Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter
Author's Note: Hey guys, I didn't think this story would get so many views after being up for less than a day, so I decided to crank out Chapter 2 here. I already have a direction that I am sure I want to go. I estimate that it should be about a minimum of 10 chapters in total with the average word count around one thousand words. (This may change, but I wanted to give you all my best estimate). Thanks, and I hope you enjoy this chapter!
Upon sitting down in the living room, Harry stared at the newspaper that seemingly glared at him. The time seemed to drag by as the ticking of the clock only made the seconds last longer. Harry, after seemingly waiting for eons, picked up the paper in order to read the headlines.
London Takes the Crown
Already bored of what the newspaper might contain, Harry set out to look at the remainder of the articles in the Sunday paper. After skimming the headlines, which only contained trivial matters that a little magic could have easily solved, Harry plopped right back down into his chair. Immediately after he did so, he regretted his decision. The Dursley's could have caught him, and then he would have never been allowed to see Sirius.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Startled by the loud knocking on the front door, Harry nearly jumped ten feet into the air. After having settled back down, another noise was heard throughout the whole house.
"BOY, GET THE DAMN DOOR! IF I HAVE TO TELL YO-" Vernon began to yell but was quickly interrupted by the man who was standing in the hallway after entering the now unlocked and opened door.
"YOU WILL DO NOTHING OF THE SORT POND SCUM!" Sirius defensively hollered in reply.
"YOU FILTHY MUTT, YOU ARE NOT WELCOME IN THIS FINE HOUSE!" an irate Vernon replied.
"DO YOU WANT ME TO TRANSFORM YOU INTO THE PIG YOU ARE!?" Sirius screamed at a now very horrified Mr. Dursley.
"Just take the boy leave" Petunia replied sheepishly, fearful for the life of her husband because of her prior knowledge of the Marauder's ability in magic.
As quickly as the situation had escalated, the bomb had already gone off and now both attempted to minimize their damage to their over-stroked egos. While the fight was enduring, Harry quietly and quickly snuck past the kitchen and the dining room to the formal living room right next to the door, concealed from view of the dursleys who were still standing on the stairs.
"Hey Harry!" the now calm godfather yelled for his godchild.
"I'm right here Sirius" Harry replied, surprising the animagus.
"He had better not return here for the rest of the summer" Petunia coldly stammered.
"Oh you need not worry, Harry here will be gone for the rest of the summer" Sirius drawled, hanging on to every word to the great dismay of the Dursleys.
Having escaped from the grasp of the Dursley's Harry and Sirius sauntered out of the front door not bothering to close the door to add to the frustration of the Dursleys. Harry had an odd thought as passed the front door and stepped on to the front stoop.
Why hadn't Dudley gotten all mixed up in the yelling and the screaming? His favorite pastime is beating and assaulting me. Maybe he didn't hear the yelling? No he must have heard the yelling, there was just simply no way that Dudley, the oaf and bully, would let his favorite punching bag leave without some idiototic response.
As if on cue, Dudley rounded the corner of the Garage and punched Harry squarely on the nose, knocking Harry unconscious. The final words he heard were directed at his cousin.
"WHY YOU GOOD FOR NOTH-"
Harry didn't hear the rest of Sirius's tirade, but he dreamt of the horrified face that Dudley was sure to display. After all, Dudley was just an insecure bully that ran in the face of any real threat.
While Harry was unconscious, Sirius apparated him to Grimmauld Place. While Harry was still knocked out, he prepared the bedroom in which Harry would be staying. After an hour of preparing, the bedroom had been prepared in its entirety except for one special item from Lilly. Sirius headed up the stairs to the attic in order to grab Lilly's old trunk and give it to Harry.
Finally Harry awoke to the alarm of the wards being set off at the entrance of Grimmauld Place. Although he heard the alarm, Harry was not in the mood to get out of bed in order to see whom the person entering was. He heard voices speaking to each other in a hushed voice, but since it was early in the morning, Harry was unable to control his overwhelming tiredness and fell into a deep sleep.
Meanwhile, Sirius welcomed his old friends back into his family home. "Remus, so good to see you, I hope you have had a pleasant summer."
"Yes Sirius, I have had a wonderful summer," Remus replied enthusiastically.
Finally Sirius turned to his other friend, Severus Snape whom he had always been forced to pretend to hate due to his position as a spy.
"Severus, how do you do?"
