Chapter 4: The Storm

(Narrator POV)

Edgar and Olivia that night had various dreams of each other. After there "moment" a few hours before.

Once again Noah was still sick Olivia was a bit more worried cause he usually bounces back quick after he is sick but he wants getting and better but thank God he wasn't getting any worse. She called Edgar to ask him to watch Noah and he quickly said yes. And he arrived the had a quick chat. He said "Have a good day to day. I'll call if he wants to talk to you or if something goes wrong. Okay? He said smiling. She nodded and left.

The day could not have gone better even though she was only halfway through. She managed to get paperwork done and they had no cases and it was a beautiful December day.

Edgar decided to give her a call while Noah was laying down.

Olivia looked Down at her phone and her face instantly lit up when she saw his name on her phone.

"Hi Edgar!"

"Hey Liv hows it going?"

"It's be an amazing day so far no cases and paperwork is all finished. How's Noah?"

"He's good you wanna talk with him?"

"Sure."

"Hi mom."

"Hi honey you feeling better?"

"No but Edgar is being really nice and he is really good at taking care of me as much as he can. I like him!"

"I like him a lot too Noah but that's our little secret." But little did she know she was on speaker and he heard everything the said.

"Can I talk to Edgar honey."

"Hey Liv what's up?"

"Nothing just wanted to talk to you before I got off the phone."

"Oh I guess you like hearing my voice good to know captain"

"It is a soothing tone to hear."

"Can Noah and I go out for a drive for like 30 minutes. I just wanna get him out the for a little do a little driving?"

"Yeah that's fine just don't expose him to, too much of the cold."

"I won't. And by the way Liv... I like you too bye." And he quickly hung up before she could ask questions.

Olivia was puzzled by his last statement. Did he here her when she was talking to Noah? She knew that would be on her mind all day.

Noah and Edgar has been driving for sometime and Noah asked if they could bring his mom so food and of course Edgar said yes. They picked up Liv's favorite sandwich from the bistro up the street from the precinct and Edgar decided to get her something from him since food was Noah's idea.

It was around 6:45 when Fin came and knocked on her door said she had some special guests waiting for her outside of her office. She went out and to her surprise was Edgar and Noah. They went to the bullpen and Noah invited everyone else to since when they went to get Liv's food they thought it would be nice to get everyone some food it was everyone's favorite spot.

Rollins walked over and asked Noah "what's up?" He told them they got food for everyone. Fin walked up and said "I heard there's food..." Edgar laughed and said yes Fin gave him the "bro" handshake. And said "my man, right on."

While everyone was getting their food. Olivia pulled Edgar off to the side. "You didn't have to do all of this."

"I mean after all it is the season of giving isn't it? Plus Noah wanted to bring you some food so I just went ahead and got everyone else something to. And I picked up something for you extra but we might have to go in you office?"

"You amaze me Edgar Goodwin. Thank you. But what did you bring me?"

"I got you the chicken parm-"

"No like what did you get me? Like the office gift thing."

"You'll just have to wait and see."

"Fine."

Chief Garland walked in the precinct and heard some laughter in the bullpen and went in. "Hey guys, Edgar! Good to see you man." And pulled him into a bro hug. And Garland winked at Olivia. She chuckled to herself.

"Chris Garland has I known you would have been down here I would have brought you something too."

"Its fine I just got done eating with La'mai. When I came up here."

They finished and everyone started to have conversation with each other. And Olivia excused herself to her office and Edgar followed.

"Hey you okay?" Edgar asked.

"Yes I'm just anxious about what you got me can I see it?"

"Yes but I have to go get it."

Edgar walked out of her office and to his Porsche and took out an extra large bouquet of roses and a box.

He walked back in trying not to be seen by the people in the bullpen. But when he heard gasps he knew they saw him but who cares Olivia and him were only friends for now.

He opened her door and she was instantly choked by tears that she refused to let fall. She picked the note out of the flowers and it's said 'Olivia, I know you have had a rough couple of days and I've tried to be there for you as best as I can. I want you to know that I'm gonna be here for you forever whenever you need anything. You just say the word and I got you. Whatever you need. I like you very much Olivia and I know you like me too but I'm not gonna rush anything. But i was wondering if you would go out with me Friday night, my treat. Signed E.G. to Olivia, who is absolutely stunning. A

She couldn't fight the tears anymore and they fell. She looked up at him finally and pulled him into a hug. And said yes. And they just stood there for hugging for a minute and she finally let go and he gave her the box. It was bracelet, her bracelet one she hadn't seen in weeks he got her one in replace of it after Noah said she lost hers when they saw it in the window of a jewelry store.

"Thank you..." were the only words she could saying with out pouring out her heart.

"You're welcome!"

Back out in the bullpen Fin, Kat, Rollins, Carisi, and Garland were taking we Noah had to used the bathroom and it had been a few minutes when Liv and Edgar walked out. "Where's Noah?" they said in unison. "He's in the bathroom." Kat said. "I'm gonna go check on him. Make sure he's alright. Make sure he's not throwing up or nothing." Olivia nodded and smiled.

Then everyone just stared at Olivia. "What guys?" Olivia asked.

"You know what..." Fin said.

Before Olivia could answer she heard Edgar scream her name and she jumped up and ran to the restroom. "What is it?" Then she looked down at Noah and he was crying and struggling to breathe calling out for her.

She could tell he was gonna faint she hurried and grabbed his coat, shoes and a blanket out of her office. And she totally forgot about he coat, phone, purse and everything. Not hearing a thing anyone was asking her. They all had tried to talk to her but she was in mama bear mode.

And she ran out the door of the precinct telling Noah over and over again that it was gonna be okay. Followed by Edgar who jumped in the driver seat. Olivia got in the back with Noah and prayed silently while holding Noah's hand. Edgar grabbed her hand and held it the whole way. A few seconds later Noah released his grip and what no longer conscious nor breathing. Olivia was now in tears. She almost screamed to Edgar the Noah stopped breathing.

She had been through this with him when he was a baby and now it's happening again.

Two minutes later they were at the ER she sprinted in through the door "Help! My son he's not breathing!" Running down everything they needed medically from allergies to conditions. Trying to help her baby boy as much as she could.

"Ma'am I need you to stay in here." But Olivia didn't listen. Edgar wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and tried pulling her towards the waiting room but, She kept going and finally she gave up and waited in the waiting room.

Olivia didn't know what to do in the mean time. But she felt like she was gonna be sick. But she didn't have and money to buy crackers or a drink for that matter.

Olivia sat with her head in her lap and feet on the bench like she was trying to keep warm or something. That's when Edgar realized she went outside with no coat no nothing. "Olivia?" She looked up and saw Edgar and broke down again Edgar hopped into action first taking off his coat and wrapping it around her body seeing that she was out in just a shortsleeved shirt and black slacks with her work boots. Then he sat down on the bench as well with her and held her and whispered it was gonna be okay. Kind of like she did with Noah on the way here. She was crying so much she made herself sick. She ran into the family bathroom. And threw up

Edgar not being too far behind her knew what was about to happen ran in there as well and closed and locked the door.

Everyone from the precinct had watched them two since the minute they were together at the precinct and watched how their world tumbled downhill.

When Edgar got all the way in the bathroom he knelt down and pulled Olivia's hair back and rubbed her back. "Let it all out Liv." And she threw up once again. Then came more tear and she tried to talk to Edgar but no words came out she was just. "Don't try to talk Liv. Come here." She turned around and moved toward him to lean against the was and he just held her like that and kissed her forehead. And she continued to throw up sporadically for about 15 minutes when Amanda came in and said the doctor had to talk to Olivia.
