Greetings, chapter 21, is here. A new day is starting. What will happen with the ferrets now that Jay is out of the game? And what will happen to Lightning now? Will he continue his feud with Beth? And talking about her, will she choose between Alejandro or Duncan? Find out next.
And if you want, please leave a review with your opinion about the episode or the story so far. Or if reviewing is not for you, at least mark the story as a favorite, to let me know you are enjoying it. And before starting, let me answer the past chapter reviews.
GeoFicts: Thanks a lot. Honestly, the port part with Amy was one of my favorites to write on the last episode, and about your proposal, I sent you a PM.
gman5846: Yep, he was the first to bite the dust, but his idol was real, at least until he needed ;)
guest: The amazon remnants are playing well the game.
Tempokeep: Jay had some issues and honestly was quite a character to write, his focus was different from the rest of the campers, but I hope he seemed realistic enough. Now, let's wait to see what happens between the twins.
guest2: thanks for pointing it out, is already changed.

Between a Quarry and a Hard Rock Part 1
Last time on Total Drama, Tyranny of the Masses. Our campers become hunters, and they have to run all over the island to hunt and capture 10 adorable critters (Without hurting them, the animals' right groups and their lawyers can rest assured.) The ferrets had to catch 10 foxes and the foxes 10 ferrets.
The hunt was awesome, with a lot of struggling, arguing, and even bear fighting. But in the end, the foxes hunting ferrets were better that the ferrets hunting foxes, so the foxes win, and the ferrets had to choose a ferret to send away. And the ferret hunted was our chick hunter Jay, that from hunter became the prey when someone hunted his invincibility idol, eliminating him from the competition. Who will be hunted down this time? Fox or ferret? Choose your favorite hunter here on Total Drama, Tyranny of the Masses
He woke up by some of the morning sounds and the sun entering from the cabin's window. Lightning and Brick were already out there, while Duncan and Cody were still sleeping. He found himself curled up inside his sleeping bag. When he slept alone, he needed to sleep on the bag, or he would spend hours without sleep a wink. But he, Alejandro Burromuerto, rarely slept alone.
Well, at least when he was not in a reality show trying to win 1 million dollars. The Spaniard jumped off his bed and changed from his sleeping underwear to a clean suit of clothes. Today was their rest day. These days were almost as important as the challenge days, at least if he wanted to win the game.
He went out of the cabin toward the dining hall, where he would find Beth. Alejandro became closer to the brunette girl these last days. If he was attracted to her or was using her was something only he knew for sure.
And as other days, Beth was there, eating alone on the foxes' table. It was too early for most of the people to take breakfast. Courtney was taking a shower, Brick jogging, Lightning was doing his morning warm-up, Heather, Cody, Duncan, and Zoey were still sleeping. He knew exactly what everyone on his team was doing at almost every moment.
"Muy buen día señorita[1]," said Alejandro sitting next to Beth, "You are so beautiful this morning, especially when you are showing a sweet smile like that."
Beth blushed and waved at him. "Hello, Alejandro. Hehe, you are too dangerous, you know it, right?"
"Dangerous? I? Haha, of course not. I am as inoffensive as a corderito," said Alejandro while trying to cut the slob that Chef gave him as breakfast. "Anyway, you seem so happy this morning. Does something good happened?"
Beth shook her head. "Not really, but we won yesterday's challenge and didn't have to send someone home." She was also happy because Alejandro and Duncan paid so much attention to her. But there was no way she could tell him this.
"Yes, we were fortunate, indeed. For a moment, I was afraid we were cursed or something like that." Alejandro said, not noticing how she winced at those words. "Well, it is not like curses or jinxes are real anyway."
Beth's eyes went wide, and she grabbed Alejandro's sleeve. "Don't say that. I used to be like you, but believe me, curses are REAL." The brunette girl's face darkened as she said that. "I find out the hard way."
Alejandro huffed, lowering his guard. "Por favor! You sound just like Heather, with all that not whistling in the night and never reserve the number 4 room."
Beth looked at him with a pained expression, as if he had slapped her in the face. "Are you saying I am like Heather?" she asked with a cracking voice.
"I am only saying that being superstitious only stresses you out and doesn't help you," Alejandro said with a kind smile. "Also, I don't expect that you can forgive her, but she is not as bad as you think. In fact, she is full of surprises once you know her better."
There was a sudden silence. Beth realized that even if they weren't dating anymore, Alejandro still cared for the Queen Bee. "Do you still like her?" she asked without thinking.
The Spaniard chuckled and leaned toward her, whispering to her ear. "Beth, are you getting jealous? You shouldn't get worried about that kind of thing. My heart is unmovable."
Beth blushed as Alejandro began to try to eat his breakfast again. After ending, he needed to go and look for Brick. After all, the cadet went back to look for him yesterday after Alejandro fell from the cliff, and being grateful to him is courtesy.
Confessional: Beth
"Alejandro is soooo wonderful. He is handsome and polite. But as my granny used to say, 'If it's too good to be true, it will probably not be true,'" said Beth in a stern tone, imitating her grandma.
"But again, just look at him, it's really toooo gooood!" added the brunette girl, almost drooling, but she quickly regained her composure, "I wonder what Duncan will think of all this? I don't want to hurt him."
In the woods near the mountains, Sky was doing her morning routine, or that is what everyone else thought. For the past 12 days, she was coming here searching for something. At first, it took all her time to familiarize herself with the everchanging mechanical island. But now at least she knew which parts change and which ones remain the same.
But even if she knew where to search, she still didn't have any luck. She sat to rest for a moment after another fruitless morning.
"Maybe I just have to ask Chris directly," thought aloud the Cree girl. "Nah. There is no way he will tell me the truth. It's just as if he enjoys messing with us."
Suddenly she heard something moving behind the bushes, and for a second, she gazed a human shadow. IT CAN'T BE, Sky thought before standing up and running after it.
As she was coming closer, the person began to run away. Sky bit her lower lip. "PLEASE WAIT! I just want to talk." She shouted, her voice a mix of frustration and hope.
But instead of stoping, the shadow speeded up. Sky felt her blood boiling. And I just asked him to stop. She thought, her frustration turning in anger, but even if you are fast, I am a professional athlete, so you will stop and hear what I have to say.
Sky began to focus and ran even faster. In a moment, she jumped and tackled the shadow into the ground.
"Sorry about that, but I told you to stop," Sky said, frowning annoyed, but her expression changed to one of disappointment after realizing the true identity of the shadow.
"Shawn!? Why did you run away like that?" the gymnast asked, standing up and helping him to stand up too.
The Zombie expert shook the dust from his clothes and adjusted his toque. "Why!? Because you were chasing me, that's why."
"But I asked you to stop!" said Sky louder, throwing her arms in the air.
The conspiranoic folded his arm, closing an eye. "C'mon, who in their right mind stops when someone chasing them ask them to stop?"
This discussion will not get her anywhere. After all, Shawn was just being Shawn.
"And what were you doing out here?" asked Shawn raising an eyebrow.
Sky eyes started darting back and forth, "Er, I? I was just, I was just doing my morning routine. YES! I was doing my routine running around here."
"You were doing your routine, deep in the woods, without previous warm-up, and decided to stop at this cave along the way? It's that what you are trying to say?" asked Shawn, his expression sterner than his usual nervous one.
After a moment of silence, the athlete just made a forced smile and replied a timidly "Yes."
Shawn nodded silently, and she sighed, relieved. But soon she will find that she relaxed too quickly.
The conspiranoic looked at her frowning. His gaze was so sharp that Sky felt he was piercing her. "Sorry, but your story stinks more than a rotten zombie. You know I don't like you, but I decided to believe you and giving you a chance, and now you lie to me?"
He was right. The Cree girl took a deep breath and answered him, looking at his eyes with the same determination. "As absurd as it sounds, I believe you. So I was searching for Dave. But I didn't found anything yet, not even a trace of him on the island."
"I may have a clue," said Shawn, smirking. "Did you remember that small blond girl in the foxes, the one with psychic powers?"
Sky raised an eyebrow. She should be used by now to Shawn's personality, "Dawn. The one from the Revenge season. Did she found something?"
The zombie expert nodded, closing one eye again. "She said that she saw a man without an aura in the woods. A man with an aura like no one on the camp or the staff has."
The athlete frowned disappointedly. "That doesn't mean anything! A man without aura? What does that even mean? Did she said how he looked at least?"
"No, but we are certain that there is someone else on the island. Aren't we? For me, that is enough evidence, and I will not stop looking for Dave until I found him," said Shawn turning away from the gymnast. "Now, I will go back to Sammy. Do what you want, but if you also want to find him, we should team-up. Think about it."
She stood there, thinking about Shawn's offer. Did she really wanted to find him? Of course, she wanted to find and apologize to him. But another part of her was afraid. She finds him, and then what? What if he is still mad, or if he doesn't want to listen to her.
There was no use in tormenting herself with this. Sky decided to go back to the camp and take breakfast. Thinking about this would be easier with a full stomach.
Confessional: Shawn
"I still don't trust Sky completely. That's why I kept an eye on her. But it seems she is as decided as me to find him or his remains in this cursed island. I hope the man without aura IS Dave and not some kind of reptilian," said Shawn rubbing his chin and looking at the ceiling.
Courtney was sitting at the foot of a tree reading. She read a lot in the past. In fact, she always thought she was an avid reader. But as years passed, she realized that all her life, she only read books her parents let her read or because of a school assignments. In her 19 years, she never read a book because she wanted, and she was trying to do that right now.
As she was reading, someone came to talk to her. To her surprise, it was not Duncan, or Zoey, or Heather. Even Cody would not be that surprising, even if she and the brunette guy were not in the best terms.
"Hello, Angry girl. What are you doing?" asked Lightning as he sat next to her. The white-haired athlete was sweating a lot. He was probably training when he saw her.
"I was trying to read. When suddenly, someone interrupted me." Courtney answered in a snarky tone.
But the jock was oblivious to this, snatching the book from her in a sudden and quick movement. "Reading? That is so sha-boring. At least is a sports novel? Let me see it."
"HEY! Give it back!" said Courtney glaring at him.
"'Pride and prejudice'? Lightning never heard of this one. There is not a movie or something?" asked Lightning before tossing the book back to her owner.
Courtney caught the book and continued glaring at him. "Of course there is. But I wanted to read the original book. It is a completely different experience from the movies. Did you never read a book in your life?" The Latin girl asked, but she already knew the answer.
Or so she thought. "Of course, Lightning has read books before. For the sports scholarship, they ask you a minimum academic standard. So Lightning read all those boring books to get a good grade and then forget about them."
The Latin girl blinked a couple of times. "That is really impressing, but I am not sure if it's in a good way."
"Of course, Lightning is impressive. Just look at this," said Lightning, flexing.
Courtney huffed. Maybe if she just played along, he would go away. "Yes, yes. They are impressive. You should be proud." She tried to sound sincere but sounded snarky.
Fortunately, Lightning didn't care. "Yes, but yesterday you and that Zoey were also impressive. Lightning didn't need any help to rescue that little ferret. But you did a great job, Shabam. And just when I thought this team was full of losers."
"You also did your part. I mean, you were the one that put his arm inside the bear's mouth and took out the ferret from its stomach." Courtney was still amazed that they survive. Maybe the bear was trained by the production? No, it was too silly. But again, Chris was the one in charge of the show.
Anyway, the jock interrupted her train of thought. "And Lightning was also thinking we three could team-up. I mean, just look at our team. There are no team players. They are too weak or too greedy to play the game."
This was really unexpected. Was he really proposing an alliance? But Courtney could use it to her advantage. "But you and Alejandro weren't friends? Why not let him in our team?"
Lightning kept looking to the sky, with a sad expression uncommon in the jock. "That is something that Lighting doesn't want to talk about. But until Lighting is sure he is a friend. He will not let him in his team."
Courtney was not sure about it. But if she wanted to win, she needed allies. "Ok, if Zoey accepts, I will also be part of your little team, ok? Now go away so I can continue reading my novel."
The jock stood up with a jump and threw her into the air. Poor Courtney screaming as Lightning took her by surprise. Hugging her as she fell in his arms. "Thanks, Angry girl. We will rock this competition."
As Courtney recovered from the shock, she started to hit Lighting in the head and shoulders with her book. "Are you crazy? Throw me like that again, and I will hit you with a post instead of a book."
"Ouch, ouch. Ok, Angry girl, calm down. Lightning was just too happy." Said Lighting protecting himself with his arms. "Well, sha-Lighting had to go, I need to take my protein intake. So long." And the jock ran away from the furious L.I.T.
Courtney huffed, sat again, and continued reading. Maybe she could finish it before a new interruption appears.
Confessional: Lightning
"Lightning doesn't need a team. He can win the game alone." Lightning then flexed his arms and kissed his biceps. "But if Lightning wants to sha-eliminate someone, he needs votes. And right now, I need to eliminate 2 persons. So if the Lightning will team with someone, it will be better someone who can beat a bear. Sha-Bam."
On the ferrets side, Charlotte was in the middle of the woods trying to connect Max's invention to the island main computer. She could get inside the file system. But the access to the campfire votation files was still out of her reach.
"I can't believe the level of the security system. And without the right tools, I feel like walking in a high-level dungeon without maps or add-ons. Well, I don't care. I am a pro, and pros always find a strategy to beat the level." Charlotte said to herself. Unknown to the e-gamer, someone was hearing her conversation.
"Uwu! What should I do?" Lilly said, watching the e-gamer from behind a tree. "I know what Max told me, but it is so unfair to eliminate her. But again, I don't want to be yelled. What should I do?"
And at that moment, a voice startled the redhead, "And who is gonna yell to you, Lilly?"
The tree hugger was so afraid that she froze in her place and couldn't scream. Her eyes move slowly at the person behind her. She was Amy.
"What's with that reaction? It's as if you just saw a ghost or something. And why are you spying at Charlotte." The older twin raised an eyebrow, looking at the treehugger.
Lilly stood there, looking at Amy like a deer in headlights. She was not only surprised watching Charlotte, but she also asked why.
"Hey, did you fell asleep while standing there? Really? Like c'mon, I know you are a little slow, but this is getting ridiculous." Said Amy snapping her fingers in front of Lilly.
The redhead blushed and replied in a low and barely audible voice. "I, er, I was just, you know, and then, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, but when I realized-"
"STOP! You are not making any sense." Amy interrupted her, folding her arms, the vein on her temple pulsing. "Let's try this again, ok?"
The treehugger nodded exaggeratedly, then the twin smirked and continued. "You were spying Charlotte."
Lilly shook her head wildly. Amy rolled her eyes. "That was not a question, Lilly, it was OBVIOUS. The question is, WHY are you spying her?"
The older twin was so loud that startled the e-gamer. Charlotte panicked and tried to disconnect Max's contraption, but was too slow, and Amy could see she had connected the small device to a tree. Seeing her chance, Amy stopped hiding behind the tree with a smug expression.
"Good afternoon, Charlotte. How unusual to find you out here," said the twin, coming closer to the e-gamer.
"Hello, Amy. I was just, em, wanting to enjoy the forest stage of this game. Darn it." Charlotte couldn't think in a lie quickly enough. "And what are you doing here?"
"Me, I was looking for birds and bunnies with Lilly. You know how hopeless she is alone, so I come with her to make sure she doesn't get lost." Amy lied with a naturalness that nobody sans Lilly or Sammy would catch her.
Charlotte cursed her luck. Of all the people who could found her, it must be Amy. She didn't like the older twin because she was one of those who voted Jasmine out.
"I haven't seen squirrels or any other low-level critter at this stage. You will probably have more luck a the other side of the woods." The e-gamer said, hoping that she would belive her and just went away.
But Charlotte didn't realize that Amy was just playing like a cat with a mouse before eating it. "That's is so helpful. Thanks a lot, Charlotte, we will be on our way."
The gamer let out a sigh of relief a little too soon. "But before going, can you explain to me what were you doing with that device that you connected to the tree. It seemed so interesting," Amy smirked, enjoying the shocked expression of Charlotte.
"Device? I donֹ't know what are you talking about?" replied the e-gamer, sweating a lot. This was worst than the last boss from a raid.
Amy raised her eyebrows, feigning surprise. "Oh, you don't. That's a shame, then maybe I should ask Chris. He surely will be more than happy to hear about this."
"NO! Don't do that," Charlotte shouted, she was against the ropes. There was no way out. "Come closer, I will show you."
Amy and Lilly walked toward her. Reluctantly the e-gamer took out the device from under her shirt and connected to the tree. In a moment, the crudely attached display showed a welcome message and a small display to write commands.
"Is that like a computer? Can you call to the outside with it?" said Amy, she was honestly impressed with that contraption. It looked just like a collection of random junk pasted together, but it seemed to work.
"No, I already try that. It can only access to the island computer. And even then, the paths to access the different systems are blocked by some high-level security measures," explained the e-gamer.
Amy raised an eyebrow. "Can you change the votes using this? Or find the location of the immunity idols?"
Lilly was surprised. It was not even 10 minutes that Amy find out about this. And she already had a lot of ideas on how to take advantage of it.
"No, nothing like that. I can access general information. The result of the popularity polls, maps of the island, I could even make it change the terrain, but you cannot modify the natural areas," said Charlotte, frowning angrily at her own bad luck. "I can even hack some cameras, like the ones around here, so they can't hear us."
Amy's smile turned into a disappointed frown. "Well, it's not much, but it's good enough. Do you think you can access the voting system?"
"Of course I can, there is no system I cannot enter," after saying those words, Charlotte realized that she should have lied.
"Excellent. Then I wish you good luck, my friend. After all, we want to keep this a secret between us, right?" said Amy patting Charlotte's shoulder. "I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." then the older twin turned away, "Let's go, Lilly, there is still time to found some bunnies."
The older sister went away with Lilly while Charlotte stood there, cursing her own luck.
"Amy, what you say about friendship. Were you serious?" asked Lilly in her usual timid tone.
"It was a quote from Casablanca," said Amy, Lilly looking at her with a confused expression. "Casablanca. The movie, you know, with Humprey Bogart?" Lilly blinked a couple of times. "Forget it. Anyway, I was thinking of using her as our ally. Why do you ask?"
Lilly remembered what Max said, that they need to eliminate Charlotte as soon as possible. "Maybe she is dangerous, you know. And if it doesn't bother you, it could be a good idea if we, you know. Eliminate her next."
"I didn't expect that. Lilly, that was really bold of you." Amy walked and tilted her head. "You are right. If she gets access to the computer, she may eliminate us. I will think about it. Thanks my friend."
The treehugger felt bad for Charlotte, but this needed to be done, right?
Confessional: Charlotte
The black girl punched the wall of the confessional. "I can't believe that toxic player Amy caught me. Darn it. And just when I was so close. But this is not game over. I will find a power-up and beat her in her own game. She doesn't know who she is dealing with." Charlotte said, hitting her palm with her fist, wincing from pain after hurting herself against the confessional wall.
At sunset on the docks, Beth was sitting waiting for someone. She was enjoying the sun going down on the horizon as the person arrived at their appointment.
"Hello, Beth. You come too early, don't you?" said Duncan, walking from the woods.
Beth turned back, smiling, "Hello! Yes, I wanted to see the sunset, it's so beautiful." The brunette girl was surprised to see the delinquent was with Zoey.
Duncan kept looking at the distance. Beth noticed certain sadness in the orange eyes of the delinquent as he was watching the sunset. But he didn't say a word, and his expression changed as fast as the sun disappeared.
"Whatever," said Duncan breaking the silence, "Beth, you already know Zoey. She is the other member of our alliance."
Zoey bowed politely. "I know we didn't start on the right foot. But let's do our best together."
"Yes, Zoey, I'm also glad of working with you," replied Beth, when Duncan mentioned another person on the alliance, she was not the one she was expecting. "Phew! I was afraid this other person would be Courtney."
Duncan raised an extreme of his unibrow. "Why do you thought that?"
"Because in the past challenges, you were talking with Courtney. And Linds was sure you were trying to get closer to her again. Sorry for saying that is just silly speculation," said Beth chuckling nervously.
Zoey look with curiosity at the delinquent. "It's true! What happened on the first night? Did she meet you at the campfire or not? I wanted to ask you since ever."
There was a moment of silence. Duncan then smirked. "Are you really that interested in me going back with Princess? I think we should focus first on the game."
"Of course. Forget about it. Why would you want to go back with that uptight and selfish C.I.T.?" said Beth, Zoey narrowed her eyes at her. But decided to keep quiet.
"Whatever, as I said, we should concentrate on our objective. First, we need to keep winning. And if we lose, we must try to don't get ourselves eliminated," said Duncan crouching next to the girls.
Beth raised her hand as in the school. "It would not be better trying to eliminate someone. I want to take revenge for Linds as soon as possible."
"We will only vote for the sha-idiot if he is an obvious option. If not, we will focus on the obvious one. Once we are on the merge, we can focus on specific targets," explained Duncan. Beth didn't seem convinced. That's why he wanted to wait, but if Alejandro was making his move on Beth, he needed to act quick.
"What if the obvious one is a friend, like Brick. I don't want to vote him out," asked Zoey pouting.
Duncan rolled his eyes. "We will help if we can, but if it's him or us, we will ditch him. Ok, Red? We cannot save them all."
Beth made a big grin. "Wow, Duncan, it's like you had already thought in everything."
"You give me too much credit," said Duncan, smirking, "For now, our top priority is to survive until the merge and if we can eliminate Lightning."
Zoey and Beth both nodded. But the redhead still had something to say. "But please, let's try to make low priority people like Brick and Courtney. I think they can be potential allies."
"Courtney again? I think you are giving her too much credit, Zoey," said the glasses girl. She honestly didn't like her.
"For now, it's us three. In the future, we can talk about adding someone else. But don't tell anyone. If the others find we are on an alliance, they will target us," said Duncan looking at Zoey.
"Ooook, Let's wait then. But I would prefer telling them sooner," said the indie girl. She was happy to team up with Duncan, but she didn't like leaving Brick behind.
"With this, we end our first meeting. Let's try to not meet the three at the same time except on campfire nights. Let's win this," said Duncan putting a hand in front of him. Beth and Zoey putting her hands over his, making the alliance.
"Only a question," said Beth raising her hand again as in the school. "What will happen once we reach the top 3?" She always wanted to ask that.
"You are going ahead too fast. But we can always divide the prize in three. If we do that, you can even eliminate me on the third. I already win the prize once." Duncan winked at Beth, who blushed.
Zoey nodded and raised her arm, excited. "Then let's go to the cafeteria to celebrate our newborn alliance."
"What did I say of not being seen together?" said Duncan rubbing his temple.
"C'mon Dun, only this time. To celebrate!" said Beth holding him by the arm.
"Dun? Oh my goodness is so cute, can I call you Dun too?" said Zoey, her eyes sparkling.
"Whatever, I don't care. I didn't give Beth permission either, but she calls me that anyway." Said Duncan shrugging.
The three went together to the Dinning hall, not knowing that one of them had ulterior motives on this alliance.
Confessional: Beth
"Dun surprised me. I mean, I knew he was smarter than he seemed, but he really put some thought on the alliance. Also, he had that bad boy aura that makes him so irresistible. And he said he is not after Courtney, because he didn't want to make me jealous." Beth squee and tap the ground with her foot, excitedly. "But I am afraid how Alejandro will react to this situation. I know I have to choose one of them, but which one?"
On the dining hall, at the ferrets' table were Dramaman, Topher, and Mike. The host wannabe wanted to celebrate with them Jay elimination. Nobody else was in the place, so they could be as loud as they wanted.
Topher, with a big smile, raised his glass of water. "And I want to propose a toast for us. That we can help each other to reach as far as we can in the competition."
"Cheers," said the three, clinking their glasses.
Mike looked at his glass a little disappointed ."Toast must be made with beer. This was nice but didn't have the same feeling."
"Sorry, but I am a minor. Even if we had a beer, I can't drink," explained Dramaman in an ashamed tone.
Topher chuckled, "Don't be so uptight Draman. I am also a minor, and drinking a beer once in a while is not so bad."
"Yes, man. What's more, if you are in Calgary, call me and let's go and take some drinks," said Mike with a big grin that showed the gap on his teeth.
"I am from Ottawa. So if you are in the city, give me a call. I even have a guest room, so you don't have to pay for a hotel." Said Topher, winking.
The wrestler sighed. "This is so irresponsible. But if you are in Toronto, call me. I am not sure of going for a drink, but we can at least have dinner together."
"That's the spirit, my friend," said Mike drinking all his water in one go. "I really miss a coldie right now."
"That's unexpected. When I saw you on TV, Mick, I thought you were a lot more serious and reserved. But you are really relaxed and funny," Topher chuckled and give a light pat on the thin guy's shoulder.
Mike blanched and rubbed his arm nervously. "Right hehe. After All-stars, I discovered that I loved the taste of beer. But luckily, Zoey is always taking care of me, so I don' drink too much."
"Zoey seems like a great girl. You must be one of the most fortunate contestants on the show. Not only did you found your girlfriend, but she also won a season and share the prize with you," said Topher, making a dreamy smile, envying his friend.
"That's true, I haven't regret coming here even once," replied Mike, more relaxed, now that the subject change to his girlfriend. "Zoey is awesome. I am so fortunate to have her in my life. Toph, Draman, did you have a girlfriend waiting for you out there?"
The wrestler just shook his head. While Topher made a sad smile. "I have never dated anyone. I was to busy trying to make my debut on TV, that I cut off from my life most of my friends, and any possible relationship. It was too late when I realized it was not worthy."
"Ouch! But don't worry, I was also alone all the time before the show. So you can start again, Toph. Just give yourself a chance." Said Mike putting a hand on his shoulder.
Confessional: Topher
Topher is looking with a sad face at the screen. "Ok, I will say it. I want to apologize to Mick and Draman. In the beginning, I just wanted to use them as pawns in my plans. But as I get to know them, they are really nice guys. So I'm sorry for trying to use you." Topher bowed his head. "I hope we can laugh together when this goes live."
Topher combed his hair with a hand and took a deep breath. "To be honest, there is a girl that I like on the island. But I am afraid I blew my chance with her."
Dramaman fell from his seat, hitting his chin against the table, while Mike looked with wide eyes at the host wannabe. "Really? Oh man, that is wonderful. Who is she? It's Sky?" said Mike smiling excitedly.
"Why Sky?" said the wrestler that was just recovering from his fall.
"Yes, I mean, she is attractive, but it's quite bland, isn't she?" said Topher raising an eyebrow.
Mike put a hand on his chin, "Bland? No, she seems like a good and caring person. Optimist and maybe a little competitive, but not bland. She gave me some great vibes." He didn't admit it, but the Cree girl reminded him of Zoey.
"She is shyer than more people think. But if you get the time to know her, she is really amusing and kind." Dramaman said, rubbing his head after hitting the floor. "Well, at least she seems that way from the few times I have talked to her."
Topher tilted his head. "Anyway, it is not Sky." The host wannabe took a moment to gather courage. "It's Sammy."
Both Mike and Dramaman jaw dropped (well, at least it seemed like the masked man jawed dropped.)
"Sammy is a wonderful chick. You should tell her," said Dramaman after recovering from the surprise.
Mike nodded and give the host wannabe thumbs up. "Yes, you make a great couple. Wait! That does mean you and her sister also make a great couple? This can be tricky."
They all laughed at Mike's antics. Topher then looked at his glass. "It was my fault that Amy almost die. I tried to help them make up and only make Amy upset, so she ran away. I couldn't help them, but because I meddled on her business, it almost ended in a tragedy."
"Wait? Just for that?" Mike said with wide eyes.
Topher glared at him. "Just for that, you said? I almost KILL her twin sister."
"But nothing happened! And also, it was not your fault that she ran away. You tried to help her, so you must be proud. In my opinion, you are afraid that she rejects you, so you are looking for excuses," said Mike folding his arms.
"It's easy for you to tell that, Mick! You have a wonderful girlfriend, and you are living the dream." Said Topher glaring at him.
Mike chuckled and took a deep breath. "You don't know anything, I was terrified, always thinking of excuses. If she found I have Multiple personalities, she will hate me. I must find an explanation of what happened with Anne Maria. I was also looking for excuses to not be together. And in the end, it only worked because I told her. And you know what? she likes oddballs."
"But there is a chance that she doesn't love him back. It's not better to keep the status quo?" said Dramaman in a higher voice than usual.
"Then you just have to accept her decision, but at least you would have told her how you felt. Nothing will change if you just run away," replied Mike, as if was the most natural thing in the world.
Topher nodded, blushing. "You are right. I must tell her. It would not be easy, but I will do my best."
"You are the man Toph. And if you need help, Draman and I are here to help you," said Mike giving a thumb up.
"Are we?" said Dramaman perplexed because suddenly he was involved in this.
The three men cheer and keep talking about themselves and their plans for the future. And of course, how will Topher tell Sammy his feelings.
Confessional: Mike
Mike is rubbing his neck. "I am pretty happy with the team. Sans Cameron, I usually don't make many male friends. Brick was only a few days with the maggots. And Sam was too much into videogames and Boney island in the hamsters. But with Draman and Toph, I really felt some kinship. Maybe cleaning the cabin daily was a better idea than I thought at the beginning."
The next day, Brick wake up as usual, before the sunrise. He changed his sleeping clothes and went outside as silently as he could to start his morning jogging. But in front of the cabin, he found someone waiting for him.
"Buenos días amigo!" said Alejandro. He was stretching, with his hair in a small ponytail, and dressed in black sweatpants and a red tank top.
"Good morning Al!" said Brick in a joyful voice. "How unusual that you wake up so early."
The Spaniard kept stretching while replying. "I am getting a little rusty. And watching you earnestly doing your routine every day was an inspiration. May I join you from today on?"
"Of course, no problem, the more, the merrier." Said Brick blushing, it's the first time he became someone's inspiration. "But, I must warn you is not an easy routine."
Alejandro winked at the cadet. "I like to push my limits. Don't worry if I can't keep your pace, you can go ahead while I take my second breath."
"No way. My code is 'never leave a man behind.' If you get too tired, I can wait with you." said Brick giving Alejandro a light punch on his arm.
"You are a good man, Brick McArthur. But with that kind of attitude, you will not reach too far on this game," said the Spaniard smiling sadly.
Both started jogging, Brick shook his head at Alejandro's remark. "I know, but I will not give up. I prefer to be eliminated than to betray my beliefs again."
"You are unbelievable. But I can relate with a man like you," said Alejandro while jogging at his side.
"You are too kind. Alejandro, I rea- AAAAAAAHH!" but before Brick could end his sentence, he fell into a chasm.
"CUIDADO!" shouted the Spaniard, holding the cadet's hand and pulling him back into the road, falling both into the ground.
"Thanks, you save me there," said Brick, still shaken after almost falling.
"No problem, bromigo. But what is this?" said Alejandro looking at the chasm.
In the middle of the road that Brick used to make his daily routine, there was a huge stone quarry. It was 500m (about 0.3 a mile) deep. Over the quarry were 2 metal bridges, one of red color and the other green.
"How can a quarry appear overnight in a place like this?" said Brick, already on his feet.
"It's easy. It's because this is the place for our next challenge." Both men were startled. Behind them, as if queued, appeared Chris Mclean.
The host winked at them. "Good Morning, boys, now just wait here. While I call the rest of the campers. This will be so much fun."
Brick and Alejandro knew that fun means a dangerous and hard challenge. Now both men had to wait for their team while wondering what the next challenge will be.
