This is a very important chapter, with Luffy having a tough time in a different way than usual. Kind of bloody in one part, but not too bad. Mostly action and then drama at the end! Enjoy~

Luffy was patrolling alone today since Tokoyami wasn't there that day and Hawks was with Endeavor on the other side of the city having lunch. Luffy wondered how that was going. He had some people talking to him, asking how Hawks was. "I think you'll see how he was after watching the Hero Billboard Charts," he said with a laugh.

"Another weird speech?" the older man asked with a laugh. Luffy asked if anyone suspected anything else. Then he frowned and looked up to see something flying at high speed right towards him. He knew it was nothing good. "Run! Everyone run!" he shouted, shoving the women and they started sprinting off, a big man carrying the elderly one.

Then Luffy shot up to give them time to get away on the ground. He was punched in the gut by this monster and into a building. Luckily he hardened his back just in time with Kirishima's power. He stood in the crater it had made in the concrete and not any windows.

He saw an exposed brain of it, but was shocked when he heard it speaking, since none of the other nomu had been smart enough to speak or think on their own other than attacking randomly. "Y-you re-report ma-ster. Strong? Report mas-ter. Pay- you will pay," the nomu said, words a bit messed up but still speaking. But how did it know about Luffy being the tip? He assumed that was what the "report" was that it was talking about.

Luffy flew at it, knowing it was dangerous and punched it in the face, needing to know how strong it was. It did nothing even though Luffy punched a hole in its mouth. It regenerated like how Luffy and the other nomus could, but much faster. Luffy dropped a bit so it missed him. It could fly, with what looked like engines or boosters on its back, making it fast.

Luckily for the others, it was only after him, and the people were fleeing. He knew this would be trouble as there were camera crews in the area but now filming. Luffy flew at it again and got on its back, punching the engines and yanking its head back as it fell before regenerating and flying backwards into the building, crushing Luffy against it.

Shit, shit shit! He had to use other powers, he knew this thing could and would kill him if it got the chance. Luffy could do nothing about the cameras, but knew if he was out of the fight, it would go to the others. It was a nomu after all, smarter or not.

Luffy shot Endeavor's flames from his hands, burning its arm off before growing spikes from his hand and puncturing its head. Hitting the brain did nothing. So, melting it would be best. He flew at it at high speeds and slammed it into the ground with a crater, shoving his hands on it's face to shoot out flames. He used Aizawa's quirk to stop it from regenerating, but he wasn't used to keeping his eyes opened and when he blinked, it got up and threw him into a building, slamming him through the window and causing numerous cuts in his back that healed over, but left blood and had ripped his outfit.

He flew out and slammed it into the ground only to be flipped and be under it before he electrocuted it before he covered its head in ice and then the rest of his body before throwing it off, shattering the ice. It broke its body, but it's head survived and flew off. He chased it as it regenerated the rest of its body.

He was thrown high into the sky, blood on his arms and legs from hitting the pavement hard, recognizing road rash easily even though it had healed.

He plummeted down, ramming into it only to be gripped by the wing and thrown down, feeling the skin and bone tear, making him scream in agony as his left wing was ripped off and he fell to the ground, barely saving himself from splattering with Uraraka's power, keeping him from slamming down, only the nomu landed on his back, right on his injured wing. He released blue flames from his back, not allowing it to rip out his other wing.

He stumbled to the side, his weight off and in agony as his wing took its time to heal, scaring him. He was slammed head first into the ground, blacking out for just a moment before he was up again, even though his head was in agony.

It was flying up to the helicopter and Luffy had no way to fly, so he enlarged his body with Mt. Lady's quirk, grabbing it in one hand, using Aizawa's quirk again to stop its flight, holding it in both hands as he made them an oven.

He felt and heard blood splatter out of his back all over the buildings and ground beneath him. It was still alive and sliced off some of his fingers. He screamed before they grew back and he slammed it into the ground hard, creating a huge hole. He covered the thing in cement and then released Ashido's acid into the hole, hearing it screech.

Other weaker nomus suddenly erupted, but he ignored them. All of his equipment had stretched with him, and he called Hawks finally. "Hawks! Get the fuck over here!" he shouted. "Nomu attack!"

Luffy was bitten by the nomu, but ignored it until he slammed down on it with a fist, melting the concrete around the decaying nomu. It was still alive, but he released now hot acid. He was unable to get to the nomus going after the people who were stuck from the panic.

He used the wood power and wrapped it around them before sucking them back and stomping on them, splattering them. He stumbled to the side, barely missing one of the buildings and knocking it down.

The nomu had melted in the concrete, acid oven. It melted apart and Luffy saw there was nothing left. He stepped back before he grabbed his wing that hadn't grown back and turned back to normal size, falling to his knees. His ears were ringing and his head was foggy, so he didn't hear Hawks shouting to him.

He heard crowds cheering for him saving them and winning. He didn't care. He was crying. Everyone knew now. They knew what he could do. His hope of a normal life as a sidekick was over. He stumbled forward, finding his wing and holding it close, sobbing.

Suddenly Hawks was there, and saw Luffy covered in blood, but no longer new blood. He saw the state of the street, the blood splattered everywhere. He sat next to him and took him into his arms as he sobbed. He looked devastated for Luffy's missing wing.

Since the wound had healed over, and his fingers grew back, his wing had to grow back. He didn't know what would happen if it didn't. There were holes in the street, blood everywhere, splattered nomus bodies, melted road and a concrete mess. Luffy finally passed out, exhausted physically and emotionally.

Luffy woke up in a hospital, laying on his stomach. His wings were both numb, and he looked behind him to see the missing one had grown back a few inches. Hawks was there, sleeping with his head on the bed. Luffy saw a clock on the wall, showing it was 4 AM. He shook Hawks awake, who looked so relieved and sad.

"What happened?" Luffy asked, voice flat, knowing he'd been caught on camera the whole time. Hawks knew what he meant, and answered honestly.

He looked down and said, "It's been on every news station for hours. The people you saved wanted to thank you, but I flew you to the hospital." Luffy buried his face in the pillow. Hawks rubbed his shoulder, since his back was inflamed where his missing wing was, even if they were both numbed.

He looked to the side, not caring if Hawks saw him crying. "What are the reactions?" he asked, knowing people would either be upset or in awe of his quirk. His quirk to take other people's quirks. He'd never wanted this quirk, and he hid it for many reasons.

"Mixed reactions. You're being praised for saving those people, hurting yourself to do so. Everyone is mourning for your wing, even though it's started to grow back already. Slower than usual, but there are already traces of downy feathers." Luffy asked about the negative reactions. "People are thinking you're dangerously overpowered. But, the pro-heroes who have been interviewed and asked what they thought have almost unanimously told reporters that they should leave you alone."

He took out his phone and pulled up a video with Ryukyu, All Might, Endeavor, Woods and even Mt. Lady, those whose quirks Luffy had used. They were all interviewed together, and it happened that day, so they rushed it.

"I think everybody should leave the boy alone. He's hidden this power for a reason, and he only exposed it so he could save others and himself," Ryukyu said.

Mt. Lady added, "If he used my quirk to save others, then I can't fault him. He clearly did not want to, and I'm sure won't again. He's just a kid, and I really think he deserves privacy and time to heal."

Endeavor said he'd known Luffy since he was in third grade and never knew of this quirk. Only his wings and strength. "I don't think he's a danger to anybody. He's a hero and should be treated with respect like one."

Luffy was shocked by Endeavor's reaction. Luffy asked if the general public agreed. Hawks said it really was mixed. There were a great deal of people wishing to interview him, thank him and express support for his recovery. "But there are a lot of people who don't like the fact that you can use other quirks with ease and accuracy. After all, you used multiple quirks at the same time, all very skilled at them." He sighed, asking what the nomu wanted with him and why it could fly.

"That nomu was smart. It talked to me." Hawks' eyes widened in surprise. "It knew that I was the one to give the tip about Bakugo's location. I don't know how it knew that. It was sent by someone connected to All For One. That was it's 'master' I'm sure. It wasn't the nomu we've been seeing in the photos. It had a hood that made it's exposed brain difficult to see.

"The only way I was able to kill it was to melt it with my friend's acid power." He looked down. "I hope she's not mad about it." He tried to sit up but Hawks told him he had to stay laying down for now. "I don't want to go to school. They'll all hate me. I'll be stared at by everyone."

Hawks told him he wasn't going to school until his wing was healed. Luffy asked how long that would take. "It's been 11 hours. Maybe in a week or so? I'm not sure. It's a lot for your body to heal. I'm sorry I didn't get there sooner."

Luffy replied that he was sorry he didn't respond. He'd hit his head and his ears were ringing so he couldn't hear him shouting. "Can I still go on patrols? Or am I homebound?"

Hawks said he wasn't putting Luffy on house arrest but would be going on patrols with him and flying to and from school with him. It wasn't too much, honestly. Luffy was fine with that as long as he wasn't locked at home and unable to go anywhere. "Ace is back from his mission and wants to see you."

Luffy hadn't seen him in too long. It had been two weeks since he last went to coffee with him. It had gotten too cold to go camping or hiking again. "I'm sorry this is going to cause you so much trouble."

"Luffy, you would have died if you didn't use those powers. Other people would have died. How could I be mad at you for that?" he asked seriously. Luffy knew he was right and sincere. He sighed and asked if he had his phone.

Hawks had had it with him since he wasn't out on patrol and Luffy didn't keep his phone since he had a headset that was connected to Hawks' and the police. He didn't need his phone when he was on patrol.

He pulled it out of his pocket. "You have 150 messages. I didn't open any of them. I don't know if you should read them yet." Luffy asked who they were from. "Ace and your friends. Even some from Aizawa."

Luffy asked for him to read them and tell him any good ones. He couldn't handle bad ones from his friends." Hawks agreed.

Most of them were from his class. A lot of them were frantic and worried messages, having seen his wing ripped up and the massive amount of blood everywhere. He'd lost a lot, and had a taped piece of gauze on his arm, showing he'd either had an IV or shot.

"A lot of them want to visit and make sure you're okay. Most of them are frantic and worried. I don't see any that are negative about your quirk finally being revealed. Aizawa said you are excused from class for however long it takes for your wing to regrow, and will be exempt from any work during that time. He says he's refusing to give you any homework while you're on leave," Hawks explained. Luffy sighed, wanting something distracting to do.

Both of them ended up falling asleep half an hour later, Hawks leaning against the hospital bed and Luffy still on his stomach.

The next day, his wing itched badly. There were tiny feathers growing, but at a slow pace. So his wing was bare and looked like a raw chicken wing. He was glad when a wrap was put around it. It fit it perfectly and was baggy at the end for it to regrow. There were seven different sized wraps for when it grew bigger.

"I was so scared. That it wouldn't grow back." It was no longer numb and he could barely move it, though there wasn't much to move. Hawks said he could see how scary it must have been. His wings couldn't do that, they could leave and fly off only to come and reconnect.

"It's growing back. You don't have to be scared. We saved your other wing. In case you wanted to say goodbye. You've had it for so long, it only makes sense that you would want to say goodbye," Hawks said, understanding Luffy's feelings completely. He thanked him. "There's been a funny video posted of you at the HBC," he said, changing the subject. "Apparently someone saw your reactions to my speech and filmed."

He handed Luffy the phone and he watched himself react to Hawks' speech, his range of facial expressions, the sighing and the head shaking. "You really didn't like my speech, did you?" he asked, though of course not offended.

"Was it a speech at all? Or just random things you came up with on the spot?" Luffy asked. Hawks proudly said he came up with it on the spot.

When it had officially been 24 hours later, after 4:30 PM when the battle happened, Luffy wanted to go outside, not liking being cooped up in the hospital. Hawks frowned, saying that the press was probably swarming the place. "Maybe we can go to the roof?" Luffy nodded, saying that was fine.

Hawks got a doctor and asked if they could. She said yes, but that Luffy had to move slowly and carefully. They went to the top floor and to the stairs that were off limits to most people. They went up and onto the helipad that had the helicopter on it. Luffy looked over the edge and did indeed see the press.

People trying to get into the hospital to go to the hospital had to shove their ways through the crowd. "Do I have to stay here for the whole time my wing heals?"

"No, I think she said you're getting discharged tomorrow morning as long as nothing abnormal happens with your wing. It'll be hard for you to walk with the balance off." It was, Luffy was holding onto the wall when they'd walked to the roof and against Hawks outside. He sat down and Hawks continued to stand.

"I always knew it would get out some day. I just didn't think it would be this soon," Luffy said after a long silence. "It was bound to be exposed by accident. I never thought I'd show them on purpose, even if I was desperate."

"Our seven year secret is no longer a secret," Hawks said, sounding sad. Luffy nodded, pulling his knees up. "People will move on eventually, and you will no longer be in the spotlight. It might be hard and annoying for awhile, but we'll get through it."

Luffy knew he was right, he just didn't know how long "awhile" would be. Weeks? Months? Years? He looked at his phone and decided to tell everyone that he was okay, his wing was regrowing slowly. He opened a group chat with all of them besides Bakugo and messaged I'm okay. My wing is growing back slowly. Sorry to worry you.

Almost immediately, they all texted. Most were of relief that he was okay and his wing was growing back. The others were surprising. Reassurances that they didn't hate him and understood why he hid it. Luffy sniffled and messaged back a thank you.

Ashido asked him if he used her power on the nomu. When he replied that he had, she seemed to brag about her ability being able to melt a nomu. For some reason, those whose powers he used were… excited. That their abilities were able to help kill a high-functioning nomu. Others in the buildings that he'd been thrown into had heard the thing speak.

What was the reason you had to get quirk surgery?

Too many quirks made me sick and out of control. Powers were uncontrollable. I had some quirk nerves removed. Too many nerves pressed together and created pressure that messed things up.

What about the glasses?

They make my brain not register quirks. It's used in the military to identify quirkless people.

Oh. That's smart.

There wasn't much to talk about and Luffy didn't want to talk about it anymore for a while and said he had to go back to get a check up. Hawks asked how they were, and the teen explained their reactions and responses. He smiled and said he had good friends. Luffy nodded.

The next day, he was discharged, but it was hard to get out. Hawks had to go get the convertible so nothing pressed against Luffy's healing wing, which had made little progress, but progress nonetheless.

It was in the underground parking garage, so no crowds, and they got away easily, driving past the press quickly, though they could probably get photos of him, though he was wearing a baseball hat to cover his eyes.

Luffy asked what the area he'd fought at was like now. "They've washed everything down, so there isn't a lot of blood anymore. The road was fixed quickly and the buildings you were thrown into are under construction at the moment. It's so lucky you could regenerate. This would have been terrible if you couldn't. Worse than it is exponentially."

The teen knew that, and was thankful that he could heal. They got home and went through the office and up the elevator since Luffy couldn't fly up. He wasn't allowed to put weight or pressure on his wing for one more day when the swelling at the base was completely gone, which it was close to being. So he couldn't sit on the couch or lay on his back.

Hawks offered to go get take out from Luffy's favorite restaurant, which Luffy was grateful for. It was in another city, so it would be a bit of a wait, but he wasn't extremely hungry. He went on his computer and went to the news channel clips on Youtube that had to do with him.

They showed the full twenty minute fight, even to the moment Hawks arrived and Luffy cried into his chest, holding his wing. It was embarrassing a bit, but he ultimately didn't care. At least he didn't seem like some overpowered monster. Some of the news channels had his wing blurred since it was so gruesome, red, bloody and swollen with bone poking out.

"And there you can see it. The UA student who has ultimately hidden his actual quirk used other quirks to save himself and other bystanders. I do believe his power could be dangerous in the wrong hands, but he's hidden them for a long time, as has Hawks, who gave no comment," the single horned news anchor said. Luffy didn't know but wasn't surprised that Hawks had been cornered. At least he didn't say anything.

"But we don't know if he will now use them since he can no longer hide the fact that he has this master quirk that many would want to use," the other anchor said, a brown haired woman.

"We won't know until he decides to speak to the press or show how he will be a hero now." They seemed to disagree on Luffy being dangerous, but did agree on asking people to leave him alone while he recovers. He basically lost a limb, it would be hard to recover from. "Though the press did get an image of his wing being bigger than before, so thankfully it seems to be growing back like his severed fingers had."

Luffy would disappoint everyone by not using any other quirks beside his wings and strength. Those were his, the ones he chose to be his. He wouldn't be abandoning them. But, he did want to ask Hagakure permission to use her power to avoid the press and so he could get to school safely.

So, he messaged and asked if that was okay. Absolutely! I'd be glad for my quirk to help you.

Luffy made a watery smile and thanked her. He went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror, weird to see one wing and the other gone from sight. He was walking okay. Still troubled and he had to lean to the opposite side more, but it wasn't too bad. He tried a power he hadn't before and turned invisible, able to turn his clothes invisible as well.

He could use quirks to the fullest extent. Hagakure couldn't do that yet herself. He felt like a cheater and made all of himself visible again. He went to his room and took his shorts off and replaced them with pajama pants. He had trouble removing the shirt himself, but he was able to before putting on an embarrassing shirt that was more of a style for women that had a strap that went around the neck and left the back completely open.

It had been a mens shirt before he messed with it, but it still looked stupid. But it let his wings be absolutely free. He went back to his bathroom and pulled the sleeve off gently, looking at his new wing. He didn't hate it, or think it was worse than his previous wing, he was just sad he'd lost his first one.

He found it in a drawer, iced, and looked down on it before picking it up. He would keep the feathers, as the skin would rot and the feathers would fall out anyways.

He plucked the feathers and put them in a bin, leaving an already unhealthy looking featherless wing. He put it in a plastic bag, tying it shut. He looked at the feathers, and was glad he had kept them only. The severed part was ragged and reminded him of the pain he felt when it was ripped off from the base.

Was it the League that sent it? That was the only thing he could think of. But where did they get this nomu from? And what about the other sightings? He had interrupted the meeting Hawks had with Endeavor. He wondered how that had been going.

Luffy laid down his stomach, Merry patting his nose, wanting to play. He took a plastic ball with a bell in it and tossed it away where she got distracted and played by herself until it was knocked under the TV stand, where she started whining. He jiggled another one and she ran over, though he tossed it in the hall instead of the living room.

He fell asleep and woke up when Hawks came back through the window/door, bringing food that was a bit cold but was warmed back up on the stove easily. Luffy sat on the floor to eat since he couldn't sit on the couch. "How does it feel?"

"A little less itchy, but still itchy. Hagakure gave me permission to use her quirk to get to and from school and go out on flights."

"The invisible quirk?" Luffy nodded. "That is convenient."

Luffy suddenly asked if he should give interviews and shoot things down before conspiracy theories take off. Hawks asked if that's what he wanted to do. Luffy poked his food with the fork. "I think it's necessary. But I'd give it over the phone or a web camera. Not in person. I don't want to go anywhere with my wing like this. And it's hard to walk, I don't want to look like a fool now that the world has me under a magnifying glass."

Hawks said that he supported whatever Luffy chose. Luffy chose to tell some of his story, make his public image accurate before others start talking. That night, he emailed the main news station he usually watched interviews on since the interviewers were nice and the guests they had on were interesting.

Hello, this is Takami Luffy. I'd like to give an interview over a web camera to clarify some questions everyone is having and debunk things I know I will see soon.

-Luffy

He got a reply almost immediately, accepting it and saying they could do it any time he wanted and that it didn't need to be live. He thanked them and scheduled the interview for tomorrow morning.

Having no idea what questions would be asked, he just would be truthful. He might not answer some questions but wanted to clear things up. He showered that morning and was fidgety the whole time. Hawks said he would be late to work to stay with him during the interview out of sight.

"Do you have anything you don't want me to say?" Luffy asked.

"No, answer whatever you see fit. I want you to be able to choose to be honest." Luffy smiled, and said he wouldn't be saying anything about Ace. He was visiting later that day. He had to go to the doctor himself so his visit had to be postponed. He got bitten by some sort of insect or tic at his last mission that made him ill.

But he was getting treatment and there would be no lasting side effects. He just needed to be monitored. Luffy wished he could see him, but there was nothing he could do about it. Merry crawled into his lap when he was sitting in front of the curtains in front of the living room window wall so the sunlight didn't pass through and make the lighting terrible. The interview was scheduled at 9:30 AM. He had his face shield and hero suit on, which Endeavor actually took and got fixed for him after Hawks left for the hospital. It was strange, very strange, but Luffy was grateful for it. He really needed a second one like Hawks had, even if the other one was older.

At 9:20 he pulled up Zoom and the thing picked up before it was time for the interview and he was asked not to swear, which Luffy was fine with. He didn't usually swear when talking normally. He nodded, saying he wouldn't. He was nervous.

But he couldn't be nervous when he was finally put on. It wasn't live. That was a relief. "Luffy, we'd like to thank you for allowing us to interview. We have many questions from the public and ourselves. We will only use questions that can have a direct answer." The man was Miyagi Daikaku, the horned man and Haise Mina was the female reporter.

"Okay," Luffy said, very nervous, he couldn't help it.

"Well, I think the biggest question is how your quirk works. You used many quirks during your fight against the advanced nomu. You don't need to go into detail if it's sensitive information, but everyone would like an explanation," Haise said, and Luffy was thankful for that.

Luffy was honest and replied, "My quirk allows me to use any other quirk I see in use to the fullest extent." They were surprised, though they really shouldn't be. She asked how many he had at the moment. "I'm not sure. Under 100, but I only use two and one that I can't help but use." She asked a big question, which was why he'd hidden it all this time.

He looked down and said truthfully, "Because I never wanted this quirk, and I didn't want others to know so I could become a normal hero." They were surprised that he didn't want this quirk, a powerful one that everyone would like to have. So it wasn't strange that he was asked why. "I always wanted a unique quirk, my own. Not other peoples' quirks. And using them to the fullest extent feels like cheating, y'know? Cause no actual work goes into developing them."

"Are there any drawbacks to this quirk other than being in the public eye? You don't need to answer if you don't want to," Miyagi asked.

"It's hard on my body. Having too many quirks causes health problems. I don't take quirks anymore. It's been months since I last recorded one." He was asked how he wasn't taking them anymore. Luffy pointed to his face shield. "I have special glasses and eyewear that prevents my brain from recognizing others' quirks.

"It's used by the military to identify quirkless people. I don't take quirks anymore. I just stick to the wings and super strength. And I am unable to turn off the regeneration quirk," Luffy answered. They were surprised with the glasses. Nobody would have guessed that was what they were for. Now Niji knew why he punched him for taking his glasses.

He was asked how his wing was healing, since they couldn't see it from the position the camera was in. "It's slow. It will take awhile, probably. It's a little hard to walk since I'm not used to the balance being off."

"That's good to hear that it's healing. Some are questioning why you chose the quirks you did," Haise asked, looking at the list of questions on the paper in front of her and her fellow news anchor.

Luffy smiled for the first time and said, "I think anyone with a quirk that allows them to fly would understand. I chose this one when I was 8 after Hawks told me that flying would make me feel more relaxed. So he taught me to fly. I used to be able to put them away, but I chose to keep them out permanently and am no longer able to put them away." He said this part with a small smile.

Then Merry wanted to make herself known and walked in front of the camera. He quickly moved her out of the way and apologized for that. The anchors seemed unbothered and said that was just fine. She looked back down at the list. He was glad they weren't asking personal questions about his life before being with Hawks.

"The last question is if you plan to use anybody elses powers now that you aren't hiding them anymore." Luffy wasn't going to lie.

"No. I have permission from one of my friends to use her's temporarily, but other than that I only use my chosen quirks." He was asked if he had anything to say to the public. "Even though I have an over powered quirk, I'm still a human. I don't want anyone to put me on a pedestal or think that I'll go around stealing strong quirks and be dangerous for society. I still want to be a hero, even not using my full extent of my quirk."

They thanked him for the interview, and he nodded before he was cut. He let out a huge sigh. He looked at Hawks and asked him how he went for interviews, seeming just fine.

Hawks grinned and said, "I hide any nervousness being a wall of cockyness." Luffy chuckled and said that did sound accurate. "You did great! I'm impressed." Luffy smiled and thanked him, and then turned to Merry, but couldn't get upset. At least she didn't step on the keyboard or anything.

It didn't take long after the interview aired to have everyone talking about him even more. But it was more nice things, support for him. "Looks like it was a good idea to do the interview," Hawks said. "Now people know what kind of person you are if they didn't already."

A lot of the people talking about him online wished him well for his wing healing.

It was the next day that the Hawks agency workers put piles and piles of boxes and mail in front of the elevator. It was all for Luffy, but had been scanned in the package scanner. It checked for anything dangerous since it was a hero agency and desperate villains sometimes sent bombs.

It was incredibly rare and didn't happen much in Japan anymore, but better safe than sorry. So, Luffy had thirty boxes that were deemed safe that he had to go through. "This is ridiculous," he said once Hawks came up to check on him again.

"What is it all?"

"A lot of it is food that I won't eat or expensive things to help my wings heal. A lot of ointment and soaps. At least there was nothing hateful in them. But I don't trust strangers' foods," Luffy explained. Hawks said it was a good choice, no matter who you are or the reason you got a package, don't eat food that is opened or cooked by some person you don't know. Like when parents didn't allow their children to eat homemade candy on Halloween.

He'd gotten a lot of texts from his friends that watched the interview. He apologized for going to the media before them, but he wanted to get on top of it before conspiracy theories popped up or people started judging him without knowing the facts. They understood and thought it was a good choice.
