Chapter 7: Wake up
(Narrator POV)
After a rough night Edgar had woken up first at around 10:00. He let Olivia sleep in knowing the night she had. He called in to SVU they already knew she wouldn't be coming in and if she tried they wouldn't let her. But he called anyway to say for sure.
He left the room for Olivia to sleep. He went up to the nurses station and asked "How long does it take to come out of a medically induced coma?" She responded looking at the gorgeous man and said "It all depends on the person. But usually within 24-48hrs is the usual." He nodded and thank her and went to the hospital cafeteria to pick up some coffee and breakfast for Liv. Hopefully she would eat it she hadn't ate a meal in over a day. She only had a few bites of her sand which from yesterday.
Meanwhile back up in Noah's room Olivia had just woken up. She was sad that she was by herself wondering where Edgar went but she shook that feeling away remember their conversation from last night. Then it all hit her, she realized she didn't have anything to take care of herself. Or so she thought. She looked around she saw Noah still in a coma. Truth be told she was getting a little antsy waiting for him to wake up. Wondering what was taking so long. Then she saw her weekender duffel bag and her big shoulder bag. She wonder who went to go get all of this. Then she saw Noah's things and Edgar's. She was blown away by this man time and time again. She went through her bag and and wondered 'how did he know what to get'. She went in the bathroom washed up and put her hair in a messy bun. She put on a nice smelling perfume on top of the matching body wash, the one the Edgar choose but she didn't know that. She put on her dust pink quarter-zip from Victoria Secret PINK. With some black leggings with her white fuzzy socks and UGG boots.
Edgar walked into the room with two cups of coffee. He decided on no breakfast and would go down with Olivia and let her choose what she wanted to eat. The fragrance of the room smell absolutely magnificent. He remembered the scent the body he picked out for Olivia. "Hey Liv!" He said excitedly.
"Hey!" She said trying to match his excitement.
"Brought you some coffee two cremes four sugars. Just the way you like it." Handing her, her coffee.
"Thank you! When did you go and get all this stuff? Thank you for that."
"After we had our talk last night in the bathroom you went to sleep and I took the chance to go get what I thought you would need." Looking at Olivia because her outfit was comfy and cute. It showed off her best curves.
"You went out last night? The roads were horrible from what I heard on the news this morning. You didn't have to I could've..." she was cut of by Edgar.
"Could've done it yourself? Yea you could have but I did it's one last thing you have to worry about. Did you even listen to what I said to you last night?" He giggled.
"I did. Speaking of last night did you really mean all you had said?"
"Yes Olivia I did. Come here." They both moved to lay on the extra bed. Edgar got behind Olivia and wrapped her into his arms and whispered "But I can tell you again. Olivia benson you are..." and he went down everything her said last night and finished with what stuck out the most to her in the bathroom. "I think your everything when you think you nothing. When you hate yourself... I will still love you no matter what. You are absolutely stunning Olivia Benson." She rolled over. Looking into his eyes and told him once again "You are too good to be true." But added this time, "I don't deserve you." She said getting emotional.
"I think it's the other way around." Edgar winked.
Edgar had an idea. "Hey Liv?"
"Yes?"
"Why don't we go down to the cafeteria get some food and then take a walk not to far from the building. So that if Noah wakes up we will be close. But I wanna get you out of this hospital." He asked.
"Well how would we know if he wakes up?"
"I'll give the nurses my phone num- what did I say something wrong?" He stopped because Olivia gave him a look when he said he would give his number to the nurse.
"Your number? I may be a mess but I can still see how they all drool all over you anytime we are out in the hallway. Give them my number. And I'll agree." Olivia said playfully demanding.
"Olivia Benson is jealous. But fine your number but I get to hold on to your phone I don't want to worry the entire time okay?"
"Oh whatever. And fine let's go." They stood up Edgar his on Olivia's hip it was new position usually the held has but that would be uncomfortable for Olivia's hand from last night. But then once in the hallway he changed sides and held he left hand. They gave the nurse Olivia's phone number and went do to the cafeteria hand in hand.
They finished breakfast and Edgar ran upstairs to grab Liv's NorthFace Coat, gloves, and her beanie and his coat. And they started their walk.
That's when the saw La'Mai and Chris.
"Olivia!" La'Mai screamed.
"La'Mai!" Olivia screamed. Ran and they hugged each other. They were beginning to be really good friends. As the two men walked behind each of their lady counterparts. When the got up to each other the bro hugged.
Edgar prayed they wouldn't bring up Noah. But he knew that it would be talked about. Their walk is supposed to fun and worry free but if Noah is brought up Liv is instantly in tears.
"We were just coming to see you guys but you guys seem like you were off somewhere we should leave." La'Mai said Edgar agreed in his head knowing he wanted to be alone with Olivia.
"It's not problem we were just about to go on a walk to pass time. You guys could join us?" Edgar's body language changed when Olivia offered for them to go and Chris saw it. He obviously wanted to be alone with her for the moment.
"How about we catch you guys a different time?" Trying to help Edgar be alone with her. But Edgar knew she wanted to be with La'Mai so he let it go and said "It's fine if you guys want to tag along it looks like the girls want to do why not." He can think of some many reasons why not but he tried to let Olivia have her way.
Olivia grabbed Edgar's hand and La'Mai grabbed Chris hand and they began their walk. Olivia and La'Mai had got into some girl talk and Chris and Edgar had a quiet conversation behind the two females. That's when the topic that Edgar tried so hard not to bring up had been brought up and Olivia was about to start crying and she excused herself from the group making an excuse to go collect herself. Telling them to keep going and she would catch up with them. They kept walking but Olivia was getting little to far behind they stopped and Edgar walked back towards Olivia.
"Hey, you doing okay?" He walked up from behind her and put his hands on her hips. And then see her tears and wiping them away.
"Yeah I'm doing okay. I'm sorry I just- it's hard when someone brings him up and he hasn't woke up yet and I'm worried." Olivia said truthfully.
"And that's okay. You're still a little emotional from the past few days. Come one let's catch up." He kissed her forehead and took her hand the walked up to La'Mai and Chris. They were about to leave when Edgar looked at Liv's phone the nurse said Noah had woken up.
"Liv he's up!"
"Really?" She said excitedly.
"Yes, lets go. You guys can come up too." And La'Mai and Chris followed them back to the hospital.
Once on the pediatric floor Olivia let go of Edgar's hand and ran to Noah's room he was up and smiling and laughing with the nurse.
"He has been awake for 20 minutes and we did all of check up before we texted so that you could have your time with your son uninterrupted." The nurse explained to Olivia.
"Okay thank you so much!"
"Mommy!" Noah exclaimed. That's when Edgar, La'Mai, and Chris walked in the room.
"Noah, sweet boy. You're awake. Mommy and Edgar have waited forever for you to get up. How does your side feel?"
"It hurts a little but the nurse gave me medicine to help me feel better. Edgar! You're still here! Mrs. La'Mai and Chief! Where's Abby?" Noah said talking about their daughter. They were really close friends they were in the same class together at school.
"Abby is at school but later I can bring her here and you guys could talk to each other. If that's okay with Olivia?" La'Mai spoke up.
"I'm sure that will be fine."
THAT NIGHT 10:45
La'Mai and Chris had came back to the hotel with Abby for about two hours and left and Olivia and Edgar had change into pajamas and Dr. Lin came in and said that Noah could home as Early as Friday if he showed enough progress and the pain was almost gone. And then they went to sleep the happiest they had been in days.
