Run foxes to earth (or maybe ferrets) Part 2

With the sunrise, the new challenge started. This time the teams have to capture 10 animals that were freed around the island. The ferrets must catch 10 foxes, and the foxes must catch 10 ferrets. All animals must be alive and mostly unscathed.

Once captured, the teams have to leave their prey in cages located in the middle of the island to earn the points. Now both teams are trying to plan their strategy to tackle the challenge. They have only until sunset to catch as many animals as they could.

The ferrets gathered in front of the woods. They have over 11 hours until sunset. Sammy was walking with Shawn and Sky, trying to keep her distance from Jay. While Amy and Lilly were walking with Mike.

Topher clapped his hands to gather everyone's attention. "Ok team, we don't have any clue about where Chris released the foxes. So the smartest idea would be hunting in smaller groups."

"To hunt them, Chris gave us these special items, giant butterfly nets. I haven't played any fox hunting game, but they seem useless." Charlotte said, examining one of the two-handed nets, that were long like brooms.

Mike made a wide smile while twirling around the net. "It can be useful, the net is made from soft materials to not harm the foxes. And hunting them with nets is not unheard. Larger animals like dingos would be a problem. But foxes are in the limit for net hunting."

"Are you sure? Remember that we cannot harm the foxes," said Sky raising an eyebrow.

"Completely sure. I may not look like it, but I'm an expert on Australian survivalism. And there foxes and rabbits are a real problem." Mike winked and smiled full of confidence, showing the gap on his teeth.

Sammy's eyes sparkled. "Really? It's a shame Jasmine is not here. You would become great friends."

Shawn looked shocked at Sammy, but before he could say something, Amy was already scolding her.

"Samey, please stop interrupting. We are trying to decide how to do the challenge." The older twin said, rolling her eyes.

Sammy frowned at her sister, "I was just-"

"In-ter-rupt-ing," said Amy in a sing-song tone.

The younger twin growled and clenched her fist, but stood quiet.

"We are 10, so we should do 5 pairs, dudes." Said Jay in a calm and disinterested tone. "I will go with Sammy."

But Sammy didn't want to go with him, not until she could make her mind after what happened last night. But luckily, someone else didn't agree with Jay's idea.

"Ple-e-ase, Samey is horrible at everything. It would be not fair to pair her with anyone else. She will come with me," Amy said, standing between her sister and Jay.

Sammy considered her options, and as bad as it was teaming with Amy, for now, it was better than be alone with Jay.

Jay frowned, "Hey, sis. You cannot deci-"

Sammy interrupted the skater. "It would be more unfair to let someone team with a mean and bossy girl like you, Amy. I will go with you."

Jay clicked his tongue. "I will go with Sky then."

"All right, I will go with you," said Sky, nodding.

Shawn and Sammy looked with a puzzled expression at the Cree girl, but she only smiled at them.

"Then Lilly will go with Mike, because they are the best and the worst physical players that we have." Said Amy smiling smugly.

Sammy frowned at her sister. "Don't be so mean with her, Amy."

"He is NOT our best physical player," said Sky, also frowning at the older twin.

Lilly walked to Mike's side and bowed politely. Mike rubbed his arm nervously.

"Ok, let's do our best," said the thin guy, with a small smile. Lilly nodding happily.

Charlotte looked at the remaining players and smiled. "With this selection screen, I choose Shawn as my assistant. Let's take the hi-score partner."

Shawn raised an eyebrow and blinked a couple of times, "Assistant?"

Topher then looked at the wrestler and give him a high five. "Well, Draman, it seems it's you and me," then he looked at the campers. "Mike, your team take north, We will take east, Sammy's tea-"

"IT'S AMY'S TEAM," interrupted the older twin.

Topher sighed. "The twin's team will go west, Shawn's team south and Sky's team the lake at the center. Any question?"

"Yes, dude, Why are you giving the orders?" said Jay raising an eyebrow and smiling innocently.

Topher smirked, looking coldly at the skater. "Well, if there are no more intelligent questions, let's do this. Ferrets, let's win this."

This time Mike, Sammy, Sky, Shawn, Charlotte, Lilly, and Dramaman followed Topher's example while Amy rolled her eyes, and Jay glared at him.

Confessional: Charlotte

Charlotte is touching her chin with a puzzled expression, "it's a shame, I wanted to go with Sky to prove to her that I was the best. But that evil twin glitched my plans. I wonder why she selected her sister if their teamwork score is so low. Anyway, I just have to capture more foxes than Sky to prove I am the better player."

At the same time, the foxes were reunited at the dining hall, also planning how to do the challenge.

Heather looked at the presents and frowned, "Where is the sha-idiot?"

"He said that he doesn't need a team of losers, so he will go alone. Sha-bam," replied Alejandro, rubbing his head, ashamed

Heather rolled her eyes. "Did you also had to say the Sha-bam?"

"I pride myself in being as precise as a Swiss clock," Alejandro replied, waggling his eyebrows.

"If only your actions were as reliable as your words," Heather replied, glaring at the Spaniard.

"Let's forget about him from now," said Courtney, folding her arms. "We need to make a plan to get the ferrets."

Duncan smirked, laying against the wall near the table. "A plan? We just have to track and capture those longed rats before sunset, right? What more planning you need? Do you want to build a trap like in those old cartoons?"

Courtney huffed and continued. "Ignoring the clown. I think it's better if we split into teams. That way, we can cover more grounds."

"We only have these nets to capture the ferrets," said Cody, examining a net. "Doesn't they teach you to hunt ferrets as part of the counselor training?"

Courtney's eyes went wide and answered in a louder voice. "Eh? NO? Of course not. What do you think a summer camp counselor means anyway?"

"So much for all that C.I.T. talk in the past," said Heather with an impishly smile. Duncan, Cody, and Beth looked at her with sad eyes.

Courtney put her forehead against the table and covered her head with her hands, annoyed. "Ugh! C'mon guys, can't you be serious?"

"Miss Courtney is right. We should decide the strategy now and proceed with the operation. I think catching those ferrets will be harder than hunting the foxes." Brick said, putting both hands over the table and lowering his unibrow in a worried expression.

Duncan looked at Alejandro and smirked. "Well, is that the case, I will go with Beth."

Alejandro glared at him, and Courtney was also shocked, but she retained her composure better.

Heather smirked, looking at Alejandro. "I will go with Cody then. Right my friend."

"Yes, of course. Let's get those ferrets. All of them," Cody said, smacking his chest.

Alejandro made a sad smile. He looked at Zoey and then at Courtney, "Then Brick and I will go together. Right, Amigo?"

All the presents were surprised. Alejandro would usually go with a girl, but he chose Brick.

The Indie girl was about to protest, as she wanted to go with Brick, but someone spoke faster. "Fine, I will go with Zoey. Now let's divide the island. Heather and Cody North. Brick and Alejandro West. Duncan and Beth South. And Zoey and I will go east. Any question?"

"Yes," said Zoey raising a hand, "What about Lightning? Shouldn't we look for him?" She was shocked but decided to go with Courtney to not slow her teammates.

Alejandro nodded. "I think he can join any team that finds him. That way, he can be more helpful, but we don't spend time looking for him."

"I agree with Alejandro's idea. The team that finds him will work with Lightning," said Courtney while standing up. "And remember the ferrets must be mostly unscathed. So be as careful as you can. Ok, Duncan?"

All the presents turned their gaze toward the delinquent, who simply shrugged and replied offended. "What? Why everyone thinks I will hurt those long rats? Ok, I will be careful. Whatever."

The foxes went out of the dining hall, getting ready to start the challenge.

Confessional: Lightning

The jock was sitting glaring at the camera."I'm tired of this team of sha-losers. We keep losing because they are a group of pansies with too much babbling and too few action. Lightning will win this challenge alone. Sha-Bam." Said Lightning, posing, flexing, and showing his biceps.

The groups went each one to their zone. In the North, Mike was crouching, keeping his ear on the ground, searching for signals of the foxes. Lilly was walking behind him with a worried expression.

"It seems there are some foxes around here. We should act fast before they have the chance to make a lair and sleep," said Mike standing up and looking at the base of the mountain.

Lilly said something in low and inaudible words, but her teammate couldn't understand her, looking at her and raising an eyebrow.

"Sorry, I can't hear you. Can you speak louder?" asked Mike with a sheepishly smile.

The treehugger looked at the ground as if she was about to cry. "I said that is still noon, so I don't think the little foxes will go to sleep."

Mike shook his head while walking. "That is not entirely correct. Foxes are nocturnal animals. They sleep almost all the time during the day. That's why we must catch them before they found a lair."

He began to follow a trail until he found a hole on the ground, freshly dug.

"Is he in there?" Said Lilly with a trembling voice.

The guy with spiky hair shook his head again. "No. It is too small. This is probably a rabbit or a ferret one. But this gave me an idea."

Suddenly, Mike put his index and thumb on his mouth and whistle. The sound from his mouth was like the cry of a small animal.

Lilly winced and whimpered at the realistic sound. "Why did you do that?"

"Is a rabbit cry. Foxes usually come close to that sound." Mike replied, putting his tongue over his lip.

The treehugger kept trembling. "Please, don't do that again. It's so sad."

Before Mike could answer, a fox stuck out its head from a nearby bush. In a swift movement, Mike captured it with the net, in front of a surprised Lilly.

"That was awesome, I can't believe it how quickly you do that," she said, looking at the fox with wide eyes.

The fox whimpered and struggled inside the net while Mike carried it. "It's just practice. Now let's go and leave this little friend at his cage."

"And where did you learn to do that?" said Lilly looking with awe at him.

Mike scratched his head with his free hand. "I honestly don't know. After ending the All-stars season, I gain all the knowledge from my alters. I never enjoyed hunting, and also I am a pacifist. But I have all of Manitoba's knowledge and experience. But as where he learned everything, I don't know."

Lilly smiled. Mike was really a kind and interesting person. "Wow! Then you were lucky that it was Mike and not another alter the one that ended absorbing the rest."

"Yes, Lilly. You are right. I was truly fortunate," replied Mike, his face darkening.

And while they went back to the center to left the fox, Heather and Cody arrived at the foot of the mountain.

"I can't believe we get lost, and we haven't found even one of those pests," said Heather tossing her braid.

"We just get started, don't worry about it," said Cody, smiling sheepishly.

Heather smirked at the brunette boy. "Ok, Cody. Don't keep standing there like a fool. Go and found some ferrets."

"I'm not sure of how to find them. We already walk a lot, and there are no signs of them. Maybe we should build a trap or something." Cody said, rubbing his chin.

"That is a great idea. Go and build a trap. That way, we can catch those vermin without running behind them," said Heather. She smiled and pointed at a tree near them.

Cody narrowed his eyes at the Quee Bee. "Heather, I need your help, I can't do it alone."

"Eh!? But Cody, it was YOUR idea. And now you are expecting that I also work on it?" said Heather putting a hand on her hip and glaring at the Codster.

"Yes, I was actually hoping for that. I mean, it's a team challenge. C'mon Heather, do it for the team," said brunette boy looking at her intently.

Heather rolled her eyes. "I swear that you did this only to bother me. Ok, I will help. What do you need?"

"Please, collect some sticks, medium-sized sticks, not too large, and bring them to me," said Cody while looking for a place with soft earth to start digging.

The Queen Bee walked into the woods nearby, tossed her braid angrily, and began to search for some sticks.

"That Cody, he had the idea of the trap, and I must do the hard work. Who does he think he is? ME? I am the one with brilliant ideas that convince others to perform them," she was nagging when a sound startled her.

It was like a chicken trying to say 'dook.' She felt a shiver down her spine every time she heard it.

Heather looked around with wide eyes. "Who is there? It's not funny, so stop now?"

But the reply was dook, dook.

"CODY? ALEJANDRO? If this is your idea of a joke, IT'S NOT FUNNY! Stop now, or I will be really ANGRY!" Heather shouted, cold sweat running from her forehead.

But the answer was the DOOK DOOK sounds becoming louder and running closer to her.

Cody was digging a hole to try to create a pit trap when he was startled by a scream.

"AAAAAHHHH! GO AWAY! GO AWAY!" Heather shouted. Cody was not sure of what was happening, but she needed help. So he ran as fast as he could into the woods.

The brunette guy arrived at the point and saw Heather on the top of a tree, screaming, with two ferrets scratching and trying to climb.

"Heather, you did it! I'm not sure how but you did it!" said Cody, excited holding the net.

Heather looked at him with wide eyes and terror on her face. "SHUT UP AND GET RID OF THOSE VERMIN," the ferrets scratched, and one climbed a little. "AAHHHH! Don't let them eat me."

Cody walked slowly and captured the two ferrets in his net. The small mammals were lighter than he expected. The Queen Bee then climbed down the tree and suddenly bumped Cody on the head with her fist.

"Ouch! Why did you hit me?" Cody protested, narrowing his eyes.

"If you tell anyone what you just saw, I will widen the gap between your teeth. Capisce?" said Heather, looking at him with cold and unimpressed eyes

Cody gulped and nodded, Heather expression softened, and she made a satisfied smile. "You're indeed a smart guy." The ferrets moved and growled inside the net. Heather jumped back, frightened, blushing after she realized the animals were still trapped.

The Codmeister chuckled as Heather walked in front of him, still blushing. "Let's leave those pests in their cage before I throw them into the river."

Confessional: Cody

Cody was chuckling at the camera."Sometimes you have to let people blow off some steam, and that's what I did. Heather can be mean sometimes, but this time she seems almost reliable. Now what's is funnier is that I don't need to tell others about her getting scared by the ferrets. Because it's already on TV." The brunette man said while making finger guns and winking.

Near the lake, Sky and Jay were walking around looking for signals of the foxes. The Cree girl was not an expert in tracking or hunting, but at least she was trying looking for footprints. Her companion was, in fact, only dragging her, walking slowly, and complaining about everything.

Jay put his hands behind his head and sighed again. "All these challenges are so stupid. Where are the drama and the romance in hunting a lot of foxes and ferrets?"

"If you had so much energy to complain, maybe you should try to help instead of nagging about everything," answered Sky, she crouched to examine the earth next to the lake.

"Don't be so serious. The rest of our teammates can do the hard work." Jay said, licking his piercing. "I asked to be your pair because I wanted to talk with you alone."

"We are a team. We all should do our best. Also, I am not interested in what you have to say if you are not interested in helping us," said the gymnast, scowling at him while standing up.

Jay forced himself to smile. After all, he needed her help. "You know, I want to ask for your help. I actually like Sammy, A LOT. But that Amy is hindering my advances and is straining our relationship."

Sky blinked a couple of times, "I don't think there is any relationship between you and Sammy."

"I was talking of our future relationship," Jay replied in a worried tone. "And if someone can help me, it's you, Sky. You can put a good word with my Sammy and help me to straighten things out."

"Sorry, I can't help you. You are the one that has to talk with her. Just be honest and respect her feelings. That will save you a lot of pain in the future," said Sky, looking at him with sad eyes.

"C'mon, you are her friend. She will listen to you." Jay replied, looking at her eyes. "I only want to have a good time, like you with that guy, Dave."

"That is a private matter. You were not there. So please don't talk about it," Sky said in a more stern tone, frowning.

Jay chuckled, walking toward her. "I wasn't there, but I watch it. Like all the other millions of fans around the world. How you liked him and play with him until you get tired and eliminated him out of the game." Sky's face hardened, pressing her lips together as Jay continued.

"And how you kiss him in the final to try to win the game. It was brilliant! You would surely win if Chris didn't show that stupid video. It was just a summer flick. I don't understand why everyone rebukes you for flirting with that loser-"

The next thing Jay knew was that he was flying and fell hard in the lake. Sky threw him into the air before he could realize it.

Sky's face darkened, and she spoke in a cold tone. "I told you to shut up! You don't know what I was thinking or what I was feeling. I am not like you. And I would never allow Sammy to date you."

"Damn you, bitch! What was that for? You are as crazy as they said on TV," Jay shouted, screaming and splashing in the water, while the gymnast ignored him.

Sky went away. She didn't need to hear anymore, and also didn't want to cry in front of him. Why is everyone so quick to judge her?

Confessional: Jay

The skater was wringing out his torque. "That crazy woman. And I thought she was like me. Anyway, now I need to eliminate her and Amy. Luckily I have an Immunity idol hidden in my bag with my dirty laundry. Next time we lose, I am safe. So I have to choose what of those damn bitches eliminate first."

On the east side, Zoey and Courtney were looking into the woods. Both girls were quiet. They were not enemies nor friends.

The Indie chick was thankful to Courtney for helping her to make up with Dawn. And the Latin girl was grateful for how Zoey stood up for her when Lindsay and Beth criticize her on the first day. But their interaction before that was not the best.

Zoey began to climb a tree. Courtney then decided to gather courage and break the ice. "I am not sure if ferrets can climb trees."

"Miss Puffycheeks, my hamster, climb everything she can get a grip on. Hamsters and ferrets are cousins. So it's not so crazy that they could climb up here," replied Zoey while climbing.

Courtney blinked a couple of times. She knew that ferrets were of the weasels family, not rodents like the hamsters. But decided to keep quiet about that fact. "Can you see something?" shouted the L.I.T.

"No ferrets, but I can see the Chris' imitator and the power ranger. They are probably looking for foxes," said Zoey, comfortably sitting on a branch.

Courtney chuckled, "Power ranger? You mean the wrestler?"

"Don't tell me he doesn't look like a power ranger? With the yellow mask and the net on his face." Zoey replied, also chuckling.

"You surely let your imagination run wild." Courtney said, shooking her head. "Anyway, did you see any ferrets or not?"

Zoey's happy attitude change in a moment, for a more serious one. "No, but I see Lightning, he is near us." Zoey climbed down the tree as quickly as she could. "C'mon, we need to catch up with him."

Courtney knew they should focus on the challenge and not on the jock, but anyway, she asked. "Why should we catch up with him? We are in the middle of the challenge."

"Because we are teammates. And also I want to know why he went away alone. I mean, I am not convinced by what Alejandro said." Zoey replied, smiling and running.

Courtney already knew it. The answer should be something like that, that's the kind of person that Zoey was. Positive and naïve. Some months ago, she would reprimed her, forget Lightning, and focus on the challenge. But not anymore, at least for now.

Both girls ran and caught easily with the athlete. He was looking something hidden behind a tree.

"Lightning, what are you doing here?" asked Zoey in a worried tone.

Courtney huffed but tried to sound concerned. "Yes, you skipped the team gathering. We are a team, remember?"

"Shhhhh! Lightning found one of those pesky dogs. Sha-Look!" Lightning pointed at a ferret, that was with a bear some steps in front of them.

Zoey shooked her head, "Lightning ferrets are rodents, not dogs."

Courtney regret at that moment don't correct Zoey about the ferrets, but right now, there were more important things at hand. She whispered to her teammates, "Quickly, we must capture it before the bear."

"Don't be hasty, Lightning believes they are friends," said the jock, without taking his eyes away from his prey.

"Just look at how they see at each other." Said Zoey, nodding in agreement with Lightning.

The bear and the ferret looked at each other, with sparkling and kind eyes. The ferret was standing on its's hinder paws, and the bear tilting his head with almost a smile. Both stretched their paws. And suddenly, the bear just threw the ferret in its mouth and swallowed it.

"Noooo!" shouted Zoey, distressed.

Lightning jumped from behind the tree, "What was that, damn bear? The ferret was only greeting you."

"What are you doing? Are you crazy?" shouted Courtney at the angry jock.

"Not whiny girl, Lightning is not crazy. He will just make that bear spit the ferret. Sha-Bam." said Lightning running toward the bear.

Zoey ran behind him. "Lightning is right! If we want to save it, it's now or never," she shouted.

Courtney sighed. She didn't miss this show. Definitely, she didn't miss it.

Confessional: Lightning

"Afraid of bears. Ha! Lightning is not afraid of anything. Well, maybe he is afraid of fighting with another Lightning. Because c'mon who would not be afraid of going against the Lightning? Even then, Lightning would not lose because Lightning always win. Sha-Bam" said Lightning, posing, not realizing what he said didn't make any sense.

On the other side, away from the bear, Topher and Dramaman were looking for foxes, without much luck.

"Who would say that hunting foxes would be so hard. I mean on TV, they make it seem much easier," said Topher crouching next to a tree, finding a squirrel that narrowed his eyes at him.

"On TV they had hounds. I don't think we have that kind of smell," said the wrestler while looking into another tree.

Topher kept thinking for a moment. "You are right Draman, we will not catch them like this. We need to be smarter." Then Topher smirked while gazing at the tree in front of him.

After some struggling, Topher tied the squirrel with his shoelace and hang it from a tree. The small purple mammal squealed aggressively but was ignored by the two men.

"Are we using that squirrel as a bait. Really?" said the wrestler in a skeptic tone.

"Foxes and squirrels are natural enemies. And this squirrel is so loud that we should just wait," Topher said, chuckling.

They hid on a nearby bush. Dramaman winced a little while hiding, not too fond of the plan. And after a while, the foxes still didn't appear.

"It's strange, I was sure my plan was flawless," said Topher scratching his head,

The wrestler shrugged. "Maybe your squirrel is not appetizing."

"No, that can't be. I mean, just look at it. All squirrels are the same," said Topher pointing at the small mammal.

The squirrel made a birdie and then blew a raspberry.

"I don't know. I would definitely not eat that one," said Dramaman, sighing.

The west side of the island was formed by beaches and cliffs. There was little space to hide or to make a lair, either for foxes or ferrets. Both twins were walking together on the road. The atmosphere was heavy, the sisters hadn't been together alone since the storm during the woods challenge.

"Try to not be so slow, we have only 7 hours to win the challenge, not 7 days," said Amy in her nth nagging at Sammy. But the younger twin was not bothered by it. Instead, she was wondering about the situation.

"Amy, why did you wanted to come with me?" asked Sammy ignoring her sister's provocations.

"What? Samey, don't be stupid. I didn't want to come with you, I wanted that you didn't go with anyone else and ruined their efforts," said Amy raising her nose.

Sammy sighed, putting a hand on her hip. "You can't trick me so easily. I could team up Sky or Shawn, and you could go with Lilly. There was no need for us to be together."

"You can think whatever you want, Samey. I cannot wait to win our bet so you can go back into the old you. You were useless but at least were obedient and grateful," said Amy, not stopping and looking at the nearby rocks for any signal of the foxes.

The younger twin winced. "What? Wait a minute, the one that loses will accept that the other is the better twin. But I will not become your slave again."

"There you're again! I'm Samey, the victim, the most unfortunate girl in the world." Amy said in a mocking sing-song voice. Then she continued rebuking her sister in a normal voice, "You were never a slave. You were just doing what you were supposed as the younger one."

And here we are again, always going in circles. Amy bullied me all my life. I stand up, she said it was not bullying, that it was her right as the older sister. But I want to be sure, no, I need to be sure that those were here real motives. Sammy thought, something was bothering her about this whole situation, and it seemed that the only chance to get answers was confronting her directly.

Then she paused for a moment and asked the question that has been on her mind since they teamed up. "Amy, honestly, did you do it so Jay couldn't team with me?"

Amy hesitated and then answered, "Are you crazy! Why would I do something like that?" she was caught by surprise by her sister's question.

"I don't know. Maybe after what you saw yesterday. You thought we were dating, and you are trying to meddle." Amy rolled her eyes in response.

Or maybe Amy had another reason to come with her. Sammy froze in her place. It can't be. Amy would never, would she?

"Amy, you were trying to-" but the younger twin was interrupted by her older sister.

"Look, Samey, there! A fox." The older twin said, smirking. "You are lucky I am here. Otherwise, you would never find it."

It was true, down the road was a fox trying to dig between the rocks on the cliff. It was bigger than the twins expected.

Amy handed the net to her younger sister. "Well, what are you waiting for? Go and capture it."

Sammy blinked a couple of times, but there was no use on arguing with Amy. She would go and capture it for the team, not because Amy said so. The younger twin grabbed the net and went slowly to capture the small mammal.

"Pay attention. Samey. Don't' let it go. It already knows you are there. So be quick and try to do it right for once. Ok?" shouted Amy, much to the dismay of the younger twin.

The fox noticed her coming closer, alerted by Amy shouts, and tried to run, but Sammy anticipates it. She dashed too fast, and albeit with a clumsy movement, she caught her prey.

The older twin clapped slowly. "It was horrible, but you did it. So at least you give results. Only next time, try to do it right."

"Next time, why you don't show me how to do it?" said Sammy narrowing her eyes at her sister.

Both sisters keep glaring at each other. It would be a long challenge.

Confessional: Amy

The older sister was smirking while frowning. "Who does Samey think she is? Of course, I can trap a fox or two. She forgets WHO was the leader of the cheerleaders. WHO won the highschool beauty contest, and WHO had better grades in school, well except when she cheated. It's so tiresome always having to take care of that ungrateful little sister."

On the same side of the island, over the cliffs, Alejandro and Brick were looking for ferrets. The cadet was crouching and examining the ground for tracks of the small mammals, without any luck.

Brick stood up, scratching his head. "That's weird, I can't find any trail neither from ferrets, foxes or any other animals. I'm sorry."

"Don't worry, amigo. You are doing your best, and we are a team." Alejandro said, putting his arm across the cadet's shoulders. "I'm so glad to have you here. Those poor ferrets lose his best men."

"Thanks for your kind words. But the ferrets still have many great competitors. Many of them better than me." Brick said, smiling.

"You are a humble man, Brick McArthur. I can relate to a good man like you." Alejandro told him, getting away from him and going down the road.

Brick was smiling shyly as he was not used to be complimented. Alejandro was polite and funny. Besides his friends from the Revenge season, he was the one that made him feel more welcomed into the team.

Alejandro was smirking proudly. He then heard an animal crying dook, dook. The Spaniard looked down the cliff, and there, trapped in the rock down the cliff, was a ferret. The poor animal was trying to climb, but his claws couldn't pierce the stone wall.

"Mira a quien tenemos aquí[1]." Alejandro said as he watched the animal. "Brick, prepare the net, I found one."

Brick ran to the side of the mountain and look at the trapped ferret. "Oh!, poor little one. But rescuing it will not be easy."

"Let me do it," Alejandro said, and in a moment, he was climbing down the short distance between him and the ferret.

The Spaniard gazed with kind eyes at the scared animal and extend an arm. "Come here, you are safe now. Just come with me, and everything will be ok."

Confessional: Alejandro

"You don't know how many times that small sentence has helped me. Especially in parties and at the nightclub." Alejandro said, winking. "Of course, that was before Heather. Chica, you know I love you," he added, blowing a kiss at the camera.

The ferret blushed and covered its cheeks for a moment. Then it ran over Alejandro's arm and up to the top of his head. Alejandro started to climb with the ferret as his hat.

"Wow, you really know your way with the animals." Brick said, looking with wide eyes at them.

"What can I say? I am charming." Alejandro smiled while climbing. "Now, help me with the ferret."

Brick tried to grab the animal, but it began to growl, and suddenly jumped into his face, scratching and biting him.

"Ouch! Augh! Calm down! What is your problem? Ouch," Brick protested, walking around while trying to take the ferret off his face.

Alejandro shooked his head as he ended climbing the cliff. "Calm down, she is feeling your stress."

"Ouch! It's hard to calm down with a small, Ouch, animal trying to bit your eyes." The cadet said, walking backward, crashing against something.

"Stoooop!" Shouted Alejandro a second too late, Brick pushing him off the cliff.

"NOOOOOOO!" Brick shouted as he and the ferret looked with anguished expression at Alejandro, falling from the top of the cliff and into the water.

Estúpidos, por alguna razón siempre acabo rodeado de estúpidos[2], were Alejandro last thoughts before sinking into the lake.

On the south side of the island, Shawn was examining the grass and the ground, Charlotte looking at him with a cold expression.

"It's strange, it's like the animals ran away from something," Shawn said, standing up. "Look at all the tracks and broken branches."

"Low-level animals are afraid of high-level ones. Maybe it is a bear," said Charlotte while shrugging.

Shawn shocked his head. "Animals are not afraid of Zombies, so we can rule out that possibility. Maybe a UMA."

"What's a UMA?" Charlotte asked while looking inside an animal lair in the ground, but it was empty.

Shawn sighed, there were so many people that ignored the basics. "UMA is the acronym for Unknown Mysterious Animal. The term includes all those animals that the government is trying to hide, like Nessy, Bigfoot, or the Chupacabras.

Charlotte blinked a couple of times. She knew that Shawn was an eccentric man. But it was the first time she was with him alone. "Your theory is good. But it is more probable that the game designers decided to put some kind of mechanical animal on the island. To serve this stage boss."

"You mean that Chris still has some robots on the island. It is possible, after all, he said that there were real animals on the island. Not that there were no more mechanical animals." Shawn said, rubbing his chin.

Charlotte smiled, if she could find a mechanical tree or rock. She can look and identify all the mechanical animals in the proximity. But didn't want to disclose her game advantage to an opponent. Much less a dangerous opponent like him.

Then they heard some rustles behind the bushes. Shawn put a hand in front of Charlotte and launched a rock as hard as he could. Hearing a loud 'thuck' on the impact. And then, some growling.

Shawn and Charlotte's eyes went wide as the animal leap from the bushes over them.

Meanwhile, also in the south, Beth was walking with Duncan, looking for ferrets. The wannabe was smiling and talking nonstop, while the delinquent was wondering if his plan backfired.

"And then Linds said 'Beth don't eat that, is that lady's hairclip, not a cookie.' But I had already bitten it. It must be the most embarrassing moment of our vacations in England. Well, after the Scotland yard incident." Beth commented, smiling a lot while looking for the ferrets.

"It was an awesome story, I can't believe you two had such a great time in England," said Duncan, trying to lie, but it sounded sarcastic.

Luckily for him, Beth didn't notice it. "It's because Linds is really good for organizing travels. Maybe next time we can go together. We can talk with Tyler, and maybe Alejandro too."

This was exactly why the delinquent came with her. "Hey, hey! Stop right there. Did you say, Alejandro? Don't tell me you are falling for that casanova?" Duncan said smirking. He already knew she was being played by Alejandro, and he cannot allow it. Beth was part of his strategy, and he couldn't let her fall for one of his most dangerous opponents.

"Maybe he has changed. He is not the manipulative and evil man he was on World Tour. He is kind and sensible. And he broke up with Heather," explained Beth with a small smile.

"It could be all an act. Maybe Alejandro is acting like that to gain your trust and then stab you in the back." Duncan said, looking for tracks on the ground.

Beth blushed and make a big smile. "Don't worry Dun, I will be careful. Thanks for worrying about me."

Duncan raised a side of his unibrow. "Dun?" he said in a low voice while looking at the other side of the bushes.

What he found left him speechless.

In the area were some animals knocked out, bunnies, squirrels, a couple of foxes, crocodiles, and even a moose.

And sitting in the middle of them, growling menacingly, was a white ferret with a scar on its right eye and a bump on his head.

The delinquent rolled his eyes. "You had to be kidding me."

"Duncan, look, behind it!" Beth said, pointing at a body behind the ferret. It was Charlotte, from the fan's team.

"Ok, this officially, it's becoming weirder and weirder by the minute." Duncan sighed. He should have gone with Courtney.

Author Notes:

[1] Mira a quien tenemos aquí = Look who we have here

Estúpidos, por alguna razón siempre acabo rodeado de estúpidos = Stupids, for some reason I always end surrounded by stupids

The challenge is on, the teams are divided, and now everyone is already hunting for their prey. Who will win, foxes or ferrets? What will happen with the twins? Is Alejandro ok? Could Courtney team save the ferret eaten by the bear? What will happen with Jay? And can Beth and Duncan capture the albino ferret? Yes, a lot of questions for the next chapter of Total Drama Tyranny of the masses.

This episode is an experimental one because the challenge is a mix of story development and a mix of challenge. I tried to put some gags and comedy in the middle of the drama, and I hope it worked. This time I am not showing the numbers of the captured animals to keep an element of uncertainty.
