Are animals food or friends? part 1
Last time on Total Drama, Tyranny of the Masses. Twenty four campers come to compete for 1 million dollars in our improved artificial Pahkitew island. Some are old favorites, and some are new faces, well or no faces at all (Appear on the screen an image of Dramaman). For their first challenge, they had to compete crossing a gorge on a rope and compete on who can throw heavier balls at their opponents' net, it was funnier than it sounds.
Cameron took the fall during the challenge. And with fall, I mean falling with 2 of his teammates, failing the challenge, and finally, he took the fall in the campfire ceremony. Hehe, so many falls. I guess his bubble doesn't float. Who will fall in the next challenge? Well, maybe that's for you to decide, after all, viewers are the true masters of this season. This is Total Drama Tyranny of the masses.
It was the day after Cameron's elimination, Brick was already jogging, Dawn was meditating in the forest, Shawn and Jasmine were foraging, Beth was taking a shower, and Dramaman disappeared as usual.
Courtney was the next one to wake up and went out of the cabin. Back in her high school days, she was always the earliest one to arrive at school, she was surprised that here at least 5 people wake up earlier than her.
"Hello, Courtney. I didn't know you were a morning person," said a man in a cordial tone. Ok, she needed to update her count, at least 6 people wake up earlier than her.
The Latin girl looked at him and made a small smile. "Good morning Mike, I thought you liked to sleep until noon." She knew because both were in the same team during the fifth season.
"Hehehe, now I only need to sleep 6 hours, and I'm as good as new. What's more, if I sleep more, I feel tired all day." Mike said with a sheepishly smile. "And how are you? feeling better?"
Courtney raised an eyebrow, surprised by the question. "What do you mean?" she asked in a polite tone.
Mike rubbed his arm, not looking at Courtney's face. "When you arrived, you looked angry and upset. But yesterday you seem, I don't know, better? Sorry if it sounds weird, I didn't mean to bother you."
Courtney's first instinct was to scold him. She was perfectly fine ALL the time. But she made an effort to understand him. "Thanks, Mike, but I am ok. Anyway, thank you for worrying."
Mike made a wide smile and gave a thumbs up to her."No problem, we are a team after all."
Courtney waved as Mike went to the showers. She realized how much work she had to do to stop being a caterpillar and obtain her wings. Maybe coming here was not a bad idea after all.
Confessional: Mike
"Yep, the new Mike is an early bird, I have lots of stamina, coordination and a great memory. All this since that event a year ago. I wanted to discuss this with Cam, but sadly he is not here anymore." Mike said, sighing and then looking with determination at the camera. "So maybe sharing this with millions of viewers will help me to put my thoughts in order. You know, it's may sound weird, but this is really therapeutic."
In the forest, Brick was doing his morning jog. The cadet was looking for Dawn but instead found Shawn and Jasmine foraging. He smiled and shouted at them, jogging in his place.
"They will give you breakfast at the dining hall, there is no need to look for food," shouted Brick in an enthusiastic tone.
Jasmine waved at the cadet."G'Day, Brick. Don't worry, everything is Tikecty-boo." Shawn instead only ignored him.
"Ok? Well, see you later," said Brick jogging away. He wasn't sure what Jasmine has just said, but it sounded that they were ok.
Jasmine smiled and watched Brick going away. "That Brick seems like a good mate, don't you think Shawn?"
Shawn looked at Jasmine, his eyes wide, speaking in an alarmed tone. "Jas, Are you crazy? That guy is one of them. He may have been a good person in the past. But now he is only a brainwashed zombie of the government. You cannot trust someone like that."
Jasmine only rolled her eyes, Shawn was always like that when talking about soldiers, police officers, politicians, lawyers, and dentists. So, for now, she will let him be.
Meanwhile, Brick continued jogging. It was strange, the island was somehow different from yesterday. He kept trying to remember the route he did yesterday. But he must be lost as the big stone he used as a landmark was gone.
But he didn't get dishearted by that. Brick continued jogging, trying to found his way back to the cabins. During his trip, he found Max, who was kicking a rock.
"C'mon, I'm sure it was around here. Open the damn hatch, you useless emergency entrance," shouted Max, waving a fist at the rock, his eyes bulging.
Brick raised an eyebrow while jogging on his place. "Good morning Max, what are you doing?"
Max jumped startled by Brick's voice, "Oh, it's you, Brrrick. How dare you scare me? Don't you know how dangerous it is to scare EVIL? If I wasn't in your debt, I would make you suffer for that."
Brick smiled kindly. "Oh, about that, don't worry. It is part of my code and my duty."
The supervillain looked at him with red eyes and pointing at him. "WHAT? Don't be a fool! What you did was of the utmost importance. You help me, even if I didn't need your help, but you help me nonetheless. So even if I'm EVIL, I will repay you. Only wait, when I conquer the world, I will give you a portion. Maybe Puerto Rico."
Brick sighed, still smiling. "Do as you want, but seriously you don't need to repay me for anything. That you are fine is my best reward," said the cadet, saluting, "now excuse me, I have to end my jogging route."
Max continued kicking the rock while Brick went away, trying to find his way back to the camp. Sometime later, the cadet will wonder why he didn't ask Max about how to go back to the camp.
Confessional: Max
"That soldier, how can he said that it's nothing. He saved the greatest EVIL genius in the world. And EVIL always repays his debts threefold," he said in a high angry tone. He adds in a lower, more normal voice, "Well usually evil repay with vengeance and death, but right now I mean repaying the favor with something good, I mean we are evil, not ungrateful or heartless."
As the day goes on, various campers are taking lunch in the dining hall. On the ferret's table is Charlotte, Topher, and Lilly, on the other table is Beth alone, but not for long.
"How rare that you are not with la señorita[1] Lindsay," said Alejandro sitting next to her. He had had a plate of a red slob with a side of a potato color slob.
"Oh, Hi, Alejandro. Linds is taking a shower, the humidity really messed up her hair. So she will take some time." Beth said, making a shy smile.
The Spaniard smiled. He still had bandaged his head. "That's a shame. I hope it's nothing serious. Her hair is so beautiful."
"I am sure she will be ok," said Beth trying to cut the red slob on her plate, but it was pretty tough, and she was only splashing red drops over her goggles and hands.
"Allow me please," said Alejandro, holding her hands tenderly. "The trick is not putting too much strength. Only put the blade of the knife and focus in slicing that portion and -" in a moment, he cut a slice of the slob. Beth was blushing as he was grabbing her hands.
Alejandro looked at her, tilting his head. "Is something wrong?" The Spaniard asked in a worried tone, realizing that suddenly she was quiet.
Beth blushed, putting her hands under the table."Oh no! No, it's nothing."
Beth knew that Alejandro was dangerous, he was manipulating her like Lesahwna or Bridgette, probably. But he also was so wonderful!
So she took a deep breath and continued their conversation, "Thank you, Alejandro. I will try it by myself." And she continued cutting the slob.
On the ferrets' table, Charlotte changed her seat to be closer to Topher.
The gamer was watching at the foxes couple intensely. "Look, it is not weird that an S tier character like him is wasting playtime in a C tier character like her?"
Topher blinked a couple of times, and then also looked at the couple. "I didn't understand half a thing what you are saying. But you and Lilly must be careful. He is a Casanova and uses it to advance his game." The pretty boy then glared at him, "I would kill for having his charm."
"We know him. We are Total Drama fans." Lilly said in a low voice, almost as if she was ashamed of talking. Then she added in a lower voice, blushing. "He is my second favorite camper."
Charlotte raised an eyebrow and cupped her ear. "What did you say? You have the mute or the volume too low, and I didn't get it."
"Nothing," Lilly answered, still blushing and pressing her lips together.
Then the doors of the dining hall opened, and someone burst into the room. It was Lightning. He grinned as he saw Alejandro, he went and sat across him on the foxes' table.
"Hey Al, Lightning was looking for you. Come and help Lightning with his training routine. It's easier with two people, Sha-bam." said Lightning, interrupting Alejandro and Beth conversation, and posing at the end.
"Ok, just let me put away my plates with this, ehm, cosa extraña que dificilemente puede ser llamada comida and I will go with you," said Alejandro glaring at his food. Then he winked at the brunette girl. "Thanks for joining me for lunch, Beth. See you later."
Alejandro stood up and walked away. While Lightning looked curiously at Beth.
"Hey! Ugly girl. Where is your hot blond friend?" said Lightning, he didn't mean any harm, he was just stupid.
Beth was shocked by the sudden insult and took a moment to process it. But before she could defend herself, someone else did it.
"Lightning, that was rude and uncalled. Apologize to Beth," said Alejandro, in a cold and serious tone.
Charlotte also stood up, frowning."How can you call her that? I thought you were cool, but you are just a toxic player, Lightning."
"Yes, she didn't even talk to you. That's not cool, man." Topher said almost at the same time as Charlotte. Even Lilly was glaring at the athlete.
"Hey, it was just a question. Don't kill the Lightning, Sha-Geez! Sorry glasses girl. Now let's get out of here, Al." said Lightning, strolling out of the hall.
Alejandro looked at Beth with a sad smile."Sorry about that señorita, see you later." And then went after the athlete.
Beth's face was beaming, she bowed at the ferrets. "Thanks, guys, usually I have to defend myself." And keep chatting with them until Lindsay arrived.
Confessional: Topher
"Ok, I usually don't do things like that. But that mean-spirited words could really affect a person. Calling someone ugly is really the worst. I don't regret helping her, but I must be careful in the future. Remember Topher ruthless and mean." Topher said, making a sinister smile.
On the entrance of the woods. Zoey, still depressed about Cameron elimination, was walking absentmindedly around the island. It was so unfair that he must go having people like Heather or Alejandro on their team.
The sound of wood carving took her out of her thoughts. Zoey raised her head and found Duncan carving a skull on a nearby tree. She didn't want to talk with him, so she tried to go away unnoticed.
"Hello, Red. How are you?" said Duncan smirking. So much for getting away unnoticed.
Zoey look at him pouting and frowning. "Don't try to be friendly Duncan, not after eliminating Cam."
Duncan sighed and continued working on his skull. Zoey looked at him with misty eyes. After a moment, he broke the silence.
"I don't know how you know it. But it's true I vote for him. He cost us the challenge. So I kicked him." Duncan said, stepping away from the tree to look at the skull. It looked like the one on his shirt.
Zoey frowned angrily and began to speak on a louder voice. "But, you know he is my friend! You could have voted for anyone else."
"Sorry, Red, but I am not so nice to let him off the hook. Maybe if you had asked me to vote someone else, I would." Duncan smirked and looked Zoey in the eyes.
The Indie girl was speechless, she only wanted to find someone to blame for Cameron elimination, but it was not fair putting it on Duncan. Especially because the only person to blame was her. If only she had done a better job saving him.
The delinquent stepped to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "I know it hurts Red, and we cannot change the past. But maybe I can help you-"
But before he could end his sentence, they were startled by a scream.
"AAAHH! What have you done to this poor fellow? You monster." shouted Dawn, running to the tree Duncan was carving and hugged it.
Duncan blinked a couple of times, "What the hell are you talking about?"
"The tree Duncan, Dawn is talking about the tree that you carved," explained Zoey.
Duncan chuckled and looked at Zoey. "It's a damn tree!" He was sure this was some kind of joke.
"Trees are living things just like you and me. They feel pain the same as us. Would you like it if someone carves a skull on your chest?" said Dawn glaring at him, her small hands clenched on fists.
Duncan made an effort to not smirk, glaring back at her. "Are you threatening me, midget?"
Dawn blanched, she was shocked by the accusation, replying in a trembling voice. "Eh? Of course not. I am not like you. I am against any form of violence,"
Duncan then smirked, shooing her with a gesture of his hand. "Then leave, you are violenting my chat with Red."
"You are one of the rudest, insensible, meanies I ever met." Dawn said her face red in anger. She then grabbed Zoey by her hand. "C'mon Zoey, let's get out of here before he taints us with his aura." Then she began to walk away from Duncan, taking Zoey with her.
"Bye, Duncan, see you later, and thanks," said Zoey as she was taken away by Dawn.
Duncan was left there alone. He shrugged. "What is that midget problem? Well, it doesn't matter, I can always talk later with Red. Now what I will carve next?"
Confessional: Zoey
"I'm still upset about what happened with Cam. But Duncan is right, the only thing I can do is look forward. I will win this game and share a part of the money with him. I can do it. After all, I already won in the past. It will be fun winning a second time." Zoey then made a fist pump and smiled at the camera.
That night Sammy, Sky, and Jasmine were at the campfire. The twin complaining about her sister.
"She followed me all day! She said that we don't spend enough time together and wanted to be sure I would not embarrass myself doing something foolish. She spent the day judging and criticizing everything I did. In the end, we get in a big argument until she decided to go with Lilly," said Sammy in an exhausted tone.
"That's awful! My big sister is mean sometimes. But she is Cinderella compared with Amy." Sky said, snapping a twig and throwing it into the fire.
Jasmine smiled and put a hand on the twin knee. "I was all day with Shawn. Next time come with me, I'm sure she will not dare to bother you if I am near."
"Thanks Jas! I will do that." Sammy said, smiling happily, then turned to the Native Canadian. "And you, Sky, how did you spend your free day?"
Sky eyes went wide and replied stuttering. "I- I was, looking for theeee immunity idol, in the forest. Yes! I was trying to find the immunity idol."
"The immunity idol? I forgot about them! That's a great idea Sky, did you find any of them?" said Sammy, excited. Jasmine looking with a puzzled face at the Olympian.
The Native Canadian kept watching at the fire with a dark expression. "No, nothing. The island is completely different now. The ice mountain, the mud river, all is gone. I still cannot find my way on the island."
"Well, if Shawn and we join forces. I'm sure we can find at least 1 idol," said Sammy, trying to cheer Sky.
Sky forced herself to smile and look excited."Thanks, Sammy! You are such a good friend. Let's do it!" the gymnast knew that this will not work, especially as they were some issues she needed to solve first with Shawn.
Jasmine smiled at them, adjusting her hat. "Well, let's start looking for it tomorrow. Right now, let's forget about the competition and enjoy our time together." the girls then start to talk about her life outside the island. Sammy tried to not talk about Amy, but it was impossible.
Confessional: Jasmine
Jasmine is leaning forward, so she is on the camera ."Sky has been nervous since arriving at the island, and now that furphy story about the immunity idol. I am sure she has her reasons, but she has to trust us a little more. For now, I need to talk with Shawn. There is no way Sky will open to us if my boyfriend hates her." said the Aussie looking at the roof and touching her chin.
As time passed, the campers were going to their cabins to sleep. Cody was practicing shuffling cards. He brought a deck to practice magic tricks but spent the afternoon playing (and losing) in poker against Heather, right now owning 10 dollars to the Asian girl.
Now that Heather went to take a shower. Cody can practice his shuffling. The brunette guy took the deck and shuffled it, letting the cards fall from one hand to the other.
"Wow, that was like magic," said Lindsay sitting in front of Cody.
Cody winked at her."Oh, nothing like that, is only a shuffle technique, real magic come later."
"Hehe, that's sound like totally interesting. I once tried to do magic, but my teacher said that I was like better suited to be a magician assistant. But I didn't like the outfit, so I left." Lindsay said, shrugging. "By the way, what was your name?"
Cody raised an eyebrow, "My name is Cody, Lindsay. We were together in two shows, and in the first one, we were on the same team."
"Of course I remember you, don't be silly," said Lindsay, chuckling. "And then on world tour, you were in Heather team. I remember you, only that I believed your name was Kole."
Cody chuckled and shook his head."How can you mix Cody and Kole?"
"It is easy! When I see you, you look like Kole. But I know I usually misremember names, so it is better to ask," said Lindsay showing a beautiful smile.
Cody was charmed by her. If she didn't have a boyfriend, he would surely make a move. Well, more like surely, let's say that perhaps.
Cody shuffled the cards one more time. He then noticed than outside the show, he also didn't know much about Lindsay. "And what are you doing lately? Aside from appearing on reality shows?"
Lindsay smiled proudly. "Oh, I'm studying Business Management and part-time working as a model."
"Really?" said Cody, surprised by her of all people studying a major.
Lindsay tilted her head, looking confused at him. "Of course, why do you say it like that?"
Cody winced, not prepared for that comeback. He cannot tell the truth, that he thought she was not smart enough to study.
While Cody was suffering to find an answer, Amy and Lilly were walking toward their cabin, passing near the table where the brunette guy and the blond girl were chatting. The redhead gasped when she saw them.
"What happened now, Lilly, another squirrel?" asked Amy. Lilly has the habit of gasping when she sees something that she likes.
"Look, Amy. It's Cody!" said Lilly in an excited and low voice.
Amy gazed at him, trying to remember him from TV or something but to no avail. "Who?"
"You don't know him? He is very popular on his tube channel, 'Living like a Codster.' And is also an ex-member of the Drama Brothers," said Lilly with wide eyes, trying to contain her excitement.
"I think it is the first time I heard you talking this much," Amy said, folding her arms and smirking. "But sorry, doesn't ring a bell. But ask Samey, she surely knows him."
Lilly grabbed Amy's sleeve. "Please, can you ask him for an autograph?"
"Eh? Why don't you do it yourself?" Amy frowned.
Lilly shook her head wildly. "Oh, no, no, no, no, I can't do that. I will die if I talk to him right now. I'm not ready." Then she looked at Amy with puppy eyes. "Please, Amy. I'm begging you."
"NO! I can't, and even if I accept. What will he autograph? My shirt?" asked Amy, raising an eyebrow.
Lilly opened her handbag and took out a pink notebook and a pink pen with a unicorn on top. "Please, Amy, please?"
Amy sighed, taking the items from the treehugger hands, and walked to the table. Lilly clapping joyfully behind her. The twin just got close and interrupted Lindsay and Cody's conversation.
"Sorry to interrupt you, Cody. Can you give me your autograph?" said Amy, trying to sound excited, but failing and sounding annoyed instead.
Cody looked at her with wide eyes, flustered because a pretty girl was suddenly asking something from him. "Eh? What? My autograph? Are you sure?"
"Oh, wow, Kole you are famous?" said Lindsay, clapping just like Lilly.
"Yes, you are Cody, right? So please stop smiling like an idiot and sign this." Amy replied, giving him the notebook and the unicorn pen. The twin cringed at the big grin that appears on the geek's face when he saw the pen.
"Ok, do you want a dedicatory?" said Cody. That at that moment was the happiest man on the island.
Amy took a deep breath and tried to sound polite."Yes, please write to Lilly."
Cody put his tongue over his upper lip and write, To my number 1 fan Lilly. The Codemeister.
"Here you go, Lilly, thanks for your support," said Cody winking at Amy.
Amy rolled her eyes. "I'm not Lilly."
"Then Lilly is your twin sister?" said Cody, clearly confused.
Amy raised an eyebrow and clenched her teeth. "No, my sister is SAMEY."
"Then you are Lilly after all?" said Cody scratching his head.
"I think maybe you put the wrong name in the autograph," whispered Lindsay to Cody, but loud enough for Amy to hear.
Amy's veins appear on her temple and then said in a loud voice. "NO! The autograph is right! It's for Lilly, who is not my sister. My sister is Samey, I am Amy, and the redhead there is Lilly. Well, many thanks and bye." She then went back to Lilly, fuming. The redhead bowed politely toward Cody and Lindsay. Before following her.
"I am not sure I understand what just happened," said Cody blinking a couple of times and looking at Lindsay, who was touching her chin with a finger.
"Kole, I was thinking. Is not Sandra your number one fan?" asked Lindsay to Cody, ignoring what just happened.
Cody rolled his eyes. "Her name is Sierra. And c'mon Lindsay is a manner of speaking. I mean that Lilly is a great fan."
Lindsay smiled, nodding. "Ohh! Manner of speaking. I will remember that." said Lindsay.
They keep talking Cody feeling lucky to have spent all day with 2 beautiful girls, and giving his autograph to a third and kinda fourth.
Confessional: Lilly
Lilly is shown hugging her autograph smiling joyfully, she is humming a song and smiling tenderly, and swaying with it left and right.
"I'm forever indebted with Amy for this, maybe next time she can help me to greet him. That would be wonderful," said Lilly before humming again.
The next morning, Shawn waked up. He was forced to sleep inside the cabin, so he took all the measures to protect himself. He chose a bottom bed and put a rope with bells to wake him up in case someone came near.
He skillfully avoids his own trap and comes out of the cabin, finding Brick already stretching before his morning jogging.
"Hello, Shawn. I see you are also a morning person," said Brick, already dressed but without his sunglasses.
"Yes, I prefer to not sleep too much," replied Shawn, who didn't trust the young cadet. "So, you are the first to wake up?"
"No, that is Dramaman. That guy is really an early bird. He had already hit the showers when I got there. He is now training near the river," said Brick, oblivious to Shawn animosity toward him.
"Oh, that's great! I wanted to talk with him. See you later," said Shawn, going away from Brick. He really didn't want to meet the wrestler, but getting away from Brick.
The conspiranoic walked around the woods, foraging some berries, and near the river, he encountered Dramaman. As Brick said, he was training, making some pushups. But even if he was a sportsman, his pushups were mediocre at best.
Shawn was not interested in getting closer to others. But after lying to Brick (even if he deserves it, after all, he is a soldier), he felt obliged to at least greet him.
"It's not a great idea to make pushups today, we will probably get a challenge," said Shawn putting his hands on his pockets, and looking around to be sure there were no zombies in the area.
Dramaman was startled and faced toward him. Bowing in gratitude for the advice.
"Do you never talk? Are you mute or maybe-" Shawn's face blanched, and his eyes went wide in terror.
Dramaman head dropped slightly and then shook his head. Before replying in a deep voice. "I'm shy. So I don't like to talk. And I'm not a zombie."
Shawn narrowed his eyes at him, "That is what a zombie would say to earn a human trust and then, BAM, free brain lunch."
The wrestler chuckled, "then I would need to have a mouth on my mask. Otherwise, I can't bite anyone."
Shawn stared at him. nodding, "That sounds right, ok, I believe you."
Dramaman then went back to his pushups, Shawn cocking his head.
"That training will not help you, you are doing the pushups wrong. When the apocalypse comes, you will not survive. Come with me. I will teach you how to train efficiently." The conspiranoic said with a small smile.
"Why would you help me?" said Dramaman, his expression hidden by his mask.
Shawn scratched his head and sighed before answering, "because I am again in this cursed island. Here I learned that even if the end comes and I survive, it will mean nothing doing it alone. So you can think of it as a whim."
The wrestler followed him, who began to teach him his survival training. Shawn wasn't interested in getting closer to others but was a whimsical man.
Confessional: Shawn
"Well, I don't trust quite yet that guy. But at least he knows about zombies, trains hard, and that mask will make it difficult to bite others in case he turned into a zombie. And also I will need help in case we have to vote that soldier out of the game," said Shawn, folding his arms and nodding.
Heather was going out of the showers. Probably more than the bad food and the terrible beds, the worst about taking part in this show was communal bathrooms. At least they were segregated by gender, so the worst she could find was a ferret girl. Or Beth.
She watched herself in the mirror. In the past, she hated to look at herself. Even in her best moment, she sometimes watched herself and was not sure if the woman returning the gaze was truly her.
And then the tragedy, she lost her hair in this stupid TV show. From that moment on, she stopped watched herself entirely.
But now, especially this last year, just look at her. She was better than ever. Her hair was almost back as she liked it. Her body was better and more fit. And she felt happy with herself. Now, if only she could take that million home, all will be perfect.
The Queen bee dried her hair as another person go out of the showers, it was one of those blond twins cheerleaders. What were their names? It didn't matter to her, she continued drying her long and beautiful hair.
"Stop grinning like an idiot, you are creeping me out," said Amy glaring at the Queen Bee.
Heather smirked, it seemed like this little girl had guts. "It's better to smile than frown like that. You are already getting wrinkles on your forehead."
"I AM NOT!" said Amy looking careful her forehead for signs of wrinkles.
Heather chuckled. It was so easy to mess with these ones. It was like a mirror of herself years ago.
The older twin scowled at the queen bee. "You are laughing at me, aren't you? You are trying to mock me only because I am better and more beautiful than you."
Heather continued smirking and began to brush her hair to make her braid. "You are too impulsive. Too eager to prove yourself. You should see the greater picture if you really want to get what you want."
"What are you babbling about? Are you stupid?" said Amy, not noticing she was frowning again.
Heather chuckled again, and finish making her braid. "Stupid? Is that really the best you could come? You should be the meanest girl in the kindergarten. You're the stupid one, you could be great, but you need to be smart. Choose your battles and plan ahead, and maybe then you can stop being a poser and become a winner."
Amy was fuming, no one ever dared to humiliate her like this."HOW DARE YOU-"
"Stop there. You are shouting. It is already your loss. Save some face, try to learn how to think, and come back later. I have high expectations in you," said Heather as she went to put her clothes.
Heather smiled before going away. It was true, she was at her best, she only needs to plan her movements and choose her fights. This may be her season again.
Confessional: Amy
The older twin is glaring at the scene. "HOW DARE THAT OLD HAG TO MAKE A FOOL OF ME. Just wait for the merge I will make her repent of making me her enemy."
In the cafeteria, some Ferrets and Foxes were taking breakfast. Zoey, Dawn, Cody, Brick, Sammy, and Shawn get the best breakfast as they were more popular in the last popularity pool.
On the foxes side, Heather was not there, Lightning was with Alejandro, Cody was with Beth and Lindsay, and Zoey with Mike. Courtney was alone on one side until Dawn approached her.
"May I sit here?" said the moonchild with a small smile at the L.I.T.
Courtney raised both eyebrows surprised and moved her tray to give the blond girl some space. "Yes, of course."
Dawn sat and bowed her head. She was eating a salad with some lettuce, avocado, tomato, orange, and asparagus.
"Do you want some?" said Dawn, smiling tenderly at the Latin girl.
"No, it's your reward for being popular, it would not be fair," replied Courtney, looking at the salad and the at the slob in her plate. What was it supposed to be? Meat? Or fat? Or maybe something else?
"Don't be so strict. I want to share it. If it makes it easier for you, think of it as a token of my gratitude for helping me on the last challenge." Dawn said, pushing her bowl nearer to the Latin Girl.
Courtney looked confused at her, raising an eyebrow. "Sorry, but I don't follow you." She didn't remember doing anything to help her.
The moonchild smiled, her eyes were full of gratitude. "In the throwing challenge, you notice I was having problems throwing. So you ask me to help Cody so I could be useful to the team. Instead of keeping quiet and later blame me for losing. That was very kind of you."
The L.I.T also made a small smile. She was touched by Dawn's honesty. "I may have done that for my own selfish reasons, no to help you."
"Even then, you help me. Cannot I be grateful for that?" replied Dawn, looking intently at Courtney.
Courtney sighed, defeated. "You win, I give up. Thanks for sharing." She then took a tomato slice.
Then someone came and put his tray across the girls.
"Hello there, is this seat occupied?" said Duncan sitting and smirking.
"Yes, it is. Now please go away," said Dawn before Courtney could answer.
Duncan glared at the moonchild. "I was talking with Courtney, Midget."
Dawn looked at the delinquent eyes with a serious expression. "And I was talking with you. You are tainting our breakfast with your foul presence. Please go away before the universe puts you in your place."
"Are you still butt-hurt by what happened yesterday?" said Duncan raising an eyebrow.
Courtney chuckled, she wasn't expecting they knew each other and much less like this. "What happened yesterday?"
"This brute was mutilating poor and defenseless trees, for FUN." Dawn said in a distressed voice.
Duncan cut and eat a piece of his slob. "Hey, I was just carving them. Anyway, why so much drama? They are just trees."
Dawn pouted, glaring at the delinquent. "Just trees? JUST TREES? They are living beings just like you. No, excuse me for that. They are better than you because they don't harm or hurt others just for fun."
There was an awkward silence, Duncan glared at her and stood up. "Ok, don't be so dramatic, I will go away, happy?"
He is not as bad as he seems, deep, very deep inside, he has a heart of gold. Courtney thought. She at least used to think that before he betrayed her. But now she was not sure what to believe. But the idea of defending him before Dawn disappeared as soon as it appeared.
"That rude and mean person, I can't believe you used to date someone like him," said Dawn still pouting.
Courtney blushed, and almost choked with her food. "WHAT? Why do you know what happen between us?"
"Because my grandfather is a big fan of the show. So I more or less knew all about you and the other campers. That is also the reason why I send my audition tape." Dawn said, lifting her face proudly.
Courtney felt mortified. The thought of people knowing how she was on the past seasons, or that she used to date and then was cheated by Duncan stressed her. But instead of saying that, she put a front and continue their conversation as if nothing had happened.
At the same time, on the other table, Jasmine was taking breakfast with Sammy and Sky. On the opposite said of the table, were Max, Topher, and Charlotte. The supervillain ignored the gamer and the pretty boy who was making some small talk. Shawn, Dramaman, Jay, and Brick haven't come back from the woods, and Amy and Lilly were still on the showers.
"Maybe we should tell Topher to sit with us," said Sammy, looking at him out of the corner of her eye, "he seems a little down this season."
Jasmine raised an eyebrow, perplexed by the idea."Topher? That narcissist Chris wannabe? Did you lose the plot, Sammy? He was bloody annoying and full of himself."
Sky nodded. "I only was with him for one challenge, but he was looking at his phone all the time, which made us lose in the end."
"He was not that bad. Yes, he was a little obsessed with Chris. But everybody deserves a second chance." Sammy said, trying to not be heard by Topher.
Just then, someone sat beside Jasmine in front of Sammy. It was Jay, the skater.
"Yo, ladies. Sammy, you are so beautiful this morning!" said Jay winking at the twin.
"Hello Jay," said Sammy flustered, but was cautious of him after the last time.
Jasmine frowned and looked coldly at him. "G'day Jay."
"I'm so envious of you three. Such good friends, always together. I hope I can also make some friends here," said the skater frowning, trying to pinch his breakfast.
Sammy felt sympathy for him. "Don't worry, it's only a few days since the show began. I am sure you will make some friends as people get to know you better."
"Thanks, Sammy, you are a real angel! I hope we can become good friends," said Jay, grabbing the twin hand.
"Again?" Jasmine raised her hand again, but Jay let go of Sammy's hand before she could slap it. "You are a little handsy, aren't you, mate?"
Jay frowned at Jasmine. "Of course no, dude. I am a gentleman, and there is nothing wrong with a little gratitude handshake."
"If you are a gentleman like you said. Start acting like one, instead of picking a fight with Jasmine," said Sky, also frowning at the skater.
Jay smiled and lick his lip piercing, "C'mon Sky, don't be so cold. I'm one of your fans, I think you and I are much alike. Let's also be friends."
Sky didn't was sure why, but she felt a shiver down her spine.
Confessional: Sky
"What is Jay's problem? I mean, he didnֹ't seem like a bad guy. But there is something in his attitude that annoys me. Especially that last part when he said we are alike. I'm nothing like that guy, am I?" said Sky raising an eyebrow looking worried at the camera.
Then the conversation was interrupted by an annoying and familiar voice.
Chris greeted them in his usual joyful tone. "Morning Campers, come to the front of the Dining hall to start today's challenge. I hope you had time to end your breakfast."
"Well, Ferrets, time to go, let's get our second win." Topher said, raising his fist. But only Charlotte, Sky, and Sammy follow his example, also cheering.
The campers on the dining hall go out of the building, but what they found left them speechless.
Confessional: Topher
"Yes, maybe I don't admire Chris like before, but even I had to say that there is no man better than him in annoy and torture the competitors. HE is a master in his job. That was what I thought when I look at what he had prepared for us." Said Topher clapping slowly, "well done, Chris, you are an as****e.
Outside the dining hall were two tables, each for twelve people, covered in a white tablecloth and with a big porcelain plate, knife, and fork. In front of each table was a big bronze statue of the teams' mascots (the fox and the ferret) with a weighing pan over them.
But what really shocked the campers were the large grill on the end of the tables, near a pile of big (and I mean big) steaks.
"Hello campers, I hope you enjoy your breakfast because we are already preparing the brunch," said Chris, chuckling.
Lindsay smile but waved his hand. "Thanks, but I'm not hungry right now."
"Well, that's too bad because these babies are the next challenge," said Chris walking near the tower of raw steaks, ready to be grilled.
"Each team member must eat one of these 5kg(11 lbs) steaks in one hour or less. Once the time is over, we will weight what you leave on your plate. The team who leaves less food will be the winner of the first part of this challenge." Chris said, enjoying the look on the face of the campers.
Dramaman left the group while Dawn interrupted Chris.
"And what about us that don't eat meat?" said the moonchild, who is a vegetarian.
"Don't worry. Before the challenge start, you tell Chef that you won't want the meat steak. He will prepare instead this wonderful 6kg (13 lbs) vegan steak made of soy protein, liquid smoke, and favas.
Lilly said something in a low and inaudible voice.
Amy rolled her eyes. "Lilly wants to know why the vegan steak is bigger than the meat steak?"
"Hehehe, that's the weight of your principles. Also, the vegan is more digestible than the meat one, so it was only to make the competition fairer," said Chris with a big grin on his face.
"Also, as the ferrets have 1 extra member. We will give them a 5kg. handicap," said Chris looking at the foxes. "We don't want that winning a challenge becomes a disadvantage."
"But that's not fair," shouted Courtney glaring at Chris, "if you want to compensate them, sit one of them out of the game, that would be fairer."
"Sorry, but the rules were voted on our website. And the public choose to give the handicap instead of sitting one of the teammates out, and the public is the master of this season," said Chris. Courtney huffed and kept silent.
Chris smiled and continued "Well, tell Chef how would you like your steak, and if you want the meat or the vegan option. Your hour starts as soon as he gives you the steak. Be ready because the challenge starts NOW."
The campers began to get in line to get their meal. The first part of the second challenge had started.
