tone.
"Tough for you," Zoë replied with a smile.
"No, tough for you," Callen spoke and before Zoë realized it Callen had planted her with her back on the couch and he was lying on top of her.
"G!" Zoë spoke in a warning tone but her laughing kinda ruined the effect.
"See, I told you, tough for you."
It was good to see Callen this way again. The run really had cleared his mind.
"Oh you."
Before Zoë tried to push him off Callen quickly planted his lips on hers and kissed her and he immediately felt Zoë kissing him back. After a while Callen released her lips and kissed his way down her neck.
"Oh my god, you really do stink of sweat," Zoë spoke in a laughing tone.
Callen stopped kissing her and looked her in the eye. "Yeah, you're right, I should probably have a shower first," Callen spoke as he got up from the couch.
"Yeah, and now I stink of sweat too."
"You could always join me in the shower," Callen spoke with a smirk and Zoë knew that that had been his plan all along.
"Hm-mm. So that's what you were getting at?"
"I have no idea what you mean," Callen answered with a smirk.
"Oh, you are so terrible and so in trouble."
Zoë got up from the couch and wanted to go after Callen but he was faster and already on his way to the bathroom. Zoë caught up with him in the bathroom and Callen quickly pulled her towards him and kissed her again as he started taking her clothes off. Zoë followed suit and took Callen's clothes off. When all their clothes had been removed they stepped into the shower and Callen turned it on. Once the water was hot enough they stood underneath it. Callen picked Zoë up and pushed her against the shower wall. Zoë wrapped her legs around him. They just stood there for a few minutes just kissing each other, letting the other feel how much they loved each other. After a few minutes Callen stopped kissing her and rested his forehead against Zoë's.
"Thank you," Callen spoke to her.
"For what?"
"For being there for me."
"You're welcome. I'm always here for you."
"I know and I feel so lucky to have you. I don't know what I would do without you."
"I'm not going anywhere."
"I know. I love you."
"I love you too."
Callen kissed Zoë again, more passionately this time, before moving his lips towards her neck.
Zoë moved her hand in between them and sought Callen out. Callen bit down on her neck a little bit when Zoë grabbed him and started pleasuring him. Her hand felt so wonderful on him, Callen realized he needed to do something, otherwise this would be over too soon. But just as he was about to do that Zoë pulled out of the embrace and dropped to her knees as she continued pleasuring him. Callen couldn't think straight as Zoë pleasured him. This had been his idea and he was about to tease Zoë but now she was teasing him and she was damn good at it.
"Oh Zoë," Callen moaned.
Zoë felt that he was almost there so she applied a bit more pressure and just like she had expected it didn't take long for Callen to finish. Once Callen had regained his breath he pulled Zoë up and planted her against the wall again. Now it was his turn to tease. Callen gave her one more kiss before his lips moved down south and Callen dropped down on his knees as well. Zoë was in heaven as Callen worked her. He was so good at this but she always enjoyed the 'main event' the most. Sooner then she would've liked Zoë finished already. Callen got up and kissed her passionately and slowly to give her a chance to catch her breath. After a few minutes Zoë hoisted herself up and wrapped her legs around Callen's waist as his hands went to support her bottom. Callen kept kissing her as he guided himself inside of her. It felt so good to make love to her, this was exactly what he needed right now. Knowing that Zoë was here with him and that she wasn't going anywhere. They started off slow and passionately but not long after that the craving got the better of them and they were going at it hard and fast, harder and faster than they ever did before. But it was what they, especially Callen needed at this moment and Zoë didn't mind. They kept going at it and at it. Zoë had lost track of how long they were already standing in the shower and how many times she had reached her peak already. Callen turned Zoë around, so she was facing the wall, and he continued his movements. It felt so good what Callen was doing, she never wanted it to stop. Callen started pleasuring her, getting her ready for another peak. This one felt it was gonna be the best one of the day, it felt so big, so good.
"G!" Zoë screamed as Callen gave it all to her.
Her whole body was quivering and she felt Callen's body beginning to quiver as well. This would be it, this was the release they had been building towards. Zoë moved her body back against Callen's, wanting to get the best of it. Both of them were moaning and screaming uncontrollably as they reached their biggest peak of their love making. Callen slowed down and stopped moving when he was sure they peaks had subsided. The intensity of their love making came out now and they both couldn't stand on their legs anymore. They slumped down together against the wall, Zoë resting with her back against Callen's chest.
"Oh…. my….. god," Zoë replied once she had regained some breath.
"That…. sums… it up pretty well," Callen breathed out.
They looked at each other and couldn't help but laugh at the state they were in right now. Zoë turned around so she was facing Callen and kissed him sweetly.
"I love you G."
"I love you too Zoë."
Zoë gave Callen another kiss and nestled herself against his chest as the water continued to fall over them.
"I'm not giving up on finding my father, but I'm not letting it consume me," Callen spoke after a while and Zoë looked him in the eye. "If I do that I won't be able to enjoy the life you and I have and I don't want that to happen. After yesterday I realized what's most important in life and I don't wanna have any regrets. My mom and my dad didn't have that chance and I don't want the same thing to happen to me, to us. I will keep looking for my father, for answers but I'm also gonna enjoy life, enjoy my life together with you. I feel so lucky that I have you here with me. I love you Zoë."
Zoë looked Callen in the eyes and she knew he meant every word of it.
"I wanna enjoy my life together with you as well. I'm always gonna be here for you, helping you find the answers in any way I can. You're not the only one who is lucky. I feel pretty lucky to have you in my life as well. You've come a long way from the partly broken man you were when I came to work at NCIS. You are not that man anymore. You, G Callen, are a wonderful man, a wonderful agent, a wonderful partner and a wonderful boyfriend. Your parents would be proud of the man you've become, I'm sure of it. I love you too G."
Callen pulled Zoë towards him and kissed her passionately, letting her feel what he had just tried to express in words. She was right, he had grown a lot since he started at NCIS. He was more open and more trustworthy towards others and Zoë had played a big role in that. She had allowed him to open up, to see that the broken parts of him were just a small part of him, that he was so much more than just that. She had proven to him over and over again that she wasn't going anywhere and after everything that had happened in the past couple of days Callen really realized that and right now would be the start of a wonderful future for them.
