Zoë knew she couldn't let them get on that plane and fly off but she wasn't an agent. She wasn't trained for situations like that. She hoped the agents would be here soon. Zoë tried to figure out her options, what she could do to keep that plane from taking off. Just as she starting thinking she heard the screeching of car tires behind her. She looked behind her and saw the agents coming up on the runway at high speed. The man that was holding his gun on Zoë now pointed it at the car and started shooting. Without thinking twice Zoë ran up to the man and kicked the gun out of his hands.
"What the hell!" The man yelled at her as he turned to her.
The man was easily a foot taller than Zo and much heavier.
'Oh crap', Zoë thought as the man moved in to try and grab her.
One of the other bodyguards came out of the plane and starting shooting at the fast approaching car. Suddenly there was a shot heard from the other direction. Nell had come out as well and shot the man in the doorway of the plane making him go down. Nell moved closer and she aimed her gun at the man that Zoë was trying to fight.
"What the hell is going on?" Pak yelled to the pilot inside the plane. "Just take off!"
"I can't, there are people too close to the plane and the door is still open," the pilot responded.
"Federal agent! Let her go!" Nell yelled at the man who was fighting with Zoë.
The agents had come close as well and they had gotten out of the car.
"You heard what she said! Let her go!" Callen added.
The man moved to grab Zoë in a chokehold and grabbed another gun from his pants and aimed it at Zoë.
"Lower your weapons or I'll put a bullet in her!" The bodyguard yelled.
"Not gonna happen! Let her go and you lower your weapon!"
Pak yelled something from inside the plane to his bodyguard in Korean and the man moved backwards towards the plane with his arm still around Zoë. Zoë looked towards Callen and Callen looked back at her. Zoë gave him a slight nod, hoping he would understand her message. Callen nodded back towards her. Quickly Zoë sunk her teeth in the man's arm and he loosened his grip on her. This was what Zoë needed to duck out of the way. As soon as Zoë ducked Callen took the shot. The guard fell down on the floor. The guards were down but there was still the matter of Cooper on the plane with Pak. Sam moved inside the plane.
"Federal agent! It's over Pak!" Sam spoke to him with his gun pointed at him.
Pak stood in the aisle with a gun on Cooper.
"It's not. You're gonna get off this plane and let me fly away or I'm gonna but a bullet in her."
"That's not how this is gonna go down."
"Oh yes it is!"
Suddenly the pilot came out of his cockpit and pulled his gun on Sam.
"I'd do as he says," the pilot spoke.
"And I would lower my weapon if I were you," Callen spoke, appearing in the doorway.
The pilot looked Callen's way and saw Callen pointing his weapon at him. The pilot moved his gun towards Callen and was about to shoot him but Callen was faster. He shot the pilot making him go down.
"It's just you and me now Pak! Let her go!" Sam stated.
Sam knew it wasn't likely that Pak would shoot Cooper, he still needed her. Sam didn't have a clear shot at Pak, Cooper was in the way. Kensi had made her way into the plane via the cargo hold and moved up behind Pak. Sam spotted her but Pak had not.
"I have a shot Sam," Kensi whispered over the coms.
Sam moved to lower his weapon and Pak dropped his guard a bit and Kensi took the shot. Pak released his grip on Cooper as he staggered into one of the seats. Sam quickly walked up to him and cleared him of his weapon. He was still alive, Kensi had shot him in his arm. Kensi came up too and checked on Cooper.
"Federal agents, you're gonna be okay Jemma," Kensi spoke to Jemma.
Jemma slightly nodded. Realizing that everything was now resolved inside the plane Callen turned his attention back to Zoë. Deeks and Nell had taken care of the bodyguards outside, they were both dead. Callen walked up to Zoë and wrapped his arms around her tightly and Zoë wrapped her arms around him.
"Are you okay?" Callen asked concerned.
"I'm fine, I'm fine," Zoë reassured him.
Callen released her and cupped her face in his hands. "I'm so sorry I put you in harm's way."
"It's okay, I'm okay. Honestly, I'm okay. I promise. He didn't hurt me much."
"Good." Callen moved towards Zoë and gave her a soft kiss before pulling her in for another hug. They wrapped up at the scene and went back to the office.
"Good work everyone, Pak is finally going down. I just got off the phone with SecNav and she told me to applaud your hard work on this case and for bringing in Pak," Hetty spoke as everyone walked into the building.
The agents finished up their reports before everyone went home.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Callen asked as they walked into the house.
"Yes I'm fine. It was a bit scary for a moment but I'm okay."
"Good. I couldn't have handled it if something had happened to you."
"I tried to do what I could but I was glad when you guys showed up."
Callen wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. "I'm glad we got there when we did."
"Me too."
Callen closed the distance between them and kissed Zoë. Zoë wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. It felt good to kiss her right now, it was what he needed right now. Callen had been so worried about Zoë when she had to move in to stop Pak. Luckily it had all worked out and Zoë wasn't hurt much. He hated putting Zoë in that position, as the team leader he perhaps took the right decision since she was closest to the scene. But as her boyfriend he didn't took the right decision. Callen released her lips and rested his forehead against hers.
"I love you," Callen stated.
"I love you too," Zoë replied and they looked into each other's eyes for a while. "I'm gonna get started on dinner."
"I think dinner can wait," Callen spoke with a smirk that made Zoë go weak in the knees.
Callen quickly reunited his lips with Zoë's as he began backing her up towards to the bedroom. Once inside the bedroom he picked Zoë up and Zoë automatically wrapped her legs around him. Gently Callen lowered her down onto the bed and he lay down on top of her. He was beyond relieved that Zoë was safe. He needed to make love to her right now, so that he knew for sure that she was still here, still safe.
Callen moved his lips towards her neck as his hands started to undo her clothing. He took his time worshipping and loving her before he pushed himself inside of her. They were in pure heaven as they made love, it felt so good. Callen started slow and passionate but soon his desire got the better of him and he moved against her harder and faster. Zoë's nails were scraping his back but he couldn't care less.
"OOOOOHHHH G!" Zoë moaned and screamed as Callen moved even faster, harder, deeper.
She didn't know how much more of this she could take. He was fulfilling her every need and desire and the way his lips nipped at her neck only added to her fast approaching peak.
"G, look at me," Zoë said as she felt only seconds away from her peak. Callen was too lost in the pleasure that he didn't hear her. "G, look at me please," Zoë spoke again and she lifted Callen's head up. She wanted to look in his beautiful blue eyes as they reached their peak together.
Zoë saw his eyes turning even bluer, like they always did when he was about to reach his peak. Zoë looked into his eyes and Callen looked into hers. He saw the pleasure taking over as he felt Zoë reach her peak. Her peak set off his. Zoë clawed her nails in his upper arms as she reached her peak. Callen slowed down, letting Zoë come down from her peak. Once he was sure she had come down from her peak Callen stopped moving but didn't pull out of her yet. They kept looking into each other's eyes and they could both see the passion and love in the other's eyes.
"Thank you for that G, that was amazing," Zoë spoke after a few seconds.
"You were not so bad yourself."
Callen softly kissed Zoë before rolling off of her. Callen lay on his back looking up to the ceiling. Zoë rolled over too and lay her head down on his chest as Callen wrapped his arm around her.
"I'm so glad you're okay. I was so worried about you."
"I know you were but I'm fine I promise. I'm still here and I'm fine."
Zoë snuggled against Callen as Callen gave her a soft kiss on her head.
"I want to teach you how to use a gun," Callen spoke suddenly out of the blue.
"What?" Zoë reacted as she lifted her head up and looked at Callen.
"I want to teach you how to use a gun," Callen admitted as he looked at her. "Should you ever get in a situation like this I would feel much better if you knew how to use a gun. That way you can protect yourself."
"Are you serious? I'm not an agent, I don't know how to shoot a gun."
"Yes I'm serious," Callen replied as he sat up. "I know you're not an agent. But you do go out into the field sometimes and like with what happened today I would feel a lot better if you had a gun with you to protect yourself. I know you don't know how to shoot a gun but I can teach you."
"I don't know. I don't know if I can really do that, shoot someone and perhaps kill someone."
"I know it's not something you normally do but I would feel a lot better knowing that you can defend yourself, should you ever get into a situation like this. It's not every day you go out into the field but if and when you do I would like to know that you can protect yourself." Callen felt a lot of emotions coming up. He loved Zoë more than anything and he had been so worried about her. The fact that she was in that position and she could've been hurt or killed scared him immensely. "That bodyguard could have really hurt you today. What if Nell hadn't been there, what if we hadn't been there on time. I feel so bad for putting you in that position."
Zoë heard the emotion in Callen's voice and saw his eyes get a bit watery.
"Hey G, it's okay, I'm still here. He didn't hurt me," Zoë tried to reassure him as she grabbed his hand in hers.
"I know, I know, but it could've gone a lot worse. I don't want to see you get hurt. And what about the Comescus. They came after me again. They grabbed Reindhardt because they thought he was my dad. What if they had grabbed you because you're my girlfriend. I really hope they never get to you but what if they do, I at least want you to be able to defend yourself."
Zoë could see that this came from deep within his heart. He had been worried about her ever since the Comescus had come back. He was right, they could've gotten her too because she's close to Callen, but she wasn't about to let them or anyone else scare her away from being with Callen. She loved him and she knew he loved her and she knew that Callen would always protect her.
"Oh honey, I didn't know you felt this way. I know you have enemies out there, but that hasn't stopped me from being with you and it never will."
"I know and I love you for that. I just worry about you, almost every day I worry about you, worry that one of my enemies will get to you and hurt you. Sometimes I feel it would be just easier to not have you in my life so that they can't hurt you, but I can't. I love you and I want you in my life. So I'm just gonna have to deal with these worries, but I would feel much better if you had a gun."
"I want you in my life too and I worry about you too when you go out into the field. I worry every time you go out to catch a bad guy, worried that you will catch a bullet or something. I don't want anything to happen to you either."
"I know you worry about me too but I'm a trained agent, I know how to defend myself and I usually have Sam there to back me up. I know my job puts me at risk, at risk of getting hurt but I promise I'll be careful when I'm out in the field. But that's why I want you to be able to protect yourself too. If you ever go out into the field I want you to be prepared and be ready to defend yourself. I know this is not really up your alley but I would feel so much better if you did. Can you please do this for me?" Callen spoke as he looked Zoë in the eyes.
Zoë saw by the look in his eyes that he was being sincere and that he really wanted her to do this.
"I guess it couldn't hurt to get some training in it, but only if you'll teach me."
"Of course, of course I will." Callen leaned forward and gave Zoë a kiss. "Thank you. This means a lot to me."
"You're welcome. Just promise me you'll be safe too whenever you're out there."
"I promise. Nothing's gonna happen to me."
"Good."
Callen pushed Zoë back down onto the bed and kissed her again. Before they knew it there were making love again.
…
The next morning Callen and Zoë were at the office bright and early. Callen was gonna teach her how to use a weapon.
"I don't have to shoot an assault rifle or something right?" Zoë spoke as they walked into the armory.
"No, of course not. Just a normal handgun like my SIG."
"Okay good."
Callen took one of the SIG's from the rack and some dummy bullets, before taking Zoë to the shooting range. He took two ear protectors off of the rack and handed one to Zoë and took two glasses too and handed one to Zoë as well.
"Always wear these when you're practicing and always make sure your gun is pointed downrange when it's loaded."
Callen showed her how to load a new mag into the gun. Zoë watched him closely as he repeated the process a couple of times. Zoë could tell that for him it was almost automatically, he could do it with his eyes closed.
"Now hold the gun with your dominant hand so that the index finger can press against the trigger and support the gun with your other hand," Callen said as he showed Zoë how to hold the gun in her hands. Zoë remembered it a bit from when Callen taught her the basics earlier when she had to go undercover as a shrink. "When you shoot hold the gun at eye level so you can look over the barrel. Then visualize your target and when you have it in sight pull the trigger." Callen showed her how to do it and he shot at the target. "Now you try it."
Zoë took the gun from Callen and held it just like Callen had showed her. She brought the gun up to eye level and pointed it at the paper target. She focused on the target and when she was ready she pulled the trigger. She was aiming for center mass but the gun went into the shoulder.
"Not bad. But you might want to change your stance a bit. Try putting some more weight on your right foot and shift your arms a bit," Callen told her as he guided her into the right position. "Good, now try again."
Zoë lined up her shot again and fired when she felt ready. This time she hit the chest.
"Very good."
They practiced for a bit more before they went back to the bullpen. Callen sat behind his desk as Zoë went upstairs to her office.
….
It was the last day of work before the Christmas break. Zoë and Callen had practiced shooting every day and Callen was very impressed with Zoë, she was a quick study. Callen was glad that Zoë had decided to learn how to shoot. He knew that this wasn't really her thing but he wanted her to protect herself. Before going home for the day they had a Christmas party at work. Some tables stood in the main room with snack and drinks on it and Christmas music was playing in the background. Everyone was really having a good time.
"See you all in the new year," Callen said as everyone started leaving.
"Have some good holidays," Zoë added.
They packed up their stuff and went home. They had two weeks off before returning for work in the new year.
…
Today was Christmas eve. Callen was really looking forward to spending Christmas eve with Zoë but he was also a bit nervous, because tonight he was going to ask Zoë to marry him. He really hoped she would say yes. He was sure that he wanted this and he was pretty sure that Zoë wanted this too.
There was some Christmas music playing in the background as Zoë and Callen prepared dinner together. They made some seasoned potatoes, string beans and a roasted chicken from the oven. Once dinner was done they set the table and sat down to eat. It was really delicious. After dinner they cleaned up and moved to the living room once it was done. The Christmas music was still playing in the background so Callen pulled Zoë towards him and started dancing with her. Zoë put her arms around his neck and danced with him to the rhythm.
"It's a perfect Christmas eve," Zoë stated.
"And the eve is not over yet," Callen replied with a smile.
They continued to dance for a while before Callen cleared the table in the living room and put a blanket down for them. He went to put on the fireplace as Zoë went to get them some wine and snacks.
"Here's to us, to our first Christmas eve living together," Zoë spoke.
"Here's to us and to many wonderful Christmas eve's more."
They sat on the blanket just talking together before Callen got up from the blanket and retrieve a package from underneath the tree.
"I know we said we would wait until the presents tomorrow but I wanted to give you this tonight already." Zoë looked at him as he handed her a squared box. "Go ahead, open it."
Zoë took the box from Callen and opened it. Inside she found a blue velvet box. She had a bit of an idea where this was going to. She took the blue velvet box from the bigger box and opened it. Inside was the most beautiful ring she had ever seen. It was a silver ring with an infinity shape on top of it but the ends weren't round, they were in heart shapes and the upper side of the infinity shape had diamonds on it.
"Oh my G! This is beautiful," Zoë spoke.
Zoë watched as Callen got up and kneeled down on one knee and took her hand in his. Zoë knew what was coming.
"Zoë Moore, you have changed my life so much from the moment you walked into it. You made me a better man, learned me what it's like to open up to someone, what it's like to love someone. I'm so happy to have you in my life and I never want to spend one day without you in it. So Zoë Moore…."
