He couldn't believe what he was seeing, was his wife really pregnant?
"Yeah I'm back. What's going on?" He asked, eyeing her stomach.
"Uhm yeah…." Zoë replied as she put her hands on her stomach. "I guess it's obvious, you're gonna be a dad."
"You're really pregnant?"
"Yeah I am. I wanted to tell you before but…."
Callen stopped Zoë when he reached her and wrapped his arms around her.
"You really are pregnant?" Callen asked again, this time with a smile on his face.
"Yeah I really am," Zoë replied with a smile. Callen picked her up and spun her around. "G, honey, stop. I'm getting dizzy."
"Sorry," Callen spoke and he put Zoë back down on the ground again.
He pulled her close and kissed her deeply. He had missed his wife so much and now he came back to find out she was pregnant! Pregnant with his little baby. Now he regretted being away for so long even more.
Zoë put her hands around his neck and pulled him even closer. She was so glad that Callen was back home again, and back in one piece. And oh man she had missed his touches and his kisses. She hadn't really had these kind of feelings before but now that Callen was back she could definitely feel the effects of her pregnancy. Now she had kissed him again she couldn't get enough of him and she was sure that if he would keep kissing her like this she wouldn't be able to contain herself. To make matters worse Callen moved his lips down to her neck and kissed her pulse point.
"Hmmm G," Zoë moaned.
Zoë hoisted herself onto the vanity as her hands quickly found the hem of Callen's shirt. She lifted it up over his head and continued with his pants as Callen kissed her on the lips again. Within a matter of seconds Callen's pants and boxers were on the ground too and Zoë's panties and bra soon followed.
Callen had missed Zoë so much and he wanted nothing more than to make love to her but he wanted to know first if it was okay for her.
"Are you okay? I mean can you still do this?" Callen asked.
"I'm more than okay and yes I can still do this. Please G, I want you."
Not wanting to deny the love of his life of anything Callen made sure she was ready for him. Just the brief touch had Zoë panting already. Sensing that she was already almost there Callen moved his fingers and kissed her neck again. Zoë threw her head back and let herself enjoy this moment. It had been way too long since she had this and with her raging pregnancy hormones it was almost too much for her. Callen let her come down from her high a bit before he moved himself inside of her. Oh it felt so good to make love to her again, he had missed this so much. And he wasn't just making love to his wife now, he making love to his pregnant wife! Callen put that aside for now and just enjoyed being connected with Zoë again. Zoë wrapped her legs around him so tightly that he couldn't move away, if he even wanted that. Her hands were touching him everywhere, no knowing where to touch him first. The way Callen was driving into her was just too good. She got peak after peak, it didn't seem to stop. Callen joined her on her fifth one. Callen cradled her to him as they both calmed down.
"Wow," Zoë managed to speak after a few seconds.
"Yeah, you can say that wow. In more ways than one."
Zoë hugged him tightly and lay her head down on his shoulder. She was so relieved he was back home in one piece. As she sat there with Callen she couldn't help but starting to sob a bit.
"Hey honey, what's wrong?" Callen asked concerned when he heard her sob and rubbed her back.
"I'm just so glad that you're back home alive."
"I'm here honey, I'm fine, I promise."
Zoë clung to Callen as he walked them to their bedroom. He gently lay her down on the bed and got in next to her. They were both laying on their sides looking at each other. Callen moved his hand towards Zoë's growing stomach and rested it there.
"I can't believe that you're really pregnant."
"Yeah I couldn't believe it either when I found out," Zoë replied as she moved her hand on top of Callen's. "I hope you like it."
"Of course I like it, I love it. Now I just feel kinda guilty for being away so long."
"Oh honey, don't be," Zoë replied as she moved her hand towards Callen's cheek. "This is not your fault, it's your job. We both know that it can happen, that you have to go away."
"Yeah I know, I just wish I could've been there for you. That you didn't have to go through these first few months alone."
"Yeah I wished you were here as well, but you're here now and you haven't missed much yet."
"I missed more than enough. I'm really sorry honey."
"You're here now, that's all that matters."
Callen moved closer to Zoë and kissed her. "How long have you known?"
"I found out a couple days after you left. I wasn't really feeling well but I first thought it was just anxiety of missing you but it stayed so I made an appointment with the doctor and she said I was pregnant. So I went to the OB to confirm it and she confirmed it."
"I wish you would've told me sooner. Why didn't you tell me when we chatted?"
"It felt weird telling you over the messaging app and I didn't want to distract you from the case. I was worried that if I would tell you, you would be distracted from the case and might get hurt."
"I could've handled it. But I can understand why you didn't. Is everything okay with you two?"
"Yeah we're both very healthy and the baby is growing nice and big."
"That's good to hear."
Zoë rolled over to her nightstand and fished out a picture. "Here, this is the latest picture I have."
Zoë handed Callen the ultrasound picture. Callen looked at the picture, you could see the baby quite clearly already.
"Oh my! That's our little baby," Callen exclaimed with a smile on his face.
"Yeah it is," Zoë replied with a smile.
"From when was this?"
"Last week. I have all the other previous pictures and movies of the ultrasounds as well."
"When is you next appointment?"
"In two weeks."
"Do you know what we're having?"
"No, the doctor could see it already but it didn't feel right finding out…"
"Without me there?" Callen finished.
"Yeah. I didn't want to find out without you."
"We can ask it with the next appointment. And then we can go shopping for the nursery so I can put it together for our little baby."
"I'd like that, but I can help with the nursery though."
"I know, but I'd rather you didn't. I want to do this for you two."
"That's sweet of you."
"Does anyone else know?"
"No, not yet. I wanted you to be the first to know so I haven't told anyone else. Well maybe Hetty has figured it out cus, you know, she's Hetty, but I haven't told anyone yet."
"Not even your family?"
"Nope, I wanted daddy to know first. I just didn't think it would be two months later."
"Yeah I know, me neither. How did you cover your baby bump then?"
"I wore baggy clothes. Imagine their surprise when I show up tomorrow at work with this baby bump."
"Yeah, you don't have to hide it anymore cus I want the whole world to know," Callen said with a smile.
"I'm so glad you're back again, I've missed you so much. Two months really is too long."
"Yes it is. But the case is solved now, I'm back now."
Zoë kissed Callen. "I love you G."
"I love you too."
Callen kissed Zoë again as he turned her around on her back. His hand moved over her stomach and smiled against her lips when he felt something move beneath his hand. There really was a little baby inside of her, his little baby. He was going to be a dad!
About an hour later Zoë lay with her head on Callen's chest and Callen had his arm around her. Zoë was asleep within minutes. Callen lay awake for a little while. He was so glad to back home again. He had missed Zoë so much. And now that he learned that she was pregnant he had missed her ever more. They had talked about having kids but now that it was actually here it scared Callen a bit. He was more than happy about it but he also wondered what it would be like with a little baby here. He didn't know much about babies. He just hoped he would be a good dad, he never really had a role model for that so he didn't know if he'd be any good at it. But Callen would absolutely try his best to be a good dad for their little baby. He just hoped he wouldn't have to go on a long undercover again anytime soon. After about an hour Callen managed to fall asleep as well.
The next morning when Callen woke up Zoë was already out of bed. Callen got out of bed too and found Zoë in the bathroom.
"Good morning beautiful," Callen spoke.
"Hey handsome," Zoë replied.
"You okay?" Callen asked worried as he noticed she looked a little pale.
"Yeah, it's just morning sickness. It's only when I get up, the rest of the day it's pretty okay."
"Okay good." Callen wrapped his arms around her from behind and rested his head on her shoulder as he looked at them in the mirror. "I still can't believe that there's actually a little baby in here."
"I know me neither, but there really is," Zoë replied as she put her hands on Callen's.
"Yes there is. I can feel the baby move a bit already."
"Yeah I know, feels weird."
"Yeah it does. I wonder how the others will react."
"Yeah me too."
Callen gave her a quick kiss before he hopped in the shower to get ready for the day. For the first time Zoë could wear her maternity clothes to work. Callen looked at her when she was dressed. She looked so beautiful and the dress she was wearing showed her baby bump off perfectly.
"You look beautiful," Callen told her.
"Thank you."
Together they left for work. Zoë held her bag in front of her stomach so the others didn't see it immediately.
"Hey G," Sam spoke surprised when he saw Callen come in with Zoë.
"Welcome back Callen," Kensi added.
"Thanks it's good to be back."
"When did you get back?" Sam asked.
"Late last night."
"Everything go fine with the case?"
"Yes, it's solved so I'm back to annoy you again."
Sam stood up and gave Callen a bro hug.
"You must be happy he's back, Zoë," Kensi said.
"Yeah very happy," Zoë smiled at Callen.
Zoë pretended that she was just moving her bag to the other shoulder, but she did it on purpose to reveal her baby bump to the others.
"Oh my god! Zoë! Are you pregnant?" Kensi said, eyeing Zoë's baby bump.
"Yeah, I am," Zoë replied with a smile.
"Oh my god! Congratulations," Kensi exclaimed as she quickly enveloped Zoë in a hug. "How far along are you?"
"Eighteen weeks."
"Wow, so far already. Why didn't you tell us sooner?"
"I wanted G to be the first to know, I found out just after G left. It didn't feel right to tell anyone before him."
"I'm happy for you two."
Sam put his arm around Callen's shoulder. "Congrats G, you're gonna be a dad."
"Yeah I am."
Deeks came over and congratulated the pair as well.
"Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Callen," Hetty spoke, joining the group. She had figured it out a while ago though.
"Thank you Hetty," Zoë replied.
"And welcome back Mr. Callen, you've been missed."
"Thank you Hetty. Yeah it's good to be back."
"Considering you didn't have any summer vacation you can take your vacation after this week, you too Mrs. Callen."
"Thank you Hetty."
Since Callen was away Zoë decided to not take her vacation time, she would just sit around at home missing Callen. At work at least she was busy. It was already Thursday now so they only had to work two more days before they could go on vacation. Callen went upstairs with Zoë so they could tell Eric and Nell as well, they were already upstairs in OPS.
"Good morning," Callen spoke as he walked into OPS.
"Hey Callen, welcome back," Eric responded.
"Good to have you back Callen," Nell added.
"It's good to be back."
"Morning," Zoë spoke as she walked into OPS just after Callen.
"Morning Zoë," Eric and Nell responded and then Nell noticed Zoë's stomach.
"Wow, you're pregnant!" Nell exclaimed.
"Yeah I am," Zoë replied with a smile.
Both Nell and Eric stood up to congratulate Callen and Zoë.
"That's amazing. How far along are you?" Nell asked.
"Eighteen weeks. I didn't tell you guys yet cus I wanted to tell G first."
"Ah yeah I can understand that. I'm happy for you two."
"Thank you."
Callen walked Zoë to her office and gave her a soft kiss before going downstairs. Sam had done some of the paperwork in Callen's absence but some things had to be done by Callen so his inbox was a bit full. Callen sat behind his desk and opened his laptop before he got started on his mail.
It was a pretty calm day so Callen had time to catch up on the paperwork.
"Lunch run," Sam announced when it was around 12pm. "You coming with me G?"
"Yeah sure."
Sam and Callen left to get some lunch.
"So Zoë's pregnant?" Sam said when they were in the car.
"Yes she is. I was quite surprised last night when I found out."
"Yeah I can imagine. I'm happy for you two. And you're a great uncle to Aiden and Kam so I'm sure you're gonna be a great dad too. And I'll be there to kick your ass if you're not," Sam joked that last part.
"Thanks Sam," Callen replied with a smile. He had missed their banter.
"You can always ask me for advice if you need to G, but I'm sure you're gonna be a great dad."
"Thanks Sam, I might take you up on that."
They picked up some lunch and returned to the office. Once back at the office Callen took his and Zoë's lunch and went upstairs. Zoë's door was open so Callen walked in.
"I've brought you some lunch," Callen announced as he walked in and he closed the door.
"Mmm thank you, I'm starving."
"What do you want? I have turkey or tuna sandwich."
"Turkey, I can't have tuna anymore."
"Ah good to know." Callen handed the turkey sandwich to Zoë. "You can't have fish anymore?"
"Nope, now that I'm pregnant I can't have certain foods or drinks anymore cus they are not good for me and the baby."
"Ah okay, like what?"
"Fish, raw meat and fish, raw or barely cooked eggs, some types of cheese, pre-packed meals, some fruits and vegetables, some hams like salami or pepperoni, alcohol and caffeine."
Callen made a mental note not to buy these things for Zoë.
"It was nice of Hetty to have us have some vacation time," Callen said.
"Yeah I asked Hetty if it would be okay if I waited with my vacation time until you were back and it was no problem."
"Yeah it would be nice just to get away after being on this undercover mission for two months. But it's a bit short notice, is there still something available?"
"Yeah I'm sure there will be something last minute."
"And are you okay to travel?" Callen asked concerned.
"Yes I'm still okay to travel. They say pregnant woman can fly up to around thirty weeks. But considering it's short notice we'll probably stay somewhere close."
"Yeah that's fine by me."
"I'll look for something, see if something's still available. There are a lot of beautiful spots around LA."
"Yes there are."
Once they were done eating Callen stood up and walked over to Zoë. Callen turned Zoë chair around so she was facing him and kissed her.
"I've gotta get back down."
"Thank you for the sandwich."
"You're welcome."
Callen gave Zoë one more kiss before he walked out of the office. Just before Callen exited the door Zoë quickly walked up to him. She pulled him to her and kissed him deeply. She knew they were at work but she couldn't contain herself. And considering they were in her office, nobody saw them.
"Okay, now you can go down," Zoë spoke once she stopped kissing Callen.
Zoë sat back behind her desk and Callen walked down. The rest of the day was pretty quiet so everyone went home just after 5pm.
"How about we go out to dinner tonight?" Callen suggested as they drove home.
"I'd like that."
On the way home Callen stopped by a restaurant and they had a nice dinner before going home.
….
On Saturday afternoon they video called Zoë's parents and siblings to tell them the good news. The laptop stood on the kitchen island as they called.
"Hey Zoë, G," the others called when they accepted the call.
"Hey guys, well to get straight to the point. You're probably wondering why we're calling you all at the same time." Yeah's were heard and nods were seen. "Well we have some wonderful and exciting news to share with all of you."
Zoë looked at Callen briefly with a smile before she stepped backwards. She turned sideways and showed her little baby bump to her family. Zoë immediately saw the shocked faces.
"Oh my god! You're pregnant," Zoë's mom was the first to react. "Congratulations you two."
"Thank you mom."
The others congratulated them as well.
"Oh I'm so happy for you two," Fay said. "How far along are you?"
"Eighteen weeks."
"Is everything okay with you two?" Zoë's dad asked.
"Yes everything is perfectly fine. We're both very healthy. I just didn't tell you sooner cus G was away on business and we wanted to tell you together."
"I can understand that," Kirsten spoke. "I'm so happy, I'm gonna be a grandma. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you or if you want to talk I'm always here for you."
"Thanks mom."
They talked some more before they ended the call.
…..
That Sunday they left on their vacation. Zoë wanted to walk down with her suitcase when Callen saw her from down the stairs.
"Ho, ho, wait, I'll carry it down for you," Callen called as he quickly ran up the stairs and took the suitcase from her.
"Thank you, but I'm perfectly capable of carrying it down myself," Zoë replied as she walked down behind Callen.
"I know, but I'd rather you not."
"I've been doing it fine by myself all this time," Zoë spoke a bit angry causing Callen to look her way. "I'm sorry G. I didn't mean it like that."
"It's okay. I know I haven't been there for you. But I'm here now so I can help you."
"I know, but I can still do some things myself."
"Yes I know that." Callen wrapped his arms around Zoë's waist. "I just don't want to see you or our little baby get hurt. You don't have to do everything yourself anymore, I'm back. So I'm here to help you."
"I know and thank you for that. It's just that I kinda got used to being on my own after two months. Now I just have to get used to you being here again."
"I know was gone for a while honey and I'm sorry for that."
"I know and I'm glad you're back again. It will just take some getting used to."
"I can get that." Callen gave Zoë a soft kiss. "I love you."
"I love you too."
Zoë gave Callen one more kiss before Callen loaded their luggage into the car. Zoë locked the door and joined Callen in the car. Callen pulled out of the driveway and started their drive to their vacation location.
