When I got back to my room, Angela was already there waiting for me.
"Oh good. You're back. Your mom wants me to help you plan your outfit for tomorrow. I- Bella, what's wrong?" Angela noticed my face.
"I...I met him." I flopped down on the bed, face first.
"Who?"
"Edward."
"Ed-oh." Angela rushed over to sit next to me. "The prince? How the hell did you meet the prince?"
"I didn't know he was the prince! I met him yesterday at the festival. He seemed...normal?"
"Well that's great! Now you won't be marrying a complete stranger!"
"Well, he still doesn't know I'm me," I explained. "I mean, he knows my name and everything but not that I'm the one he's marrying. I only found out about him because we ran into his siblings at the festival."
"You met the king and queen of Evander and the prince and future princess of Oryn?" Angela sounded excited. Royals around here are just about as good as celebrities.
"Yes. Although none of them knew who I was, and I didn't know who they were. I've never actually seen their pictures, except when they were younger."
"Oh, yeah...I can see how that would be embarrassing. How have you never seen what they looked like?"
"Well it's not like they're constantly in the tabloids, since they're not the main ruling counsel or whatever, and I guess I just never bothered to really look."
Angela sighed. "This is what you get for always having your head in a book."
I threw a pillow at her.
"Hey! I'm just saying. So...was he as cute as Jessica said?"
"So not the point!" I quickly changed the subject. "So what am I wearing tomorrow?"
Angela's eyes lit up as she made her way to my closet. At least that was something that could easily distract her.
"Okay, so I was thinking we need something new, since this is your freaking engagement! So...your mom had the girls at the tailor shop in town make a few different options." She went into my closet, coming out with three different dresses.
"What do you think?" Angela laid them down on my bed so I could get a better look.
The first dress was a light yellow, simple, with long sleeves and flared out at the waist, stopping right around the ankles. The second dress was pink, my mom's favorite color. It was a little shorter, stopping right below the knees. There was some lace on the bodice and had slightly puffy sleeves. Definitely a no go.
The third dress, though, was perfect. It was a royal blue and so much more modern looking than the others. It was a bodycon type that stopped a couple inches above my knee.
"This one," I pointed to it.
"Of course," Angela shook her head with a smile. "You have all these different options and you choose the most simple one."
"It's the most me. I don't know why my mom keeps trying to put me in these dresses. I can stomach them if I absolutely have to, but I would much rather be comfortable."
"Well, luckily for you, everyone's going to be super busy the rest of today and tomorrow morning so you should be able to get away with that," Angela assured me. "I have to go back to help with the prep, but you don't have anything scheduled for the rest of tonight so just enjoy your free time!" She told me, putting away the other dresses and leaving my room.
I was filled with nerves all night, and I could barely sleep. I tossed and turned all night, until Angela came knocking on my door the next morning.
"Rise and sh...ine. Rough night?" She looked at me sympathetically. "I mean, not that I blame you. Big day ahead."
"Ughhg," I pulled my comforter over my head.
"Come on. We only have like an hour until they get here, so we have to get you all gussied up."
"Who still says gussied?" I looked at her.
"Oh, shut up," Angela pulled my comforter off and pulled me up. "Come on, this is one of the last times we're going to do this here. There's no guarantee I get to follow you to the new castle and you leave tomorrow ."
"You're right," I got up, looking at her. "As much as I hate getting woken up in the morning, I'll miss this."
Angela gave me a smile. "Same. Now, let's get you into your dress so I can get started on your hair."
Angela styling my hair took practically the entire hour. Luckily for me, she kept the makeup super minimal, only a light lip tint and a little mascara to make my eyes "pop." Her words, not mine.
"There you go! You are all set," Angela handed me a mirror. My hair had been curled slightly but left down. It didn't look that different from normal, so I had no idea what took so long.
"Oh! Just in time too!" Angela looked out my window.
I got up to join her and saw a limo pulling up to the castle. I felt my heart skip a beat as I saw Edward exit out of the limo, although he looked as if he wanted to be anywhere but here. His parents and siblings followed after him as they were all led into the castle.
"Okay, so you're meeting his family first, and then you're meeting Edward separately in the royal room so you guys can get to know each other," she wiggled her brows. "Then you're all getting together for a late lunch early dinner sort of celebration. They're staying the night, and then you're all going to Ruthenia to prepare for the engagement ball," she explained.
I took a deep breath, turning away from the window. "Let's do this," I nodded.
There was a knock on the door and Angela went to open it.
"They're ready for you, Bella," Jessica seemed to be back to her usual self.
"Thanks."
"Wait! Almost forgot," Angela ran into my closet, coming out with a tiara, placing it on my head. "There. Perfect."
"Good luck!" They both told me before I headed out.
