Well, before I start, I want to respond to a guest review about me seeing some similarities between Link and Zel.

It wasn't the ears, it was mostly the physical (hair, eyes, and posture somewhat), with him looking similar to BOTW Link mostly, it's why I say they look identical. Though that's just me, and each person views things differently, so it's not too out there to believe that at the very least, Zel had some inspiration taken from Link and your generic Elf. Well, that's all I have to say, I hope you enjoy this chapter.

Exiting the town, well more city, was easier than I thought. While it took a bit to find the exit to the north, with some questions being asked, I eventually found the exit, and left the town, to find these slimes, and make the northern road safer. I would guess that the forest actually starts about thirty feet away from the gate if I were to guess.

I slowly walk down a road, looking around the area around me curiously. While I haven't seen anything of note, I need to stay on guard, as I don't know where these slimes are, or what to expect really. I mean, other than wondering about that thing, the area is very beautiful. The trees are tall, with leaves that seem to be a mix of a spike, and an average leaf shape. What's interesting to me, is that the leaves are all a blueish purple in color, but hey, that makes them unique. If I could and wasn't locked in this world, I would take a few saplings back to Kokiri Forest, so the Kokiri could have a few new types of trees to multiply and make it more beautiful.

I just walk for about half an hour, admiring the sights, when I notice a trail of a strange liquid. I stop to examine it, it feels spongy, yet flexible and hard at the same time. It must be a trail of slime, the creatures I am to deal with.

The trail goes into the forest, off the main road, with the slime leaving a path to the east of me. I follow the trail, keeping my eyes open and ears perked, body tense to react to these potential enemies.

After a few minutes of following the trail, and I reach a slime-covered opening, with a small pile of gold, and a couple of gems at the center. What.

I look around, confused by this. Then I see them, balls of slime, in a variety of colors, red, blue, green, yellow, black, white, purple, and a couple of rainbow-colored slimes. They all look like a ball, but slimy and small, but they seem strange as if scared about something.

Usually, when a monster is scared, there is something up, that I won't know until they are gone. So I begin taking out the slimes, who seem to end their huddling, as well as slimes, can do anyway, and counter-attack me with shots of balls of slime, which I dodge, block, and swipe away, and they are all quickly slain, except for one rainbow slime, with a crown on its head.

It looks around, and begins summoning it's comrades slimy remains, and begins to grow in mass, before it becomes half the trees size, and width.

The big slime jumps up into the air, intent on crushing me, so I fire an ice arrow at it, and freeze is, and hit it with the Megaton Hammer, shattering it into smaller chucks, which start to reform, so I destroy the chucks, well as many as I could, and watch the slime reform, into a much smaller slime, and the process repeats, before it is fully dead, and the slime chucks melt into the ground, signifying its death.

I don't belive this is over yet, based on the slimes initial hesitation when I came here, so I keep my ears open, not trusting it's over yet, and that's when I hear a sort of cry, and the flapping of wings, as whatever it is, comes closer to me. I wait, until the last moment, then roll to the side, and watch as a dark shape crashes into the ground, kicking dust up everywhere, obscuring it.

I wait for the dust to settle, wanting to see this creature, to see what it is, and oh boy, it looks odd.

Its main body is akin to a cat, but massive, with muscles that speak of strength, a mane around the head, with an eagle-like beak, it's for paws having sharp, retractable talons, a tail with a small mace-like object, and to powerful, spiked leather looking wings, and when it roars at me, a glob of what I presume to be acid is fired from it, hitting a nearby tree, and causing it to collapse, as it quickly melts from the hit.

If I fight this thing, I will have to be careful, mainly because of the acid and the mace tail.

The creature roars at me, and takes flight, before doing a fly-by, shooting off a few balls of acid at me.

I quickly roll out of the way, shooting a couple of arrows in retaliation at the monster, one of the arrows hitting it's left-wing, causing a small tear to form in it.

Clearly, the monster doesn't like what happened to its wing, and roars at me, spitting multiple balls of acid at me, and as I dodge them, it flies down and hits me in the left arm with its tail, making me spin into a tree. Obviously, that doesn't feel good, and I heard a crack come from my left arm, not broken, but probably going to need some healing after this.

It once again spits a ball of acid at me, and I dodge it, and at the same time, rolling a lit bomb at it, and I watch the bomb explode before the monster could react or notice it's presence. I quickly run-up to the monster, as it's still in the smoke, and slash at where I believed its tail to be, and I am rewarded with a loud screech, and the sound of something landing on the ground, as it flings me away with it's torn wing. As the smoke clears, I see that while I did hit the tail like I hoped I would, I also cut off its left back leg, as I can see it looking at me with rage consuming its eyes.

It flies at me, Wings spread out, and a ball of acid ready to fire, so I jump over it, and watch it crash into a tree, causign it to splinter into peices, and the monster to turn around, looking furious.

It proceeds to spit multiple balls of acid at me, and one ball of acid hits my Shield, while it doesn't melt it, it definitly will need to be looked at afterwards for damage. It then takes advagate of the situation, and jumps at me, clawing with its front legs, and scratch my shield, and my right arm, not badly, but enough to feel it. It flies away, to ready a dive bomb with an acid ball forming in its mouth, and I pull out my bow again, and ready an ice arrow, and as it begins its dive bomb, I fire true, and hit its right wing, then I quickly run up to it, and hit the frozen wing with the Megaton hammer, shattering tyhe right wing into icy, meaty chucks with blood spurting out, and the beast swiping at me, knocking me backwards.

I quickly recover, landing on my feet, as the monster screeches in rage at me, before it starts to dash at me, and as I wait for it to reach me, I ready my sword and jump over it as it reaches me, and I slash at it, cutting the monster in half as it hits the tree, and its body begins to splits in half, blood and guts coming out of it, as it dies. I walk over to it, and investigate it, and cut off its beak, to question about the monster.

As I finish burying the monster, so it's body can give the ground it's essence, and thus feed more of nature, I hear a squishing of something, and I turn around to see another slime, but instead of being a ball, it looks more humanoid, albeit a humanoid female. She is a bright pink slime girl, which is really the only thing I can say about her. Though the top of her head, where her hair os lime is, has a crown-like shape, akin to a princess crown.

"You... You killed the monster and the slimes." She, obvious by her lack of clothing, revealing her privates, as I just stare at her face. "Thank you. I tried to remove them both from here multiple times, but whenever I came close to it, the slimes ran, and the monster came and tried to kill me. I only avoided it, as I can hide underneath the roots of the tree, but I wanted to remove them and claim this spot, so I could try and meet others." She says, her voice akin to a squishy ball that's wet, yet feminine enough to be identified as a female.

I just rub the back of my head, "It's not too much of a problem, I was asked to clear out the slimes, and the monster was clearly a threat as well. May I ask your name, ma'am?" I ask politely, but keeping myself ready to move if need be.

"I am Sernas. Again, thank you again sir, and may I know your name as well?" Sernas asks, looking at me in a way I can't explain.

"My name is Link, Sernas. I must go now, and report my success. I wish you a great day, and for you to stay safe." I say before I begin to walk out of the clearing, the monster's beak in my left hand.

"Bye Link, I think we will meet again." Sernas says, sounding hopeful.

"Maybe we will, one day." I say as I leave the clearing, heading back to the city to turn in my quest.

Reentering the city, and heading back to the guild, I walk up to the counter to turn in the quest.

"Excuse me Ms. Carline, I have returned."

"Ah Link, welcome ba- Is that a beak you have?" She turns and begins to greet me, only to look on surprised by what I am carrying.

"Yes, I went to the quest location, and when I finished off the slimes, a big creature attacked me, and I took its beak to ask what the hell it was."

"You must have encountered a Rookie Killer, a novice to be exact, based on the lack of scaring on it's beak. You can tell if it's an older veteran or a young novice based on that, but they are still dangerous regardless. Anyway, your reward for completing the quest, and a bonus for turning in a Rookie Killer beak." At that, she hands me ten Elf Coins and twenty Cats Coins. "The bonus for killing a Rookie Killer is usually five Elf Coins, and the quest you did was a simple one, so it was worth Five Elf and twenty Cat Coins. Congratulations on completing your first quest though! Go celebrate for putting your first step in as an adventurer, or go find yourself another quest, whatever you wish." Carline says, trying to be positive, yet she seems bored by saying it.

"Okay, Ms. Carline." I say, leaving the guild, to head to Mediris Tavern.

I enter the Tavern and head straight to a board with quests and bounties since the boards are all kept close together, from what I could tell at least, though it's a bit difficult to reach them, as for some reason half the tavern seems to be hanging around them currently.

Forcing my way through, I find that they are all staring at sheets of paper that seem useless, so I ignore them, and grab a quest, another beginner's level, and walk back to the guild, and leave the tavern to go back to the guild.

"Ah, back already with a quest you wish to take?" Ms. Carline asks, slightly surprised to see me so soon. I guess most adventures take a break after a quest.

"Yeah, I grabbed a quest that seemed simple enough." I say, handing her the quest paper.

"The quest you wish to take on will have you deliver a shipment of fire Magmastones from Volcano Land, while its a beginner quest, it can be dangerous if not properly prepared, or you aren't on guard. Oh, it's also been paid for in advance by the Ale n' Eats Tavern, so you just go there, and pick it up, and bring it back. Be careful out there Link. Oh, and in order to get there, take the south exit, and follow the road." She says, handing me the back the quest paper, which it also says that the location to get them, is next to Fire Dragons Fem-Flesh BBQ. Hey, at least it tells me where I will have to look when I arrive.

"I will be back, and hey, it's a good experience to see more of the land, after all." I say, exiting the guild.

I know, how dare I leave it on such a short chapter, but most beginners quests will be like this.

The Rookie Killer design was based on the Griffin Design from the Witcher 3, with a few additions of my own.

I hope this chapter was at least decent, albiet short, but I hope you guys liked it.
