DISCLAIMER:

Welcome, episode 38 is here. What will happen with this season? Can the contestants rescue Chris, Topher, and Sammy? Or will the season end with Dave getting the million dollars? And who is the mysterious master?

Find out here on Total Drama Tyranny of the Masses.

And if you enjoy the story, don't forget to mark it as a favorite. Or if you feel fancy, please leave a review. I love to listen to your thoughts and also help me to improve the story. Now before getting started let me reply to last week's reviews.

heyimrat: I'm happy you enjoy the moment.

beanoamy: The "challenge" will be hard, and as you say, the chapter raised a lot of questions about Dramaman. Maybe some will be answered here ;)

gman5846: You're right, it really give Zeek, and you shall find vibes.

Guest: Zeke? Mmmm, it's a good guess. I wonder if you are right.

harmony735: Glad you enjoyed it, I hope this is as good as the other.

ebolaGaveMeHIV: Mmm, probably, but I felt that Zoey falling with an Immunity idol was a better way for her to leave the show. I just hope the remaining 4 Dam eliminations don't feel too unfair.

Aleheather4ever: I'm glad you're enjoying the interactions. Right now, both Courtney and Heather need to make a decision, even if both know the other is hiding something. I personally like Heather and Courtney friendship, but I don't know if that will happen in this story.

Anonymous: Yes, it seems that Topher and Sammy are together. The question is, as you say, if they will end together and how this will affect Topher's plans.

And as always, a TITANIC shoutout and THANKS to Geofics, who helps me proofread the episodes. I know it's in all chapters but it's the less I can do. Thanks a lot.

Zeeking Revenge Part 2

In the last episode of Total Drama, Tyranny of the masses. A mysterious person kidnapped Chris, Topher, and Sammy, and will only return them in exchange for the prize money. Chef and the producers had 24 hours to decide if they'll fulfill the kidnappers' demands or not.

But that isn't all. Working for this person is a bitter Dave who seems to want revenge against Shawn and Sky. He and his master also have a group of giant mutated Gophers under their control. If they fulfill their ambition, the season will be canceled.

The remaining campers (each for their own reasons) decided to go into the island's depths to look for the hostages. Can they save them? And who is the mysterious master behind Dave? Find out next in Total Drama Tyranny of the masses.

The eleven contestants were walking to a cave in the back of the forest. Inside was the entrance to the island's underground caverns where Topher and Sammy were taken. (Oh and also Chris, but none of the campers was worried about him.)

Walking in the group's front were Amy, Lilly, Sky, Alejandro, Brick, Shawn, and Dramaman, and some steps behind the rest.

"It's weird. I'm sure I checked that cavern and it was a dead end. There were no tunnels or pits," said Sky touching her chin while walking.

Amy rolled her eyes, "It seems you didn't search through enough."

The Cree girl glared at her but Shawn talked before she could reply. "I also looked into the cave and there was nothing. But the place was particularly big and empty. Maybe there was some kind of secret passage."

"A secret passage? Sound absurd but knowing there are giant furless gophers I guess anything is possible," said Alejandro shrugging.

"Anyway, why giant Gophers? Aren't those monsters from Wawanakwa or something?" Asked Amy in a disdainful tone.

Lilly answered in an excited tone, a little louder than her usual (but not much). "Yes, they were mutated by the toxic wastes in Wawanakwa Island when Chris made the island an illegal toxic waste dump."

"I remember them. We'd to confront those critters back in our season," said Brick rubbing his neck. "I wonder how it's possible they're here in Pahkitew island?"

"Maybe they swam all the way from Wawanakwa?" said the treehugger tilting her head.

Amy scoffed, "Don't be stupid, Lilly. All the way from Ontario to the west coast? Even for gigantic monstrous gophers that's impossible."

"Don't be naïve," replied Shawn smirking. "It's obvious they didn't come alone. Someone brought them. And that person is probably Dave's master."

Amy and Alejandro rolled their eyes while Sky, Brick, and Lilly looked at him with wide eyes.

"I'm sure I'll regret asking this," said Dramaman trying to not sound annoyed. "And who is this master?"

"Probably some kind of military corporation that is testing them as weapons," replied Shawn, closing his eyes with a thoughtful expression.

Alejandro blinked a couple of times, confused. "Why would a military guy want to train giant gophers? And why test them on a reality show?"

"I don't know so much about it. I guess we'll have to find later, partner," said Shawn patting the Spaniard arm.

Alejandro just nodded. It seemed that Shawn was as eccentric as he thought, which reduced his value as a potential ally. A shame because the sixth season winner seemed quite competent, but his peculiarities made him unpredictable.

Behind them, Heather, Mike, Courtney, and Duncan were following the group.

"Are you ok?" asked Courtney looking worried at Mike.

The thin guy rubbed his arm, making a small smile. "Yes I'm fine. Thanks for your concern. Also, thanks for being there for Zoey yesterday. I didn't know you were friends."

"I'm not sure if you can say we're friends. But Zoey's definitely someone I would like to befriend in the future," replied Courtney, blushing.

"There you go again," said Heather, rolling her eyes. "Why is it so hard for you to accept other people's friendship? If she's your friend, just say so."

Duncan smirked, "says Heather, the friendship expert."

"Shut up, you criminal. I'm talking with Court," retorted Heather glaring at the delinquent.

"Can't you at least try to get along until we save Sammy? It'll be hard enough dealing with those oversized gophers to also have to deal with you two," said Courtney glaring at her teammates.

The Queen Bee rolled her eyes and pointed at Duncan, "I'll try as long as that creep keeps his distance."

"I'll be on my best behavior," replied Duncan in a mocking tone, putting a hand over his chest.

Courtney sighed while Mike chuckled.

"By the way, thanks for helping us," said Mike, making a wide smile. "I was sure only Brick will join us. I mean being the one closer to Sammy and Toph."

"What is the surprise? Samantha is also our friend and teammate," replied Heather narrowing her eyes at the former multiple Mike.

"Yes, it's not as if you waited to see who was going down before deciding to come to rescue the twin. You're so selfless," added Duncan in a snarky tone.

Heather tossed her braid at him, "Do you have a problem with me, smartass? Because I'm tired of your attacks."

"Of course not, Heather." lied Duncan, smirking again, "I was just trying to lighten the mood." He then looked at Courtney.

The delinquent knew that neither Courtney nor Heather came just to save Sammy. Maybe it was along with her plans, but he knew both had another reason besides saving the hostages. As for him, he just came to make sure Princess is ok. After all, those damn bald gophers seemed like bad news.

Mike smiled nervously and tried to change the topic to defuse the situation, "Anyway, during the Revenge season we met a lot of these creatures in a challenge. The giant Gophers are almost blind but can detect you by smell. They're week against sudden light or bad smells."

"I remember hearing about that," said Courtney with a thoughtful expression, "that time they were manipulated by Ezekiel, weren't they?"

Mike, Duncan, and Heather's eyes went wide. What was the chance that the former homeschooled boy was behind this?

There was a moment of silence. "Whatever, we'll find sooner or later. There is no use in getting worried now," Duncan said, shrugging.

The other three nodded. The cave was already visible just outside the forest.

Confessional: Mike

The thin guy was with a fist under his chin and with a thoughtful expression. " I know it's wrong. But I'm kind of relieved that this happened. At least I can get distracted after what happened to Zoey. I know what I said to my friends but I really miss her. I just hope I can keep it together until I win the competition. Zoey, my heart, if you're watching this rest reassured because I'll do my best."

The rescue team arrived at the cave. Like Sky said it was a huge cavern in the middle of the mountains but no animal lived there. The eleven contestants entered and began to look for the underground entry. But just as Sky told them, there was nothing inside the cave.

"I can't believe that moronic Chef gave us a fake map," protested Amy throwing the map against the wall.

Brick jumped and grabbed it in a swift moment before it hit the wall. "Amy, we can't give up yet. Let's analyze the map one more time. Maybe we overlooked something."

"I don't think so," said Shawn scowling at Brick, "I have been in this cave multiple times. There is nothing here. Except if you have classified information. Mr. I-am-with-the-army."

"Can you stop with your silly accusations, Shawn? We don't have time for that," rebuked Amy narrowing her eyes at him.

Shawn glared back at her. "I think he can defend himself, Sammy's sister. Except if he can't do it because he is hiding something."

"CAN YOU STOP!?" shouted Sky, stomping her foot in the ground, "we don't have time to be fighting among us."

There was an awkward silence in the cave. Even if the arguing stopped they still need to find the entrance to the underground.

"I found it," said Dramaman in his deep voice.

Everyone in the cave looked at him, some smiling and others with wide eyes.

"Well done, Draman!" exclaimed Mike enthusiastically, "show us where it is."

The masked man nodded and walked to the bottom of the cave. There they found, hid by a big rock, a deep pit like the ones used by miners.

"It's like going back all the way to the Revenge season. Eh, Mike?" said Brick trying to hide his fear to go down into the darkness.

Mike nodded seriously. "Just as the good old times. I wish Cam and Zoey were here," he then cracked his neck. "I will go down first."

"Forget it, noodle arms, I'll go first," Duncan interrupted Mike. "I'm better at climbing," he then grabbed a rope that was connected to a pole over the pit and tied in a swift movement around his waist. "Also, Red will not forgive me if you get hurt under my watch."

"Good Luck cadet and please be careful," said Brick saluting him. Being the only one who spoke to the delinquent.

Courtney stood there hesitating. She and Duncan were on better terms now, right? Then why she couldn't tell him good luck or at least take care. She knew the answer. It was that question she still held in her heart. If she wanted to trust him, she needed to found the courage to ask him.

The delinquent climbed down the rope ignoring the drama inside the mind of the Latin girl. All the eyes fixed on him except Shawn's that were fixed on someone else.

After some seconds, they could hear a voice from the bottom of the pit. "The coast is clear. Only be careful with the last step."

Mike nodded and jumped into the pit. Then the other contestants began to go down one after another until only Dramaman and Shawn remained.

"You can fool the others but you can't fool me," said Shawn in an angry tone. "I check this cave at least 5 times and this pit wasn't here. Man, I trust you because you give me that immunity idol but you need to explain what is the meaning of this."

Dramaman scratched his head. "Sammy and Topher are down there. I'll explain later. There is no time."

"NO! I can't trust you if you don't tell me now. My friend is down there acting like a madman and we'll probably risk our life against those gophers. I need at least to know you'll not stab us in the back," yelled Shawn grabbing Dramaman by the shoulders, glaring at him with cold eyes.

"I'm sorry Shawn," said the masked man scratching the back of his mask, "I'll tell you everything then."

The wrestler knew it was over for him, and Chris will kill him, but he didn't care anymore.

There was a bad smell, like stagnant water. And it was dark. The place seemed to be illuminated by an old lightbulb. Sammy's head hurt a lot. Her hair and her uniform were dirty with mud. She was dizzy and a little nauseated, lying on the stone floor. Her head was resting over someone's legs.

"I'm so happy you wake up. Are you ok?" asked Topher, his sweater dirty and his hair a little disheveled.

Sammy jumped like a spring, blushing. "Yes, yes, I'm ok. Where are we?"

She looked around and they seemed to be in some kind of jail with bars made of wood. There were no beds nor windows."

"You're in a mess," said in a mocking tone a man inside the cell in front of theirs.

The younger twin blinked a couple of times, shocked, "Chris Mclean?"

"The one and only," said the Host, winking. He was sitting in the side of his cell with the back resting against the wall. He was dressed in the same clothes he wore 2 days ago but dirtied with mud and dust, his hair somehow was in perfect shape.

"It seems he was captured after the elimination ceremony of the foxes," explained Topher while glaring at the Host.

"HEY, don't spoil her! I was about to tell her the story about how I was captured," protested Chris glaring back at him.

The former Chris' fan rolled his eyes. "Again? The story about how you fight one on one against 10 armed men that kidnap you? C'mon that story is worse than your talking cat's movies."

"Those movies are awesome! You're just too young to understand them," replied Chris shaking his head with a disappointed expression.

"Anyway, what is happening? It's this some kind of challenge?" asked Sammy in a distressed tone.

Chris made a wide grin, "That's a wonderful way of think about this. Let's make this a challenge. Rescue me and your team gets immunity for the next elimination." Said the host winking.

"Chris, We're on different teams," replied Topher narrowing his eyes at him.

"Oh!?" Chris went closer to his cell's bars, taking a better look at the twin. "Sorry I still mix Meany with Lamey," said Chris laughing at his own joke. "Anyway, the first of you to rescue me win immunity. So start working. We're almost out of time."

Topher and Sammy looked at each other and then at Chris. "Are you joking? How are we supposed to free you?

The host shrugged, "I don't have any idea. That is part of the challenge."

"Are you really treating this as a challenge?" asked the host wannabe looking at him with wide eyes.

"Of course. Now start working," replied Chris looking nervously at the aisle between the cells.

"How can you be so irresponsible?" replied Topher shaking his head, "you're the adult. You're the one that should be working in saving us. I don't know how I could admire you."

Chris chuckled, "that is your problem, Topher, and that's why you can't take my job even if you could call the producers. You lack willpower, tenacity, guts. Someone like you'll never succeed in the show biz."

There was a small silence between them, Topher looking down at the ground with a pained expression.

"Take back what you said!" shouted Sammy, "Topher has been doing his best to manage the team, even if we're divided between my sister and me. He's always working hard in the challenges and is the first to offer advice even if he's also afraid. Yes, he's sometimes a little vain, but also kind. Don't dare to call him a coward when he's doing his best."

Both the Host and the host wannabe looked at her with wide eyes. Sammy was red due to her anger and didn't realize what just happened.

Chris rubbed his neck, "There is no need to get angry. We're just stressed about the whole situation. Sorry, my boy, I said a little too much."

Topher was speechless, but before he could talk someone entered the room.

The man wasn't taller than Sammy and walked hunched. He was wearing an old green hoodie and ripped jeans and was almost bald with only a few long strands of brown hairs here and there.

But Topher and Sammy ignored all these details. Their wide eyes fixed in the face of the visitor. He was green-skinned like a corpse, with fanged teeth, red eyes, and the point of his ears gnawed.

"Ezekiel!?" said Topher under his breath.

The former homeschooled boy ignored the contestants and opened the other cell.

Chris went back to the bottom of the cell, "STAY AWAY! Don't dare to put a claw over me."

But Ezekiel ignored his pleads, grabbing Chris's by the leg and dragging him out of the cell.

"NO! STOP! HELP ME! TOPHER, SAMEY! DO SOMETHING! DON'T LET HIM TAKE ME AWAY," Chris begged to the contestants.

Topher stood up and charged their cell's door. The wooden bars made some sound and tremble but didn't break. Sammy covered her mouth, looking at Chris being dragged away.

"What will happen to Chris?" asked Sammy in a cracked voice.

Topher rubbed his shoulder, "I don't know, but I'm sure we don't want to find out. Let's focus on escaping before they remember we are here."

Confessional: Topher

The host wannabe was with the clothes dirty as in the cell, but with his hair groomed. He turned his better angle to the camera. "I was completely surprised when I saw Ezekiel. Watching him on TV is completely different from seeing him face to face. Sorry Chris but at that moment, I could only think about how to take Sammy out of there."

On the other side, the rest of the contestants were climbing down into the underground. The rope didn't reach the ground so they have to jump the last few feet.

Only Lilly, Shawn, and Dramaman were still climbing down the rope.

"LILLY, HURRY UP," shouted Amy glaring at the tree hugger.

Lilly was slowly sliding through the rope. "I'm going as fast as I can," replied the redhead, in a low tone.

The older twin couldn't hear her words but she understood the message. "Mike can you come for a second and help me?"

The thin guy nodded and walked next to the rope. Amy smiled and began to wave the rope fiercely.

"NO! WAIT! IF YOU DO THAT I WILL FALL," shouted Lilly, that in less than a second let go of the rope and fell into the pit.

With cat-like reflexes Mike jumped and caught the tree hugger.

"Hey! That was dangerous! What if Mike couldn't catch her?" asked Sky glaring at the older twin.

Amy rolled her eyes. "Don't be stupid. I trust Mike completely. He wouldn't fail."

"Anyway try to discuss your plans beforehand with the rest of us, so there are no misunderstandings," said Courtney also narrowing her eyes at the twin.

"*sigh* yes, as you wish. Let's waste more time. It's not like we're in a hurry," replied Amy in a snarky tone.

"Draman! Shawn! Hurry up!" shouted Mike. There was no response from them.

Alejandro tilted his head, "Did something happened to them?"

But before anyone could answer Shawn descended the rope very quickly and fell next to them. He stood at the end of the rope and, after a moment, caught Dramaman that descend so quickly that he didn't realize the rope was too short.

"We're here," replied Shawn in a neutral tone.

"Great, let's go. The sooner we find them the sooner we get out of here," said Heather pointing at the only way with her flashlight.

All of them start to walk. The road began to descend more and more into the underground and the only light was the one emitted by the flashlights.

"Why did you take so long to get down here. Did something happened?" Sky asked Shawn, tilting her head.

Shawn made a small smile. "It's better if you ask Dramaman. It's not something I should tell you."

Before Sky could say something they reached a fork in the way.

"It'll be better if we split up. It's the most efficient way to look for them," said Courtney after examining the situation.

Amy looked at her with wide eyes. "Are you crazy? It's not dividing up the great big no in horror movies?"

"Yes but this isn't a movie. And if we go together we may get lost before we can find your sister," replied Courtney. If her hunch was right this was the best course of action.

"Don't be so harsh with the cheerleader, Courtney. It's obvious she's afraid of splitting up," said Duncan, smirking.

The older twin raised an eyebrow, "You said I'm afraid? You're stupider than you look grass-hair. Lilly, Mike, we are going the right path."

Amy began to walk, with Mike following her and Lilly going slowly behind them.

"Amy, wait, you need at least 5 people," shouted Brick going behind them.

Alejandro looked at his teammates for a moment and then run behind Brick, "I'll go with them. Good luck."

Courtney then faced Sky, Shawn, and Dramaman. "It seems it's you, Duncan, Heather, and me. Let's take the left path."

The three ferrets nodded and all went to the left path.

"There is something you must know," said Sky as they walked down the road. "The bald guy that we met at the cabins. He's Dave a friend of ours. If we meet him please let us try to talk."

Duncan looked at her, frowning, "The crazy guy in the gopher? He didn't seem like he wanted to talk."

"He isn't crazy!" protested Sky, "He was in the last season with us and somehow he had lived on the island since then."

"That's impossible," replied Courtney, gazing at her with wide eyes, "even if he was left here, Chris could be sued for kidnapping if he didn't bring him back."

Heather chuckled, "except if he signed a contract to work for the show. That is how he kept Alejandro on that damn robot for a year."

"He would never sign a contract to work here. He hated this show," replied Sky shocked by the possibility.

"Don't be so sure. Dave was completely enraged after hearing about Keith. He may have signed if he thought that would give him a chance to take revenge," said Dramaman in his deep voice.

The Cree girl glared at the masked man but she couldn't find the words to reply. Was Dave still mad about that? Did he still want to get revenge against her?

"There is only one way to find out what's the truth behind that Dave," said Shawn hitting his hand with his fist, "and it's finding and capturing him. He has a lot to answer."

All the presents nodded. There was no use in arguing about that. They kept going down the road in silence. Some hoped to find Dave and others wished to find the hostages instead.

On the other side, Amy's group was going along a narrow passage. The roof was so low that it almost hit Mike's head.

"I'm glad that stupid giant isn't here. She would be frozen in fear," said the older twin in a mocking tone.

Brick frowned, "Amy you shouldn't laugh at other people's fears even as a joke."

"Ehm, Oh, sorry Brick, don't take it so seriously," replied Amy waving her hand.

Lilly looked at her friend with wide eyes. Did she just apologize?

"Anyway, I can't blame your amiga. These narrow passages are a little scary even if you aren't claustrophobic," said Alejandro in a worried tone.

"Yes, mate, these passages aren't only scary but they're also dangerous," Mike, raised his helmet a little to illuminate upward. "Just look at the ceiling. It's made of rock and a lot of mud. It can cave in if we aren't careful."

Brick and Lilly gulped while Amy and Alejandro continued unfazed. Each of them had their own reasons.

As they went on the passage began to become narrower and narrower. At first Mike and Alejandro needed to bent a little, then all needed to bent to don't hit the ceiling, and finally all needed to crawl to keep going.

"Are we sure this road will take us to the hostages?" asked Alejandro in a distressed tone. "I'll hate to just keep going to find a dead end."

"I'm afraid we have already going too far to go back now," answered Mike sighing. "So let's hope for the best."

Amy scoffed, "Damn Samey, because she can't be kidnapped in a broader and cleaner place. My knees are hurting and I have mud all over my clothes."

"I don't think she has any saying about where the gophers would take her," said Brick in a worried tone.

"You would be surprised, Brick. Don't underestimate her and her talent to get into troublEEEEEEHHHhhh…" shouted Amy before she and her flashlight disappeared.

"AMY!" shouted Brick and Lilly, that were the ones closer to the front.

"Don't scream! Or do you want to provoke a cave-in?" said Alejandro in a stern tone.

Lilly began to sob, "But, Amy… Amy … disappeared"

"What?" asked Mike. "Lilly, please, calm down and tell us what happened to Amy."

Brick lightened the tunnel with his flashlight and saw a hole on the ground.

The cadet took a depth breath. "Probably the ground collapsed under her. There is a hole just in front of me," he gulped, "I'm going in."

"Wait, it can be dangerous!" said Alejandro in a worried tone. But with Lilly in front of him there was no way for the Spaniard to stop him.

"But Amy can be hurt at the bottom. Someone had to go and check her," the cadet avoided the hole and put his feet first inside it. "If everything is ok, I'll call you from down there."

Brick didn't wait for their reply. He went inside the tunnel. Thanks to the mud, the place was like a slide. He slowed down the fall with his legs and tried to lighten the place with his flashlight to ease his fear of the darkness until he went out.

He fell loudly on the ground and winced at the pain. The place was a broader passage with a river and next to him was Amy.

The blond twin flashlight was broken and she was unconscious. Brick check her and fortunately she didn't have any serious wounds.

"It's ok, only be careful at the exit," shouted Brick at the tunnel.

In a moment, Lilly, Alejandro, and Mike arrived at the chamber. Brick caught them at the exit, so no one hit the ground.

"And now which way should we take?" asked Mike after looking at the subterranean river.

Alejandro put a hand in the water. "We go upstream. There is a chance that downstream it's an exit."

All agree on following Alejandro's idea. Mike walked in the front, followed by Lilly. Brick picked up Amy and carried her on his back.

"If you want. I can carry your friend," said Alejandro looking concerned at the cadet.

"Don't worry, I'm fine," replied Brick, smiling. "But I'll be grateful if you can illuminate my path. I can't use my flashlight while carrying her.

Alejandro nodded and the group began to go upstream.

Courtney's group was walking in a big subterranean chamber. The road was still going down into the earth. The six contestants rarely talked after Sky asked them to let them talk with Dave.

"I'm the only one that finds this weird?" said Courtney in an annoyed tone.

Heather scoffed, "What are you talking about? The Mutant Gophers? The crazy guy living on the island for six months? There is a lot of weird things. You need to be more specific."

"I mean these tunnels and caves," said Courtney illuminating around them with the flashlight. "Why are they here? This is an artificial island, isn't it?"

"Maybe this was created by the reptilians?" said Shawn, rubbing his chin. "There is a chance that Chris is working with them and the government and together they created the island!"

Dramaman cleared his throat, "Ehem, It's not more probable that they built the artificial island over an already existing one?"

"Umh, that sounds reasonable," replied Courtney absentmindedly. If the masked man was right, then her theory was more than plausible.

After a while the group arrived at a point where the road forked in many caves. There were at least 3 ways, without taking into account the smaller caves. But they have to climb the wall to access some of them.

"Perfect just perfect. Which cave are we supposed to take?" asked Heather in an annoyed tone.

"None! If you were smart, you would have abandoned the island," someone shouted from the uppermost cave.

"DAVE!" yelled Sky looking at him with a sad frown on her face. "We're here to talk. Please hear what I have to say."

The bald guy scowled at them with contempt. "There's nothing to talk Sky. We want the million. And now that you're down here you'll also become our hostages."

As he spoke, giant gophers began to come out of the ground. There were three of the blind creatures who with great speed advanced to capture Courtney, Sky, and Dramaman.

The first gopher went over Sky. The athlete graciously avoided it but after making a pair of cartwheels she began to felt a slight pain in the base of her back.

"Dave stop them! We only want to talk!" shouted the gymnast while trying to avoid the gopher.

The bald man chuckled. "Sorry Sky it's more entertaining looking at you trying to avoid our pet."

The Cree girl glared at him and avoided the gopher's charge.

Meanwhile Dramaman was busy with his own gopher. He was holding it by the neck with all his strength so he couldn't help the others. "SHAWN! Please help Sky."

The Conspiranoic nodded and thrown a small vial against the head of the gopher that was trying to catch Sky. The vial broke and splashed the head of the gopher that began to run wildly around the room screeching in pain.

Sky covered her nose, nauseated. "Ugh! What is that smell?"

"It's my special mix. After Mike asked me if zombies could smell I realized that I may need to cover my scent. I made that special mix to make you smell like a putrid corpse," replied Shawn smiling proudly.

"Disgusting!" shouted Heather covering her nose, "but I hope you have a lot more of those, Zombie freak."

"Zombie freak!?" asked Shawn. He wasn't sure if the Queen Bee was insulting him or not.

As this happened Courtney was struggling with the third gopher. She held his head away from her and kicked it, but to no avail.

"Hello!? A little help here!" she shouted. The Latin girl was unsure if the mutated creature wanted to capture her or eat her and didn't want to find out.

Duncan put his hand in his pocket and felt his knife. After a split-second decision he took a big rock and ran toward her.

The delinquent hit the gopher as hard as he could in the head, breaking the rock. The poor creature fell to the ground, unconscious.

Courtney stood there, wanting to thank him, but somehow she just couldn't say the words.

"You're welcome," said Duncan smirking.

But Sky's gopher was still running frenzied and slammed its head against the wall. The rocks from the upper part of the cave falling over the contestants.

"LOOK OUT!" shouted Courtney jumping over Duncan and pushing him out of the rocks' way.

"COURTNEY!" Heather blanched as the rocks felt over the gophers, Duncan and the former CIT.

On the cell Sammy was still looking into the aisle. After Ezekiel took Chris they tried to escape, but it didn't work. Topher began to walk around the cell looking for a way out.

The younger twin held one of the wood bars and shook it. It trembled a lot but it was too hard to knock it down. She then began to pull each bar individually.

Topher meanwhile was examining the walls but it was solid rock. There was no way to escape from the cell.

"Do you really want to rescue him?" asked the host wannabe pushing the wall.

"Of course," replied Sammy looking at him with wide eyes. "He can be a jerk but we can't abandon him. The other guy can kill him or eat him or worse."

Topher shook his head. "The other guy is Ezekiel. He's a former contestant. I doubt he'll hurt Chris, at least permanently."

"He looks completely different than on TV. Are you sure it's him?" asked Sammy while pulling a bar.

"Yes, it must be him or there are more mutants with the same fashion sense," laughed Topher trying to lighten up the mood.

The younger twin frowned. "I'm not sure this is the moment for jokes." She pulled another bar and hear a strong crack coming from the wooden piece. "Topher, come quickly. I think I find a way to escape the cell."

The host wannabe ran and examined the same bar. "It's cracked! Maybe we can break it."

Both began to pull the wooden bar together. The structure began to move and crack until it gave away, breaking apart, making both fell to the ground.

"Ouch! Are you ok?" asked Topher, Sammy falling over him.

The younger twin blushed. This was the closest she had been to him. She felt his breathing on her neck and his heartbeats on her back. If he hugged her she could stay like that forever.

"Sammy? Did you hear me? Can you move?" asked the host wannabe.

In a moment she jumped from over him, still red as a tomato. Topher was also blushing after being so close to her.

"Look! Maybe we can pass through the gap between the bars," said Sammy trying to break the awkward silence.

Topher stood up and nodded. "You're right. Let's go."

Without that bar, the bars' gap was big enough for Sammy who passed with some problems. Once outside she looked at Topher, frowning worriedly.

"I think it isn't wide enough for you," said Sammy, her voice cracking.

And as they feared, the gap was too small for the host wannabe. His chest and head were too big. After some agonizing minutes it was evident that he would never fit.

"He, just my luck," said Topher rubbing his neck.

The younger twin began to push the nearby bars, "Don't give up! Maybe we can break another bar."

But it was in vain. The rest of the wooden bars didn't budge.

"Sammy listen to me. You have to escape," said Topher holding Sammy's hand and looking at her eyes.

The twin's eyes began to fill with tears. "But I can't run away and leave you here."

"You aren't running away. You're looking for help," said the host wannabe, trying to reassure her. "Now go before someone comes."

The twin nodded and began to run in the direction that Ezekiel took Chris. There were many stairs and passages. She took a deep breath and took the rightmost passage, trying to memorize the place.

In the next room, she found a table, and over it some mechanical pieces that looked like car parts. But most importantly there were also a lot of different keys.

It was a bad idea. It's basically telling their captors that they had escaped. The smart move was just kept going out and look for help.

Topher was still in his cell. He hoped that at least Sammy could escape from the subterranean prison. The memory of Sammy's scent engraved in his mind made him smile. Even if he ended as Gopher food, knowing that Sammy could escape was enough for him.

He then heard someone running through the aisle and couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"Sammy? Why?" asked Topher flabbergasted.

The younger twin was smiling and carrying at least 20 different keys.

"Sorry Topher, I couldn't leave you here after all," she then began to try the keys on the cell.

The host wannabe shook his head slowly, "Thanks Sammy."

And after 7 keys they found the correct one. Now they just had to escape before their captors realized that they weren't there.

Little Amy was sitting in a sandbox in the park playing alone. She was sobbing while building a castle. She never felt like this before. There was a void in her chest. Then she heard another person sobbing.

After that moment, Amy hid her sadness under a mask of arrogance and anger but the sadness remained.

When the older twin woke up a tear was running down her cheek. She felt like floating and her head hurt a little. Then Amy realized she was being carried by Brick.

"Are you awake?" asked Brick after feeling her moving on his back.

"Y-Yes, of course! Let me down!" shouted the older twin, blushing.

Brick let her get down. "Are you ok? If you want I can keep carrying you until you feel better."

"NO! I can walk by myself," replied Amy flustered, and added in a lower voice, "thanks."

"Don't worry ma'am. I'm glad to be of use," said the cadet saluting.

"If you're done, can we keep going? I think Mike and Lilly didn't notice we stopped," said Alejandro making an impish smile at the couple.

"Of course we're done, let's go," Amy start walking faster. "Anyway, where are we? Is that a river?"

Brick walked faster to not lose her, "Yes, it seems like we found some kind of underground passage and we hope it will take us to your sister and her captors."

"Are you sure? Aren't we just going deeper into the mountain?" asked Amy raising an eyebrow.

"Don't be so negative, señorita. We needed to make a decision and this was the best one," explained Alejandro while illuminating the way.

Then they found Mike and Lilly. They stood in the middle of the road looking at a wall.

"Mike, what happened? Did you found something?" asked Brick as the trio walked closer to them.

"Yes, look down there," Mike pointed a big hole in the ground, "I think a gopher made it."

The group then began to feel the ground shake.

"Mike, mi amigo, I think you're right. A gopher did it and now they're here." Said Alejandro, standing in front of Amy and Brick to protect them.

"Don't worry. I got this," shouted Brick crouching.

Suddenly, in front of Mike and Alejandro came out a pair of giant gophers screeching and trying to grab them. Alejandro lost his flashlight in the struggle while Mike needed all his strength to hold one at bay.

"I can't believe this beast is attacking someone as handsome as me. Animals usually love me," said Alejandro holding the gopher way with both arms.

Amy rolled her eyes while cowering behind Brick. "They're blind stupid. They can't see your handsome face."

"That makes sense," replied the Spaniard frowning at Amy's comment.

"Brick… ugh I… need your help," Mike held the gopher head with both arms while the animal tried to claw his arms.

The cadet stood up with a big smile on his face. "Don't worry, I have my secret weapon."

In a quick movement, Brick ran toward Alejandro's gopher and put his boot on its face. The gopher screeched and began to run away. Then he did the same with Mike's gopher, which ran in the other direction. Brick chasing it.

"Que demonios es ese olor[1]?" asked Alejandro, pinching his nose.

Mike began to run behind the cadet. "It's Brick's boots! giant gophers hate it. We're now safe."

Amy, Lilly, and Alejandro ran behind them, continuing their way upstream following the scared monster.

"He seems kind of heroic like that, no?" said Amy absentmindedly.

Lilly looked at her and smiled. There were moments when not saying anything was the best answer.

Heather and Shawn began to dig the rocks, trying to help Courtney and Duncan. While Sky and Dramaman were climbing the cave wall to face Dave.

"DAMN YOU! You want to ruin our plans!? Don't make me laugh," exclaimed Dave glaring at them.

Sky sighed, "Can you stop that! Why are you doing this?"

"You'll never understand Sky. You're only interested in yourself. A selfish witch that would do anything for money," said Dave, spitting venom in every word.

"That's not true! Just hear me for a moment!" replied the Cree girl frowning angry, her eyes full of tears.

Dave ran inside the cave, "I don't need to hear you. I'll have my revenge next time."

Sky was the first to arrive at the cave, Dramaman coming a little later. But he was shocked to find Sky alone in the small cave.

"He isn't here," said Sky in a distressed tone. She was touching the walls trying to find how Dave disappeared.

"He's playing with us," Dramaman shook his head, hiding his hands in his pockets. "But he's wrong. You never used him."

She looked at the wrestler with tears in her eyes. "Do you believe me?"

"Of course, and I'm sure Dave also knows it. Stop tormenting yourself. I'm sure that if you did something wrong Dave already forgave you," said Dramaman, his face fixed on the cavern wall.

"If that's true why is he avoiding us? And saying those harsh things?" asked Sky, calmer after hearing the wrestler.

"That is what we need to find out," replied the wrestler. "I'll look a little more in the cave. You go with the others. Tell Shawn that I'll be searching for Dave."

The Cree girl tilted her head. "I'll go back, but if you find some clue call us. Don't go alone, ok?"

She began to climb down the cave to join Shawn and Heather. Dramaman took a remote from his pants and walked toward the wall.

Below, Heather and Shawn were frantically digging.

"COURTNEY! DUNCAN! CAN YOU HEAR ME!?" shouted Shawn while digging.

"ARE YOU OK? Damn it," exclaimed Heather, her fingers hurt after moving some rocks.

But then they heard Duncan's muffled voice, "Yes! Courtney and I are ok."

"There are a lot of rocks. It would take hours to take you out," shouted Heather, Shawn smiling and trying to dig quicker.

"Don't worry. There is another way here. We'll follow it. You follow another path," shouted Courtney.

Heather hated to leave her alone with Duncan but it was the best course of action. "Ok, see you after rescuing Sammy and Topher."

Just then, Sky went down the cave. "Are they ok?" she asked in a worried tone.

"Yes, they found another passage. It was only a close call," replied Shawn giving thumbs up. "Where is Dramaman?"

Sky folded her arms, "He's searching for Dave who disappeared in that cave."

"Then we need to find our way too," replied Shawn picking his lantern and walking to one of the nearby caves.

The Cree girl followed him. "Hey! what are you doing? We need to wait for Dramaman."

"If he said he was looking for Dave that means to leave him alone. Don't worry he'll be ok," said the conspiranoic following the path to the biggest cave.

"But why is he going alone?" replied Sky, not grasping the situation.

Shawn sighed. "I'll explain later just trust me."

He walked faster with Sky just behind him frowning.

"HEY! Don't leave me alone," shouted Heather running behind them.

Inside the upper cave Dave was walking to look for a new point to ambush the contestants when he heard a door opening behind him.

"Impossible. How did you open that?" asked the bald guy, frowning angrily.

Dramaman entered from the secret door, facing him. "I also have a master key."

"You're a producers' puppet!" spat Dave glaring at him.

"Call me whatever you like. But there is something I want to ask you," replied the wrestler. It was the moment to find out the truth behind this.

Duncan and Courtney were walking in darkness on the collapsed cave. Both lost their flashlights in the landslide.

"I owe you my life princess, thank you," said Duncan walking behind her.

"Don't mention it. Let's focus on trying to find the exit. In this darkness the place is more dangerous." replied Courtney, walking slowly near the wall.

Then the room was illuminated. Courtney looked at Duncan who was smirking with his lighter on in hand.

But the former C.I.T turn it off in a quick movement. "Are you crazy? what if there is a flammable gas down here."

"Do you prefer to go in total darkness?" asked the delinquent.

"Yes, that is better than die in an explosion," answered Courtney frowning.

Duncan shrugged even if she couldn't see it. "At least let me go first. That way if there is a pit or something I will find it first."

"You don't need to do that. I can take care of myself," replied Courtney in an offended tone.

"Princess, I owe you my life. At least let me do this," Duncan winked and stepped in front of her. Courtney decided to let him, not wanting to waste more time.

They began to advance in the darkness. Their eyes adjusted to the place and they could somehow figure how to navigate on the tunnel.

For Duncan it was like that night in Wawanakwa in which he took her to steal the food from Chef's stash. That was the night they had their first kiss. It was a memory of more simple times, better times.

But Courtney had something else in her mind and after what happened back then, she felt she should ask him. Even if he was just using her she wanted to hear his answer.

"Duncan," her voice was calm, emotionless, "Can I ask you something?"

"What? Since when you ask permission to ask something?" replied the delinquent, in a surprised tone.

The former C.I.T fixed her eyes in the shadow in front of her. "It's an important question, so I want to be sure you will answer it honestly."

"You just save my skin so go ahead. But I may not know the answer," replied the delinquent, smirking in the darkness.

"Why did you cheat on me?"
