A boy, only 10 years of age, wandered through the forest which was deep in the forbidden zone. His name was Asta and he was playing in the forest. "Asta! Don't go so far into the forest, you'll get lost!" Yuno cried.
"It'll be alright, Yuno!" Asta shouted as he ran further into the forest. "Yuno? Where are you Yuno?" Asta shouted as trees and darkness surrounded him. The young boy's bravado began to fade as he saw faces in the shadows of the trees. "Sister Lily!" he cried, tears welling up under his eyes. Fear enveloped him as an icy presence wrapped itself around him. Many creatures with horns and fangs encircled him, saliva dripping out of their gaping maws.
"Let's eat him!" a fat one said as its claws reached towards him.
"No! Let's roast him up and finish him off with a glaze," Another snickered.
"Or we can dip it into honey!" a third suggested as he grabbed the young boy.
Suddenly, a cold breeze swept through the forest, Asta casting his first spell. A bit of heat began to build up and seconds later it exploded in the creature's face. Its grip was opened, giving the young boy the chance to escape. He ran away from the creatures. "Were those… devils?!" he thought as panic began to set in. His fear began to mix with his sudden panic, into a toxic fusion of terror.
"Cease your fleeing human!" Came the voices from behind. "We'll make your death quick!"
"You, boy. If you wish to survive, come to the sound of my voice," a female voice called.
Asta did as the voice commanded, getting closer to a femine figure that beckoned to him. He eventually saw who it was who was calling him. It was another devil, but this one took the form of a woman with voluptuous breasts and a tall stature. She had thick feathers covering her body and a third eye on her forehead. "Another devil!" Asta cried. Just as he tried to run away a wall of mana blocked his path.
"I know how you humans think of our kind. However, if you wish to escape alive I'd suggest you make a pact with me, for the devils that pursue you are far weaker than I. I can protect you, but you must first make that pact.
"O-ok, what do I do?" Asta asked as his entire body shook from fear.
"Just give me a drop of your blood," the devil said. He took a sharp stick and cut one of his fingers, tears of pain rolling down his cheeks. The female devil bent down, licking up the blood from his finger. He began to feel warmth all over his body as the female devil smiled. She wrapped her arms around him, the feathers which covered her were warm and soft, her breasts acting as pillows for the young boy's tired head.
"Whats… your name?" he asked, hesitant in the question.
"You may call me, Megicula, little one. What's your name?" she asked, staring into the boys' green eyes.
"Asta," he replied.
"Well Asta, from now on, I will watch over you," Megicula said with a smile, placing a kiss on his forehead. "This boy is something curious. A type of magic I've never seen along with the fact that he seems to be stronger than usual. He's my newest toy, so I can't break him right away," Megicula thought as she held him in her arms. Just then the pursuing devils reached the two of them.
"Give us the human, Megicula!" one of the devils demanded.
"I'm afraid I can't," Megicula replied as she sent a powerful spell at them, turning them all to ash. She looked down at Asta who was now sleeping in her arms. Her mind flashed back to her own child.
"Megicula… we can't keep him…" Lucifero said as he paced around their realm, Megicula clutching a low born devil in her claws.
"He's not just some low born, he's ours. We made him! I'm not going to abandon him!" She cried, tears of blood running down her cheek.
"We have to, the devils that are stronger than him will use him against us," Lucifero pleaded.
"Fine, but you be the one to do it," Megicula said as she handed him her son. The second he left her arms, the young devil began to cry and beg.
"Mommy! I'm cold! I don't want to go!" All she could do was cry as Lucifer slaughtered their child.
Megicula's hold on Asta tightened as she looked down. "You're safe with me, human boy," she thought, looking up at the sky of the underworld. "And with our pact I can escape this wretched world," she thought, flying through the barrier, reaching the forest in the human realm. His right arm began to pale, turning a snow-white coloration as a faint, grey, unbloomed flower formed on his arm. She gently rubbed the boy's cheek, her getting a childish smile in response. She carried him to the edge of nearby village.
"Wake up little one," she said with a smile.
"Huh?" Asta said as he gave a loud yawn.
"My little one, you must return to your home," Megicula whispered to her pact-mate.
"Ok! But when will I see you again?"
"Sooner than you think," Megicula smiled. Asta waved goodbye as he ran back to the church. It was midnight as he slowly crept through the church, reaching his bed. He slept soundly, soft breaths escaping from his mouth.
"That human child, his magic is quite… unique. I must observe more," Megicula thought as she slept atop the church. "Maybe I should try this things the humans do called 'sleeping'," she thought as her eyes slowly closed.
