13. SUMMERTIME

June 17th 10:55am SWAN RESIDENCE

"Babe, I'm going to miss you so much." Emm said

"I'm only going to be gone for a month. I'll be back in time for the Joan Jett concert."

"Yea, about that?, He said whilst scratching the back of his head. "I think you should take one of your girls with you to the concert."

I stopped folding my shorts and looked up at him.

"Why?! You bought the tickets?"

"Well, Jasper, Sebastian and I went to Portland to see the venue. The Wonder Ballroom is not an outdoor venue. The concert is indoor standing room only."

I tilted my head to the side. "So?"

"So, that means everyone in attendance will be standing within inches of each other. Also when the music is going and you're into it. You'll be dancing in place."

"Okay?!" I was confused

"Babe, if I go with you and someone was to bump into me..." It finally dawned on me what he was getting at.

"OMG! Yea, you definitely can't go. If someone bumps into you and they feel how cold and hard your skin is it'll raise a red flag."

I finished packing my duffel and suitcase and sat them next to my door. I turned around and grabbed my notepad with my check list on it. I checked off the remaining three items and ripped the page off and threw it away.

"Well, that's everything. I'm all packed and ready to go." I turned toward Emm and he had the saddest puppy dog eyes.

"Damn it, don't do that. I'll be back in no time."

"Are you sure, I can't come. I'll stay inside."

"Emmett, Johnny and Amelia are at their Malibu beachfront property. The whole back wall is glass like your house. The sun is ALWAYS shining from sunrise to sunset. You'll stick out like a giant disco ball. Also Johnny and Amelia are sharp as tacks. They'll notice the fact that you don't eat, sleep or go out in the sun. Your secret will be revealed by the second day."

He pouted some more.

"I mean, I can probably pass off your glittering as an obsession with body glitter but then they'll question your sexuality and wonder if I'm your beard."

He growled at me and pinned me to the bed.

"NEVER! EVER SAY THAT AGAIN!"

I tried squirming and wiggling to get from underneath him. It was futile.

"HEY! I never said I'D question your sexuality, but you have to admit. It's the only plausible explanation to your sparkling."

He glared at me. "You better be glad that we're at your house and we don't have the time. If we did, I'll show you that there is no reason to question my sexuality"

There was a knock at my door.

"Penny. Can I come in?" Bella asked

Emmett reluctantly let me up. "Yea, Bells come in."

Bella walked in and looked around.

"Are you driving to Seattle and leaving your car in their garage or is Emmett dropping you off?" Bella asked

"Emmett is taking me. There's no way I'm leaving Jesse in an aiport garage. Besides he's at Emmett's house. Why?"

"Oh, I was curious. Also Charlie wanted to know." Bella replied

"Are you sure? It seems like you want to ask me something but is afraid of the answer."

"No. I just was wondering if...?"

"If...What? Bells spit it out already?"

"Never mind." She glanced at Emmett and turned around and quickly left.

I turned at looked at Emmett

"Well, that was weird."

"Yup. What do you think she wanted to ask you?" Emm asked

"I haven't the faintest idea. Maybe it was a feminine question?"

"Maybe, She did glance in my direction."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Huh, most definitely feminine if she looked at you and then lost her nerve."

"Anyway, you ready? It's almost time to go. What time does your flight leave?"

I grabbed my messenger bag with my laptop and chargers.

"It departs at 4:45pm"

"Well, lets go. It's an hour and a half drive from Forks to Seattle."

"No, it's a 3 hour drive."

"Yea that's if you're doing the speed limit. You know we can get there in time."

"Ya know, for someone who claims they'll miss me, sure is in a hurry to get me to the airport."

I smirked at him. He stared at me agape. He regained his composure.

"That's...that's not it at all. I just want you to get there with plenty of time to get through TSA and everything."

"Babe, chill it's 11 o' clock. By the time we get there it'll be what after 2. I'd still have two hours to get to my gate."

"Okay, fine but I thought maybe you'd want to go to Café Juanita before you go."

"Are you serious?"

He nodded.

"Okay, let's go then."

Emmett grabbed my two bags and we made our way downstairs. Charlie was sitting in the kitchen.

"Hey Penny, you got everything?" Charlie asked

"Yes Charlie. I checked and double checked."

"Alright. Have a safe flight. Tell Jonathan and Amelia, I said Hello."

"Will do Charlie." I hugged him bye

"See you on the 22th of July, Charlie. You remember about my concert on the 24th, right?"

"Yes, I remember. You'll be back here then you and Leah are driving down to Oregon. I'll see you on the 22nd. Call me once your flight lands. Emmett, you drive safely now. You hear me." Charlie replied

"I will."

"Yes, Chief Swan." Emm said

We walked to his jeep. He opened my door and handed me my bags. I strapped myself in as he walked around to the drivers side and climbed in. He pulled away from the curb slowly. Once we were down the street and out of the chief's line of vision Emmett sped up.

"I'm so looking forward to this. I miss Benjamin and Sydney so much."

Emmett looked over at me. He grasped my hand and placed a gentle kiss on the back.

"I'm sure they miss you too."

"Do you have anything planned whilst I'm away?"

"Hunting and missing you."

"Emm, why don't you do what Rose and Bash is doing and look up what's left of the McCarty family. I know you had a big family. There's got to be someone left."

"I thought about doing that but I wanted you there with me to you know...for emotional and moral support."

"Aww babe...I'd love to go with you. Let's do that next summer."

I pulled out my phone and opened my messages. Just as I was typing a message to Alice...

"I'm already on it."

"Ummm...Thanks. Btw still not used to that."

"hahaha"

I moved on to texting Leah..

'Hey girlie, what's new?'

'Nothing much, gonna be a little bored without you to hang out with.'

'What about Emily?'

'I really don't know...I mean I forgive them but I'm still hurt about it. Sam was everything to me. We had talked about getting married and how many children we wanted to have...then poof it's all gone. How am I supposed to just forget the past three years?'

I seriously thought about how to respond to her question...

'Well, you take it one day at a time. Start by talking to Sam and explain to him that you're aware that the tribal legends are in fact true. You're still nursing a broken heart and still feel betrayed because it was your cousin. If it was a another girl you probably would've gotten over it sooner."

'That's true. My father wasn't very supportive of our relationship and now I understand why. He knew it was a possibility of Sam phasing and imprinting on another woman; and he didn't want me to get hurt."

'That makes sense. He was trying to protect you.'

'Yea, it seems that way. I just wished he had confided in me back then. I don't understand why the elders wait until we've phased before confirming that the tribal legends are true."

'Yea, that makes zero sense. If you were forewarned it would make the transition that much easier to accept. You know what to expect.'

'Exactly, I am curious to know who's going to phase next after Sam.'

'Well, whoever it is...Let's just hope they won't be in public.'

'Right?!'

'Well, I'll text you when I land in L.A... Hey did you want to go with me to the Joan Jett concert in July. I have an extra ticket.'

'Sure, I've never been to a rock concert before.'

'Awesome, I'd advise you to listen to Joan Jett beforehand. I don't need you embarrasing me. lol'

'Oh no, We can't have that now can we. lol'

I put my phone back into my jacket and turned to face Emmett

"Leah agreed to go with me to the concert instead."

He looked over at me and smiled

"That's great babe."

We drove the rest of the way to Seattle in a comfortable silence...

Fonda La Catrina Seattle Airport 12:45pm

We decided to come here. Cafe Juanita was crowded and the wait time was too long. Emmett walked up to the waiter's podium

"A table for two please." He said

The waiter grabbed two menu and motioned us forward. He sat us at a table in the corner.

"Your servers' name is Jesse and he will be with you momentarily."

"Thank You."

He bowed and walked away.

"This is nice. I'm kind of glad Cafe Juanita was packed."

"Yea, me too."

Jesse came and took our drink order while trying to flirt with me.

"I'm flattered but I am with my boyfriend."

He turned and looked at Emmett and went completely pale.

"I...uh...I...I will get those drinks for you right away." He said

He hauled ass back to the kitchen. It was hilarious.

"Baby, it's not funny."

"Yes...Yes is it. This is the first time I get to see you act jealous."

"I'm not acting. He know he saw me."

"Actually babe, I'm facing the kitchen and you're mostly hidden behind that wall with a fern on top of it. As he walked up I was the only one he saw until he turned around."

"Yea well, he should've paid attention."

Jesse brought back our drinks with an appetizer.

"Have you decided on what to order?"

"This is our first time here. What do you recommend?" I asked

"I know exactly what recommend. I'll place your orders now." He left us to our appetizer.

Seattle Sea-Tac Airport Drop off Area 2:30pm

Emmett pulled up to the designated area and got out. He opened my door and helped me down. He handed me my bags. I set them down on the curb and pulled him into a hug. I stood on my toes and kissed him. He tried to slip his tongue down my throat.

"Emm...don't do that. You're not about have me all hot and bothered on that plane." I whispered

"Well, I have to leave you with a reminder of what you have waiting when you come back." He replied

I shook my head...

"No one will ever take me away from you babe."

"I know but I had to be sure."

I laughed a little and picked up my bags.

"Bye, I'll see you in a few weeks."

"See you later."

I walked into the airport and got into the baggage check line...

D Gate 4:15pm

I sat waiting for my flight to board

'I probably should text Johnny and let him know I'm coming.'

I pulled out my phone and shot Johnny a quick text

'Hey, I'm at the Sea-Tac airport waiting for my flight to board. Ill call you when I land. Remember do not tell Amelia and the kids...'

'Okay, I won't. Have a safe flight. I'll see you when you land.'

Johnny apologized for hitting me after Amelia tore him a new one. She understands where I'm coming from. Apparently her father cheated on her mother.

"Now boarding for flight SEA889 to LAX."

I put my phone back in my pocket and grabbed my carryon. Once I handed my ticket to the TSA agent I walked down the hallway toward the plane. The flight attendant directed me to my seat. I didn't realize until I sat down that I was in First Class. I quickly sent off a thank you message to Carlisle and Esme.

'You're very welcome, have a safe flight and we'll see you when you get back.'

'Ladies and Gentleman, This is your captain Robert speaking. I want to thank you for flying with Sea-Tac. We'll be leaving in 10 minutes. Our estimated arrival time will be 7:50pm pacific standard time. Please sit back, relax and enjoy your flight. Once again thank you for flying with Sea-Tac.'

Los Angeles, CA, LAX 8:15pm

I turned my phone on and sent off a quick text to Emmett, Charlie and Johnny.

'I'm already here. I'm by baggage claim. Which one of these bags are yours?'

'The black suitcase with the band patches sewn onto it.'

'Found it, do you have a matching duffel bag with a Harley Quinn patch sewn onto it?'

'Lol...yes I do.'

'Got it too.'

I walked up to Johnny right as my phone chimed that I recieved a new message.

"Was that you?"

Johnny spun around and grabbed me into a bear hug.

"I truly apologize about my reaction. I had absolutely no right to hit you."

"I accept your apology. Let's just not talk about it anymore. One day I might find forgiveness for my father but I don't see that happening anytime soon, sooo let's just agree to disagree. Also it's your fault for telling me how my parents really died. You could've just stuck with the car crash story or even just say they were murdered in a home invasion."

"Touche."

Johnny pulled up into the garage and closed the door. We left the car and walked into the house. We stood into the kitchen and Johnny stood in front of me and blocked me from view.

"Amelia, Benji, Sydney" Johnny said

They walked in from 3 different directions. Once they all were in the kitchen.

"I have a surprise for you all."

"What is it sweetheart?" Amelia said

I stepped out from behind Johnny.

"PENNY!" Benji and Sydney shouted. They tackled me and we fell to the floor. I burst out laughing.

"OMG! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE HERE! Sydney shouted.

"Kids, I know you're excited but let Penny get up." Amelia said

Johnny helped me up off the floor.

Amelia pulled me into her arms. "I'm so glad your here."

"I'm glad to be here. I missed y'all so much."

"We missed you too." Amelia, Benji and Sydney said

"Guys, Penny is here for a few weeks so we'll have plenty of time to catch up. Let her get some sleep." Johnny said

They bid me a good night and Johnny showed me to my room. I showered and crashed out.

June 18th 9:15am Delgado Residence

I was awaken by two pre pubescent children jumping on top of me.

"PENNY, WAKE UP!" Benji screamed

I grabbed Benji and started tickling him. He laughed

"Penny, stop. I got to pee."

I immediately stopped and let him up. He ran to the bathroom. I looked at Sydney. She's the oldest of the two of them. She looks like Amelia's little clone.

"How was school this year? You officially have one year of middle school under your belt."

"It's was amazing Penny. I like how each class has a different teacher."

"You go to Calmont, right?"

"Yes, mom and dad wanted Benji and I in private school because the classes are smaller and the teacher's actually have time for one on one instruction for those who really need it."

"That's great."

"How was your junior year."

"It was fun. I made some new friends."

"Is one of those friends your new boyfriend?"

"How'd you know?"

"I overheard dad telling mom about it."

"Ahh okay. Nosy little eavesdropper."

"Hey, it's not my fault they don't check their surroundings."

I grabbed her and tickled her a little. She giggled, "Do you have a picture of him?"

I grabbed my cell phone and pull up a picture of Emmett and I together.

"This was us at my birthday party his family threw for me."

She looked at it. Her eyes got big...

"OHH MYY GOSHHH! He's cute and hugeeeee." she laughed

"Yea, but he's my heart and he's my protector. He won't let anyone hurt me. That's the kind of guy you want to look for when you start dating in a few years."

Benji chose that moment to walk in.

"Ew, who would want to date Sydney."

'Typical eight year old response'

"Your sister is a beautiful young lady little man. She'll be having guys chasing after her just like girls will be chasing after you."

"Eww, girls are gross."

I rushed at him and picked him up and twirled him around.

"Oh yea, am I gross?"

He was laughing. I put him down and he fell on his butt from being dizzy. I walked into the bathroom laughing. I completed my morning routine. I walked downstairs into the kitchen. The family was already there. I sat down in between Amelia and Syd.

"What did you want to do today?" Amelia asked

"Well, I'm here until the 22nd of July. I have a concert to go to on the 24th."

"Who are you going to see?" Benji asked

"Joan Jett and the Blackhearts."

"Never heard of them." Benji replied

"Of course you haven't, you're 8."

"I want the full California experience. I haven't been here in a while but I'm here for nearly a month."

"Well, I have some vacation time saved up so we can have some fun uninterrupted." Amelia said

"I do as well." Johnny said

"Whooo, family fun time." Syd and Benji said.

"Okay, so here's the plan then." Amelia stated

She then proceeded to outline my entire visit here. 'Wow, she must have stayed up late planning all this out.'

Once she was finished talking. "Wow, Amelia that's a amazing. You really went all in."

"I did, I don't get to see you often but when I do. I want to make the most of it."

"So, what are we waiting for...let's get started."

The kids whooped and ran to their rooms to go get ready and I did the same. Once we were all ready and packed into the car. We left for our first destination:

I spent my entire vacation jumping from one thing to another. After a relaxing day surfing and swimming at Zuma Beach. We went all over California.

"Wow, time flies when you're having so much fun."

"Yea, this was the best summer vacation ever. I can't wait to get to school and show all my friends the pictures of us." Syd said

"I'm sure your friends will be envious of you little sister."

Sydney gasped them she hugged me super tight.

"I tell all my friends that you're my big sister." Syd says

"I am your big sister and will always be there for you. Don't ever doubt that." I said while tapping her nose.

"Me too." Syd replied

Benji came in and plopped down on my other side.

"I can't believe your leaving tomorrow."

"I know Benji, but I'll be back for Christmas break. I promise."

"Okay. I love you big sister." Benji said

"I love y'all too."

I put on a movie and I knocked out 20 minutes into it.

July 22 LAX 11:45am

The car ride to the airport was very somber. I almost didn't want to go.

'If it wasn't for this concert I'd be staying until it was time to go back to school.'

Johnny pulled into the passenger pick up and drop off area. I unbuckled my seatbelt and Johnny opened my door for me. Amelia and the kids climbed out and gave me one last hug until Christmas.

"This was the best vacation ever Penny." Amelia said

"It was but it's not the last."

"That it's not." Amelia replied smiling whilst fighting back tears.

"I'll see you all in December."

Johnny pulled me into a hug and kissed my temple.

"See you in December, baby girl."

"See you in December."

I grabbed my bags and walking into the check in line. After I checked in I turned around and there were still standing there. I waved to them and they waved back. They got back into the car and after one last wave Johnny drove off. I walked into the airport and headed to my gate.

I sat listening to my Ipod waiting for my flight to board. I had my carry on and some snacks.

'Now boarding for flight SEA7654'

I grabbed my bag and walked to the gate.

"Ticket please." Shirley TSA agent asked

I handed her my ticket and she scanned it.

"Alright, first class. In you go and thank you for choose Delta for your travel needs. Have a safe flight." Shirley

"Thank You, you have a wonderful day."

I walked onto the plane and quickly found my seat. I put my earbuds back into my ear and leaned my seat back and zoned out.

I felt someone tapping my shoulder.

"Miss, Miss."

I opened my eyes and the flight attendant was looking down at me.

"We've landed."

"I'm sorry. I didn't realize I fell asleep."

I grabbed my carry on and got off the plane. I walked to baggage claim and picked up my suitcases. After powering on my phone; I noticed I had three missed

calls and five text messages.

Text Message

'Miss you already, December can't come fast enough.' Amelia

'Have you landed yet?' Johnny

'I'm on my way; I should be outside when you come out.' Emmett

'I'm excited for this concert, Joan Jett's music is amazing.' Leah

'Sorry we couldn't link up in California. We'll link up later.' Chels and Tiff

I walked out of SeaTac Airport and saw Emmett standing there waiting. He walked up to be and hugged me tight.

"Emm, I can't breathe."

"Sorry, I missed you so much."

"I missed you too."

He grabbed my bags and put them on the back seat and he opened my door. I climbed in and buckled up and he got in and drove off. He grabbed my hand in his and kissed the back of my hand.

"So, how was California. Tell me everything."

I retold him all about my summer vacation and all the sights we saw and the activities we did. I talked until I fell asleep.

July 23rd Swan Residence 10:55am

I awoke in my bed at Charlie's house.

'Huh, I guess he thought I'd want to sleep in my own bed.'

I went through my morning routine and went downstairs. Charlie was sitting at the table drinking a cup of coffee.

"Good Morning Charlie."

"Good Morning Penny."

I walked over to the coffeemaker and poured me a cup and popped a cinnamon raisin bagel in the toaster.

"Question. Well more like one question and one statement."

Charlie folded his newspaper and looked at me

"Shoot."

"Okay, Emmett brought me inside and put me to bed."

"Yes, he did. Bella was the one who put you in your pajamas. He was also nice enough to put your clothes away. I take it you washed everything before coming back here."

"Yea, I hate doing laundry. Only thing dirty was what I wore on the plane. I'll have to thank Bella when I see her. Speaking of...where is she?"

"She went over to the Cullen's place."

"Ahhh, I should've known."

I went back to the toaster and grabbed my bagel and the cream cheese. I pulled out my phone and texted Bella

'Hey, thanks for putting my pajamas on. Charlie would've had a heart attack if Emm undressed me. lol"

'No problem. He definitely would've.'

I texted Chelsea and Tiffany and told them to meet me at the diner to swap souvenirs. I texted Leah next to let her know to be ready because we're driving down first thing in the morning.

"Charlie, I'm going to meet up with my friends from school and get the film from my camera developed. I'll see you later and tell you all about my trip and show you the pictures I took."

"Sounds like a plan. I'm headed to the station for a few hours."

"Okay, hey did they ever find that animal that murdered Waylon?"

Charlie had a sadness in his eyes.

"No, not yet and there hasn't been anymore animal attacks so we don't know what it is."

"I'm sorry I brought it up. I was just curious." I placed my hand on his shoulder.

"No, it's okay."

I walked upstairs and grabbed my camera film rolls, the souvenirs and the keys to my car. I came back down and Charlie was already gone. I locked up and walked to Jesse and left. I dropped off my film to get developed first and picked up two photo albums for them. I pulled up to the diner and got out. As I walked inside I was grabbed into a bear hug by Chelsea and Tiffany.

"Oh my, I missed you so much." Chels said

"Wait a minute. Is...Is that a nose piercing?" Tiffany asked

Chelsea looked at me and her eyes got wide

'You got your nose pierced?!" Chels said

"Yup, I got it done with Amelia. She got hers pierced and she added on to her sleeve."

"Check you out, Mz Bad Ass. She's gone for a month and got a piercing. You hiding any tattoos under there." Tiff asked

"No, no tattoos yet. I promised Johnny and Amelia I'd waiting until I'm 18."

"Ohhh okay." Tiff said

"You don't have a problem with tattoos, do you?" I asked both of them..

"Girl, please my mom has 5 tattoos. " Chels said

"No, I know my aunt has a butterfly on her leg. " Tiff said

"Oh alright. I'm just asking."

We grabbed and table and swapped souvenirs and stories.

"We should take a road trip next summer. Map out where to go and what to do." Tiffany said

"Yea, it'll be the last hurray before heading off to college." Chels said

"Oh that sounds amazing. We'd have to plan later. I promised I'd be there for Emmett."

"Why, is everything alright?" Chels asked

"Yea, what's wrong with the Greek Adonis?" Tiff said.

"He's...hold up. You did not just call my boyfriend a Greek Adonis."

"Girl, every girl in the school calls Emmett and his two brothers Greek Adonis'." Tiffany said

"Well, damn. Okay yea it's true but just remember he's MY GREEK ADONIS!"

"Roger that." Tiff said

"Anyway, what about Emmett?"

"As I was saying, you all know Dr. and Mrs. Cullen adopted Emmett and his siblings. Emmett has decided to research and find what's left of his birth family."

"Aww, so you're being the supportive girlfriend." Chels said

"Yep"

We talked for a little while longer before going our separate ways. I went back and picked up my pictures. I noticed that I had pictures from my birthday party on one of the rolls. I paid for my pictures and went home. I got back to the house and Bella's truck was there. When I went inside Bella was in the kitchen with Edward

"Hey Edward."

"Hello Penny. How was your vacation?"

"Yea, How was California? Wait did you get your nose pierced?"

Edward and Bella stared at my new facial accessory

"I sure did. Isn't it cute."

"Yea, I guess so. I would've never pegged you for a piercing person." Bella said

"It was a spur of the moment decision. Amelia and I both got it done."

I launched into telling them all about my vacation and showing them the corresponding pictures.

"That's wonderful Penny, I'm glad you have a great time." Bella said

"Thanks, After my concert I plan on coming over to tell the rest of the family about my vacation."

"I'm sure their anxious to hear it." Edward replied

"What did you want for dinner, Bells or is Edward taking you out?"

"I didn't plan anything for us tonight." Edward said

"How about a pot of your Chili? You haven't made it for Charlie yet." Bella asked

"Oh yea, I haven't. One pot of Five Alarm Chili coming up."

I went through the cabinets and refrigerator to see if everything was readily available or if I had to make a trip to the store. I had to pick a few things for it so I left and went to the store. At the store I got everything I needed plus a little extra. I made it back home and prepped everything. Once everything was combined into one pot I put the burner on low so to simmer and went to take a shower. I came back downstairs and organized my photos into their appropriate albums. Charlie walked into the house 45 minutes later. By that time Edward had already left. I dished out the chili and we ate in silence. Bella offered to do clean up duty. I cleaned all the knives before letting her finish. I walked into the living room and sat next to Charlie.

"Ready to hear all about my vacation."

"Sure Penny."

I told him all about my vacation along with the pictures. After that I went upstairs to pack a bag for tomorrow. I got into my room and Emmett was laying on my bed.

"Hey, babe. I'm sorry for falling asleep on you."

"It's okay, I figured you'd be jet lagged." Emm said

I looked at the clock it was 8:45pm. I put together my concert outfit and my outfit for the drive down. I put my concert outfit and the tickets into my satchel and laid out my clothes for the drive there. I was super excited. I climbed into bed with Emmett. He pulled me closer.

"I love the nose piercing by the way. It makes you look so much hotter." he said

He kissed me. He ran his fingers through my hair. He rolled on top of me and started to grind on me. He got aggressive with his kisses. He moved to my collarbone.

"Wait, Emm..."

"hmmm." He said whilst placing kisses along my neck.

"I know you...I know you missed meeee..." He started lightly biting my neck.

"Babe, I know you got needs but...but I'm...I'm..." A soft moan escaped my lips as he used his knees to spread my legs apart and grind his pelvis into mine.

"I'm not doing this in Charlie's house. I will not disrespect him like that."

"Come on, babe we did it at my house." Emm whispered

"You mean your house, with the gifted vampire who can soundproof a room, the gifted vampire who can forseen if someone were to interrupt us. The gifted vampire that can read minds. The house full of vampires who can be there just in case you get too rough and pull you off me in time. That house?"

"Okay, I see your point but after this concert, you're sexy ass is staying at my house until you go back to school." Emm said

"Aye Aye Captian."

"Go to sleep, smartass." Emm said

"Better a smartass than a dumbass."

"Touche" Emm replied

July 24th 9am Swan Residence

I was sitting in the kitchen eating a light breakfast whilst talking to Emmett.

"Thanks btw for bringing Jesse back here."

"I know you'd go crazy if it wasn't in your eyesight." Emm replied

"No, I knew it was in good hands with Rosie."

We talked about a few random topic whilst I finished my breakfast and cleaned the kitchen. I grabbed my satchel and left a note for Bella and Charlie. I kissed Emmett bye.

"See you tomorrow babe." Emm said

"Tomorrow."

He then walked into the forest and took off for home. I drove toward La Push.

I got there by 9:50. I texted Leah.

'I'm outside. Let Rock and Roll babe'

'Be down in 15. I'm getting dressed.'

'Kay'

I sat in the car listening to Joan Jett when I heard a knock on my driver's side window. I looked up and it's Jared.

'Shit! Leah told me that Paul and Jared started hanging with Sam'

"Hey, Jared, right?"

"Yea, What's up Penny? How've you been?" Jared replied

"I've been well."

"That's nice to hear. Are you going to be here for a minute?"

"Yes..."

"Cool, I'll be right back." Jared said. He then took off running through the trees

'Shit! He's probably going to find Paul. Shit. Shit. SHIT!'

I pulled out my phone and texted Leah..

'Mujer, date prisa. He side visto por el Puerto de observación de Paul.-

'Idk what that means. What about Paul?'

'His lookout flunky Jared has spotted me and I think he went to go get him. Remember you said he has Jared looking out for me. VAMOS AHORA!'

'CRAP! I'm on my way out now.'

I saw the door open and Leah rush out. I pulled out as soon as she got in. I waved bye to her mother and brother and I burned rubber. I put the petal to the metal and got the hell out of La Push. Once I cleared La Push I got onto the highway out of town.

"Whew, that was close."

"Girl, why are you dreading seeing Paul? I thought you were over him" Leah asked

"Not so much dreading as to stalling. I'll see Paul on my terms only. I don't like that he has people looking out for me for him. When I want to see him. I will and not a damn day sooner."

"So how was California?" She asked

I told her all about my vacation and everything. She grabbed my photo albums off the back seat.

"I can't believe you got your nose pierced." Leah said

"Looks good though, right?"

"Really good. Honestly. I'd figure your ass get a tattoo before the piercing." Leah said

"I thought about it but I haven't fully decided on what yet. Also I think I'll have Tiffany draw it up for me. That girl can draw."

"That a cool idea." Leah replied

Leah lounged back in her seat and dozed off. I sang quietly along to the radio.

Portland, Oregon Crowne Plaza Portland-Downtown Convention Center 2:55pm

I woke Leah up and walked into the hotel. I checked into our rooms. We walked in silence up to our hotel room. Once into our room Leah crashed back out.

I laid down as well an set an alarm so we have plenty of time to eat before the concert.

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP 5:30pm

I got up stretched and yawned. I grabbed my toiletries bag and went to shower. I got out and woke Leah up.

"Leah come on, get your ass in the shower. It's 5:30 we still need to eat before the show at 8pm."

"Alright, I'm up."

She went to shower by the time she got out she was fully awake. I was already dressed and doing my hair and make up. The excitement started to bubble up.

"Oh gosh, I'm soooo excited."

"Me too." Leah replied

There was a knock at the door. I went to look through the peep hole. It was room service. I opened the door.

"I didn't order anything." I looked at his name tag and it sais Edgar

"Miss, It was already put into place beforehand by a Dr. Cullen." Edgar said

"Oh okay, thank you."

"You're very welcome" Edgar replied as he was leaving.

I texted Carlisle "Thanks for the room service."

"I didn't order room service. That must have been Emmett"

'The bell boy said a Dr. Cullen set it up.'

'Ahh, I see what happened. Emmett used my name to book everything.'

'Damn, Doc you got it like that down here too.'

'I can asure you that isn't the case.'

'This is Esme; He's just being modest. Dr. Carlisle Cullen is well respected in the Pacific Northwest'

'Oh okay. See you all when I get back.'

'We look forward to it.'

I shot off a quick thanks babe text to Emmett and dug into the food. Leah had already finished her meal.

"You know, my family may not like the Cullen's for what they are but I can't deny that they take care of the people they love. Almost like a real family" Leah replied

"No, like a real family. The Cullen family is just like yours. They have their fair share of drama. The only difference is they're a family that have supernatural abilities."

We finished up the food and headed out to the Wonder Ballroom.

"You're welcome. Come on let's go back to the hotel."

We got back to the hotel a little after 11pm.

"I'm surprised you didn't try to get an autograph or picture." Leah said

"I have her autograph on the guitar Emm bought me for my birthday. As for a pic...well you saw how packed it was a how far from the stage we were. We were like 5 rows back. I wouldn't gotten the opportunity."

"True that." Leah replied laughing.

"Goodnight."

"Goodnight" Leah replied

Leah decided to sleep the car ride home. I didn't mind the quiet gave me time to think.

La Push, Washington 4:30 pm

Finally made it back after having to refuel. I dropped Leah off and with a honk of my horn drove off. I went back to Charlie's house and grabbed a few things.

Charlie was in the living room.

"Hey Charlie, I'm going to the Cullen's I miss Rose, Ali and Esme. I'll be back later in the week."

"Alright, be safe. I see you when you get back." Charlie replied not taking his eyes off the TV. I shook my head. I got back into my car and drove to the Cullen's. After 45 minutes I pulled into the driveway. They were all standing there waiting. Emmett came around and opened my car door. He leaned down and kissed me on the lips.

"Missed you." Emm said

"Missed you too."

I found myself being passed around to each member of the family. Emmett grabbed my bag and went to put it in his room. I had my satchel with the photo albums in it.

"The nose piercing looks so rad on you Penny." Bash said

"Thanks, dude."

"What made you decide that?" Rose asked

"Idk...It was a spur of the moment thing with Amelia. They said hello btw."

"That was courteous of them." Carlisle replied

"Emmett, Edward and Bella y'all already heard my story."

"Yea, it can't hurt to listen to it again. It was very interesting." Edward replied

"Yea, and I can listen to you talk for hours babe." Emmett saud

They all got comfortable. I pulled out my photo albums and handed to Alice who was on the left and Carlisle who was on the right. The family passed around the albums whilst I retold the story of my vacation. I spared no detail. The hiking, backpacking, and the paragliding to Johnny spraining his ankle. We laughed and had a good evening whilst I reminisced about this best summer ever.

'I wonder how I'm going to top next year.'
