Before the Lava Pit
In the kitchen, Gaara is taking a sip of water from his cup when Kankuro passes by, suddenly pushing the cup towards Gaara's face—all in the name of a spur of the moment joke.
Reflexively gripping the cup tightly to prevent its contents to pour all over his face, Gaara glares at his older brother.
Kankuro grins, unrepentant. Backing away from Gaara, he watches his youngest brother, waiting, expecting for him to attack.
But Gaara just follows him with his sharp gaze.
Kankuro knows that look for he always instigate this cat and mouse game between them.
Backing away from the kitchen towards the living room, with Kankuro's eyes never leaving Gaara, he bumps into a low lying table. Hearing something crash to the floor, Kankuro is forced to look away from Gaara to peer at his feet.
Seeing the framed photo, face down, Kankuro stretches his hands towards Gaara, forming a T with them, he signals for time out.
Squatting down to pick the photograph, Kankuro then raises and inspects it.
It is a picture of the Kazekage with his three sons. The glass on the picture frame seems intact except for the tiny, tiny crack over Kamaru's head.
"Phew," Kankuro mutters, putting the picture frame back on the low table. "Nobody would notice that."
