Chapter 36: Happy birthday!
(Narrator POV)
Later that day, in the middle of the night Olivia woke with a strange feeling in her lower stomach. She tried to soothe the babies but of that didn't work. All Olivia could think of was the worst; she was having contractions again. "Edgar, wake up." She shook him. "Edgar!" He awoke and sensed Olivia's panic.
"What is it?"
"I don't know, I have a weird feeling. I'm scared. Help me." He could hear the panic and worry in his voice. Which made him even more worried than her.
"Okay, okay, where do you feel it? Does it hurt like are you in pain? Talk to me."
"I don't know... I'm not in pain like I was a few weeks ago. It- I don't know how to explain it. It's right here." She place her hand over the spot where she felt awkward, lower half of the middle of her stomach. Edgar replace Olivia's hand with his to try to get a feel of what's happening. "Did you feel that?" He asked.
"Yeah. What is it?"
"Our babies are kicking!"
"Are you serious? I haven't felt them yet. Aren't you supposed to little flutters before?"
"I don't know but they are kicking. They are pretty strong too! I'm so excited, so much has happened in the past 24 hours. This has made it so much better. Even though I wish I was sleep right now but this is incredible."
"I know right. I'm sorry I woke you up, honey. I just was scared that..."
"Okay no tears, I wasn't trying to make you feel bad. No tears."
"I'm sorry I- these damn hormones make me want to cry over stupid shit." Boy did he know that. She has never been so emotion as much as she has been in the past few months.
Two weeks later...
Today was a either gonna be horrible or amazing for Olivia; no in between. It was her Birthday. She hardly ever actually celebrated her birthday, but this year Edgar was throwing a party for her. It's gonna be in their huge backyard of their home. All of their friends and family from everywhere would be there if possible. Edgar woke up first and started on cooking her favorite breakfast and made her some coffee. Olivia woke up and looked at her phone. '9:43. Saturday, June 5th' She though time herself 'it's my birthday' she was very excited for it. She got up and went in the kitchen where she saw Edgar whipping up some food. "Hey, you!" He gave her a kiss. "Happy birthday!"
"Thank you! What are you cooking?" She wrapped herself under his arm. "Montana pancakes, with powder sugar and scrambled eggs as a substitute for eggs over medium." He said still pouring the pancake mix on to the skillet.
"My favorite!" She squeezes his waist. "And Krispy Kreme donuts!" She moved toward the donut box and he stopped her. "Not for you. I got those because you know I don't like this. And we have nothing else in the refrigerator or pantry. These are for me." She could tell he was just joking but she went along with it and made a fake pouty face. "But it's my birthday... and your babies would love to have a donut or two? One for each?"
"Fine, but they are for them not you." He slid the box to her and she took out a regular glazed donut and a chocolate-glazed donut. "Well they thank you very much." She smiled at him while she walk over to the island seats. She watched him cook her breakfast. "Wanna see something cool?" He asked.
"Let's see." He picked up the spatula, it was time for the pancakes to be flipped. He had done this countless times before Olivia came out the room and failed every time. He flipped it and it landed. "Impressive."
"I know right. I've ruined 4 pancakes trying to do that."
"Wow. These are so good, kind of one of my latest cravings." She finished one donut.
"Oh really? Maybe we should serve donuts at your party." He was plating the pancakes and starting in the eggs. "That wouldn't be a good idea because I would eat them all because Karter and Westley can never seem to have enough. And you sir have a donut craving too, all the time." She joked.
"No I do not. I can show lots of control around donuts. Today when I went to get them I only got half a dozen and not a dozen. So I think I could handle myself."
"Really, right. Whatever helps you sleep at night." That laughed together. "What time are we gonna start setting up?"
"We? We as in who?" He said taking her eggs out of the skillet onto her plate with her pancakes as Liv spoke. "You and I. I don't know some other people. I think we should start after I get done eating."
"No. You're not helping. Because one it's your birthday party. Two because I have enough people to help me. And three you're pregnant."
"Fine. Who is gonna to help? Can you pass me the strawberry syrup?" Olivia didn't know anything about the party except that there was a party for her birthday happening. "My family."
"You don't consider me as your family. I'm carrying not one, but two little human beings with half of you... I think I qualify as family." She chuckled. He walked over to her and sat with his knees towards her, placed his hand her on her her big but cute baby bump. "You are my family, and you know what I meant. My sister, my cousins, will be helping me. Today is about you and it will be stress free, drama free, everything free. Just... be free." He laughed at his last statement. "I will let you know when you should get ready and when the guest arrive, okay?" He gave her a nice smooch. "Okay." Edgar cleaned up the kitchen after Olivia finished eating. He took the donuts outside and his speakers and started to set up for her party. Olivia sat at the island for a while she looked at her phone for the first time today and the notifications were just pouring in. It was text messages, voicemails, Instagram post, you mane it and it was there. After going through some of the birthday wish she looked up and saw through the back windows and French doors, Edgar jamming to some music while hanging something on the house. He looked so sexy with his all black hat in backwards on top of his beautiful curls that flew out the bottom, with a basic while shirt, and grey sweat shorts. Olivia started to record on her phone. She heard the music change and Edgar said very loudly, "Aw yeah this my jam!" It was one of his favorite songs, Let's Get Married (Remarqable remix) by Jagged Edge featuring Run. The lyrics related to them so much, Edgar thought. She heard him singing, she always enjoyed watching him sing because he always got so into it. Olivia got out of her seat and walked into the backyard.
"Meet me in the altar in your white dress.
We ain't getting no younger, we might as well do it. Been feeling all the while girl I must confess. Girl let's just get married I just wanna get married." As he was singing he turned around think it was his family coming through the house but he saw about and the phone, just kept singing and dancing away. He started to sing to Olivia, "Meet me in the altar in your white dress. We ain't getting no younger, we might as well do it. Been feeling all the while girl I must confess. Let's get married. He started shaking his ass playfully. "What the hell are you doing Edgar!" Morgan yelled from the other side of the backyard by the gate door. And everyone broke out in laughter and Edgar pause the song.
"Hey Edgar."
"Hey Sis." They hugged. "Ya know if being an attorney doesn't work out, you could be a professional 'dancer' if you know what I mean."
"You got jokes. But I don't my girlfriend would approve."
"Hey as long you are bring money in I don't see the problem." She joked. And it sprung another laugh. "I can't catch a break with you guys." Edgar's said. "Be quiet Edgar today's not about you. Happy birthday Liv!" Morgan hugged her tightly. "Oh my goodness, the babies have grown so much since I last saw you. You are just glowing!"
"I know they just keep getting bigger and bigger everyday. I mean look at their dad. I was tell Edgar yesterday that they are gonna come out 6 feet tall."
"How far along are you?"
"I'm 5 months." Edgar added himself to the conversation, "No, honey. You're 6 months today. Must me those damn pregnancy hormones again." He said lightly. "Oh whatever get back to twerking- I mean working. Anyways where is everyone else?" Edgar played his music again and started hanging the rest of the decorations on the house.
"They're waiting in the car. You can't see all of the decorations or anything. It was supposed to be a surprise party but we were trying to scare you and something happen. So we decided to tell you about the party and keep everything else a secret. So I'm gonna need to stay in the house or leave and go somewhere. But you must not see or step in the backyard."
"Okay. Edgar I have a nail appointment and hair appointment so just text me if I need to get back sooner." He didn't here her because of how loud the music was. "I'll tell him just go." Morgan said. Olivia went in the house and put on her white dress for the party. It was an off the should knew length dress paired with bright red heels. She needed someone to zip her up but she couldn't go in the back yard so she texted Edgar to come inside. "What's up?"
"I need you to zip the back up for me." He quickly zipped it up gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and ran back out to decorate. She grabbed her wallet and keys.
She made it to the nail salon for her appointment at 12:00 o'clock. "Olivia! Happy birthday!" The lady at the front desk exclaimed. "Thank you, Melissa!"
"Maybe it's because you're pregnant or it's your birthday but you are just glowing with beauty more than usual of course."
"Well thank you, I've heard that so many times today I feel like I look like a walking glow stick." Olivia joked. "You can come one back so you know what color you want?"
"Your brightest shade of red, for my hands and feet." Olivia sat back and relaxed. She was enjoying the foot massage and the water jets. Once she was done with her appointment she paid and left immediately or else she would be late to her hair appointment across town it was already 1:20 and her appointment was at 1:30. By the time she arrive it was 1:37. "I'm so sorry I'm late the nail salon took a little longer than I anticipated."
"It's all good Olivia. By the way happy birthday." The receptionist; Mary, told her. "Thank you."
"Well Jackie is waiting for you. You can go on back."
"Hey Liv! Happy birthday! What are we doing today?"
"Thank you and loose curls today. I've already washed and blow dried it so I just need you to do your magic."
"Alright I think I can do that." Jackie first straighten her hair to clip her ends then went in with a curling iron to give her the best loose curls she had ever had. Olivia was shocked at how good she looked with her new hairstyle. "Wow. You are a miracle worker. I love it."
"Well thank you! I try to do my best."
"How much do I owe you today?"
"On the house. My gift to you." Olivia was still pulling out her cash when Jackie stopped her. "Liv please, it's just an extra happy birthday."
"Fine but this your tip." She gave her 20. "Since you won't let me pay."
"Olivia no, my gift. Go spend your money on baby clothes and stuff like that. 20 is not important to me."
"Fine. Thanks again." It was 2:00 and she had an hour to spare. She decided to take Jackie's advice and go baby shopping. It was in the same plaza as the salon so she walked to target. She hadn't had her baby shower yet and they had absolutely nothing. They had only focused on painting and getting new furniture to furnish Noah's room and they had the babies' room painted. But other than that they had nothing. She looked for small things like blankets, clothes, bibs, little toys, diapers, and towels. She had found a decent amount of things for both boys and checkout. She had lots of stuff in her cart to walk all the way back to her car. She got her trunk stuffed with lots of baby stuff. She looked at the time it was 3:32. She was super late. Surprised she didn't get a call from Edgar yet. She sent him a quick text. "On my way. Be there in 15."
He replied with a simple 'K'. Olivia pulled up to the house carefully because there were cars everywhere. On both sides of the street she saw some on the other street too. Music was loud and you could see people partying and kids playing football and basketball. People were in the drive way but she could still get in the garage. "I'm here."
'Stay where you are I'll come get you.' Edgar responded. He walked in the garage, "Hey! Let's go." He took her by the hand.
"You look good. Smell good too!" She told him. He had on a red polo shirt with white pants and a pair of Jordans. And a the same hat from earlier. "Thank you. You look amazing yourself." He walked up to the gate gave someone a thumbs up. "Welcome to the party, the birthday girl! Happy birthday Olivia!" Someone said over the mic. They walked in under a red and white balloon arch and there was easily over 100 people there, lots of food and games. Edgar even opened the pool up for everyone who wanted to. It was mostly filled with kids. Olivia was all smiles. This was her best birthday yet. Noah ran up to her. "Mommy!"
"Hi Noah!"
"Happy birthday!"
"Thank you did you have fun with AJ and Sasha?"
"Yes. Bye." He took of running to the other group of kids. She walked to the DJ and he handed her the mic while Edgar checked on the grill. "Hello everyone! I'm sorry I'm late. I was not expecting so many people to come, but you all showed up and I'm so happy that you did. I'll come around and thank you all personally in a second. But it looks like there's lots of food, games, and it looks like our chef and pool boy Edgar cleaned the pool." She earned a laugh from the crowd. "So just have fun! And I guess they will dismiss by tables to get food." Olivia walked over to the first table of guest and greeted everyone. It was filled of mostly neighbors and their kids. The next table was Edgar's sister. The ladies of the squad, La'Mai, Lisa, and more close friends like that. The next table was Edgar, Edgar's friends and male family members. The next table more friends from around the area. And the last few tables was Kids tables and more family, friends, and people from church. She had received many compliments on her hair and the her pregnancy glow. And some questions about the babies.
After everyone had the chance to speak to Olivia, she went to sit with La'Mai and them. "You seriously are wearing heels?" Morgan said.
"Yeah it's a red and white party and my heels are the only thing I have red. So I had to where them. My feet aren't hurt that bad."
"Girl, it's your party plus I don't think people are gonna care of you aren't wearing red. And if they do then screw them." La'Mai said.
"Ehh I wear them until my feet start to hurt too bad then I'll put some sandals on. But on another note you guys this is beautiful. How long did it take to set up?"
"After you left maybe an hour or so. It didn't take much help." After taking with her girls she went inside to use the restroom and drink some water. She had a slight headache that was bothering her. Edgar walked up to her. "Hey I was looking for ya. You okay?"
"I was using the bathroom. And I have a slight headache right now, it's making me a little light headed. But I'll be fine as soon as I eat."
"You want me to get you some food right now?"
"No I'll get some in a second."
"You sure?"
"Yeah. Well I'm gonna go by the pool and games say hi to the kids." She walked away but he grabbed her arm. "I love your hair by the way. You look stunning."
"Thanks babe." She gave him a peck. She walked to the pool and she didn't realize she was walking into a war zone. Super soakers and water gun fights. "Time-out!" She said so they all could hear her. "No one spray or shoot. I just want to say hi."
"Happy birthday!" They all yelled. "Thanks guys... time in!" She moved quickly out of the water zone. She never really realized how huge the back yard was. It had to be at least half and acre or maybe every more. Their house was pretty far out. She made her journey back to the table. She finally sat down. "Looks like my party is more of a family reunion. But I love it. Everyone is so fun and hilarious."
"Yeah the Goodwin family is pretty large and this isn't even an eighth of our family in just the north. We have a lot in the south." Morgan stated. "I can relate." Amanda and Kat agreed. "Yeah well I have much experience with family. It's a nice change. How's the food?"
"It's really good. I didn't know Edgar could grill so good." Lisa said.
"Yeah, I might have go make myself a plate in a minute."
"Cap, you should've got your food first. I can go make you plate now." Kat suggested. "It's fine I'm perfectly capable of making my own plate and besides I'm the reason you all had to wait to get food. And there is plenty more food in the house and being made. So no it's fine."
"Yeah right but I'm not gonna force you." She put her hands up in defense. Olivia looked down at the ground and saw some keys. "Hey Kat can you hand me those keys?" She gave her the keys. They didn't belong to Olivia. "Do any of you guys drive a Mazda?" A fathered no and shake of head came across the table. She asked the tables next to her and they said no. She walked up to the DJ and asked for the mic. "Hey guys I found some keys. They belong to a Mazda and they have a Jamaican tag on it. They're yours? Here you go."
"Thank you."
"No problem. Anyways we are about to start some games. What's the first one Edgar?"
"Potato sack relays." He whispered.
"Our first game is gonna take-" she gasped. Edgar looked up at her to make sure nothing was wrong physically her kept asking her what's wrong but she didn't answer. She saw someone she had felt like she waited forever to see. Cragan and Eileen walking in the the party. "Excuse me for a second." She walked as fast as she could to them and immediately broke down crying as soon as she hugged Cragen. She hadn't seen him since Christmas. And barely talked since then other to give him the news about the pregnancy. "Olivia, I've missed you so much."
"I missed you too, daddy." Awes struck from the crowd. She cried harder and Eileen took the mic out of her so she wouldn't drop it. Edgar asked his cousin to watch the grill while he goes to check on Olivia. He just stood behind her and rubbed her back because if not, she would be a mess afterwards. She need someone else there other than Don and Eileen because all they were gonna do is make her want to cry more. She released him and gave Elieen a hug. "How long have you guys been here?" She asked still crying but trying to get herself together. Edgar rubbed her sides to help calm herself. "We've been here for two days. But we were apart of your surprise so we didn't call. How are you? I've never seen you pregnant but you look amazing."
"I'm doing pretty good. My two littles one, Noah, and this guy." She looked up at Edgar. "They keep me happy."
"That's good. Do you know the genders?"
"Two baby boys. Yeah couldn't get a girl in there out of two. But we can have one later. Well I have to finish this announcement really quick and then I'll get back to you. There are seats and chairs open everywhere." Elieen banded her the mic back and walked with Don to two open seats. "I'm sorry guys. I haven't seen my dad in six months so when I saw him I had to hug him. And I can't stop crying, must be those pregnancy hormones." She laughed. "But as I was saying we are about to start the sack race relays. I or someone with explain the rules when we get down there. So if your playing come on if not I'd still come because it's gonna be hilarious." Everyone walked over to the open field behind the tables and there was the obstacle course and sack race. Once everyone including the kids were down there. Edgar and Kevin Explain the rules. "Alright so everyone we will begin the sack races first so the rules are that there must be 4 people on a team. Each team must have at least on child. Every person on each team will go down and back by themself. Then after everyone has gone through once two people it doesn't matter who, have to go together with one leg each in the sack. Whoever finishes first has to sprint to their cone and set their sack under it. Any question? Alright find your teams and who ever gets to a sack first will be in the first race." Olivia walked to the finish line, and sat on the stool. She decided that if she can't play she would be referee. The first eight teams were assembled and ready to start. She saw Noah on a team with Kat, Kevin, and Christian. Then Morgan, La'Mai, AJ, and Raejay. But she was surprised when she didn't see Edgar on any team. He was walking toward her. "What are you doing?"
"I'm not playing. I figured I'd sit this out with you. Uh, hold on," he looked down the field made sure ever was set and ready to go. He gave Olivia the megaphone he stood behind her and put his hands on hips and stomach. "On your mark... get set... go!" Some teams had already gotten off to a bad start some people fell. "Man down in lane 3 and 8." Olivia said over the megaphone. They did the races for about 30 minutes until they had a champion team. Which was Steve, Raejay, Lisa, and Sasha's team. Then they did the obstacle course for the same amount of time. Everybody went back to partying. Olivia sat down at her table and rubbed her belly. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Aye cap, you good?" Kat asked. Which caused everyone else to worry.
"Yeah I have a small headache, the babies are just moving and kicking a lot. And the don't ever listen to me, they only listen to Edgar."
"Have you eaten yet?" Morgan asked.
"No I haven't." Morgan stood up to talk to Edgar. "Little brother."
"Big sister."
"Whatever. What does Liv eat?"
"At this point I really don't know, last few weeks her taste has been everywhere and it's been really weird so... why?
"Cause she said the babies were kicking and moving a lot and she hasn't eaten yet." He look over her rubbing her stomach. "Okay can you make that for her. I'm gonna go check on Liv guys." He left his table. "Hey babe, you alright?"
"Yes and no. You kids won't stop moving a kicking me. But other than that I'm great." He grabbed a chair and sat behind her and rubbed her stomach. It's was a very soothing feeling for her and the babies because they settled down quickly. Morgan brought her a plate. "You didn't-"
"You weren't gonna get it so I got it for you. It caused me no harm. Just shut up and eat it."
"Well thank you." They both laughed.
"You feel better?"
"Yes thank you, baby." He went back to his table to talk his guys about the plan.
"He is such a great man Olivia." Lisa said.
"He really is. Especially when it come to the babies he makes sure I'm good all the time. But sometimes he is annoying."
"Like most men." La'Mai added.
"No edgar takes it to the next level. Like I could be in the room and he's playing on the Xbox with Noah and out of nowhere. He'll pop in randomly and ask you good like five times. But no matter how annoying he is, I don't know what I'd do without him." They talked for a little while longer while Liv finished eating. And the song came on. Let's get Married by Jagged Edge. They all heard Edgar's table get excited about the song. She saw Edgar zoom across the yard in to the house. About two minutes into the song he come running out and grabs Olivia and starts sing and dance around her.
"What's going on across the seas,It ain't nothin', I ain't frontin'. Shorty comin' with me
Now I done already gave you the keys to tha Range And your last name 'bout to change

Triple dub rev to the run dot com." Then he started to twerk again. And more dancing, "girl let's just get married," he bent down on one knee. "I just wanna get married." The music stopped. Everyone gasped. He flipped the black velvet box open and a beautiful engagement ring was there. Nobody saw this coming, they all had their phones out to record him dancing. The photographer was in front taking pictures. Olivia started to cry hard. Awes come from everyone.
"Olivia, I've loved you since that day I met you. You have made better man out of me. And I'm different because of you. You have brought me joy I didn't even know one person could have. I have dreamed about marry the love of my life for years... then I met you and I knew indefinitely that you were gonna be my wife. There's is no one else I would rather ask this question to, Olivia will you marry me?" She wiped some tears away but more just fell.
"Yes, yes I'll marry you!" He slipped the ring on her finger. Everyone at the party clapped, screamed, and whistled. The DJ brought the music back in. She cried even more. Olivia covered her face while Edgar hugged her. "I love you baby. I've never been so sure in my life. You are the women I want. You are all I want." She just nodded on his chest. She looked up at him and the finally sealed it with a kiss. The photographer got some good photos. She pulled back from Edgar and said "thank you."
"Don't thank me. If you weren't you then I wouldn't have done anything of this. You deserve this ring. I love you, happy birthday!" He wiped some of her tears. "Let me go get myself together so we can do cake and cupcakes." She walked into the house. La'Mai and Morgan ran in after her. They went to the bedroom and she was crying again. "Oh Liv, why so many tears?" La'Mai asked.
"Cause I'm so happy but I don't deserve any of this. All these people who showed up here, this ring, Edgar. I don't deserve it."
"Yes you do! There's nobody out there who would say otherwise. Edgar definitely wouldn't. You have brought so much joy to our family Olivia ever since we met you. And we really needed it." Morgan added. "Liv, you are the one for him. I know my brother, he has searched everywhere where for you. Not someone like you, just you."
"Thank you for coming in here. I just can't believe he actually proposed. He always told me he would marry me, but I never really thought it would happen."
"Well it did. And I'm so glad he finally did it. Because everyone saw how he adored you. And can I just say that my match making was so perfect with you guys." La'Mai said causing them to laugh. "Now lets get it together and go enjoy the rest of this party." La'Mai touches yo her make up while Morgan looked for some sandals for her. "Boom. All done."
"Thanks, La'Mai."
"Here put these on." Morgan set her white Birkenstock's on the floor. "Okay but I have to have my heels for pictures."
"Olivia no one is gonna care if you have sandals on in a picture."
"I care." Edgar walked in the room. "Is everything okay?"
"Go!" Olivia told him, he didn't move. "Edgar we just fixed my makeup. If I see you I'm gonna cry." He didn't understand and look at Morgan. "Hormones. Did you forget she was pregnant." He just walked out. A few minutes later they came out as well. Somebody had cleared a table on the back porch for her to sit so they could sing happy birthday and pass out cake. They had two cakes and 100 cupcakes. Olivia passed out cake to people who wanted it. Then Edgar came around "Liv I can do this. Go eat some cake I'll cut it."
"Okay can you cut me a slice of the strawberry shortcake cake? Thank you." She was about to take a seat when she remembered the party was ending. She asked the DJ for the mic. "Hello, again. Before everyone starts to leave. I want to thank you all for coming. I hope you enjoyed yourself because I enjoyed having every single one of you here. My party would not have been the same if you didn't show up. Thank you guys for all of the gifts, for making me laugh. This is the best birthday I have ever had. And I'm not kidding. I want to thank My family you know who you are, for setting up this place it looks magical. Thank you Don and Eileen for being here today I have missed you guys so much. And Edgar... ugh I'm not gonna cry I told my self don't cry."
"She's gonna cry." The DJ said over his mic. "I am gonna cry." The audience laughed.
"We literally just fixed my makeup so I could take pictures. Okay get it together Olivia. Edgar? Thank you for everything. You made my day. You did all of this for me when you didn't have too. You fulfilled my dream of finding such a perfect man, the man I love. I couldn't thank you enough for my gift. This ring is so beautiful and I love you, honey!Anyways it was a pleasure meeting all of you. Before you leave tonight if you want a picture just come find me wherever I am, I'm a wide load so I won't be to far. Just find me and we can take a picture. Thank you all for coming and DJ can we get some dancing music?" He turned on the Cha Cha Slide and just about everyone got up and did it. Then he turned on the wobble while Liv was taking pictures with people. Noah came running to her. "Hey mom can we take a picture? I feel like I haven't seen you in forever." He had change from his bathing suit to some casual clothes. That matched the red and white theme of the party.
"Sure baby! I haven't see you all day either. I've missed you so much." She picked him up and took some pictures. "Can I get in the picture?" Edgar asked. "Yeah come on." She shifted to the right so he could stand on her left. He placed his arm around her and they took a few pictures. Then it was just Edgar and Olivia. He put his hands around her stomach. She put her hands on top of his and looked up at him. Then the photographer hand them hold hands and he took a picture of the ring. They all took more photos with the whole family, or in different duos like, just Kevin and Morgan, or just La'Mai and Christian. After a while it was just the immediate family. While Olivia was taking pictures she didn't see that they had cleaned up already.
"Wow. You guys work fast. But I don't know about you guys but I'm ready to get out of the clothes and put on something comfortable."
"Same." Edgar agreed. They all went inside to get changed. "Can you unzip me please? Thank you."
"Do you want to do anything else today? It's only 6:00, not even sun down yet."
"It depends, did you have something else planned to do today?"
"Yes and no. If you wanted to do something after the party with just us, I had the idea that we could go miniature golfing. Since you could get in much of the fun today."
"If you wanna go, let's go. And I told you I wanted to have the games at the party. There was much I wouldn't be able to do, I had lots of fun today just watching."
"Whatever, but are you sure you wanna go? Because if you're tired I don't want to force you to go."
"Yeah let's go." They walked out to the living no one was downstairs yet. "Oh Edgar can you help me with something? It's in the car."
"Yeah sure. Should I be nervous?"
"No. I just need yo to help me get this stuff out the trunk." She walked him out to the garage and opened the trunk, his jaw dropped. "What did you do?"
"I went in the baby store to waste time. Probably not my best idea but I found some really good stuff."
"Did you buy the whole store. I mean this, this is a lot of stuff." He picked up the baby sleeper box. "Really? Do you know what a baby shower is? It's where, really nice people bring you very neat baby things."
She started grabbing some bags. "Yes I know what a baby shower is. I just wanted to one. So some else can bring one, we have two babies."
"Okay." They walked the baby stuff upstairs to the nursery. Olivia was groaning going up the stairs cause her feet were hurting from wearing her heels for so long. "You alright?"
"Yeah, my feet are killing me right now. But I'll be okay." She put the bath stuff in the bathroom.
"Are you sure then? You want to do mini golf because with don't want your feet to get worse."
"I'm gonna wear my tennis shoes. I still wanna go I haven't spent much time with Noah today and I don't want him to feel neglected with two more babies coming. I wanna make the best of the moments we have left in these last few months." The finished putting the baby stuff in the nursery before they left.
At the mini golf course Noah and Olivia were attached spending every minute together taking silly picture and videos together. It's almost like Olivia forgot about Edgar, Morgan, and Kevin. Noah forgot about Sasha and AJ. After they finished with mini golf they got ice cream and headed back home. Pretty much for the rest of the night everyone did their own thing. Edgar made Olivia a bath then massaged her feet. "Thank you honey. I really needed that."
"You know I gotta take care of my girl. My fiancé! Man I love saying that. And I'm happy to say you're my first."
"And last. You really put did yourself today. Today could have been more magical."
"I wanted today to be magical. I'm glad I fulfilled my goals. But today has also been a long day and I'm very very tired. All that dancing takes a lot of energy." They kissed each other good night. The perfect way to end a perfect day.
