Chapter 34: Fin

(Narrator POV)

"Edgar I have to go to the hospital. Fin was shot."

Present time...

"Rollins, Kat what happened?" Olivia ran into the hospital out of breath. "Is he okay? Someone tell me something!"

"Liv, call down stress isn't good for the baby."

"Would everyone stop telling what is and isn't good for me. I would never intentionally do anything to her my child. I just need to know about Fin!" Olivia was getting frustrated.

"He was caught in a cross-fire. The father of the vic and Zion the father of the kid found with her. We were talking with Zion's father when McKenzie's father barged in the precinct and shot at Mr. Mcneely." She knew she should have left when Garland told her to.

"Has the doctor said anything?"

"No, nothing. I asked the medic who was working on him, he was bleeding out a lot. He has a gut shot and... Uhh- cap,"

"What Kat."

"The bullet hit an artery." Olivia was stunned. Last time she heard those words, Mike Dodds died. She didn't know what she would do if Fin died, they had been together for so long. They are best friends she could bare to lose him.

"Oh my Gosh." Her legs gave out underneath her, Carisi and Kat caught her. They sat her down in the closest chair. She felt like she couldn't breathe. She felt hot, dizzy.

"I'm gonna get her some water." Carisi excused himself.

"He's gonna be fine, Liv."

"You said that the last time. Plus, that's my line. I always tell people everything is fine and then shit blows up in my face." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "How long have you guys been here?"

"Maybe 45 minutes to an hour." Amanda replied. "Have tried to get a hold of Ken and Alejandro but nothing from them. Is there anyone else you know that you could call?"

"No, no girlfriend, the only relative he has is Ken. I could try calling his ex wife to see if she could call Ken." Carisi came back with her water but she pushed it away. After an hour Edgar called to see if she was doing alright given the circumstances. Of course she said she was fine but he knew otherwise. Chief arrived shortly thereafter. They still hadn't heard from any doctor yet which was making Olivia frustrated. A few more hours passed by before the doctor came back. "Family of Odafin Tutuola." Olivia snapped up instantly.

"I'm Olivia Benson his Emergency contact. How is he?" Her eyes pleading to the hound nurse.

"He is out of surgery, but he is still in critical condition. Very unstable at the moment... if there's anyone who should be here..." she didn't have to finish her sentence she knew exactly what she meant. Her chest got heavy and she hadn't cried yet, but with this new information she let them fall. The doctor turned away as Olivia walked back to the group. "What did she say?" Chief asked.

"She said, that he was out of surgery... but is unstable and in critical condition." She was breathing heavily between every few words. "The doctor told me that if anyone who should be here- oh my gosh!" She broke down into tears. They were quick to her side, they all knew how close Olivia and Fin are, that this would completely break Olivia.

"Liv, I know it's hard right now but try to relax." Carisi rubbed her back as they once again moved her to their seats. A sharp pain stuck Olivia, she cried out in pain. "What? What, Liv talk to us!" Carisi did his best trying to help his former Lieutenant. Amanda ran for help, while Kat called Edgar. "My babies." She said between tears at a whisper. Nurses got her to a room quickly, Chief stayed with her until Edgar would get there. Meanwhile the others called Ken, he finally picked up he didn't know what to do. He was so paralyzed with fear that his father might die before he even has a chance to say goodbye. In the midst of Olivia's distress Fin is the thing she is really worried about. And then another strong pain came. Doctors were concerned with the babies' heart rates and Olivia's blood pressure.

"Ahh it hurts- it's too much! Owwww did anyone call Edgar? Ughhh, somebody help me! Christian I can't lose my babies'." She pleaded.

"Edgar is on his way. You're not gonna lose your baby, you're not gonna lose Fin either you're both gonna be fine." Chief said. "You gotta try to breathe slower. The twins heart rates' are spiking, they are worried about you blood pressure sudden increase. Try to breathe with me." Her breathing was still a little shaky but she was breathe slower until another pain hit. "Okay I think she having contractions." One of the doctors said.

"Contractions? I'm only 18 weeks. Please you have to help them." She grabbed her doctor's arm.

"I promise I will do everything in my power to help them Olivia. I really need your help though. You have to slow your breathing down. You're babies aren't getting enough oxygen."

"I need Edgar." The doctor look at Christian. "Who is that? Her husband?"

"He's on his way. He should be here soon." Ironically Edgar rushed into her room, to her side. Christian backed away so that Edgar could take his place right as another contractions ripped through her body. He quickly took her hand and moved her hair out of her sweaty face.

"Hey baby."

"Edgar, I'm scared."

"I know it's scary, baby. But you can't think like that. Think about what it's gonna be like when we finally get to meet our babies." The nurse hooked a bag of terbutaline on her IV. "You remember how you felt when you got Noah... you get to experience that again times two." All the doctors and everyone telling her to relax, stay calm, breathe slower. Only made her feel worse, she just needed someone to reassure her and take her mind away from the pain. "I can't wait to meet them."

"Me either. I hope they look like you!" She gave a small smile.

Over the next hour Edgar comforted her, by laying behind her caressing her baby belly. They had some giggles through the pains that were starting to slow but not a lot. The distress decreased now that she was calm. "Has anyone said anything about Fin?" Olivia asked.

"No one has said anything. The squad went home. Kat has Noah."

"I hope that Ken gets here soon. I can't lose Fin. He has been with me since basically day one. He has been the best friend anyone could ask for. And before you... he was all I had. He's the only one who hasn't left." She teared up a bit.

"I know, but you know he's not gonna go that easy. Fin is strong, he'll make it through. Try to get some rest, I'll wake you if I hear anything." Not too long after she was dozing off. All of the stress of the past few hours and the day she had at work, sleep was much needed. "I love you baby. Everything gonna be alright." He kissed her forehead.

In the morning around 9:00 the Doctor who worked on again knocked on the door, while Olivia was still sleeping. "Hi, I'm Dr. Landry I have some news about Mr. Tutuola."

"Is it good or bad news? We can't afford to make her stressed anymore at least not right now." Edgar responded.

"It's Very good news. I can wait until she wakes up if that's better?" Edgar promised to wake her if there was anything updates or anything on Fin, but she really needs her rest right now.

"No right now is fine. Liv, the doctor is back."

"Is it about Fin?"

"Yes."

"Is he dead?" Edgar and Dr. Landry laughed at her bluntness.

"No Ms. Benson he is very much so alive and well. Well as well as any person who has been what he's been through. His son arrived and everything looks good. He is stable now and talking just a little."

"That's good. Will I be able to go see him?"

"That would be a question for your doctor to answer. But I will ask for you." Her doctor said that she didn't feel comfortable with Olivia going to see him yet. Which made Olivia irritated but she understood. Edgar FaceTimed Ken off of Olivia's phone so that she could see for herself he was alive. "Hi Ken!" Olivia said.

"Hey heard about what happened how are you?"

"I'd be better if I weren't stuck in a hospital bed."

"Same." She heard Fin say.

"Fin!" Ken turned the camera towards his father.

"Hey baby girl." You could tell in his voice e that he was real tired and dazed.

"Hey nothing, you had me worried sick."

"I'm sorry. I wasn't... trying to get shot. But you know, shit happens."

"I'm just glad to see you alert and talking. You gave me a bit of a scare last night. But I'm fine, babies are too. I just want you to focus on recovering."

"Will do. You know me, I'm gonna thug this shit out. It ain't like it hasn't happen before."

"Whatever you say. Hopefully I can come see you in person soon. Feel better."

"You too. Edgar, take care of her."

"I will. Bye!"
