Chapter 6: Flaws

(Narrator POV)

It's was nearing 3:30 as Olivia woke up. She had been awake since 3:00 but she had just laid there. But every time she would move to get up Edgar would tighten his grip, so that she would fall off of the chairs since the had no arm rests. She finally slipped from his strong yet comforting grip. She opted to go to the family bathroom down the hall trying not to disturb Edgar from his sleep. and as soon as she locked it, it all came crashing down. All of her anger, frustration, stress, and worry overwhelmed her body.

Little did Olivia know that she had already woken him up. When she got up he felt empty which cause home to wake up. He didn't see where she went but he saw her go out the door.

After she had been gone for 20 minutes Edgar suspected something was wrong. He walked out of Noah's room on a search to find Olivia. He asked Noah's nurse if she had seen where she went. She told him that she was in the family bathroom down the hall. He thanked her and went to Olivia. Why didn't she go to the one in Noah's room.

He knocked on the door and said, "Olivia can you open the door for me?" There was a silence. Olivia thought to herself and said "No." Her walls were coming back up and she was pushing him out. "Can you at least tell me you're alright." He said gently back. She didn't answer him. "Can you please open the door for me?" He said kind of pressing but trying not to. Not knowing her state of mind at the moment.

She was mad now. Not necessarily at him. But it was him who received all of her built up emotions. "Go away and leave! I don't want you here!" She screamed extremely upset. Even though she knew she was lying through her teeth. She just didn't want him to feel like she was a burden to him. Edgar knew she wasn't mad at him, she was mad at the world but he was the person who took all of the collateral damage from it. He wasn't hurt, but he knew she was putting her walls back up. He wouldn't let her push him out.

"Olivia I'm not going anywhere. I will wait out here all day if I have to. Please open the door." He pleaded. That's when he heard the lock switch. She didn't open the door though. He slowly opened the door and saw a disheveled Olivia on the ground in sobs. Then he walked in and shut and locked the door.

"Oh Liv, what's going on? Talk to me." He asked. She didn't respond she was still in guy wrenching sobs. She moved her head to where it was resting in her hands. That when Edgar saw her bloody red and bruised knuckles on her right hand. She had punched the cement wall through all of her stress and frustration.

"We need to get you looked at. But first, please talk to me. What's going on? You were just sleep." He pressed.

"I don't know... I just felt so... overwhelmed. I-I feel l-like I'm being a-a... burden to you. I don't want you... to leave. Because I was too weak, and couldn't handle... myself." She said still sobbing hysterically.

"Hey, don't ever think that you are a burden to me. I want to be here. If I didn't want to be here I would just leave... but I'm still here aren't I? Right. And don't ever call yourself weak. You are the strongest women I know. You are so strong Olivia. And if I'm being honestly that is what attracts me to you. You are strong and gorgeous woman and I wouldn't have you any other way. All of your flaws that you think destroy your character... they don't in my eyes. I think they make you beautiful. I don't see them as flaws at all. I just want you to see someone cares about you Olivia." Edgar said tearing up in the middle of all of that.

Olivia sat quietly the entire time he was talking her sobs had turned in to silent tears. "That's not true." She broke into more sobs. Edgar moves to hold her and she moved away. "I'm way too much to put up with. I'm nothing. I hate myself so much. I should have this coming. Noah could have avoided all of this had I just taken him to doctor when he first got sick. I know how he gets when he's sick." Olivia said banging her fist on her forehead crying. Cringing in pain from squeezing her fist to hard on her right hand from punching the wall.

"I'm gonna saying this to you Olivia and I don't want you to respond back okay I just want you to listen to me. No matter what flaws you think you have. I will always think of them the opposite. Because in my eyes you are perfect just the way you are. You are not too much to put up with, if I had to put up with it... I would put up with it all. And when get down on yourself and think you're nothing I will still think you are everything. When you hate yourself, I will still... love you." Olivia gasped at his last statement and cried silently. Edgar continued "Because you are all I need, all I want. And I know we haven't officially been out together yet. I will try everyday to prove to you that I do. And when I can finally you take you out I will make sure you feel like a Queen everyday."

He paused and looked at her she had silent tears falling down her face rapidly. She had taken his hand in the middle of that. He once again tried to hold her and this time she let him. He sat her on his right thigh and wrapped his arm around her. And wiped some more tears away and kept talking.

"Olivia I have known you for not even a whole month yet and you already have me head over heels about you. You have the affect on people. You are so caring and you put others before yourself. It's what I love most about you that's what everyone loves about you. But you know... who doesn't love the Olivia Benson." He stated ending what he had to say. And he looked down at Olivia and smile and kissed her temple. They sat there for a little while. Then Edgar heard her say "you're too good to be true." To him sleepily. Then he smiled and picked her up so that she was straddling his frontside.

Edgar stopped by the nurses station and asked Noah's nurse if someone could later wrap her hand up. Showing the nurse her knuckles. She responded gently with of course. And went back into Noah's room.

All of the nurses had talked about the relationship between Olivia and Edgar. They all were drooling all over those two. More so Edgar than Olivia but they knew that he had his heart set on Olivia from the first day he say her and they weren't wrong. But they were all surprised at what Noah's nurse said they were just friends. They looked so happy together like they were married almost but they weren't even dating.

Back in Noah's room. Edgar when he walked in saw that the doctor or nurses had added an extra bed for Olivia and himself. He laid Olivia down carefully trying not to wake her up. She stirred a little bit but he thinks she's still sleep. He kissed her cheek. Grabbed his keys and her keys and went out the door.

He choose to go get clothes and some other things for Olivia and Noah. He drove up to her apartment and he honestly didn't know where anything was in Olivia's bedroom. He went to her closet got a bag and a few shoes, and two blazers. Then went over to her dresser and got three days worth's of comfy clothes, work clothes, socks, and under garments.

He went back to her closet and replaced two of her shoes with a pair of UGG chestnut colored slippers and a pair of chestnut colored UGG boots. Then went in her bathroom grabbed tooth brush, toothpaste, body wash, perfume, deodorant, and some feminine care items. He chose two body washes the two that smelled the best to him and the one that he could tell she used the most.

He didn't know if she needed the feminine items, but it was better to have it than needed it and don't have it. And he looked around thought of anything else she would need and saw a throw blanket and picked it up.

He headed down the hall to Noah's room. He knew he wouldn't need much but he grabbed some pajamas, socks, and underwear. And he saw Eddie his stuffed elephant and grabbed that as well. And grabbed his toothbrush, and he tried to think of anything else they would need. If he forgets something he'll go to the convenience store on his way back.

He arrived at his house and grabbed everything he needed. Especially his hair products. That man loved his hair. And that's we he remembered "Oh shit!" He snapped his finger and he remembered what he forgot. Hair products for Liv.

It was the middle of the night he didn't where would be open. He saw a 24hr Walgreens sign and ran in there grabbed head and shoulders shampoo and conditioner and the same for Pantene. Not knowing which on she used. And grabbed a flat iron and a brush.

Before he left he grabbed some snacks and drinks for the two of them. And a bottle of Tylenol if Liv would need it for that time of the month if she had it. He paid and left. The roads outside were getting really bad and it was really slick on the streets. He was going as fast as possible but as carefully as possible. He safely returned to the hospital and went back to sleep in the chairs not wanting wake up Liv.
