Hello, and thanks for coming again. Episode 58 is here, and only 8 remain. What will happen with Cody now that he lost Charlotte? Will the Heather alliance dominate now that they have half the votes? And will Mike find Max's device or discover Lilly? Find out now here in Total Drama Tyranny of the Masses.
And if you are enjoying the story, please remember to mark it as a favorite, or even better, leave a review with your thoughts on the episode. These not only motivate me but also help me to improve this and other stories. Now before getting started, let me answer last week's reviews.
amit. avrashmi: Yes, poor Charlotte, she let her anger control her. Your guesses are interesting. I wonder if Lilly voted for her.
Tempokeep: Hehehe, yep sorry but Charlotte is out, but your other guesses may be on point. I'm glad you liked the challenge. It was quite fun to write it.
Harmony735: Thanks for you kind words.
stuncan: Ok another fine guess. I wonder if you're right. As the contestants reduce in number, it will be easier for them to interact, so maybe Sammy and Courtney will talk in the future (if they stay in the game.)
appleblitz159: Thing seems to be looking good for the delinquent, I just hope all continue according to the plan ;)
guest: Thanks, here is the next one, I hope you like it too.
coralcarl11: Yes, Duncan always has problems winning immunities after the merge, which is funny because he always reached the merge.
Aleheather4ever: Yes, poor Heather, she is not only alone but there is a traitor in the group, she needs to improve her game or something before she gets in trouble.
And as always, a BIGGER THAN YOU USUAL shoutout and THANKS to Geofics, who helps me proofread the episodes. This small text is the less I can do to show my gratitude. Thanks a lot.

Four weddings and a maze
Last time on Total Drama, Tyranny of the Masses, we witness the Total Drama Grand Prix, in which our remaining 9 competitors face each other in the more exciting kart race of the season.
Ten laps of excitement and the chance to use the track's trap system turned the race into a real battle royale. Awesome curves, dirty tricks, and crashes were all over the place. At least these kids knew how to make an entertaining race.
And of the 9 competitors, only 4 crossed the finish line, being Duncan, Heather, and Brick, the ones getting the podium and the immunity. Surprisingly, the one going home was Charlotte, who this time was eliminated for good. And I'm glad because I could never understand what she tried to say with all that gamer mumbo-jumbo.
Now I need to prepare the reception for the next challenge. Meanwhile, what will happen with Cody and Lilly now without Charlotte? What will Brick ask from Duncan after voting with him last night? And will Heather's alliance be ok after what happened on yesterday's votation? Find out here in Total Drama Tyranny of the Masses.
It was already morning. He woke up after a nightmare. It wasn't all the time, but now and then, he had bad dreams. He couldn't remember exactly what happened in them, but he woke up upset and scared.
Then he stood on the bed like this, wondering about what was the meaning of those dreams. Regrets? Fears? Or maybe just a trauma? Either way, he couldn't avoid it. He stood up, left Mike and Cody sleeping, and went out. He then started to train near the river.
Yes, after his time in prison, he got used to waking up early and training his body. But he liked to look like he wasn't interested in that kind of thing in front of the cameras and the other contestants.
After finishing his routine, he took a shower and then went to find someone. They were already at the best 8. So far, his plan was working. It wasn't exactly as he planned, but not only Heather's plan was even better than he expected, but Courtney keeping a low profile worked perfectly. By now, the main targets were Heather, Brick, and … him.
Courtney, he was doing this for her, right? But what does he wanted? To compensate her because of what he did years ago? To help her because she's his old flame? Did he want something more? Whatever, the answer didn't mean anything. The only one who could take that decision was Courtney herself.
He was thinking about this when he found someone as soon as he left the woods. The delinquent was looking for the cheerleader, but talking with this person wasn't a bad idea.
Duncan looked at him. He was standing on the beach, barefooted and watching the sea. But his expression was blank, with no emotion on his face or sign of his usual goofy smile.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" shouted Duncan after sneaking on him, trying to scare him.
Mike jumped and suddenly turned back, throwing a punch against the delinquent face. Luckily Duncan was alert and blocked the punch.
"Hey I'm sorry, it was just a joke. There is no need to hit me like that," said Duncan jumping back and raising both arms.
And in an instant, something changed in Mike. He blushed and covered his mouth. "I'm sorry Duncan, you startled me, and it was a reflex. I didn't intend to punch you. Are you ok?"
"I'm fine, don't sweat about it," replied the delinquent, waving his hand that hurt a little after blocking Mike's hit. "But, do you punch people as a reflex? Man, you need to be careful with that. I don't want to be Red or your nerdy friend if you throw punches every time you're startled or surprised."
"It's not like that. It was just an accident. Please drop the matter," replied the spiky-haired guy, with a mortified expression on his face.
Duncan took a deep breath. "It was just a joke; let's change the subject. But if something is bothering you and you need someone to talk just tell me. We're both juvie birds, after all."
"NO!" shouted Mike. He then blushed again, making a weird smile. "I mean no, the one that went to juvie was Mal. Technically I'm not a juvie bird."
"Well, Mal used to be one of your personalities, right? It's not the same?" asked the delinquent scratching his head.
Mike looked at the sea, his smile fading. "I wish. Every one was a different person, with their own feelings, personality, and history. I merely have everyone's memories, but I'm not them."
"Sounds complicated," replied Duncan, not sure of what to say. It seemed to be more behind Mike's words than what he said.
But as they talked, Mike looked at Steve, who was waving at him. It seemed like Chris received his message.
"It really is, but don't worry about it," said Mike putting his hands on his pockets. "I got to go. See you later."
"See ya," Duncan waved at him and then went back to the cabins. He would need to talk later with Mike about this.
Confessional: Mike
"All this situation about the cheater stresses me out. I need to apologize to Duncan later, I acted like a jerk, and he just wanted to help. I wish Zoey or Amy were here. I know they could figure out something," said the thin man while holding his head with both hands.
Lilly was sitting in front of the girl's cabins. She ate breakfast with Cody but didn't join him when he went to play poker with Heather. Honestly, the Asian girl scared her.
Also, she needed some time to think alone. Charlotte was out of the game, and she now knew where Max's contraption was. She could just get it as he asked. BUT that would mean stealing from Cody. And also, she didn't want to keep cheating. What should she do?
"You seem really worried about something. What happened?" asked someone, sitting next to her.
"S-Sammy!? Oh no, n-nothing happened, don't worry," replied Lilly stuttering.
Sammy sighed. "C'mon Lilly, it's obvious something happened. Didn't my sister taught you to be more straightforward?"
"B-but…" Lilly doubted. Could she trust Sammy?
"Also, remember, I'm the nice one. You can trust me," replied Sammy, pointing at herself while smirking.
The treehugger looked at her with wide eyes and put her hands on her own head. "Can you read my mind?"
"No, but you're an open book. So stop thinking and start talking. What's on your mind?" asked the twin raising an eyebrow.
"It's just…" Lilly sighed. "I don't deserve to be here. I'm slow and dumb. I should have been eliminated in the team's phase. But somehow, I'm still here while better people like Amy, Jasmine, or Alejandro are out of the game. It's not fair."
Sammy made an effort to remain composed and put a hand on Lilly's knee. "Even if that's true, that isn't how this game works. They're out, and you're still here. It doesn't matter how awesome Amy was. She isn't in the game anymore. And she would be really angry if you just give up."
"I never thought you would say Amy was awesome," replied Lilly making a small smile.
"Really? We just reconciled, so I'm trying to not be so harsh with her," said the twin, scratching her cheek. "Anyway she would be angry and disappointed., And also you would make many people sad. Like your favorite Cody."
Lilly replied in a low and inaudible voice.
"He would miss you, trust me in this one," said Sammy, winking.
The treehugger blushed. "Thanks a lot, you're right. I have to make my best effort. For my friends and for Cody. I can't change the past, so I must make amends in the future."
"Yes something like that," replied the twin standing up. "Well, I have other things to do. But if you need someone to talk to, I'm here."
"Sammy…" Lilly was silent, trying to find the correct words. "thanks."
Confessional: Sammy
"Lilly needs to be more self-confident. She sometimes reminds me of the old Sammy, the one that was a pushover. That's why I can't leave her alone," said the twin, shrugging. "But even then, I won't let her win the million."
On the picnic tables behind the cabins, two persons were playing a poker match.
"Fullhouse! Now you own me 346 dollars," said Heather making a big smile. "only a little more, and I'll reach 350."
Cody groaned. "There must be some kind of trick. Did you mark the cards or something?"
"Of course not! How dare you to accuse me of something like that!" shouted Heather tossing her braid. "Also it's your deck, and you keep it after we play. I don't have time to mark it."
"You're right. I'm sorry, maybe I'm a little paranoic," said the brunette guy as he shuffled the cards again.
He began to deal with the cards as she smirked and spoke in a confident tone. "Talking about paranoic. Don't you think last night's elimination was weird?"
"How so?" asked Cody, who tried to dissimulate his interest.
"With our 4 votes and the vote of Charlotte, Mike should be the one eliminated," she then looked at her cards. "That means that even if all the others voted for Charlotte, and Charlotte voted for someone else, it would be a tiebreaker 4 vs. 4. Give me 2 cards."
Cody dealt two cards and then dealt 1 card for himself before replying, "but instead, Charlotte was eliminated without a tiebreaker. That means only 3 people voted for Mike."
"You're smart. That's why I love to talk with you," replied Heather smiling. "Which means someone betrayed our alliance."
"I agree with you. It was too weird. But how are you sure it wasn't me?" asked Cody. He then frowned at her, "Or maybe it was you, and you're trying to put me against Sammy and Courtney."
The Queen Bee looked at him with wide eyes. "Do you think I'm capable of doing something vile like that?"
"Actually yes, more than capable. You can be a real schemer when you need to. And I'll go with five dollars," answered Cody making a small smile.
"Your words hurt me, you more than anyone else should know. I won't betray my allies without reason," said Heather in an offended tone. "But think what you want. But as I was saying, you and I wanted to vote Mike, BUT Samantha and Courtney wanted to go for Charlotte." Her expression changed into a smile. "I raise to 10."
Cody frowned. "Ok, I agree with you. But even if they did. Does it matter? Do you want to confront them? Oh, and I fold."
"Great, and thank you, now you owe me 351 dollars," said Heather making a big smile. "But no, I don't want to confront them, but it's too strange they got so many votes. So maybe Courtney or Samantha had a second alliance behind our backs."
"A second alliance," Cody gulped because he was actually the one with a second alliance.
"Yes, so that means that if we aren't careful, we can be going home next time. Because if there is a traitor among us, we have only 3 votes, and they had at least 4 to eliminate Charlotte. So we need to somehow fool the traitor and eliminate them in the next challenge."
The brunette guy sighed sadly. "And you have an idea of how we will do that?"
"I have a plan, don't worry about it," replied the Queen Bee. "Now deal again, or you already give up?"
Confessional: Heather
"Samantha is too feeble to be the traitor, so it's obviously Courtney. Duncan probably fooled her again, so we need to get Mike and Lilly votes, and I know how to get them," said Heather tossing her bride. "I hate to work with the likes of them, but it's all for the million dollars prize."
Confessional: Cody
"376 dollars! I can't believe it," said Cody smacking his head against the confessional wall. "Anyway, I agree that someone betrays us, but Heather did the same to me, so I don't think it's so bad. It's just a game, after all." The brunette guy said as he smiled, but he didn't look happy.
In the DAM control room, Logan was working on his terminal. After yesterday's challenge, he had a suspicion and began to look at the data. As he suspected, there was something wrong.
Then someone entered the room. The chubby intern sat on his terminal, sighing.
"Hello Steve, working hard in tomorrow's challenge?" asked the young intern.
"No, I went to fetch Mr. Mike. He wanted to talk with Mr. McLean, so I guide him. He's such a nice fellow. I don't know why he decided to compete here again," replied Steve while accessing his account.
Logan made a smirk. "I don't know, but that million dollars prize is really tempting."
"Hahaha, that's true," replied the chubby senior, who then rubbed his chin. "But his girlfriend already won a million and gave him half of it."
"Maybe he wants to pay her the money she gave him," Logan shrugged, "And anyway, a million dollars is better than just a half. I would do it."
Steve chuckled. "You say that because you're new, just wait until-"
But the chubby intern was interrupted by the ringing of his desktop phone.
"Hello, this is Steve," answered the intern as he picked the call.
"Steve, take care of the challenge's preparations while I'm away," Logan could hear Chef's voice through the phone. "I have to go to long name island to get one of those kids."
The chubby intern nodded. "You mean mihtâtamowin yikâwiskâhk? I didn't know we would have a guest in this episode."
"You know Chris, he's the master of last-minute changes. So I need you and the rest to get the maze ready tonight, or you would have to put another all-nighter," shouted Chef in a menacing tone.
"We'll finish it on time . Don't worry. See you later," said Steve, who was sweating a lot.
Logan walked to the printer to get some sheets. "He sounded angry. You think we can finish the challenge?"
"I hope so. I'll be with the others to help finish the maze. Are you coming too?" asked the senior intern, standing up and adjusting his glasses.
"In a moment I want to talk with Mr. Mclean about something I noticed in the system," replied the young intern.
Steve shook his head. "Are you still looking into the anomalies in the system?" The chubby intern made air quotes in the anomalies part. "Didn't told you to stop doing that?"
"Yes, but this is important. Maybe with this we can catch the intruder," said Logan in an excited tone. "Let me talk with him about it, and then I'll catch up with you."
"Ok, but don't be late. I don't want to put another all-nighter," replied the chubby intern as he went to the hallway in the opposite direction as the young intern.
As Logan got closer to Chris's office, he began to hear voices arguing.
"What do you mean she can't be the hacker! It's obvious that Lilly's performance is full of weird happenings," said Mike in a harsh tone.
"I think you may be exaggerating," replied Chris shrugging.
"Yes? She answered Sammy's question in the quiz challenge, she found the grenades in the paintball challenge, she reached the summit without climbing during the snow challenge. And yesterday Lilly just lost the immunity because Brick didn't give up when his kart broke up."
The host chuckled. "Yes, I see you have built a nice soap opera, but without evidence, I'll not eliminate her. So unless you give me the machine she used to hack, I can't believe you."
"What? Are you letting her continue cheating?" asked Mike, slamming his hands against Chris's desk.
"If you damage it, you pay it," said Chris, glaring at Mike while putting his hands off his desk. "And you're just acting like that e-gamer. You seem obsessed with Lilly, but you aren't giving me anything concrete. So go out there and get me something."
Logan winced while looking at the Spiky-haired guy. His fists tightened, he clenched his teeth and glared at Chris in a way that gave the intern a shiver. Logan thought the former multiple Mike was about to punch the host.
But suddenly he stopped as if someone turned him off. He just sighed, his body relaxed, and his expression suddenly changed to one of disappointment instead of anger. "As you wish, Chris, but if someone else is eliminated because you didn't stop her, it'll be your fault."
"Yes, yes, don't worry about that," said the host rolling his eyes as the thin man leave the office. He then said under his breath, "Why all these contestants must be so emotional?"
"Sorry mister McLean. Do you have a minute? It's important," said the young intern, entering the room as soon as Mike was down the hallway.
Chris sighed and looked at his phone. "Ok, you have a minute. And I hope it's really important."
"It's, just look at this," said Logan giving some sheets with graphs and numbers. "Look at these bars. These are connections to DAM from the exterior."
"That's impossible, DAM firewall and general access are ciphered and secured with the best technology," said Chris while looking at the sheets.
Logan nodded. "But just as the kart incident yesterday, they seem to be multiple access smartly hidden as other types of connections. And they have been increasing since 25 days ago. I think there is something bigger than just the access you were talking with ."
"You were eavesdropping? That's not only unprofessional but rude. I expected better from you," said Chris shaking his head.
"I-I'm sorry, I just couldn't help it, as I was waiting outside the door," replied the young intern, mortified.
Chris chuckled. "I hope it doesn't happen again. But you just give me a lot of graphs and numbers, but they don't really tell me anything. Are you saying we're being hacked by an outside party?"
"No, it seems more that is someone inside the island," said Logan rubbing his neck. "I know it sounds far-fetched, but if you see the origin of the connection-"
"STOP! Even if you tell me I wouldn't understand a word," said Chris raising a hand to make him stop. "And be honest with me. How many people besides you know about this?"
Logan smiled. "At this moment, just you and me, Mr. McLean."
"That's perfect. Come with me, there is something I want to show you. I thought it wasn't relevant, but after talking with you, maybe it's related to the connections," said the host standing up. "Hurry up."
"Yes, but I hope it doesn't take a lot of time. I need to help with the maze," replied Logan rubbing his neck.
Chris chuckled. "Don't worry about that. It'll only take a moment."
It was a little after dark. She spent some time in the morning talking with Heather and Cody, and then decided to go away and write in her notebook. Heather was kind and polite. Either she didn't realize that Courtney betrayed her alliance, became a better liar after World Tour, or suspects Sammy instead of her.
It didn't matter to her. She wanted to sit in someplace away from everyone to order her thoughts. Yesterday she and Duncan agreed to vote Charlotte out. It seemed their plan work. But someone voted for her.
Who and why? Part of their strategy was that Courtney didn't appear as a threat and float until the top 5. But someone saw through their plan. That or Duncan lied, and he was planning to eliminate her.
Why Duncan? It was irrational, but she was still afraid that he was just using her and waiting to betray her again. Yes, he helped her, and right now, they had a strong alliance. But even then…
"Are you all right ma'am? You're doing a really scary face," said someone taking Courtney out of her inner drama.
She looked upward and forced a small smile. "Oh it's you Brick. I'm sorry I didn't notice you were there."
"I just arrive, so don't worry about it," he then sat at her side. "But what is the situation? Are you ok?"
"I'm fine, just thinking," lied the former CIT.
"I don't want to pry in your business, but you don't seem ok," replied Brick, looking seriously at her. "I may not be smart, but I'm a good listener, and you seem the type that bottle these things."
Courtney looked at him with a puzzled expression. Why you even care would be her old answer, but she was trying to not be that kind of person anymore. "Why do you want to help me? We're not exactly friends."
"Because even if we're opponents in the game, I think we're people first, and people should help each other," replied Brick making a big grin. "Also we did a great team in the animal challenge. Maybe we can beat whatever is tormenting you in the same way."
"I don't think so, but thanks," replied Courtney. He was really a weird man.
Brick nodded and looked at the sky. "You know, I always tormented myself about going or not to fashion school."
"You went to a fashion school?" asked Courtney raising an eyebrow, making an effort to not laugh.
"Didn't I tell you? I think even Chris mentioned one or two times?" said the cadet, who instead of blushing, showed a big smile.
She shook her head. "No, and if he did, I didn't think it was true. I just assumed he was messing with you."
"Hehehe, well it's true." He said, looking at her with a sad expression, "But it was always my dream. I love color theory, design, patterns. But I come from a military family, and I never thought of trying to achieve my dream. Until I competed in Total Drama."
"Are you telling me that the show changed your life?" asked Courtney, who couldn't believe him.
He nodded. "Not the show exactly, but competing made me realize that I wanted to live without betraying myself. I prefer to do things my way and failing than succeeding while betraying myself."
"It sounds like a hard choice. You'll fail a lot doing things like that," said Courtney, looking at the ground. She was shocked someone like him existed.
"I hear that a lot. But even if I fail I don't regret it," he replied, his voice full of confidence.
She sighed sadly. "And aren't you afraid of being betrayed for thinking like that? People can just use your naïve ideal against you."
"Yes, that can happen. But being betrayed isn't your fault, it's theirs. And also I prefer to be betrayed than to betray myself," said Brick who then blushed. "I know it sounds weird, but at least it works for me."
"I'm afraid of being betrayed again," she replied in a soft voice as if she didn't want to be heard.
The cadet scratched his head. "No one wants to be betrayed, but I think living without trusting is sadder. I prefer to trust and being betrayed to not trust again."
"You sound so silly," she replied showing an authentic smile. "But I can almost believe it."
"Thanks, ma'am. I assure you I mean everything I said," he replied, saluting. "And I know it's not much consolation, but you can trust me. I'll not betray you."
She made a playful smirk. "You mean you'll never vote for me in the game?"
"I can't promise that, but I assure you I'll let you know when that happens," he said, nodding.
"You're too much Brick," she said, chuckling. "Thanks."
He stood up and saluted her again. "Any time ma'am."
Then both went together to the mess hall. Courtney wondering about what strange fate let her meet someone like Brick.
Confessional: Courtney
"Brick McArthur is the weirdest person out there. In the past, I would think he was a great liar or an idiot," she said, frowning and rolling her eyes. But then smiled. "But he's right. I should listen more to myself and think less about things. Maybe being an idiot is the path to be happy."
The chopper of shame descended in the middle of the island. It was night already. Chef landed on the illuminated heliport more carefully than usual. If he damages the damn chopper, he would have to replace the elimination method with something weird like the canoe of shame, and the prospect of rowing all the way to the other island wasn't appealing at all.
On the place was Steve waiting for him and the guest of tomorrow challenge.
The Chubby intern smiled and bowed a little "Good Night Mi-"
"Drop the formalities Steve, did you finished the maze?" asked Chef glaring at him.
The guest waved at him. "Greetings Steve, you seem tired. Are you ok?"
"N-No, mister Hatchet, we have some troubles, and we still have to build one-fifth of the maze. So We were wondering if you can…" Steve's voice becomes softer and softer as he spoke.
Chef rolled his eyes. "Yes I'll go and help you useless maggots. I told you I didn't want to pull an all-nighter." He then looked back at the guest. "You go down that stair and meet with Chris, tell him we're busy so he would have to show you the way to your room."
"Don't' worry, and relax. Everything will be fine," said the guest making a smile and rubbing the big man's arm. "But isn't it better if I go with you and help you with the challenge?"
"A scrawny kid like you can't be of any help, so go down and rest. We need you ready for tomorrow's challenge," said Chef in a loud voice. But he was secretly grateful to them.
"As you wish, then let's talk tomorrow. Good Night Chef, and Steve," they said before walking down the stairs.
"If only all the other maggots were as polite," said Chef shaking his head. "now let's go."
As they went away, the guest walked into the underground facility. The place was dark, and it had a weird atmosphere.
"Welcome, I was waiting for you," said a voice at the other side of the hallway.
"Chris is that you?" asked the guest walking into the darkness. "Why is this place so dark?"
Then they meet, the eyes of the guest went wide. They didn't have time to realize what was happening.
The next day Sammy was training as usual. Her arm was better, and she stopped using the bandages. She was in the middle of her routine when someone greeted her.
"Good day Samantha. Don't you get tired of doing that every day?" asked Heather raising an eyebrow.
"Hello Heather. It's not so bad once you get used," she said, standing up and shaking the dirt off her skirt, "but I thought you used to be a cheerleader. Didn't you trained daily?"
She rolled her eyes. "That was when I was a student. There are better ways to build your strength and stay fit, but not with what you found in this hell hole."
"I'll not discuss that, but if I don't keep training, I lose my edge," replied the twin, shrugging.
"Anyway, I need to talk with you before tonight's meeting," said Heather looking at her sides to be sure no one was there. "For tonight's elimination, I want you to propose Duncan."
She tilted her head. "Duncan? Ok, but why me? Can't you just propose him yourself?"
"I already explained to you, it's better to take turns. It's the same as when we voted for Zoey," said Heather in an upset tone.
"Ohh!? Now that you mention it," replied Sammy putting a puzzled expression. "But what if Duncan wins immunity? Then I would look like an idiot."
Heather glared at her. "Then obviously we'll propose someone else, like Mike or Brick. Samantha do you have a problem with me? It's not like you acting like that."
"Sorry, I'm just a little stressed about the competition and wanted to make you smile," said the twin in an apologetic tone, looking at the ground.
"I know you're more confident right now after eliminating your sister, but don't be so full of yourself. We still need to win the game," said Heather in a kinder tone.
Then their conversation was interrupted by the voice of Chris Mclean, talking through the loudspeakers.
"Good Morning, Campers, please meet me at the Pahkitew chapel in the middle of the island for today's ceremony, sorry I mean challenge, hehehe," said Chris while laughing.
"Ugh, just as expected. I wonder if you get used to his awful voice," said Sammy walking toward the center of the island.
"This is my 5th season with that clown and you never get used to it, believe me," said Heather tossing her braid.
A few minutes later the eight remaining campers were all in the middle of the island, in the same location where Chef's circuit was two days ago. In their place was a huge chapel. In front of it was Chris dressed in his light blue tuxedo.
After looking at the chapel, many of the campers began to whisper among them.
"The chapel is just a movie set, right?" asked Courtney in an unamused tone, raising a hand.
"Please don't ruin the fantasy. We don't have enough budget to build a full chapel, especially because we didn't intend to use it in the challenge," said Chris, standing over a podium. "Anyway, welcome contestants to the happiest day of your lives."
Heather rolled her eyes. "Are you crazy? that would be when I win the million."
"I mean your happiest day so far," said Chris trying to keep his composure.
"That was when I met Cody," said Lilly in a low voice.
Chris glared at them. "Ok, stop whining. Today is the 6th blast from the past challenge, the weeding challenge! A fan favorite from the World Tour season."
There were some groans among the cast while Duncan and Courtney looked at each other awkwardly.
"How will the couples be decided?" asked Sammy, folding her arms.
"Are we doing the same lame challenges?" asked Duncan in a snarky tone.
"Why could you buy a racing track but not a chapel?" asked Cody raising a hand.
Chris took out an air horn and sounded it to make everyone quiet. "Stop right there. I'm about to explain all that. Except for the question about the chapel, just forget about it."
Cody snapped his fingers. He was really curious about the limits of the mechanical island.
"First, we'll raffle the grooms using our classic slot machine to give the challenge that nostalgic feeling," said Chris. As he talked, 2 inters pushed the huge slot machine into the scene.
"Which doesn't make sense because this isn't a casino on Niagara's fall," whispered Courtney to Duncan.
Chris just ignored them. "Then the couples would need to run through the eloping maze, a wonderful and fun labyrinth full of surprises."
"I can imagine the kind of surprises we'll find," said Mike, gulping.
"Once you exit the maze, you will have to share some intimate moments in the nuptial suite. In which you need to confess an intimate secret to your partner. To make it believable, it needs to be true and personal," said Chris while smiling impishly.
"How can you know if we're telling the truth?" asked Sammy, her voice trembling a little.
Chris winked at the twin. "We made these bracelets of truth. Once you put them, DAM will analyze what you said and evaluate if it's true or false."
"Like a polygraph?" asked Courtney, tilting her head.
"Exactamondo!"
"But polygraph tests aren't always reliable."
"I know you would say that. That's why we bring a guest star that will help us as an external auditor to the challenge. You know her, and you love her even if I don't understand why," Chris let the intern play a drum roll to increase the tension.
The spotlights pointed at a red curtain held by Steve and another intern some steps behind Chris.
"The Creepy aura reader, DAWN!" shouted the host as the curtains opened, but the place behind the curtains was empty.
There was a small silence and some whispers. Suddenly someone talked behind Chris.
"Greetings, it's a pleasure to be here today," said the small girl, startling Chris, who jumped scared.
The host glared at her. "STOP DOING THAT?"
"Doing what?" asked Dawn tilting her head.
"You know appearing from thin air."
"I don't know what you're saying. I have been here all the time."
Chris sighed. "Anyway, this little witch will help us to make sure the readings from the machine are correct."
"And what if the gremlin lies?" asked Duncan raising his hand.
Dawn made a small smile. "Don't worry, I never lie. And I'll do my best to warrant this challenge is fair."
"And why should we believe her?" asked Duncan raising an extreme of his unibrow.
"Because I say so. So if any of you don´t like it, you can retire and lose your immunity right now," replied the host, looking at all the contestants with a mocking smile. "All agree? Good, so let's continue."
The interns then took away the curtains while others pushed a screen, in which they could see 4 ropes attached to both sides of a ravine, over a lake.
"And after sharing an intimate moment, the groom will carry the bride through the nuptial tightrope. Just like in the good old times, the rope is over a lake filled with sweet water sharks. If you fall, you're out," said Chris pointing at the screen.
"Can the bride carry the groom?" asked Courtney raising a hand and looking at Cody.
The brunette boy glared back at her. "Hey! Even if I look like this, I can at least carry my bride across a gorge. Don't underestimate the Codemeister."
"Didn't Sierra carried you the last time, Codemeister?" asked Heather making a playful smirk.
Cody waggled his eyebrows. "That was too many years ago. I'm not the man who I used to be."
"Yes, of course, anyway we're equalitarian, so the bride can carry the groom if they want to," said Chris making a big grin. "But I have good news, to make the challenge easier for you, there is no need to clear customs. The first couple to reach the other way of the rope wins the challenge."
"Oh wow, thanks, Chris, you're so kind," said Mike rolling his eyes and using an unusual snarky tone.
Chris shrugged. "I know, now go and change. Once you're ready, the brides can start drawing their grooms."
Confessional: Sammy
"This is easy. My worst pairing would be Cody, not only because he's weak but because I feel more confident running with Mike, Brick, or Duncan. I basically have that immunity in my pocket," said Sammy showing a smug smile.
Confessional: Mike
He's looking at the ground with a serious expression. "Maybe they will pair me with Lilly. That way, I can try to make her confess that she cheated on the second part of the challenge," Mike said while rubbing his chin. "Darn it, I would really like to be in this challenge with Zoey."
Confessional: Courtney
"Niagara Falls? Really? It's as if Chris just did this to upset me," she sighed and then made a small smile. "But it's obvious who will be my groom, so I just hope that neanderthal does his best to win this challenge."
Confessional: Cody
"I don't care what they said. I can carry any of the girls to the other side of the rope. Just look at this," Cody then flexes, showing his small muscles. "See, ladies, I'm nothing like the old me."
Confessional: Heather
"I need to be with anyone but the delinquent. Yes, Brick may be annoying, but I don't care if we get the immunity together. And letting that stupid punk reach further in the game can be dangerous. I would prefer Cody or Mike though, but as long as it's not Duncan, anyone is fine," said Heather tossing her braid.
Confessional: Brick
"G-G-Groom? I'm not mentally ready to engage in his kind of mission yet," said Brick twiddling his fingers and looking nervous at the camera. "But if I have to choose, I would like to be with either Lilly or Courtney. I won't like to have a problem with either Alejandro or Topher."
Confessional: Lilly
She was with her eyes closed and her hands joined like praying. "Please let it be Cody. Please let it be Cody. Please let it be Cody,"
Confessional: Duncan
"If this is as random as it was the first time, we had it in our bag. There is no way Chris would avoid putting us together again," said Duncan smirking, he then ran his hand across his mohawk. "That only shows how bad I messed up our relationship."
The four men came out first, wearing black tuxedos. Cody's tuxedo seemed to be a little big for him. Mike's tuxedo was a little short and Duncan's looked weird with the green mohawk. Only Brick looked like a normal groom.
"Hahaha, you really look good," said Chris while laughing, "now please stand next to the slot machine so we can take a commemorative photo."
"What? Are you serious?" asked Duncan, who wasn't happy to dress like that.
Chris shook his head. "You're already on international tv, so who cares for a simple photo?"
The four men walked next to the slot machine. All sans Duncan were smiling as Chef put a professional camera in place to take the photo.
"Now, on the count of three. One, two-" and before Chris said three, the slot machine started to suck the contestants like a giant vacuum cleaner. In a moment, all of them were inside it. Only some muffled shouts and groans could be heard from the outside.
"At least you could wait until I took the photo," protested Chef while glaring at the host.
"Do you really intended to take a commemorative photo?" asked Chris with a puzzled expression.
Chef sighed but decided to not discuss with his narrow-minded friend.
Then the four remaining contestants went out of the dressing room wearing big and beautiful wedding dresses in white color. There were a few differences among them.
Lilly's dress was plainer and simpler, while Sammy had some elaborate and symmetrical patterns in the skirt. Heather looked like a princess, while Courtney's dress was a middle ground between Lilly's and Heather's.
Chris whistled, winking at the contestants. "Ladies, you look charming. As they said there's no such thing as an ugly bride."
"Can't you stop doing that? It's creepy and disturbing," said Heather, shuddering, the other 3 brides nodded in agreement.
"I throw you into sharks and you're angry. I tell you some compliments, and you're angry. I swear there is no way to make you happy," said Chris shaking his head and pinching his nose bridge. "Let's just take turns to spin the machine. Heather, you go first."
The Asian girl took a deep breath and pushed the giant lever. The reels began to spin, showing 4 symbols: a bell, a cherry, a star and a number seven. After a moment, the reels stopped at 3 bells.
The slot machine opened and from the inside came out Brick, landing face first.
"Ouch, that will leave a mark," said Chris while chuckling. "and our first couple are Brick and Heather. Congratulations."
Heather made an effort to smile. "It seems I'm lucky. Let's win this."
"Yes ma'am," said Brick, saluting, not dissimulating his disappointment.
"Aren't you happy of being my groom?" asked Heather in a harsh tone, giving the cadet a death glare.
He sighed. "I'm happy, ma'am. Just nervous because this is my first marriage."
"That's what I call a happy couple," the host didn't hide his excitement. "Next one is Samey. Go for it, girl."
She sighed. "It's Sammy, but now I'm sure you just do it because you're an idiot." She then pulled the lever, which stopped at triple seven.
From the machine came out Duncan, landing on his belly.
"WHAT? WHY?" shouted Courtney without realizing it.
Chris smirked. "What? Did you expect to be her bride again? It seems this time luck isn't on your side."
"Of I didn't want to. I'm just worried for Sammy who have to deal with that ogre," said Courtney, folding her arms.
"Hahaha, you really made a fine landing," said Sammy helping Duncan to stand up. "Are you ok?"
He cracked his neck. "Yes, I only hurt my pride. Let's win this cheerleader."
Both went to stand next to Heather and Brick, Duncan looking at Courtney through the corner of his eye.
"And this was a weird couple. Courtney, please make the honors," said Chris making a small bow.
She walked toward the slot machine, seeming calm but clenching her fists. She pulled the lever with more strength than necessary, which cracked a little before the reels began to roll. After a moment, they fell in the 3 stars.
From the machine came out Mike, falling in his feet.
"Wow, this is quite a coincidence," said the guy making a goofy smile.
"I just hope Zoey doesn't misunderstand this," said Courtney, who didn't seem bothered with her groom.
Mike chuckled. "I don't think she'll get mad. Probably."
They stood next to the other couples as Lilly run toward the machine.
"And as you guessed, we'll just put the leftovers together," said Chris making a mocking smile.
From the machine, Cody fell unceremoniously on his butt. As Lilly covered her mouth.
"A-Are you ok, Cody?" asked the redhead, walking to his side.
Cody made finger guns at her. "Of course I'm fine, but thanks for worrying." He then stood up as quickly as he could, shaking the dust from his tuxedo.
In front of the couples was a gigantic hedge maze. The walls were 8 feet tall, and among the hedges were some small white flowers.
"Ok campers, on the floor are tiles with the same symbol you got in the slot machine. That is the gate at which you get started. Lilly and Cody as you're stupid I'll remind you yours is the cherry."
Cody glared at him while Lilly just kept looking at the brunette guy in awe.
"Once you get started, you need to find the exit toward the just married hotel and enter the first open suite you find in the hallway. There you will have to face the second part of the challenge," said Chris waggling his eyebrows.
Courtney raised a hand, "What if-"
"No more questions!" shouted Chris, interrupting her. "Now GO!"
The couples then began to run into the maze as Courtney huffed. That jerk was as nasty as always.
Heather and Brick were running across the maze. The cadet was walking in the front with a serious expression on his face.
"I can't believe it! This challenge it's so silly and running in this dress it's a pain. I just wish we exit this as quickly as we can," said Heather in an upset tone.
But she wasn't only upset about that. Brick was silent from the beginning of the race and didn't reply to any of her comments. Was he still angry about the avalanche? Or maybe the kart competition?
"Ma'am," he unexpectedly began to talk, "I want to ask you a favor. Can you stop playing dirty in the competition?"
"What?" she was surprised by the cadet's sudden petition. "I don't know what you're talking about. I never did that."
Brick looked at her with a sad frown, "please, at least while we're in the same team."
She rolled her eyes. How lame could this guy be? But she needed him to win this.
"Ok I'll be on my best behavior," she said, crossing her fingers behind her back.
He made an honest smile. "Thanks. Now let's win this!"
The cadet run forward and step into a loose tile on the floor. At the same moment, a bee-hive fell from the wall crashing into the ground. A myriad of bees began to chase the shocked couple.
"Run!" shouted Brick taking off his jacket and trying to hit the bees with it. "I'll try to chase them away."
Heather was already running away without waiting for him. "Ok, I'll remember your sacrifice."
But as she ran away, the ground sank under her feet, revealing a pit filled with sour cream.
"Cough, cough. how disgusting!" shouted Heather. "Chris will pay for this."
The cadet's eyes sparkled, and he jumped into the cream-filled pit.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" shouted Heather after being splashed in more cream.
But Brick emerged smiling. "You had a great idea ma'am, look."
And as he said, the bees didn't come closer to the cream. It seemed they lost interest in them.
"I'm glad you thought this. But Won't the cream ruin your dress?" asked Brick with a puzzled expression.
Heather splashed his face with more cream as she went out of the pit.
Confessional: Heather
"I HATE HIM! If it was not for that stupid delinquent, I'd kick him out of the game," shouted Heather, hitting the confessional wall. Her hair and dress still have some cream over them.
On another part of the maze, Mike and Courtney were walking. Mike was in front, taking care of the traps.
"How you do that?" asked Courtney tilting her head.
"Doing what?" asked the spiky-haired guy.
"Finding the traps, so far you dismantle an egg gun, a tiger pit, and the cage with the boxing kangaroo. How you do that?" asked the former CIT, honestly surprised.
He made a small smile. "It's thanks to the memories of Manitoba. He was an outback survivor and knew to watch his environment for hints. I use those hints and find the traps."
"It sounds quite practical," said Courtney, making a fake smile, "but you don't seem to think the same."
"Why do you say that?" asked Mike, who then watched at something sparking inside the hedge wall.
The Latin girl looked at him with a frown. "Because you put a pained expression when you talk about your personalities. Did something happened?"
He was shocked and accidentally triggered the trap in the wall. Suddenly a stream of mud hit the couple, pushing them against the hedge wall.
"Puaj, Sorry my mistake," said the mud-covered groom. "I think some fell in my mouth."
Courtney stood up. Her dress was stained with mud, and her hair disheveled. She gave the spiky-haired guy a dead glare that made him shiver.
But after a moment, she shook her head and made a small chuckle. "Don't worry, I was just surprised."
"That's not true. You don't need to lie," said Mike standing up quickly. "If you're angry just say it, but it's not good to bottle it."
"I'M NOT ANGRY" shouted Courtney. She then covered her mouth. "Sorry, I didn't want to shout or glare at you. It's complicated."
Mike nodded and patted her shoulder. "I know there are things we can't just put into words. But if you find the words and want to tell me, I promise to do my best to help you. No one needs to suffer alone."
She stood there without knowing what to say. And just muttered a small thank you as she began to follow him again.
Confessional: Mike
"I know it seems hypocritical to tell her that when I do the same. But I mean every one of those words. I also hope one day to find the courage to say what it's inside my heart," said Mike rubbing his arm.
Lilly and Cody were walking through the maze, turning to find another dead end.
"Again!? This is the fourth one," said Cody snapping his fingers.
It was a problem. Using Max's contraption, they may find the way out of the maze or deactivate the traps. But there was no way he could use it in front of Lilly. Not because she didn't know about the device, but because he wanted to keep his image in front of her.
"Don't worry, this just means we can spend more time together," said Lilly humming joyfully.
Cody winked. "That's a really nice way to think about this. You're right. There is no use in being all negative. Let's keep trying."
They walked some more, and then Lilly's device began to beep again.
"Did you step into a trap," said Cody, afraid it could be a time bomb.
Lilly quickly pressed the button to end the call and took off the battery. She just hoped the device will turn on again later.
"I-It's seem it was nothing, don't worry about it," said Lilly making a wide and fake smile. She then noticed something.
The brunette boy shrugged and continued walking down the road, turning right again.
Lilly tried to warn him in her low and inaudible voice, but he didn't hear her.
After a moment, Cody found himself again in a dead-end.
"How complex is this maze! I can't believe we find dead end after dead end," said Cody holding his head with both hands.
The treehugger raised her hand timidly. "I think we have been walking in circles."
"What!?" asked Cody looking at her with a perplexed expression. "But that's impossible. I have been turning in a different direction each time."
"B-But there is something weird in the path," replied Lilly looking at the ground.
The brunette guy wasn't sure of what she was saying, but he decided to go slowly this time. And before he could enter the hallway, the ground began to move slowly. So slowly, he wouldn't notice it if he keeps walking without looking back.
When the hallway stopped moving, the way to the right was covered by a hedge wall while the wall at the left moved, leading to a new dead end.
"I can't believe it! We have been walking the same hallway all this time," said Cody while covering his mouth. "I can't believe I didn't notice it. Well done Lilly."
The redhead blushed. "I'm just doing what I can."
Cody took her hand and run in a new direction escaping the mechanical trap. Lilly just followed him smiling. Not answering the contraption was the right choice.
Confessional: Cody
"To be honest, Lilly surprised me. I have been with her during all the merge, but I never had the chance to be in a challenge together, and I must admit she is quite perceptive and positive. She just needs a little more confidence, and this Codemeister will help her to build it," said Cody making finger guns at the camera.
"I swear that once I die, I'll haunt you!" shouted the twin.
She was holding the delinquent hand, her heart beating so fast that she felt it on her chest. She was sweating and almost out of breath.
The delinquent in front of her was no better. He was also sweating and heavy breathing, but with a stupid smirk on his face.
Both were running as fast as they could, but for the twin doing it in the wedding dress was hard to say less. What went wrong for them to be in this situation? The answer was some minutes in the past.
*flashback*
"A maze full of traps. This will be a pain," said Sammy glaring at the hedge walls.
"Don't worry cheerleader, I have a plan," said Duncan smirking. "Just hold my hand."
She looked at his hand and, after sighing, grabbed it. Then he began to run at top speed.
"What are you doing?" asked Sammy with a shocked expression.
"Just outrunning the traps, this way, we can be out of here in a moment," said the delinquent.
*flashback end*
The plan sounded fine, right? Except for a little detail, the traps were following them!
Behind the couple were running a bear, a moose, 5 wolves, 2 seagulls, and some beavers, raccoons and squirrels, all growling, chirping, howling, and making some other angry noises.
"Shut up and use that energy to run," said Duncan. He didn't expect that all the animal-related traps were on their path.
But running with the dress was impossible after all and Sammy stumbled.
Ok I died. This was a less dramatic way to go than I expected, thought the twin.
But suddenly, Duncan grabbed her and continued running with Sammy at his back.
"Thanks," she said, still surprised.
"Don't talk, or you will bit your tongue," said Duncan, smirking.
But in the twin eyes, things weren't better. In fact, it seemed more animals joined the chasing party. Was that a baby seal?
Then Duncan began to breathe heavier.
"Damn, it seems I should stop smoking," he said in a snarky tone.
The twin rolled her eyes. "Great, now your addiction won't only kill you but will also kill me. That's why they said smoking is bad for your health."
But then they saw it, the exit of the maze.
"Run faster! We're saved," shouted Sammy, hugging him.
Duncan didn't reply, instead he made a last effort and ran as fast as he could, exiting the maze only a few steps ahead of the animals. As the couple escaped, a heavy iron wall closed their chasers' path.
The animals groaned and snapped their fingers in disappointment. They wanted to give the mohawk guy a lesson.
"Well done, at last one of your plans worked. I'm impressed," said Sammy making a big smile.
Duncan just winked, huffing. "Just hang with me, cheerleader, and I'll teach you a trick or two."
They laughed, and after a moment, they stood up and walked toward the first door. But the delinquent stood there without opening it.
"What happens? Are you ok?" asked Sammy tilting her head.
"Damn it, it's locked. Someone exited the maze before us," said Duncan frowning.
Then the image changed to Chris smiling at the camera, "and Duncan/Samey team exit the maze, but they aren't the first ones to reach the nuptial suite. Which team is in first place? Which secrets will they share in the intimate room? And can DAM and Dawn really detect lies, or it's just a psychological game? Find out after the break here in Total Drama, Tyranny of the masses,"
