Chapter 32: Spring break

(Narrator POV)

It is now April and our happy little family isn't quite that anymore. Between being 4 months pregnant and work, Olivia was tired and usually had a bad attitude when she came home. Noah was tired of school. And Edgar dealing with both of them in top of his difficulties at work, they all just needed a break. Thankfully spring break was right around the corner. They had already planned to go to great wolf lodge for a few days down in Boston. The can't stay for long because Olivia has a department to run and they are already short-handed. But it was nice family getaway especially for Noah. Even Morgan and the family would be tagging along. Around 1:00 Sunday afternoon they checked in. The car ride took longer because Olivia had to pee a lot. When they arrived his sister who'd already been there for a while.

"Morgan just texted; they are at Golden Corral. You wanna put our stuff down and go? Or do something else?"

"That's fine." She whispered "I miss seeing my favorite Goodwin." She went into Noah's room. "Noah we are going to get some food." Edgar came up behind her. "I'm not gonna act like I didn't hear what you said. I'm hurt." He acted.

"Well be hurt all you want. She understands me. I love you though, honey." She clapped her hand on his cheek. They took the 20 minute drive to Golden Corral. When they got out the car Olivia said "Why are we still talking about this?" Edgar was still on the topic of Morgan knowing Olivia better than he does.

"Because it's not true. I know you better than you know yourself. And my sister doesn't know anything about you." He laughed.

"I never said she knew me better than you. All I said was she understands me. You read deeper into that because you thought you had to prove something I already know. Which means your insecure about that subject." She paused for dramatic effect. "Am I right?"

"Don't try that psychological stuff on me."

"I can tell that it worked." She walked ahead into the restaurant. Noah looked up to him and said, "1 for mom 0 for you. If you're gonna argue with mom... you need to practice." He laughed at Edgar for his lack or good arguing.

"Just for that... I'm not going water park with you."

"I was kidding." Noah quickly said.

"No take-cee back-cees?"

"No take-cee back-cees." Inside, they saw Olivia holding Sasha on her lap and talking to morgan. "I heard someone was crying cause they aren't the favorite. He did the same thing when we were younger. Mom and dad always favored me more." Morgan tried to provoke Edgar.

"Oh please we both know that isn't true."

"He's in denial." Olivia laughed. They continued to talk until AJ and Kevin came back to the table from the buffet. "Hey!" Kevin and AJ greeted.

"Livia, do you wanna come with and get food?"

"Sure, honey." Sasha hopped of her lap and grabbed her hand. Edgar whispered as they walked by. "That's my nickname." She slapped his shoulder. "Oh shut up she's three."

"Once again replaced." Olivia walked away smiling to herself and shaking her head. They enjoyed their meal together then walked over to target for snacks and bathing suits. "Olivia it's like 60-65 degrees out here! Aren't you hot, wearing all that black with a sweater?" She had started wearing black to make her look slimmer. She still was having low self esteem issues since she started showing. Hopefully they are very forgiving given how big she had gotten so far in her pregnancy.

"I'm a little warm but I'm fine." They grabbed two shopping carts they thought all the kids would want to go with Morgan and Kevin but Sasha wanted to go with 'Livia', and with mention Edgar. "You know I'm here too Sasha." He said sassily playing with his niece. "Oops." She clapped her hand over her mouth. Olivia smiled at Edgar's interaction with the little girl. Silently hoped for one of their babies to be a girl. But she'd be happy either way. Edgar picked Sasha up and put her in the seating area for kids in the shopping cart. Looking in the bathing suits for women and girls Sasha found the one she wanted, Olivia found the one she wanted but couldn't have. "This would be cute if I could pull it off." It was a black bikini definitely very cute and sexy for someone with a beautiful baby bump. It was perfect for her.

"It would be so cute on you. What do you mean if you could pull it off?"

"You know what I mean. People don't want to see this." She cup her hand under stomach.

"Why are you saying it like that? You sound so grossed out about it."

"Because! You know what i don't want to talk about this right now." She turned away to attend to Sasha.

"So when are we gonna talk about it? Because I would like to know the answer to my question."

"Not now Edgar."

"When?"

"I said not right now!" She sternly look at him. He knew not to push any farther especially not around a young child. "Fine! But we are getting the damn bathing suit."

"Edgar! Language! I'm not gonna wear it. But if you wanna waste your money, be my guest." He threw it in the cart. They didn't talk to each other until they got back to the hotel and everyone else was downstairs at the water park waiting for them. "Can you at least try it on? If you seriously don't like it I'll get a new one."

When she came out the bathroom she said, "are you happy now? I hate it!"

"Why? So are you gonna tell me why you are so embarrassed and grossed by the fact your pregnant with our babies? You used to be so happy about them that when we were home you never wore a shirt, you always would let me talk to them, cuddle with you. All of that but now I can't even touch you, love on you, without you pushing me away. I've let it go on enough, I'm tired of you pushing me away so I wanna know! Why? Why are you hiding something so amazing, Olivia?"

"Because, I don't see what you see, Edgar!" She cried out, emotions pouring out of her. "When I look in the mirror at myself, all I see is how much weight I have gained! I'm worried that one day I will wake up and you won't look at me the same way. I know everyone thinks I'm this beautiful women... but I don't feel that way. I feel the most disgusting and huge I have ever felt in my life. And one day you will wake up and not see the woman I once was. Even after I have the babies... that will be even worse Edgar. Because then I'm just fat, you nor can anyone else say it's because of the babies. No I will just be completely overweight. I'm not embarrassed or grossed out by our babies Edgar. It's me who I'm embarrassed and grossed out with! So if you are gonna leave me because I'm fat do it now."

"I would never do that. Ever! Come here." He took her hand and stood in front of the mirror. "You know why I would never leave you, no matter what... because you have the biggest heart of gold, and a bangin body. Look at mirror Olivia. Now when I look at you I see a very sexy, hot mama, who has the best best curves I have ever seen. But that doesn't matter unless you feel and think the same way. So what do you see, Olivia?"

"Not what you see." She cried harder.

"Why? Did I make you fell unwanted or overweight?"

"No, baby, no. I-I can't tell you. But it wasn't your fault. I promise. I just-"

"You can't tell me or won't?"

"Both."

"You know something that I don't." She pulled out her phone to her messages. Some son of bitch messages her talking about her looks saying horrible things you would never say to a human let alone a pregnant hormonal woman. "Who said this?" He was infuriated.

"I don't know. I don't know the number it wasn't even saved in my phone. And before you think it was Elliot it wasn't I have his number. Look it wasn't totally on whoever this is. I felt like this after sometime, they just confirmed it." She whispered.

"You should never feel like that. I'm sorry I haven't made you feel that way." He placed his hands on her hips facing her. "But usually when people talk about other people it's because they are jealous. I mean who wouldn't be jealous of you. I mean look at you you're sexy as hell and you gotta man who adores you, who is also ain't too bad looking himself." She chuckled. She has smiled more today than she has in almost two weeks. That's saying a lot knowing Olivia. "But to hell with those people. They can be jealous all they want, but they not gonna do is do shit like this. Now I am pissed off at whoever sent this but I will deal with that when we get back home. But I just want you to know that those bad thoughts in your head are so wrong. They couldn't be more wrong, you know how... because a lot of people wish they looked like you but the can't. And because their are people like Elliot who wish they could have you... but it's too late. Cause I'm hooked on you." She kissed her and passionately kissed him back. Something she had been longing for, for weeks. "I've got a hot girlfriend and baby mama. That's a win for me, since they are the same person." They laughed together.

"They better be. But don't sell yourself short either."

"So do you feel any better?"

"Yes, not completely better but your words helped a lot. It will probably take sometime for me to get back to 100% but I'll get there."

"So are you gonna wear the bathing suit."

"No." She said quickly. He pushed her back still holding on to her hips.

"No? I-"

"Relax. I was kidding." The finished up in the rooms, went downstairs to the indoor water park searching for someone in their party of 7. "Knowing my sister, she would probably be somewhere by the wave pool or seating area. The boys are probably going a slide for the fifth time."

"Sasha is right there, so Morgan can't be far." She pointed star the little girl in the shallow part of the wave pool. Walking towards Sasha they heard Morgan. "Edgar! Olivia!" She was waving frantically. "Hey-ohhhh my gosh! You- you, Dad knew it!" Olivia look at her confused. "But OMG you're pregnant! Look at you, you look so amazing." Edgar turned around to watch Sasha while her mother's focus was on Olivia right now.

"Thank you! We're having twins actually. So even better!"

"What! Can I?" Olivia knew she was asking to touch her baby bump. "Aww, how far along are you?"

"17 weeks."

"You're halfway through your pregnancy. And I didn't know. I'm so happy for you guys!"

"We are really happy too! Where are the boys and Kevin?"

"On one of these slides." Edgar came over and asked if she wanted to go to the lazy river for a little, she went with him and left Sasha and Morgan with their things. In the river Olivia and Edgar flowed slowly together. "What did Morgan mean when she said Dad was right?"

"Well a couple of months ago I might have called him while you were having on of your moments and I didn't know what to do. I didn't actually tell him you were pregnant but it was heavily implied." He tried to explain his way out of trouble.

"Right. I'm only gonna let this go because you've been amazing today." After a couple rounds in the lazy river they went back to Morgan and hung around a while. AJ and Noah came barreling towards them. "Hey mommy!"

"Hello, let me guess you've been in the same ride 5 times."

"Yes they- wow! Um... you- they have." Kevin cleared his throat thrown of by her stomach.

"Kevin it's okay just say it."

"I don't think that would be appropriate."

"Kevin I'm pregnant."

"Oh okay. Good- I mean congratulations." He stumbled over his words nervously, almost offending Olivia. Everyone laughed at Kevin. They spent about an hour or two at the water park before going back up to the rooms to shower and dressed for the next activity; arcade games. The boys ran around together and the girls went and got some dippin dots. When they came back Kevin and Edgar were squaring off on the basketball game. Edgar was winning barely by 3 shots. At the end of the game it was 52-51 Edgar. "That's what I do!" Edgar taunted Kevin.

"Whatever catch me on the really court I'd whoop your ass... any day."

"Sure." Edgar rolled his eyes laughing.

"I bet I could beat you..." Olivia said.

"Yeah right. I don't wanna hurt your feelings honey."

"Oh you won't. Let's go. Don't hold back either I want to beat you fair and square."

She put Sasha down and took coins from Noah, put them in two coins for another round.

"You do know that in high school he was the best player in his state right? I don't think you wanna mess with him." Kevin stated.

"So what? He's old now."

"Really okay lets go." The whole minute of the shoot off Edgar trailed Olivia by at least two. The buzzer went off and "Oh my gosh... she beat you!" Kevin shockingly said. "You lost to Olivia."

"No I did not I had 74 there's no way she got- 77. You got 77?"

"Edgar you lost to mom? Wow. That's just sad." They busted out laughing.

"You say that like I'm so bad." The two couple dropped their kids off at the kids club and went out to eat for burgers for a little catch up time and to watch the final four for men's and women's basketball. After that they went back to the lodge and went to sleep. Today ended on a great note. So much better that the past few weeks.
