(Still at) La Casa De Fabray
Santana was fairly good with parents. Friend's parents, girlfriend's parents, heck even grandparents. Mr. Fabray, however, was hard to read. She hadn't felt nervous before, but now under the older man's observing eyes, she felt perspiration collecting under her armpits.
"Can I get you something to drink, Santana?" He finally said as he turned to go into the kitchen.
"Just water please, thank you sir," Santana mentally pat herself on the back for not stuttering.
Russell motioned her to sit down at the island and handed her a glass, keeping one for himself as well.
"So where do you plan on taking my daughter tonight?"
"I was thinking of having a picnic in Griffith Park to catch the sunset and a drive-in movie afterwards."
Russell looked pleasantly surprised at that answer and Santana took that as a cue to continue.
"I would have Quinn back before midnight. Unless you and Mrs. Fabray would prefer an earlier time?"
The older man nodded somewhat satisfied. "Midnight is fine."
The two sipped on their drinks and the awkward silence returned.
"Are you a Clippers fan Mr. Fabray?" Santana finally asked, referencing the t-shirt he was wearing.
The older guy finally cracked a smile at that mention. "Only the best team in our city."
Santana released a breath internally and smiled. "They're solid, but I believe that title is always going to be the Lakers, respectfully sir."
Russell raised a challenging eyebrow. "Did you forget about their 2014-15 season? Not to mention the 10 game losing streak."
"You got me there, but I write off that season off as D'Antoni's slipped up. Lob City still has nothing on 17 time champions."
Russell shook his head. They went back and forth for several minutes and the environment changed into a comfortable banter.
Judy and Quinn had made their way back now and they were perplexed at the sudden liveliness. They leaned against the wall, listening as the older man and Santana were engrossed in their conversation.
"Lebron, Green, and Davis carry that team and the rest of them just sit and occasionally toss up a lucky shot," Mr. Fabray exclaimed. He didn't want to admit it, but this kid in front of him wasn't half bad.
"That's what leadership is for. They're getting ready to pass on the torch to the younger players and it's normal that they need to regroup the team dynamic," Santana rebutted.
Judy cleared her throat to make it known they weren't the only ones in the kitchen, two pairs of eyes snapped over at the mother and daughter, who both wore amused expressions. "Honey, while this is cute and all, we should let Santana and Quinn go," she winked at her husband and it looked like his ears turned pink.
"Yeah Dad. Santana's my date, not yours," Quinn smirked.
This caused the three others to laugh.
"Alright alright, you kids go have fun," Russell waved them off. "We'll continue this conversation another time, Santana. Bring my daughter back at midnight and no later."
"Yessir," Santana flashed the married couple a winning smile and the two teenagers went out the front door.
Quinn walked over to the passenger side and Santana followed suit and leaned against the car door.
"Your dad's a funny guy," Santana smirked, now they were standing face to face.
Quinn shook her head. "He might invite you over to watch games now and I'll have to listen to your basketball debates."
Santana just smiled and tucked a strand of fallen blonde hair behind the girl's ear.
"We didn't get a chance to greet each other yet," Santana said softly before pulling the girl in for a hug.
Quinn wrapped her arms around Santana's neck, and felt her stomach flutter at the contact.
Santana took in Quinn's sweet citrus scent and then pulled back a little, but kept her arms around Quinn's waist.
"I like this getup," Santana said, touching her own leather biker jacket that the other girl was wearing. It was a little big around her shoulders, but it went well with her grey sweater dress.
Quinn rolled her eyes playfully. "Some wannabe rockstar gave it to me. She likes to think she's a big deal."
Santana laughed. "She sounds cocky. I wonder why you give her the time and day."
Quinn bit her lip trying to hide a smile. This drew Santana's attention downward, glancing at pink lips. Quinn was wearing a subtle lip gloss and she really wanted to lean in to get a taste.
She didn't though, it wasn't time yet. She smiled and pressed a quick peck to a porcelain cheek instead.
"Let's get going," Santana stepped away and opened the car door. Quinn blushed and ducked her head getting inside the car.
It was a nice and quiet drive with Santana occasionally glancing over at her date. She couldn't help it, there was no doubt Quinn was the most beautiful girl she's ever seen.
Quinn rested her head against the headrest as she observed Santana drive. The raven haired girl looked relaxed, just driving effortlessly. She was just so dreamy. When Santana would glance over, Quinn would flash her a sweet smile.
After the third time of this happening, Quinn placed her hand on top of Santana's free hand on the center console and in turn, Santana intertwined their fingers. There was a comfortable silence, words weren't needed for the two to enjoy each other's company.
Finally after half an hour, they pulled up to the side of a hill. Santana got out first, opening the door for Quinn again before getting a picnic basket from the backseat. They continued holding hands as they walked together to the top of the hill.
When they reached their destination, Quinn was awestruck. There was already a blanket and wooden coffee table set up on the ground. Not to mention, the view was absolutely breathtaking. It overlooked the city and they could even spot the Hollywood sign from where they were.
"What do you think?"
"This is amazing Santana. I can't believe you did all of this…" Quinn didn't know what to say, there was clearly a lot of effort put into their date.
"I think you're going to like this part even better." Santana smiled and motioned them to sit down.
She started unpacking the basket and placed the meal prep containers on the table. There were portions of cubed watermelon, chocolate-covered strawberries, a PB&J sandwich for herself, and a BLT (extra B) sandwich for Quinn. And an extra side of bacon. It looked more like a picnic for a family rather than a meal for two people.
"I promised you bacon and I know you don't like your foods touching so..."
Quinn felt her heart swell at the fact that Santana remembered the little quirk about her. It wasn't a big deal, but she loved the sweet gesture.
"What's wrong?" Santana asked as Quinn stayed quiet.
Hazel eyes quickly met with brown ones and Quinn couldn't help, but lean over and kiss a tan cheek.
"I love it. You're sweet."
The two enjoyed the rest of their dinner, talking and laughing. They watched the sunset which added to the beautiful view. After they finished eating, Quinn took her phone out to snap pictures of the scenery. Santana watched as the golden rays framed the other girl's face, it made her look even more captivating. Quinn turned the camera around and insisted they take a selfie and of course Santana complied. It was the most fun either of them had in a long time.
Quinn felt a little disappointed when they started to clean up and it was dark now. She didn't want the date to end. The two walked hand in hand back to the car. Santana went to open the door for Quinn again, but was stopped by a fair-skinned hand.
The two teenagers looked at each other as Quinn wrapped her arms around Santana's shoulders and Santana's hands found placement on her waist. Pale fingertips danced along the collar of Santana's jacket.
Santana was lost in hazel eyes and she leaned in slowly until her lips were hovering over pink ones. Quinn leaned forward and connected their lips fully.
The first touch was like fireworks. The kiss began soft and slow, both girls trying to take in the sensation. Santana couldn't help, but pull Quinn closer. Their bodies were tightly pressed together as their lips moved in sync. Quinn let out a soft moan and Santana took the opportunity suck on her lower lip and it sent a tingle down her spine. Moments later, the need to breathe was too much and they pulled back trying to catch their breath.
"Damn..." Santana whispered, leaning their foreheads together.
Quinn nodded in agreement. She pressed her lips to Santana's again, she couldn't get enough.
"Mm..." Santana hummed and reluctantly pulled back. "We're gonna be late."
"What do you mean?" Quinn pecked her lips again.
Santana smiled and kissed Quinn's cheek. "I have something else planned for us."
They got in the car and started for their next destination, which was only 5 mins away. Santana parked and kept the F/M radio on. Quinn was confused when they got out to see a mostly empty parking lot. There were only a few other cars around.
Santana opened the trunk where there was a makeshift fort with pillows and blankets. She climbed inside first and patted the spot next to her.
"And this is where I murder you in my trunk," Santana joked as Quinn climbed in too, still kind of confused.
"Yeah right," Quinn got comfortable and finally noticed a big screen in their line of view. They were at a drive-in theatre. A smile formed on her lips, she'd never been to one of these before.
Santana put an arm around Quinn's shoulders and Quinn leaned into the embrace as the movie started.
The movie was La La Land which neither of them had seen before. It was Blaine's recommendation. He said that rom-coms are the perfect first date movie and it was a plus that it's also a musical. (Which was biased if you asked Santana.)

It turned out to be a good movie and two hours later, the credits started rolling and Santana heard a sniffle against her shoulder.
"Hey.. are you crying?" She pulled back a little to look at Quinn.
"That's so sad they didn't end up together," Quinn said, pouting slightly.
"Aww," Santana caressed her cheek and leaned in to kiss her temple. "Who knew you were a crybaby," she teased.
They sat in a trunk talking about the film for a while until Santana glanced at her Seiko letting them know it was time to go home. She didn't want to break curfew because she wanted to develop trust with the Fabrays. Despite feeling disappointed about the movie's sad ending and the end of their date, Quinn felt butterflies at the gesture. Santana was so sweet to her.
They pulled up to Quinn's driveway half an hour later and the lights in the house were off meaning Judy and Russell had already gone to bed. They held hands as they walked up to the front door.
"I had a lot of fun tonight..." Quinn said softly, looking into brown eyes.
"I'm glad you said yes," Santana grinned. She took a step to lessen the distance between them. "My jacket looks good on you."
"I'll keep it then." Santana nodded in response and Quinn bit her lip trying to hide a smile. "When can I see you again?"
Santana squeezed her hand gently and leaned in. "Soon," she whispered, glancing at her new favorite shade of dark green.
Their lips pressed together softly and Quinn tugged on Santana's shirt, pulling them closer together.
"Mm..." Santana hummed into the kiss. Quinn's lips were addicting.
They both pulled away with slightly tinted cheeks. Santana couldn't help, but place another chaste kiss on the girl's pink lips.
Quinn smiled as their noses brushed together. "Goodnight..."
"Goodnight…" Santana whispered back.
Quinn went inside and rested her back against the closed door. An intuitive smile grew on her lips. The warm feeling in her chest was indescribable in a good way. Santana was so sweet and dreamy, and their date was perfect.
