DISCLAIMER:
Hello, chapter 8 released. What will be the third challenge? What will happen with Shawn and Sammy now without Jasmine? This and more answers next in the first part of the third episode.
And if you feel like it, please leave a review on the story, so I can know you like it or not. Or if reviewing is not your thing, at least mark it as a favorite. That way I know what you like and whatnot. Now let me answer some of the past reviews.
queencourtney: A review from chapter 2. Just beware, the characters on my stories tell their version. Sometimes what they say is true, sometimes not, so don't believe everything that is said on a dialogue :).
guest: I am happy you like it. Yep Heather is trying to bond with the former CIT, but our girl is not so sure of wanting to bond with the Queen Bee.
LovelyLuly: Thanks for your complete analysis. I agree completely with you, the depiction of Mike DID on the series is poor. I am following the narrative of the story. There was a reset button, and right now, there are no more personalities.
And thanks about the typo, I am not a native English speaker so any error you or any reader found please tell me, and I will try to correct them.

Are this also a sucky outdoors? Part 1
Last time on Total Drama, Tyranny of the Masses, the campers were invited to a great feast, and after eat, eat, eat and eat, they have to run behind some sheep. A great after-meal exercise. But the foxes not only eat but also shear faster than the ferrets and got the first win for their team.
And in a surprising votation, the ferrets decide to eliminate their best player instead of their worst, so Jasmine said Hooroo to the island and the million dollars. Who will say goodbye after the next challenge? Maybe that's for you to decide. After all, viewers are the true masters of this season. This is Total Drama Tyranny of the masses.
The night after the elimination ceremony was a quiet one. For the first time, Amy and Samey didn't discuss, both too tired after the day's events. The next day the morning people went out, as usual. Shawn to forage his food, Dramaman went to train, and Brick jogging. The cadet found Dawn meditating on a tree stump during his route.
"Hey! Hello there. How are you, Dawn?" said Brick stopping a moment to chat with the moonchild.
"Good Morning, Brick. I'm fine. But you seem worried about something," said Dawn, opening her eyes and showing a small smile.
Brick sighed and sat next to her. "Did you see it on my aura?"
"Nope, I don't need to read your aura to know this. You are frowning, and also you stopped your jogging routine to chat. You usually stand jogging while talking," said Dawn, putting a hand on Brick's shoulder. "I am not good at giving advice, but I am a great listener."
The cadet showed a sad smile. "Thanks, Dawn. It's just that, maybe I'm not cut to lead the ferrets."
"I didn't know you were leading them," said Dawn, crooking her head.
"I was assigned to help them and guide them as a veteran player, but I have been making mistakes one after another. The moral is at an all-time low. Some members hate me, and yesterday we eliminated our best player. I must be the worst guide they could have chosen," said Brick, taking off his sunglasses and looking at Dawn's eyes.
Dawn patted his arm, smiling tenderly at the cadet. "I think you are pretty harsh with yourself, Brick. You are a good man, always thinking first on the people around you instead of yourself, and just now, you are here, tormenting yourself about them. Maybe the problem is that you shouldn't think of yourself as their leader."
Brick didn't seem convinced by Dawn words, "But Chris sai-"
Dawn interrupted him, holding his shoulder. "I think you should guide them with your example, not lead them by your words. Show them your dedication, your enthusiasm, that you want to help them. I am sure your feelings will reach them."
"You are right Dawn, I must stop complaining and start acting. That way, I am sure we will be a team again," said Brick, standing up quickly.
"Good Luck, Brick, may the best team win," said Dawn bowing at the cadet.
"Thanks, Dawn, from the bottom of my heart. And good luck too. I'm sorry, but in the next challenge, your team will be the one sending someone home," said Brick while jogging away.
Dawn chuckled, "Maybe I just caused our defeat in the next challenge."
Confessional: Brick
"Dawn is right! I did what I consider the right thing, so I have to keep going believing in my code and myself. I am sure the others will understand," said Brick nodding at the camera
In front of the cabins, Lightning was doing some push-ups humming joyfully, as Alejandro come out of the infirmary.
The jock greeted the Archvillain but didn't stop doing his push-ups, "Yo Al. How are you feeling?"
The Spaniard winced, why this idiot called him Al all the time? It was as bad as Owen.
"Please Lightning, call me Alejandro. And I am fine, thanks. I only hope to survive this season. These first challenges have been too dangerous for me," said Alejandro forcing himself to smile.
The jock stood on his arms, doing some more push-ups on that position. "Oh, I am sure you can sha-endure that and more, Al. You are a sha-strong player, not as sha-strong as Lightning, but strong enough."
Alejandro shook his head. It was like talking to a wall, and a stupid wall nonetheless. "And you? You seem in a great mood today. Did something good happened?"
"Lightning doesn't know what you are sha-talking about," said Lightning, jumping with his hands to stand up, and flexing. "I am always in a great mood. How can you get angry or sad being as good as Lightning? sha-bam."
"Of course, of course," said Alejandro, as he went to the cabins to look for a change of clothes.
The athlete also walked toward their cabin, following him. "By the way, Al, your sha-girlfriend was in 4 seasons with that sexy girl Lindsay, right?"
"Ex-girlfriend. And if you are talking about Lindsay, yes. They were together for a long time. They were even best friends at a time. Why do you ask? Do our sports superstar has his heart stolen?" said Alejandro smirking and elbowing Lightning. The Spaniard then realized that maybe this conversation was not a total waste of time.
"Don't be silly man, sha-Lightning doesn't have time for romances. It's just, hum, a WHIM, yes Lightning was sha-asking on a whim. So can you can ask your sha-girlfriend what does she like and what not? Lightning is just curious," said the jock putting an arm across Alejandro's shoulders.
The Spaniard sighed."Ok, she is a wonderful girl, and I will ask Heather about her. After all, you deserve only the best." He replied, smirking.
"Thanks, Al, you are a real lifesaver," said Lighting, slapping Alejandro in the back so hard that the poor guy almost got knocked down. He then scowled back at his 'friend.'
Confessional: Lightning
"That Al is a great friend. But Lightning is not interested in some relationship, even with that sexy and cute blond," Lightning blushed as he mentioned her, "But she really is sha-sexy"
Confessional: Alejandro
"So Lightning is interested in the blond princess? Just when you thought you had seen everything, this happens. Well, this can become a perfect chance for me to prove that I am trustworthy," said Alejandro smirking.
It's noon, Shawn was sitting by a cliff near the lake. After he was sure there were no zombies around, he decided to stay there and think about what happened last night.
Jasmine was voted out, and that means that at least 5 people voted against her. Well, that if Sky vote with them. Maybe the Cree girl vote for someone else, that two-faced gymnast.
But also he promised Jas to give her a chance, or at least hear what she has to say. But how can he talk with Sky after all that happened yesterday? But if he doesn't try, what will happen with Sammy and him? The ones that voted Jasmine will surely come after them. This situation was like being trapped in a mall full of zombies without ammo, and with some of your teammates bitten by the undead.
The sound of steps behind him took Shawn out of his thoughts.
"Are you ok?" said a deep voice to the conspiranoic.
Shawn looked at him. It was the masked man, Dramaman. He was holding a small bag full of blueberries. The zombie expert answered the question nodding silently
The wrestler gave the bag to him. "You don't seem to have had breakfast yet. I pick this in the forest, take them."
Shawn took the bag and looked carefully at the berries. When he was sure they were just berries, he ate some.
"I am sorry about what happened to Jasmine. It was not fair," said Dramaman, facing at the lake.
"He he, thanks, man. But sorry, I don't trust you. For all I know, you could have voted for Jasmine last night," said Shawn, his voice full of sadness.
The wrestler faced him with his expressionless mask."I voted for Jay,"
"Why didn't you vote for Amy?" asked Shawn, but he already knew the answer.
"Why should I? Jay was the worst in the challenge, and after him, Max and Lilly. Amy would be my 5 or 6 option," answered Dramaman, his voice cold and serene.
"Yes, but Amy was-" Shawn kept silent, the masked guy was right. Amy should go because she was Sammy's mean sister. But they were too hasty, they needed to first have the votes assured before trying to vote her out.
"Yes, it was our mistake. Even then, I can't trust you. There are at least 4 people that voted for Jas. Amy was one, and probably Lilly the second, but you could be the 3rd," said Shawn narrowing his eyes.
"That's fair. Then follow me, I will show you something I found this morning. I think this will be enough to earn your trust," said Dramaman walking in the direction of the mountain.
Shawn sighed, stood up, and followed the masked man. But there was no way he will trust him so easily.
"What are you showing me?" said Shawn looking around while walking. He wanted to be sure there were no traps or zombies on their way.
"I noticed that you were always searching for something while on the island, and I think I found it for you. It is in here," said Dramaman entering a cave.
Shawn's eyes went wide. There was no way he was telling the truth. There was no way he found him, but anyway, Shawn dashed into the cave.
"Here it is. I think with this is enough to earn your trust," said the wrestler.
Shawn kneeled to have a better look. It was NOT was he was looking for, but it was definitely worth his trust.
"You found it this morning?" said Shawn glaring at the man.
The masked man nodded. "And only you and I know about it."
"Why did you show me this? It may be smarter to keep it a secret," said Shawn, adjusting his torque.
"Because I need allies, and you won the last season. Think about it. We can be allies and try to get your second win." said the wrestler while leaving the cave.
Confessional: Shawn
"Well, I am no fool. There is something completely fishy about that masked man. He may be waiting to earn my trust and, in the last moment, BAM, betray us like in a bad movie flick. But after showing me this, there is no way I can turn him down, I guess I will trust him, for now," said Shawn shrugging.
After lunch, everyone was doing their own things. Courtney was in the mess hall making some strategies, it was the best place for her. Nobody wanted to stay after lunch, with Chef in the kitchen cleaning all the leftovers from the plates (and they left a lot.) The first days Duncan would come to bother her, but today he didn't come.
Or more like he didn't come yet, she thought as someone sat in front of her.
"I told you to leave me alone," she said without taking her eyes from her notebook.
"Sorry I didn't want to bother you," answer Mike rubbing his arm ashamed.
Courtney blushed after the blunder. "Oh no, sorry, Mike. I thought you were someone else. Tell me, how can I help you?"
"Do you have a moment? There is something important I want to tell you," said Mike, looking at her with an unusually serious expression.
"No problem. I was just thinking about the kind of challenge that Chris will bring us next time. You know, he said that 7 of the challenges will be old challenges. But there are few of them that he can use with 2 teams of eleven," Courtney looked at Mike's face, he heard seriously at her explanation. "Am I boring you?"
"No, you are right, as the last 3 seasons have smaller teams, the first or first 2 of those challenges will be probably from the first season, Wow, you are really smart," said Mike with a wide smile.
Courtney took a moment to reply. She had problems receiving praise. She always thought they were only a courtesy or fake. "Thanks, Mike, I try my best. But tell me, what did you want to talk with me?"
"I wanted to apologize for what happened in the last season when Mal stole your chart. Sorry about that," said Mike bowing his head.
Courtney bit her lower lip, why is everyone apologizing with her now? First Duncan and then Mike. She took a deep breath before answering. "Don't worry, Mike, it was not you but Mal's fault. And also, I deserved it. I shouldn't be thinking of backstabbing my friend and boyfriend for a million dollars."
Mike looked into her eyes, his black eyes still serious. "No, it was my fault. If I had been stronger, Mal would not come out. And even if I hated him, he was part of me. So I am also to blame. I am sorry, I hope we can still be friends."
"You want to be friends with me?" Courtney said exactly what came to her mind, without thinking how awkward was that question.
"Yes, I mean, we were together in the hamsters, and Dawn said that you," Mike keep silent a moment. "That you are a great girl, and that it will be wonderful if you, Dawn, and Zoey could chat together. And I was afraid you don't want it because I am there."
Courtney blinked a couple of times, it was really a silly explanation. She was not a great girl, but if that delinquent can change, so can she. "Of course, we can be friends, and I will be happy to be friends with Zoey and Dawn if they are alright with me."
"Thank you. Now, if you want, I can help you with your list. I don't seem like it, but I am a great fan of total drama island," said Mike smacking himself lightly on his chest.
Courtney chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "Really? So you are also my fan?"
"Hehe, sorry, actually I was rooting for Trent. I think he was cool, playing the guitar an all that," said Mike rubbing his neck and bowing.
"Of course you will. Ok, come and sit on this side. I will show you why you should have been rooting for me," said Courtney with a small smile.
Confessional: Courtney
"Well, this was unexpected. I really should be thinking about how to use them to my advantage, playing them as a second alliance. It's the smart thing to do. It's what the old me would do. That is a better reason to not do it," Courtney sighed, "I hope I'm making the right choice," she said, smiling but with a sad expression on her eyes.
The day passed without further incidents, Sammy still avoided confronting Amy, even if her older sister tried to talk with her, and Max continued to search for a mechanical tree without success. The next day just after lunch, the familiar sound of an air horn was heard in the loudspeakers of the camp.
"Hello, campers. I hope you enjoy your lunch. Please come to the front of the cabins, so I can tell you about your next challenge," said Chris, chuckling, "and take your time if you want, that would make everything more entertaining."
After those words, the 22 campers hurried to gather in front of the cabins, where Chris was already waiting for them.
"Wow! you were fast. It seems that positive motivation works wonders in today's youth," said Chris, winking. "Congratulations, today, we have the first public selected challenge. So this one is an old challenge with a twist. If you don't like it, don't blame me, it was selected by our beloved fans."
"I hope we are not jumping from a mountain 1000 feet tall again," said Beth with a worried expression.
"Beth, you didn't jump the first time," said Chris raising an eyebrow, "and sadly no. Our masters, the public, choose another challenge. The only thing you have to do is spend one night in the woods. You have to go to the point marked on your maps and follow the instructions you found there. Here are a map and a compass for each team."
Heather rolled her eyes. "Just like in the first season."
"Yes, just like in the first season. And I hope you were not trying to get familiarized with the woods these past days. Because we use the island technology to change the forest during the night. That should make things more interesting," said Chris smiling impishly.
Dawn scowled at the host, saying in a distressed voice."What? And what about the little critters that lived in the forest. They will be lost and confused now that you change their home for your selfish challenge."
"The animals are smarter than most of you, so they will be ok. And we will return the forest to their usual self tomorrow. Also, we didn't touch the bears' caves to try to not stress them too much. Anyway, watch out for them," said Chris with a serious expression. "It is not a joke, we don't want any more campers mauled by them, ok?"
Cody gulped and stretched the collar of his shirt. He definitely wouldn't want for that to happen again.
"Lastly, the challenge is not only about the first team to come back from the forest but is also about how well you survive. That includes camping, foraging, and finding the campsite. If both teams are tied, the first team to come back will win, but that is only the tiebreaker," said Chris looking at the faces of all the campers. Most of them looked bored, distressed, angry, or a mix of the three.
"Well, I hope everyone is ready because the challenge starts NOW, good luck and see you tomorrow," said Chris leaving the teams to make their preparations.
The foxes looked at the map and the compass. Heather took the map and Duncan the compass.
"I already do this on island, so it's better to follow my instructions," said Heather pointing at herself.
"We also did this, and if I remember well, we did better than you. We only lose because twiddle dumb and twiddle idiot got distracted and didn't follow us in the forest," said Duncan, glaring at the Queen Bee.
Alejandro walked between them, trying to mediate in the discussion. "Please, let's not start arguing between ourselves. If we want to keep winning, we have to stay together."
"Ugh! I hate it when you are right. Ok, ruffian, let's put down our differences and start walking," said Heather, opening the map.
"Yes, of course. Courtney catch," said Duncan throwing the compass at the Latin girl.
Courtney was caught by surprise, almost dropping the compass. "What's the idea, Duncan?"
"It's time to show your skills as the only camp counselor on the team," Duncan replied, smirking.
Courtney walked toward him, glaring. "It's true I passed the camp counselor training. But I stopped going to camps years ago."
"So are you saying you forgot the basics of camping and reading a compass?" asked Duncan, looking at her with wide eyes.
"Of course not," replied Courtney, offended by the question.
The delinquent then smirked. "Excellent, then we follow you."
"Ignore him Court. He is only looking to get under your skin," said Heather, glaring at Duncan. "Help me to navigate. I think we are here."
Courtney let herself enjoy a moment guiding the team into the forest. After all that happened, maybe there was still some of the uptight C.I.T left inside of her.
Confessional: Heather
"I don't know what that delinquent idea is. I thought he would play the game smarter and look for an alliance with the revengers. But instead, he seems to think he can get Courtney on his side. Ha! as if. Courtney is not as smart as me, but she is not stupid like Linsiot or the farm girl. She will not fall on his tricks," said Heather tossing her braid.
The ferrets were having more trouble choosing how to start the challenge.
"Lilly is the one with more experience hiking, she should guide," said Amy, arguing with Sammy.
Sammy threw her arms into the air. "That's only because YOU eliminate Jasmine. Now the better one to guide us is Shawn, he is a survivalist."
"Don't blame me because your giant friend was eliminated, Samey. And Shawn is a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE survivalist. Sorry for thinking Lilly is much more useful," replied the older twin, in a snarky tone.
"Don't belittle Shawn for his hobbies. He is great reading maps and foraging. Why is that you always had to ignore my opinions?" said Sammy clenching her fist.
"Hobbies? It is more like a lifestyle," said Shawn, but nobody was paying any attention to him.
Amy frowned and said in a louder tone. "And why should you always have to go against me? After all I have done for you."
"Please stop this! Both are right. Let Shawn and Lilly guide us together." said Topher, walking between the twins, "Look at the other team, they already departed. We have to work together, or we will lose again. And I mean ALL of us have to work together," the host wannabe added while glaring at Jay.
"I don't have a problem with that. Amy is the one that seems to always have a problem with my ideas," said Sammy folding her arms.
"Oh, c'mon. Stop playing the victim card. I always heard your ideas, even if they were naïve, stupid, or silly," said Amy, folding her arms in the same way.
Topher groomed his hair and sighed. "Then let's go. Lilly, Shawn, here take the map and the compass. You are in charge. If you need anything, please tell us."
"Hey, dude, who decided that you are the leader?" said Jay narrowing his eyes at Topher.
"I am not the leader. For this challenge, Lilly and Shawn are the leaders. I am only trying to help so we can start. You should do the same," said Topher trying to not shout at the skater, even then, he sounded harsher than he intended.
Lilly panicked, her eyes wide and her lips trembling, saying something in a low and inaudible voice.
"Oh, come on, Lilly. You will be fine. Now stop crying, and just take us into the forest," said Amy putting a hand on the redhead's shoulder.
"AMY! Stop belittling her feelings, if she is afraid, she is afraid," said Sammy, putting a hand in Lilly another shoulder.
Amy glared at her sister. "I'm not belittling her, I am supporting her. Why should you criticize everything I do?"
"Please stop! Thanks for your kind words, I think I can do it," said Lilly bowing, still nervous, "now stop fighting, please."
"As you want, Lilly," said Amy turning her back at her younger sister.
"I am not fighting, is Amy the one always starting the fight," said Sammy before going in the opposite direction.
Confessional: Topher
"What is the problem with the twins? Yes, the last season they had some troubles, but this time they are going all out one against the other. Maybe I should try to mediate between them so I can hel-, ehm, manipulate them. Yes, so I can manipulate them both. Is the smarter way to win the game," said Topher looking at the ground and pressing his lips together.
The foxes started to walk in the forest. As Chris said, the place was like a different island. Heather, Courtney, and Dawn walked in front of their team, the last one pouting for the state of the forest.
Behind them were Zoey, Mike, Cody, and Duncan. Zoey talking with them now and then, but in general, they were walking in silence.
In the back were Lindsay, Beth, Lightning, and Alejandro, chatting casually.
"I can't believe your mother is a theater actress. That is so glamorous," said Beth with sparkling eyes.
Alejandro replied to her with a sad smile. "Not so much. She had to spend a lot of time in the rehearsals. I am proud of her, but when I was younger, I miss her a lot."
"That's nothing. Lightning's Pops won 4 super bowls, and has been on the hall of fame of the NFL since 2007," said Lightning, smacking his chest lightly.
"That's nice. My daddy is only a boring movie producer. He meets lots of people, but only a few are famous actors. Most of them are scriptwriters and directors, or other producers," said Lindsay, shrugging.
"Lindsay, that is a very interesting job. Sometimes the directors are even more famous than the actors," said Alejandro, surprised.
"Al is right, your dad works sound awesome, almost as much as Lightning's pops," said Lightning flexing.
Lindsay chuckled and smiled at them."Hehehe, thanks, Jalapeño, Lightning, that's like so kind of you."
Alejandro smirked and whispered to Beth. "Can you wait a moment? I want to ask you something."
Beth stopped as if she were tying her shoes, letting Lightning and Lindsay walking ahead. The couple was so immersed in the conversation that they didn't notice that Alejandro and Beth staying behind.
"What do you think, Beth, didn't they make a cute couple?" said Alejandro, strolling with Beth.
"Who? Linds and Lightning? Mmm, they seem well together, and Linds like to date jocks, so it seems kind of natural. Also, Linds talk fondly of him, " said Beth rubbing her chin.
"I also think they make a great couple," said Alejandro with a tender smile.
Beth then chuckled. "But there is no way they could date."
"Why not? You just said they look great together, and that Linds didn't hate him," said Alejandro looking to Beth with wide eyes.
"Because Lindsay has a boyfriend, Tyler. Don't tell me you forgot him?" said Beth narrowing her eyes.
"Of course I remember him, he is my pal. But he said that they break up after some problem with his parents," said Alejandro, rubbing his neck.
"Hehe, that's old news. Linds and Tyler never break up, but both thought the other break up. So after resolving the misunderstanding, they become a couple again. It is not romantic?" said Beth, sighing romantically.
"Yes, it is a great story. I am so happy for my amigo[1]," said Alejandro sniffing. "He is too kind for his own good, he deserves to be happy."
Beth smiled, looking at how Alejandro was so happy for Tyler. "That's so true. And they are the happiest couple I have ever seen."
"And you, Beth? Are you still dating Brady?" said Alejandro, with a quizzical smile. It sounded like he was making all this conversation just for this question.
Beth blushed, "No, we decide to break up while he went to study Dentistry in London. He didn't want to tie me in a long-distance relationship."
"That so kind of him, he really cared about you. But I am more selfish. I would make my best effort to make our relationship work, not caring about the distance," said Alejandro with a flirty smile.
"Stop that, Alejandro. If I didn't know better, I would think you are flirting with me," said Beth red as a tomato.
"And I should not?" said Alejandro showing his teeth in a beautiful smile. "Let's hurry, you will not want to be lost alone in the forest with me." and then the Spaniard speed up a little, to not lose sight of Lightning, Beth just behind him.
Confessional: Beth
"Well, he is wonderful," said Beth with dreamy eyes, "but Tyler said that he was still in contact with Alejandro. Yes, that was 6 months ago, but he had already gone back with Linds. Does Tyler forget to mention they go back together? I don't know, but I have to be cautious. Especially with those beautiful green eyes," Beth sighed romantically again.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest, the ferrets were advancing at a slower pace. Lilly was intimidated by Shawn's straight forward attitude and the conspiranoic losing his patience at the shy treehugger.
Behind them was Amy, talking with Max. The supervillain was rambling non-stop about his new invention. At that moment, the older twin made a mental note to apologize to Lilly for letting her spend time with him. With them was Charlotte, she seemed to be hearing music while walking, but actually was hearing their conversation.
Then was Brick walking with Jay and Dramaman. Behind them was Topher, Sky, and Sammy. The skater was trying to find a chance to go and talk with Sammy, but wanted to avoid Topher.
"Ugh! That Chris wannabe is making a move on Sammy. I hope she won't fall for that poser," said Jay glaring at Topher.
"I don't think he is making a move. And even if he is, you should respect whatever Sammy decides, Jay. That is what a gentleman does," said Brick, blushing a little at the conversation. "I didn't know you have something for her."
"Well, she is kind, smart, and too hot. Anyone with half a brain would want to make out with her," said Jay licking his piercing.
Dramaman shook his head and said something under his breath, but neither Brick nor Jay could hear him.
Confessional: Dramaman
"Jay is an idiot. Guys like him don't learn with words. Brick should just let him be, he will learn after she rejects him," said Dramaman, his head facing toward the roof.
"Well, yes, Sammy is a great chick. But maybe you should try to know her before thinking of making out with her," said Brick raising and eyebrow.
"Of course, dude! I intend to know her better. But life is too short, and we can always start to know each other while we make out," said Jay, glaring back at Topher, Sky, and Sammy. Then he noticed that Topher and Sammy started to slow down the pace.
"Hey! they are staying behind. It's better to find out what's going on," said Jay, he wanted to go and look what they were doing, but someone stood on his way.
Some minutes before, Topher, Sammy, and Sky were also talking, not noticing that Jay was watching over them.
"I can't believe she has the nerve to bully Lilly like that and said she was helping her. Sometimes I can't believe we are sisters," said Sammy stomping her feet.
"C'mon Sammy, maybe she really wanted to help," said Topher, nonchalantly.
Sammy sighed and looked at the host wannabe."HA! you said that because you don't know her. She is selfish and mean. She always belittled me and treated me like a maid."
"That's terrible, and your friends never try to stop her?" said Sky, outraged by Sammy's story.
"Not at the beginning. But after appearing in the show, more of my friends took my side," said Sammy with a sad smile.
"So you were always bullied by others, and none of your friends stand for you? That's cold, but I can relate," said Topher looking sadly at the sun.
"Not others, only Amy bullied me. None of the other bullies in the school paid me any attention. Maybe they notice I was already bullied by my sister and decide to leave alone," said Sammy shrugging.
Sky chuckled. "I don't think that's how bullies work."
"You were lucky. In my school, after the show, all my schoolmates laughed at me. It is understandable. After all, my biggest idol humiliated me on international TV," said Topher in a cold and sad voice.
Sky remembered then of the conversation with Sammy and decide to let her handle this. The Cree girl started to walk faster, leaving Topher and Sammy alone.
Seeing this Jay walked to Sky, to see what is happening with Topher and Sammy.
"Sorry Jay, please, leave them alone for a moment," said Sky opening her arms and smiling.
Jay glared at her and tried to pass her, to no avail. "There is no way I will leave that playboy with my Sammy. Let me pass, Sky!"
"My Sammy? What are you talking about, Jay? You two have just talked a couple of times in these days," said Sky, blocking his path.
"That is none of your damn business! Let me pass!" said Jay, trying to avoid her, but Sky was too quick.
"Please, Jay. Give them 5 minutes is all I ask you," said the gymnast, looking at his eyes.
"I told you to let me pass," said Jay raising a fist.
But before the skater could throw a punch, he felt someone holding his arm. Dramaman stopped him, clawing his gloved fingers on his arm.
"JAY! you are not trying to hit her, right?" said Brick, taking off his sunglasses, and giving a death stare at the skater.
Jay released his arm from the wrestler and rubbed it. "Of course not dude, you are all crazy," he said and pushed past Brick and Dramaman.
"Thanks, guys," said Sky bowing, "I don't know what got into him."
"Don't worry, ma'am, I am also disappointed with him. Probably Topher was right, he is not good for the team morale," said Brick, putting his sunglasses again.
Meanwhile, Topher and Sammy were chatting, ignoring the drama that just happened some steps ahead of them.
"It must be harsh that the person you admire the most does that to you," said Sammy, looking sadly at the ground.
"It is. But I am grateful. I learned a lot from that experience," said Topher, in the same cold tone.
Sammy made a small smile and kicked a pebble. "You are strong. I would not learn anything if something like that happened to me. But again I didn't have a hero or someone I admire as much as you."
"I am not strong, but I will become strong. And winning this season is only the first step," said Topher clenching his fist.
"I don't think you need to become stronger," said Sammy with her eyes filled with tears.
Topher was taken aback by her response, he glared at her and asked."Why not?"
"Because you seem in pain when you talk about getting stronger," said Sammy, with a pained expression on her face.
Topher looked at her. He tried to smile, to look calm and confident, but he couldn't. His eyes were red, and the corner of his mouth downwards.
"And then tell me, what should I do?" said Topher, his voice cracking.
Sammy was shocked. She never thought Topher would react like this. "You should just do your best as yourself, not as the double of another person, I am talking you from experience," said the twin, tears rolling down her face.
Topher looked at her and laughed."Nobody would be interested in someone like me. I'm worthless."
"That's not true, at least I will prefer to cheer for you than for an imitation of someone else. Please don't give up on yourself," said Sammy, looking in Topher the reflection of who she was.
Topher looked at her, tears also rolling from his face, "Thanks, Sammy, Thank you. You know, you are smarter than I thought."
"HEY! What's the meaning of that? Are you insulting me?" said Sammy narrowing her eyes.
Topher panicked, "No, that's not what I wanted to say. What I mean was-" he then lowers his face, defeated, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it, you are very smart, and I am an idiot."
Sammy chuckled, "No problem, I know what you mean. I was only teasing you."
"Well, let's go back with the others, I don't want to get lost and being eliminated like Katie and Sadie," said Topher offering a hand to Sammy.
"Who?" asked Sammy, confused.
"Two campers from Total Drama Island, let me tell you about them as we get back with our team," said Topher smiling at the twin.
Confessional: Topher
"Maybe I was wrong, being a ruthless man will not be truly me. Maybe I just have to try to be the best Topher I can be. That Sammy is really a great girl," said Topher, smiling at the camera, "I wonder if she is dating someone right now?"
Confessional: Jay
"Is not fair, hitting her? Me? I would never hit her. They are just jealous of my looks and ganging against me. I hoped that at least Sky would understand. But I will show them, I will get them out of the game like Jasmine, and I will get Sammy, just wait," said Jay, taking his torque and throwing it into the ground. He then realizes what he has done, picks it up, and try to clean it.
In the main room of the island, Chris was watching the competition leaning in a comfy chair while enjoying some beer and some cheddar cheese. The competition was only beginning, and at least the competitors were creating some fine drama. Chef came into the room, frowning.
"Look at them, Chef, we are getting hours of footage from the multiple automatic cameras. In Island, we need 4 interns per team to record the episode, and they could only be in 1 place at a time. Now we only need the automatic recording system voila. And the best of all, we don't need cameraman or hazard pay, and of course, there is no danger of someone being mauled by a bear while recording, like poor Jackson."
"His name was Jacob, and yes, it's awesome how the machines little by little take our place and increase unemployment." Said Chef rolling his eyes.
Chris narrowed his eyes at the big guy. "Don't be so dramatic. You cannot stop progress. And you should be grateful that you still have a salary."
"Salary? You still owe me the past 2 months. And piloting the chopper was not in my contract." Said Chef, pointing menacingly at the host.
"Two months already? Wow, time flies by when you're having fun." Said Chris trying to not look into Chef's angry eyes.
An intern ran toward them with a worried expression. "Sorry to interrupt you, sir. But there is a problem."
There was a moment of silence in the room. Then Chris raised an eyebrow and asked the intern. "So, what are you waiting for? What is this 'problem'?".
"DAM sensors indicate a high probability of a storm forming tonight. And as the contestants are trying to camp in the wilderness, we thought this can be a problem for them. Maybe we should reschedule the challenge." said the intern, giving a sheet with the calculation to him.
Chris snatched the sheets from the intern hands and looked at them. "Is only a storm. This will make the challenge more interesting. It seems they will have to find or build a shelter instead of sleeping under the stars."
"So you will not stop the challenge?" said the intern surprised by Chris' reaction.
Chef rolled his eyes. "Kid, you are new, right?"
The intern tilted his head before answering. "Yes, it is my third week."
"Stop bullying him." Told Chris to Chef, before talking to the intern.
"What our friend wants to say is that don't worry too much. These contestants are the best of the best. They are tough. So don't waste your time on this and keep watching the cameras.
The intern nodded and went back to his seat, not sure if this was the correct decision.
"A storm in this lake? It would be interesting, but not life-threatening. Anyway, Chef, please be on stand by, just in case." Said Chris winking.
Chef clenched his teeth. "You are not paying me, and now you ask me to do overtime?"
"I will pay you ALL, including overtime. Just be patient. When I have let you down?" Asked the host showing his best smile.
The Chef began to count on his fingers. "First time was 2 days after you hire me to work in Total Drama Island, I was supposed to work only as a Chef, but you need someone to test the safety of the challenges and-"
"Ok, ok, I understand. Trust me on this one, I will pay you," said Chris drinking a sip of his beer. "I cannot believe how people can be so mistrustful."
Chef went away, shaking his head as Chris lean on his chair and eat some more cheese. It seemed that this time he will have to pay Chef some of his salary, or he will be nagging all the season.
On the foxes' side, they found the campsite, but to their surprise, there were not camping equipment, not tents, or sleeping bags. There was only a fox shaped totem with a note.
"Well, let me read," said Heather taking the note. "As part of the challenge, you should find where to sleep as well. But don't get too far from this totem. You need its blessing in the morning before coming back. Love you, Chris."
Heather scrunched the paper in a ball and throw it in the ground, "Just great! How are we supposed to spend the night without a tent?"
"Let's not panic," said Courtney. "We need to get wood and stones to start a campfire. We need water and food for the dinner and find a place around here to rest. A cave would be ideal, but a clear can work too."
"Lightning and Lindsay can get the water," said Lightning raising a hand.
"I can forage some food. I am not an expert, but I learn some tricks on the farm," said Beth raising a hand.
"I also can forage, and if you want even hunt," said Mike, smirking.
Dawn looked at Mike, worried. "Please, don't kill innocent animals for some silly challenge."
"Dawn is right, no hunting," said Courtney. "I will go to look for wood and stones to make the campfire."
Duncan smirked and walked toward the L.I.T. "I will go with you."
"No, I will go with her," said Heather, "you go with Alejandro and find a shelter."
"Sorry, Heather, but you need a beast of burden to carry the wood and the stones. And I am a better beast than you," said the delinquent, putting out his tongue and showing his tongue's piercing.
"Ugh, you are despicable," said Heather stomping her foot on the ground.
"Don't worry, Heather. I will be ok. I can take care of myself," said Courtney smiling.
Heather huffed and folded her arms. "Then, I will go with Zoey and Dawn to look for the shelter."
"With us?" said Zoey, with a worried expression.
The Queen Bee put her hands on her hips and glared at the redhead. "Yes, is there a problem with that?"
"No, it's ok," said Zoey rubbing her arm.
"And what should we do," said Cody, talking about himself and Alejandro.
"You stay here at the totem and work as our radio tower. If Heather's team finds a shelter, one of you stays here, and the other go and look for the others to send them there. That way, we can optimize our times," said Courtney, looking at all the members of her team.
"Phew! That's Courtney, show that your Counselor title is not for show," said Duncan clapping.
Courtney tried to not laugh at his silly remark. "Ignoring that, foxes, let's do this."
All the foxes cheered, and each one goes into their task, as the ferrets still haven't reached the camping point. Will the foxes win this challenge? Or the ferrets will make a comeback? And what will happen with the animals of the forest?" found out next on Total Drama: Tyranny of the Masses.
