Chapter 24: Happy Birthday!

(Narrator POV)

It's was January 27th; Edgar's birthday. Both Olivia and Edgar had work, but Olivia planned to do something today or over the weekend depending on how the case would resolve. His family would be coming after the kids got out of school and they all got off of work but his parents would be here at around noon since they're retired. Morgan Kevin wouldn't be here to around 6:30ish. It was just gonna be a small intimate get together with his family and a few friends.

In other news Elliot had been contacting her, texting her asking why she hadn't texted him she just blocked him because it was irritating and she has moved on in her life and is finally happy. On the bright side Edgar got his boot off and has lots of bandages on his calf. His nerve is rebuilding but is doing well. He still uses the crutches but is able to walk with them.

At work Olivia was about to roll out to pick up a suspect with Fin. While Kat and Rollins got other people for a line up. When they got to the apartment the door was cracked open, Olivia went in first. "Hey Jayce, is Captain Benson again we just want to talk to you again." The boy wasn't even 18 yet. They heard yelling in the back room. She knocked on the door while Fin stood behind her for backup. "Jayce, honey can you let me in?"

"No! I don't wanna hurt you!" He screamed out. You could tell he was crying.

"Your not gonna hurt me sweetie I promise. You're not gonna do anything you don't want to do. Do you want to hurt me?"

"No, I just- I don't trust myself right now."

"Let me help you. Who else is in the room?" fin whispered in her ear and asked if she wanted back up. She said not yet.

"Jayce, who are you in the room with?"

"Umm... I'm with Brayden!"

"You son of a bitch! I told you not to tell her." She heard struggling Fin kicked the down in. They ran in and Jayce had a gun to Brayden.

"Jayce, What are you doing?"

"Tell her what you did? I can't get put away because of you!"

"I didn't do anything, you're crazy!"

"Hey shut up, kid!" Fin said.

"Jayce, don't do this. I know you didn't do anything but if you shoot him... you will go to jail. So put down."

"I don't wanna go to jail." Jayce cried.

"I know you don't." Olivia said inching closer to him. "So give me the gun honey." He moved the gun to his head. "No, don't do it. You didn't do anything. It was all his fault."

"No it wasn't. If I had been stronger I could have stopped him."

"You can't blame yourself." He was gonna pull the trigger Olivia hurdled over Brayden who was on the floor and pulled the gun down and it went off both Olivia and Jayce fell to the ground. Brayden tried to make a run for it but Fin caught him. He took him down to the police car. The bullet didn't hit anyone. Olivia got control of the gun and slid it as far as possible. "I'm sorry Olivia I didn't want to hurt you, are you okay?"

"I'm fine sweetheart. You didn't hurt me. You just gave me a little scare there. It's okay." He just laid there crying and saying I'm sorry over and over again. Fin called for a uni to pick Liv and Jayce up. Back at the precinct Olivia just got done nailing Brayden down for a rape and Rollins took him to processing. She sat in the investigation room for a minute before returning to her office to do her DD5s when Fin walked in. "What's up Fin?" She said still looking down at her papers. He walked over and sat down.

"You good?"

"Right now I really don't know, Fin"

"What's on your mind?"

"Jayce. He told me and everyone else here so many times that his didn't do this and we pushed him to the point where he was gonna kill himself. He told me from the start he didn't do it."

"And all you did was do your job. You could have never expected that to happen." He walked behind her desk grabbed her bag and coat. "Go home, its my boy's birthday. I'm sure you planned something for him."

"I have to finish these first."

"I got it I saw everything and heard everything you did. I got this. I'll be by later where is it again?"

"His house. I'll send you the address."

"Alright. Well, Captain, I'm gonna say this as nice as possible... get out and have fun."

"Thanks Fin."

"You got it... babygirl." She swiftly turned around.

"I haven't heard that name in almost a decade."

"I know it's weird to say now cause you're not a baby anymore you're just a full grown badass now." She laughed.

"Well thanks I try to be." With that she was gone. She went home, got some clothes for her and Noah, got Noah, and picked Edgar's gift up. Then went to the cake shop and got both of his cakes. She met all three Garland's at the house along with Dianne and Ulrich. "Hello everyone!" Everyone greeted her and Noah. Of course Abby and Noah ran off somewhere upstairs to play. All of decorations were set up thanks to everyone's help. Soon the rest of his family made it, then the squad, and Lisa and Steve. Everybody helped themselves to some food while they waited around for Edgar. It was 7:30 he should have been home an hour ago. Turns out he was just at a bar with a old friend, but no else knew that.

So Olivia thought about what would get him here without giving it away. She bit her lip and sent 'happy birthday sexy! Why don't I come over your house and get you in your birthday suit." She added the winking emoji. She saw that he red her text but no response. Edgar wrapped things up with his friend and went straight home. Olivia turned all the lights off, told everyone to get quiet and proceeded to wait for him outside, if he was even coming. She finally after a few minute saw him pull up in the drive way. He got out ditched his crutches and saw Olson his porch. "I call, I text, I leave voice mails. Nothing on my freaking birthday. Thought you forgot." He grabbed her hips and kissed her. "And happy anniversary." He picked her up and place her legs around his waist.

"You remembered! And someone seems a little excited."

"Well somebody sent me a very seductive text message so I'm just... prepared for these next events." Olivia didn't think about how it would effect Edgar, she was just try to get him here. He was really turned on. He opened the door and people popped from everywhere "SURPRISE!" He let go of Olivia and she hopped down off him. He looked at her and then smiled and said thank you. He walked in more of his house and saw his mom and dad. "Mom, dad, good to see you. Olivia can I speak with you for a second, in private."

She followed him to the doorway of his room.

"Seriously?" He whispered loudly.

"What?" She whispered too.

"You threw a party? And you sent that text!"

"So?"

"You don't understand, that text has put an image in my mind. And until it happens in reality, I will have this issue."

"Well guess what lover boy, you're gonna have to deal with it and get through this party." She walked away and started talk to Kat and Rollins. Edgar went in his room, locked the door to change into more complete clothing. He put on some joggers to kind of disguise his bulge, with a hoodie. When he finally got himself together enough to be seen by other people he went out and acted normal but every time his eyes laid on Olivia's body or even heard her laugh he felt a twitch. He sat on the couch with his dad, Kevin, Fin, Christian, and Steve to watch the basketball game. Olivia wanted to mess with Edgar a little bit so she skipped over to couch and sat next to him. "Are you hungry?" She bit her lips knowing Edgar would react.

"Yeah can you make me some nachos?"

"Sure." She slid her hand over his groin. He knew she was doing this purposefully he felt himself get harder so he sat up with both of his elbows on his knees. She made herself and Edgar a plate. She gave him his plate and moved her way back to where her friends were. Lots of time passed by they played many games and it was time to sing happy birthday. Olivia brought it the cakes. Lit the candles. "Everyone is time to sing happy birthday."

"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Edgar... happy birthday to you!" Everybody clapped. He blew out his candles.

"Thank you guys but today is not only about me, Olivia and I are celebrating our anniversary!" Another Round of applause and awes struck the room.

"Aww stop it is about you." Olivia said. He cut both cakes enough for everyone. He grabbed one piece of chocolate and two pieces of strawberry shortcake. Olivia sat down next to him and started eating some cake.

"I love birthdays I'm glad I've had 43 of them but I'm in a new chapter in my life and I rather celebrate my anniversary that I share with my incredible girlfriend than my birthday."

"You're so sweet." He had a cheeky grin on his face. "What?"

"Nothing just looking at you, there's something different about you."

"Maybe it's just my new glow."

"I don't know, but you look beautiful." He took a bite of the chocolate cake. "Oh my gosh you gotta try this cake." He took a piece off with his spoon and fed her a piece.

"Wow, that is amazing."

"Where did you get this from?"

"I don't remember Kat made the order I just picked it up. I told what kind of cake you like and she bought them too so you need to thank her."

"Alright Edgar were about to leave." Steve said shaking his hand.

"Okay thanks for coming. Good to see you Lisa."

"Good to see you too bye Liv." They hugged and Olivia walked them out to their car.

"Drive safe!" Steve and Lisa leaving only started a trend after that everyone left one by one.

"Hey Olivia? Where is my little guy?"

"He's upstairs. Noah!"

"Coming!" He ran down the stairs. "Yes?"

"Have you talked to Edgar today?"

"No every time I tired someone else would talk to him so I said I would reacted everyone left. Happy birthday Edgar!" He jumped on his lap.

"Thank, Noah! You know you were the person I wanted to see most today? I would have ignored all those people if you came by."

"Really? I didn't want to be rude."

"Yeah of course. You have really good manners. But I'm so happy now that I've seen you. You wanna watch a movie with me?"

"Yeah!" The two really loved each other. Edgar really wanted to be Noah's dad one day, he is just so amazing. And Noah would say the same about Edgar. They both totally forgot Olivia was sitting there. "Oh can we watch Aquaman! I really wanted to see it but mommy doesn't like superhero movies."

"Is that so? Well I love superhero movies so we can watch them together all the time."

"Hello? Does anyone see me sitting here?"

"Yes we both do but is bro time." Edgar gave Noah a fist bump.

"Fine whatever I'm gonna clean up while you guys watch the movie." Olivia started taking down the decorations but sent Edgar a text. 'Everyone has left. Put Noah down to sleep so you can get what you've been waiting for.'

He looked at his phone and held back a laugh. 'No, I'm spending quality time with my little man. And I think I'm gonna tease you like you did to me.' He heard he say "oh my gosh." He sent another text that said, 'you did this to yourself.' She was so wet right now. 45 minutes into the movie Noah started to fall asleep but you could tell he was trying to stay awake. "Noah, buddy? Les get you to sleep." He picked him and walked towards the stairs.

"I'm sorry I tried to stay awake."

"It's okay we can finish tomorrow. And we can have a bro day tomorrow, how about that?" He walked slowly up the stairs it was still a challenge to do.

"That sounds fun. What about mommy?"

"I think mommy has to work so it'll just be me and you."

"Okay. I love you so much Edgar." Edgar laid him on the bed.

"I love you more." He brushes up his curls with his hand and kissed his forehead. He walked back down the stairs and the lights were off and everything was cleaned. He walked into his bedroom, he saw Olivia lying in bed in just her underwear and bra. "Wow. This is the best surprise of the night." That night they made beautiful and passionate love to each other. "That was absolutely incredible." Olivia said panting next to a panting Edgar.

"I know cause I've got the most incredible girlfriend." He hovered over her while kissing her shoulders.

"Yes, you do."

"You wanna go again?"

"As much as I would like too. Unlike some people I have to go to work tomorrow, while you have fun with my kid. So no I gotta get some sleep. I love you though."

"It's okay. I love you too. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."
