Unlucky triple seven part 1
Last time on Total Drama, Tyranny of the Masses, we had our 6th blast from the past challenge, the Niagara wedding. This time the 2 part challenge became a 3 parter with our couples competing fiercely all over the place.
The campers had to elope through a maze, confess their intimate secrets in the nuptial chamber and then carry their bride (or groom) across a rope over shark-infested waters. You know, classic Canadian wedding. The first couple to reach the end of the rope would get immunity.
And the happy newlyweds were Courtney and Mike, so sorry Zoey, it seems he found someone better. And as the couple gets immunity, the big loser of the night was Heather, who after a harsh divorce from Brick was the one chosen to leave the island. I'll not miss her.
We're now at the lucky seven. And from this point, the challenges will become harder and harder. Will Mike find the cheater? How did Cody find out about Heather betraying him? And what is Courtney hiding from Duncan? Find out (or not) the answers to these questions here in Total Drama Tyranny of the Masses.
It was morning. He woke up early today. Before the show, his inner clock was great. He would wake up early every day, then after the team swap, he would wake up late. Now, after all that happened, he just wakes up. Relaxed and fresh.
He jumped off the bed and went to the shower. He took his shirt without thinking. At first, he was scared of getting nude because Vito would take control. Then after all-stars, he felt happy because he could undress without issues. Now a feeling of dread filled his body.
He ignored it and mechanically took a shower. His hair fell over his face, it was so long it covered his eyes or reached his lower neck if he let it fall behind his head. But luckily, he could style it in spikes which was a hairstyle more comfortable for him.
After some minutes, he finished and went out, dried his body, and got dressed again. He avoided the image in the mirror, not wanting to look at his expression. He then remembered Zoey's words, you're so cute when you smile. The memory forced a smirk on his face. She used to tell him those words all the time, but it felt like something that happened in ancient times.
He then began to clean up the cabin. Brick, Duncan and Cody weren't there, so he began to sweep and wash the floor. It was easier when Draman and Toph were there. It was funny because those good days felt like ages ago, the same as his time with Zoey and everything else.
Then someone knocking on the door took him out of his thoughts.
"You really enjoy cleaning the cabin. At least it should be easier now that there are only four men in the game," said the visitor smiling.
"Amy?" asked Mike looking at her with wide eyes, then he shook his head, "Sorry Sammy, I was distracted and somehow mixed you two."
She chuckled. "Happens all the time, you know, we're identical twin sisters. In fact, if my sis hides her beauty mark, it's almost impossible to tell us apart."
"It would be great to have siblings... I mean blood-related siblings," replied Mike, making a sad smile.
"Funny enough, a week ago I would say it's not that great, but right now I agree. Having a sister is awesome," replied the twin. She then gazed at him, "I don't intend to pry, but are you alright?"
He blinked a couple of times, "Yes, yes, I'm fine. Why do you ask?"
"You don't seem fine, you space out a lot and your smile is faker than Duncan's hair color," said Sammy sitting on a random bed. "I may not be my sister, but you can trust me. What's bothering you?"
"I-" the thin guy struggled for a moment and then sighed. "I'm fine, really. I'm just nervous because we're already at the top 7."
She tilted her head, "and since when do you care so much about the competition?"
"I always cared about the competition."
"Really, it seemed you just wanted to make friends and reach as far as you could."
"How do you know that?"
The twin scratched her cheek. "My sister told me. You were quite close and asked me to look after you."
"Amy did that?" asked Mike, raising an eyebrow.
"Ugh why do you need to doubt every second word I say?" She asked while pinching her nose bridge, "YES, she cares a lot and asked me to look over you because you're an idiot and get very worried by many useless things."
Mike nodded, "it really sounds like something Amy would say," he then frowned, "but they're not useless, they are just … complicated."
"If they're so complicated, then you may need help to resolve them," Mike looked distressed, so she decided to not press him too much. "Think about it."
"Thanks Sammy, I really mean it," said Mike, bowing a little.
"Don't worry, my sister's friends are my friends," said the twin, winking.
Mike's face darkened. "But I may not be the person your sister believes I am."
"Don't be silly, you're you, who cares about labels. You're the only Mike my sister knows," replied the twin standing up and putting a hand on his shoulder.
The spiky-haired guy took a moment to process what she said, and then he began to laugh. It was a strange laugh, loud and happy as if he had it bottled inside him. "Hahaha, you're right. I'm the one who is Amy's friend. The one standing before you is me."
"Well duh, that's obvious," said the twin, a little surprised by her friend's reaction.
He stood up and hugged her. "Yes, really obvious. But sometimes, you miss the tree in the middle of the forest."
Sammy blushed and pushed him away. "Yes, yes, I'm so happy, but you have your girlfriend, remember?"
"Sorry, I was just so happy," said Mike, his smile showing the gap between his teeth. "Thanks, Sammy."
"No problem. But if you want to thank me, I have a proposal for you," said the twin, who recovered her composure.
"A proposal?" asked the spiky-haired guy. "Yes, of course. What do you want?"
"I want to make an alliance with you and maybe Lilly. Are you still voting with Duncan?" She asked, smirking.
Mike was shocked. "Duncan? I never voted with him."
"Stop acting like that. Amy told me how she introduced him in the alliance the last day she was in the game. Are you still voting together?"
"Yes, we're still an alliance," he replied, rubbing his arm. He was shocked about how much Sammy knew. Maybe twins can really read each other's minds.
She nodded. "You know he's just using the alliance to advance in the game, but he cares for Courtney, so it's a matter of time before he cuts us off."
Mike remembered Heather's words and nodded. "You may be right, but even if we make an alliance with 2 votes, we can't do much."
"No, but if you talk with Lilly and I talk with Cody, we can eliminate him from the game," said the twin, looking at Mike's eyes.
"B-But I thought you and Duncan were friends," stuttered Mike looking at her with a shocked expression.
The twin nodded. "And we are, I really appreciate him, but I also want to win this game. What do you think?"
"Let me think about it," he replied, but her proposal was really good.
"As you wish," Sammy said as she walked toward the door. "Let's talk after tomorrow's challenge."
Mike sighed and waved at her. "You know, after your reconciliation, you just sound more and more like your sister."
"I know," replied the twin, making a radiant smile after leaving the cabin.
Confessional: Sammy
"Ok, I don't want misunderstandings. Duncan's my friend, and my sis and I owe him a lot. But I'm afraid if we don't shoot him down soon, he'll control the game. So sorry not sorry, but we need to eliminate you before the top 5," said Sammy nodding and folding her arms.
Behind the cabins, a lone guy was shuffling some of cards. He wasn't making ordinary shuffles but elaborate mage-like tricks like shuffling the whole deck from one hand to the other.
"Wow Cody, You're really getting good at that," the female voice distracted him, making him fail the shuffle and threw the cards into the air. "Sorry, let me help you."
"Courtney? You startled me. I didn't think you would come here," said Cody as he began to pick up the cards.
She made a small smile. "I thought I needed to clear the air between us as soon as possible."
"Why, because you betrayed our alliance and voted out Heather?" asked Cody in a neutral tone, picking the queen of spades.
"Yes, it wasn't fair, but…" The Latin girl tried to find the correct words, but she gave up. "but she deserved it."
The brunette guy raised an eyebrow, "She deserved it? So it was because it was fair to eliminate her, not because you want to win the million."
"Don't be like that. Of course, in the end only one can win the money, but I voted for her because she lied to me. She told us Alejandro cheated on her to gain my trust," said Courtney looking fiercely at him.
"Even if that's true, you could confront her before eliminating her, or at least you could talk with me before voting her out. It would be smarter to keep her until the top 3 and then vote her out," said Cody, who was now under the table picking up more cards.
"So you could betray me and vote with her? No thanks," replied the Latin girl, in a Courtney-like tone.
Cody rolled his eyes. "See, you don't trust me, and that IS the problem. You know how Heather is. She would throw us under the bus without a second thought. But the real problem is how can we keep voting together when you don't trust me."
"Sorry but you're really close to Heather, you would tell her about my plan to vote her out and vote for me instead," said Courtney in an angry tone.
"See? Again the issue is that you don't trust me," repeated Cody. "You know how Heather betrayed me in the quiz challenge. So even if she's my friend, I would vote for her if you asked me. But you didn't even try. And now you only want to clear the air to use my vote."
Courtney hit the table with both hands. "That isn't true! I really wanted to apologize. Who mentioned anything about voting together?"
"Please, you're kinder and politer than before, you're not the witch you used to be, but you're still Courtney. Winning is everything for you," said Cody as he picked up the last card, the ace of hearts.
The Latin girl's face turned red and she glared at him. "If you think that, then there is no use to keep talking. You're just one of those guys who love to judge others without looking at the mirror. Goodbye Cody."
She then turned away and left as fast as she could.
Was she crying? Thought Cody, who tried to chase her but was too late.
Confessional: Cody
"Did I say too much? Maybe, I'm a little upset about her voting Heather out, but I didn't mean to hurt her. Damn, I even wanted to keep our alliance if she just accepted to trust me," he rubbed his neck looking worried at the ground. "I'll need to apologize later."
In the afternoon, Duncan was sitting at the docks. He tried to eat with Courtney but couldn't find her, so he ate with the cheerleader and was now waiting for Courtney. Maybe she'll appear later.
As he was waiting, someone else greeted him. "Hello soldier, how are you today?"
"G.I. Brick! Meh, as good as you can be trapped in this crappy island," said Duncan smirking.
"C'mon, it's not that bad. We're already at the top 7, the weather is fine, the company is good, and we have free food. What more can a man ask for?" replied Brick, sitting next to him.
Duncan looked at him with wide eyes. "I agree with everything except the food. You can't call what Chef serves us food."
"Why? Chef's food is like a mix of oatmeal and purée. It's not that bad," said Brick smiling.
"I don't want to taste the oatmeal you eat at home," replied the delinquent, shrugging. He then patted the cadet on the back. "Really man, I never suspected you had such a hard life."
Brick frowned, "it wasn't that bad. Please don't make jokes like that."
"Hahaha you're still too serious G.I. Brick. You need to learn to relax. Just like me," said Duncan winking.
"Thanks soldier, I'll try, but I don't think I'm too strict. In fact I have relaxed a lot after leaving the military school," said Brick, making a small smile.
"Are you serious? Were you a robot or something like that back at your school? Because here you're always strict and never get a joke," said Duncan chuckling.
Brick rubbed his neck, not getting his friend's sarcasm. "I'm not joking. Back there, my only goal was becoming the best soldier I could and making my family proud, sacrificing myself and my love for fashion. My family comes for a long line of military men, and I just want them to be happy. "
For Duncan it was a surprise. He considered Brick a friend but didn't expect him to open his heart like that. Fuck, he was really bad at this kind of thing.
"And then I send my audition tape to the show. It was to test my military training. I didn't think they could throw anything at me that I couldn't beat. But my assertion was wrong," Brick continued, not noticing the expression on the delinquent.
Duncan nodded, "And then you realize your training didn't prepare you for this kind of madhouse?"
"Negative. In fact, I was more than ready. What I realized was that I was betraying myself. I wasn't living by my code because I was afraid to disappoint my family and friends." He looked at the sky and smiled. "But that's not the way a soldier should live. So I decided to be honest to myself and live my life according to my code."
"That's cool dude," said Duncan patting his shoulder.
Brick nodded. "Yes, thanks to Cameron's money, I could study in the fashion school. And I became the funny and relaxed guy you know. It sounds incredible doesn't it?"
"Hahaha, if you say so. But you can still work on the relaxed part a little more," said the delinquent, happy because Brick didn't seem to want advice.
"Well, I told you my story. Now tell me, why do you sometimes act like a jerk? You're better than that," asked the cadet looking at his friend's eyes.
Duncan almost fell from the dock. He didn't expect this. He just thought Brick was rambling and then asked him some kind of life advice. Not that he wanted to ask about him.
"Why do you think I'm not a jerk?" asked Duncan, trying to hide his surprise.
"Because I have the chance to share many missions with and against you during this show. Yes, you sometimes say harsh things or make rude comments and jokes. But you also help the people around you, like when you checked on Sammy after the team swap, rescued Topher during the underground challenge, or helped me after Alejandro was eliminated," said Brick while counting with his fingers.
"It's not like that," replied Duncan shaking his head, "Many of those were also for my own benefit. I'll do anything to reach my goal, anything."
Brick smiled. "And your goal is winning the million dollars?"
Duncan winced. He always thought Brick was a dork, but how much insight he had, or maybe he knew something else.
"Your expression tells me everything, soldier. See, even if you betray me, I know your objective will be a worthy one, not only the million dollars. And we're competing fair and square, so you won't use underhanded methods," said Brick standing up.
"That mentality will only get you eliminated," said Duncan chuckling.
The cadet shrugged. "I know, but I'll at least lose believing in my code."
Duncan laughed. Brick was a naïve and strange guy, but there was something that helped him to advance in the game. Maybe he should try to live like him and believe a little more in others.
Confessional: Brick
"I'm happy I reached the top 7. It's already better than my last placement at 9th. I know that I need to gain immunity after immunity to stay in the game without alliances and tricks, but I don't care. I'll do my best and lose on my terms," said Brick, saluting. He then rubbed his neck. "Well, that's if I lose because I'm planning to end victorious after this battle, you know, never say die."
It was the deeper part of the woods. Lilly was connecting the battery to her device. After her conversation with Cody, she was full of determination and wanted to talk with Max.
And as if he was watching her, the device began to beep when she finished connecting it. The treehugger took a deep breath and answered it.
"YOU SIMPLETON IMBECILE! How dare you ignore me, and worse of all, you lose the challenge. What were you thinking?" shouted the voice coming from the device.
Lilly shook her head. "I-I was with Cody and didn't want to answer your call in front of him."
"And for that reason, you lost the challenge. Do you realize how dangerous the game is right now and how close we're to winning this?" asked Max in a serious tone.
"I know but I couldn't, and also…" Lilly's voice became lower and fainter as she talked.
He sounded now even angrier, "TALK LOUDER! THE MIC CAN'T GET WHAT YOU ARE MUMBLING."
"I said I don't want your help anymore," said the treehugger in a normal tone."
"You ungrateful child! Do you realize that you are still in the game THANKS TO ME? Who helped you in the obstacle race? And to find the weapons in the paintball challenge? And to reach the summit of the ice mountain? Without me you're nothin-zzz," the voice in the device was so loud that it became distorted
Lilly shook her head. "You helped me a lot, and I'm grateful, but I'm tired of cheating. I want to do my best by myself to make him proud."
"Oh!? Lilly, are you telling me you're betraying me for that second-rate musician?" he asked in a shocked tone.
"He isn't a second-rate musician. On the contrary, Cody is the kindest and coolest guy out there," replied Lilly in a serious tone. "And I want to do my best at his side."
Max chuckled. "He's just using you."
"I don't care. Even if he just wants me for my vote, I'm more than happy to become a stepstone so he can win this game," replied the treehugger, frowning.
"Why? You owe me everything. Why are you so loyal to him?" asked Max in an upset tone.
She blushed. There was no way she could say it in words. "Sorry, Max, but It's the last time we talk in this game. Thanks and goodbye."
"Fine Lilly, as you wish. Just remember, you were the one who forced my hand. You will regret this," Max's voice turned creepy and robotic toward the end before finishing the call.
The treehugger dropped the device to the ground. "What was that? Did the speakers break down?" Lilly was trembling. That horrible voice was printed in her mind.
Confessional: Lilly
"I don't understand what happened, but I can't keep doing this. I prefer to take the risk and lose fair and square. I hope my friend can forgive me." Lilly then shuddered, remembering what happened.
It was past midnight, most of the campers were already sleeping, but he couldn't sleep. There was so much in his mind, especially after this afternoon, so he stood up and went out to walk.
But to his surprise, he wasn't the only one with insomnia. In the dock, he found another person. It was such a coincidence that he could only smile.
"Good evening Courtney, fancy meeting you here," said Mike waving his hand and smiling.
But his expression turned quickly into a sad frown. Courtney was there, holding her knees and looking with a sad expression at the lake.
"Oh Mike, I didn't expect to meet you here," said Courtney, her voice cracking.
The spiky-haired guy sat down, putting a hand on her shoulder. "You look terrible. What happened? And don't dare to say it's nothing."
"It's no-" she began to reply automatically and then chuckled, a sad and pathetic chuckled. "Sorry, and you just told me to not say that."
"Courtney, you have a problem. You're acting weird and not in a good weird way," he said, holding her shoulder tighter. "You don't need to suffer alone."
She looked at him, dejected. She seemed about to break at any moment. "Is there a way to be weird in a good way?"
"You know the answer, I'm an oddball after all," replied the spiky-haired guy.
The former CIT made another pathetic chuckle. "It's just… What happened…"
Mike listened to her as she struggled to find the words. It was painful to see her like that.
"Do you ever wonder if all your efforts are in vain? That it doesn't matter how much you work, you will never get what you want," asked Courtney in a cracking tone.
"Yes, many times. Especially this last year," replied Mike, his voice emotionless.
Courtney nodded, "You know, I'm a monster, just like my mother. I can't treasure my friends. I can't love them. I can only think about how useful they are to me."
Her lips began to tremble."But I don't want to be like this. I want to change, I want to improve, I want to love and to be loved. But is that possible? Aren't I fooling myself? Can people really change who they are? Even if I try to amend the damage, even if I give myself another chance at love, aren't I doomed to fail?"
Mike hugged her. It was at that moment he realized why she was so sad and why she couldn't share this with anyone else.
"Courtney, you're yourself. You aren't your mother." Said the former multiple Mike. "Of course, you can change and be a better person. But for that, you need to forgive yourself first."
"How can you be so sure?" Courtney's voice wasn't more than a whisper.
He pressed her against his chest. "Remember when you asked me what you should do once you realize your life was a lie? The answer is you have to forgive yourself and live your new life the best way you can. That's why I'm sure you can change."
She then began to cry. It was as if Mike had just opened a tap and her tears began to flow without control. The answer she was looking for was just in front of her. She just needed to forgive herself and live.
After some minutes, she calmed down. "Thanks Mike, Sorry you have to see that."
"Don't worry, I'm glad I could help you," he replied making a big grin that showed the gap between his teeth. "But please call me Mik. All my friends call me that."
"Ok Mik." She said smiling, then she stretched. "All this crying tired me. So I think I'll go to sleep."
"Ok, go ahead, I'm not tired so I'll stay here a little more," replied Mike winking.
The Latin girl nodded. "Ok, then I'll stay here a little longer."
"Don't worry, go to sleep. I'll go in a minute," replied the spiky-haired guy.
"Hehehe, you hate to be alone, and I don't mind waiting with you a little more. So consider it a token of my gratitude," she replied, sitting again.
Both stood there talking a little more and then returned to the cabins. He just hoped his words could help her to find her answer.
Confessional: Courtney
"Mik is completely right. I was just so afraid of failing that I didn't realize I'm just overthinking. I just need to trust my feelings a little more," She then smirked at the camera. "I just need to give myself another chance. I used to think I was really smart but I must be really dumb to not notice something so evident."
Confessional: Mike
"Courtney is really like me. She just wants to be happy and is afraid of what is hidden in her heart. But as Sammy said, we can only be ourselves, so there is no need to agonize over that. I just hope she can find the courage in her heart to forgive herself," said Mike nodding with a big grin on his face.
Sammy woke up in the morning and went to do her daily routine at the beach. She was tired, but there was no use in staying in her bed. Courtney and Lilly remained sleeping. It was weird there were only 3 girls in the show.
And as she went out of the cabin, she saw it. It was a big casino-like building with neon signs that spelled the word 'TOTAL DRAMA ROYALE.'
"A casino? Really? Does he remember Lilly and I are underaged, right?" asked the twin rolling her eyes.
She waited for a few minutes for the announcement, but it never happened. She went to the beach, did her routine, showered, and went to the Mess Hall. But the loudspeakers never make a sound.
"UGH! What is Chris waiting FOR?" exclaimed the twin while eating the eggs that Chef gave her as breakfast, as she was the most popular camper on the island.
"Don't be so angry, cheerleader. He probably is enjoying getting under your skin," said Duncan wiggling his unibrow.
She sighed. "That's the worst part of this game. I'm sure it would be a lot better if we had a different host."
"Hahaha, you know they're recording this, right?" said the delinquent, enjoying how the twin was flaming Chris.
"It's not like I'm lying. I just hate waiting," she said, pouting.
Then the loudspeakers screeched. "Good afternoon, dear gamblers, please come to the Total Drama's Casino Royale, the funniest and most exciting place on the island. At least for me," said Chris in his classic mocking tone.
"Well cheerleader, it seems he heard you. So let's test our luck," said Duncan, smirking. "Who was the lucky one, you or your sister?"
She smiled, "as unbelievable as it sounds, I, Sammy, am the luckiest one. I just hope I'm still as lucky as ever."
"I guess we'll find out right now," replied the delinquent, winking.
In a moment, they joined Brick and Courtney, who were also going to the casino. The former CIT looked at them with a small smile on her face.
"Good morning soldiers, It's a pleasure to see you joining our entourage," said Brick saluting.
"Yo G.I Brick, how unusual to meet you two together," replied the delinquent, raising a side of his unibrow.
Courtney answered in a cordial tone. "We met just outside the cabins, and we're going to the same place, so there was no reason to not go together."
"What a surprise! I was sure you would avoid anyone during the merge arguing we're all opponents," said the twin tilting her head.
"Hahaha, Sammy, you know me too well, but I didn't feel like avoiding him. Also we make a great team, right soldier?" said the Latin girl in a playful tone.
"Affirmative ma'am," replied Brick in a joyful tone, saluting.
Duncan lowered his unibrow a little and smirked, "Are you ok, Courtney? You seem different today."
"Don't worry, Duncan, I'm better than fine. I just found the answer I was looking for," she said as she showed a big and happy smile. Duncan didn't remember seeing her like that in a long time.
"And what's that answer?" he asked, raising half of his eyebrow.
She chuckled. "That's … a secret." She playfully replied and walked a little faster. "Now let's hurry. We don't want to be the last ones."
"I'm just behind you, ma'am," said Brick, who ran behind her.
Duncan and Sammy just looked at her with wide eyes.
"Do you think someone replaced her?" asked the twin, chuckling.
"Don't worry, cheerleader. She's Courtney, the same old Courtney," said the delinquent, rubbing his neck and then running. "Now hurry, or you'll be the last one.
"Oh c'mon, we're too old for these games," groaned the twin as she ran after them.
The 7 remaining campers were inside the lobby of the elegant Total Drama Casino Royale. The place looked gorgeous, with gold-painted chandeliers, old portraits of Chris McLean, and a big fountain in the middle. The floor tiles are painted to look like a red carpet and there is a luxurious golden stair at the bottom of the room. The wallpaper showed people playing in slot machines and cheering at a tv screen.
In the room were 3 interns including Steve wearing black suits with red bowties. And at the top of the stairs was Chris in a white tuxedo with a cane and a top hat.
"Welcome, dear campers and congratulations, you reached the top 7 in the 7th season," said Chris, opening his arms.
"Wow, what a surprise, thanks for telling us," said Duncan, smirking.
The host ignored him and began to walk down the stairs. "And as you know, from now on, the rule of saving the most popular camper is abolished. Now every player who is eliminated will be gone for good, DAM won't save anyone."
"Was there a rule like that?" asked Sammy, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, but it was never used," replied Courtney rolling her eyes.
Chris hit the floor with his cane. "It isn't my fault you never voted for the most popular! So yes, the rule was there but isn't there anymore."
"So basically nothing changes," said Mike, nodding. "So this announcement is just a waste of time."
"I can't understand why everyone is so rude and negative. I almost regret planning this challenge just for you," said Chris shaking his head. "But I'm quite generous, so to celebrate your achievement, we'll hold this challenge here on the Drama Royale, the best casino on the island."
Cody chuckled and whispered, "And also the only casino on the island, that made it quite easy to be the best one."
"Now let me introduce you to today's challenge, Lucky-777," said Chris, who then made some tap moves and pointed at the right entrance of the room.
From there entered Chef. He was wearing a sparkling purple dress with long gloves and was pushing an object covered by a white sheet.
Once in the middle of the room, he took off the sheet, showing a board with seven icons.
"The seven of you will compete against each other in 7 different challenges," said Chris raising his arms. "The worst player will be eliminated after each challenge. The last one standing will win immunity in tonight's elimination. 7 challenges for 7 competitors in the top seven of the competition for a lucky 777."
"But that's impossible," said Courtney in an annoyed tone. "In an elimination format, we'll only compete in six challenges, not seven.
Chris looked at her in disbelief. "Chef, come here for a moment."
The big man walked, and both began to whisper among them.
"It seems I need to fire another intern," said the host, shrugging. "Well, the seven of you will compete in six of these seven challenges. The last one standing will win the immunity. 6 out of 7 challenges for 7 competitors in the top seven of the competition for a lucky 777."
"Are the challenges dangerous?" asked Lilly while gulping.
Chris winked. "Oh my dear, of course they are. This is Total Drama. We can't have boring challenges, can we?" He then put his cane under his chin, with a thoughtful expression. "Well maybe we can have a boring one, but let's forget about it. For now let's get started."
Chris then walked toward the left entrance of the room, followed by the seven campers.
First game: Speed Baccarat.
The room was huge, with the floor divided into many square zones. Half of them had the label player, and the other half bank.
"Welcome players, the first game is Speed Baccarat, please be ready to make your bets," said Chris in a mocking tone.
Sammy raised a hand. "What's Baccarat?"
"One of the most popular casino games in the world, c'mon, a little general knowledge," said Chris rolling his eyes.
"I also don't know what baccarat is," said Lilly raising her hand.
Courtney nodded. "I know the game but don't know the rules."
"I'm not fond of casinos or bets in general, sir," said Brick, saluting
"And you, Zoey's boyfriend, you know the rules?" asked Duncan. He and Cody knew the rules.
"Yes, Mal really had a lot of general knowledge of this kind of thing," said Mike rubbing his arms.
Cody made finger guns to Courtney and Lilly, "Don't worry, it's not really that hard. You have a dealer-"
"ZIP IT CODY! We won't use the normal rules anyway," said Chris, the brunette guy glaring at him.
"Chef will draw 4 cards and split 2 for the player and 2 for the banker. The one getting closer to the nine wins the game. You will bet for either one or the other while standing in the zones marked as either banker or player. There are 200 zones around the room, 100 of each one," explained Chris while tapping one of the zones with his cane.
Duncan interrupted him, "And the ones in the wrong one lose the game? This will be quite fast."
"Hahaha, no. If you're standing in a loser's zone, it will fall. If you have quick reflexes, you can save yourself. But zones that fall will be lost for the rest of the game. Also, there will be some nasty surprises down there depending on the tile," said Chris laughing.
"What if there is a tie?" asked Cody raising a hand.
Chris smirked and twirled his cane. "Then all the occupied tiles will fall. So you need to think and jump quickly."
"And what if more than one person fails the challenge in the same round?" asked Courtney.
"Then everyone will be eliminated, and we'll have the shortest challenge in total drama story," said Chris laughing. "If everyone falls, which should be impossible, I guess we can bring everyone here and play another round, but please try to not be so useless."
There was some tension in the room. Sammy and Mike stretched their arms and legs while Lilly looked nervously around her.
"Ok let's get started, quickly stand in your zones." Said Chris while exiting the challenge zone.
The campers then began to choose different zones. Lilly, Brick and Sammy stood on player while Mike, Courtney, Cody, and Duncan stood in banker.
But Duncan stood in the same zone as Cody.
"Ehm, I was here first," said the brunette boy rubbing his neck nervously.
"I know. But you seem so lonely that I thought you would like a little company," said Duncan, smirking.
Cody squinted his eyes at the punk. "You aren't thinking of pushing me down, are you?"
"Do you think I would do something like that?" replied the delinquent in a hurt tone
"I don't think so, I'm sure. It's the kind of person you're," said Cody, folding his arms.
Duncan shrugged, "If you're so sure, then just be careful. Maybe you're right."
Cody then moved to a different banker zone, but Duncan followed him. Now he wasn't sure if Duncan really wanted to eliminate him or was just bothering him because he's a jerk.
But as this drama happened, Chef began to deal the cards. On the banker side was a 9 and a 9, and on the player side a Queen and an ace.
"8 vs 1, it's a natural, the Banker wins," said Chef in a monotonous tone.
Suddenly the occupied player's zones fell. Sammy jumped graciously, but Brick almost fell into the hole after doubting for a second.
"Awesome, there are still 197 zones left," said Chris chuckling, "Now let's increase the difficulty,"
"Ehm, Chris," said Chef rubbing his neck. "Stop, it's over. One of those maggots already lose the challenge."
Chris looked at him with a dumbfounded expression. "What! It can't be! We haven't even turned on the lasers."
But as Chef said, only 6 players remained in the room.
Sammy ran and crouched next to one of the holes in the floor. "LILLY, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?"
She cupped her ear and nodded.
"Is she alright?" asked Mike crouching next to the twin.
"Yes, she said she fell in water, and there are no sharks," replied the twin, giving a thumbs up.
Mike tilted his head. "I didn't hear anything."
"Ugh! It's because she always talks so low," she replied rolling her eyes. "But don't worry, she's ok. So let's focus on the next game ok?"
The spiky-haired guy nodded and followed her. Then he realized something, but it was impossible, wasn't it?
"Ok the game is over, and Lilly is out," said Chris in an upset tone, "Now, please follow me to the next floor, the next game awaits."
From the side of the room appeared a long and beautiful golden stair. The six remaining players went up while the interns rescued Lilly and guide her to the loser's room.
Confessional: Lilly
The redhead was looking disappointed at the confessional's floor. "I can't believe I messed up at the first jump. Maybe I should ask them to repeat the rules of that game before playing. I mean, I didn't believe an Ace and a Queen would lose. Ma… My friend is surely laughing at me right now."
Second game: Ballistic Craps
On the second floor was a huge craps' table. It was big enough for at least 10 people to go into it and walk around it comfortably. At its side was a huge cannon, like those used in old cartoons.
"Welcome players to this evening's second game. Please, before standing at the table, put on these beautiful collars," said Chris, giving some thick metallic collars to each camper.
Duncan groaned, "Metal collar? Do you have it in blue to match my eyes?"
"Duncan, stop whining. You'll look handsome all the same," said Courtney, winking.
The delinquent blushed and stuttered, not knowing how to reply, while Sammy and Cody laughed at him, even Brick chuckled. Meanwhile, Mike looked at her with a proud expression.
"Ok stop laughing. This is a serious game," said Chris clapping. "The rules are simple. One of you will be the shooter, and the rest will be on the craps table."
As Chris said that, he pressed a button, and the craps room was surrounded by four 10 feet tall walls.
"The player outside will shoot two giant dice at the table, which will bounce around the craps table. Try to not get hit by them because there is a surprise if they touch you," said Chris laughing.
"It's easy to imagine the kind of surprise looking at his creepy face," said Mike loud enough to be heard by Chris.
The host cleared his throat. "If the shooter rolls a 7 or an 11 they're safe and out to wait for the next game of this challenge. If they roll any number except 2,3, or 12, they go into the table. Either way, a new shooter is selected."
"What if the shooter rolls craps," asked Sammy raising a hand.
"Wow Samey, you know about casino games. I'm surprised," said Chris, winking, "I thought you were the lame-y of the sisters. Anyway, if the shooter rolls craps, the game is over, and they're eliminated."
Sammy glared at him but didn't say anything. Meanwhile, Cody raised a hand, "how will we decide who will be the first shooter?"
"DAM will decide among the players who haven't shot yet randomly. But thanks for asking, you can go first," said Chris smirking.
Courtney stomped her foot. "What? Why is he rewarded for asking, and I'm berated each time I open my mouth?"
"Because your questions are silly, and I don't like you," replied Chris shrugging, "Now Cody go and sit at the dice cannon while the rest get into the table."
The former Latin girl was mumbling. "That jerk, I swear I'll sue him for psychological abuse."
"Don't get angry, ma'am. I'm sure it's not enough relief, but I consider your questions really clever," said Brick, saluting.
"Thanks, Brick, it really helps me," said Courtney putting her hands behind her back and smiling. Duncan gazed at her without saying a word.
Cody sat in the cannon, which was raised over the wall. He could aim at any place inside the table, including the walls.
"Ready? Fire at will," shouted Chris.
The brunette guy thought about shooting at Duncan, but then decided to shoot the wall instead. There was no use in being petty.
The dice went and rebounded against the wall as if they were made from rubber. They were huge as basketballs and flew quite quickly.
One of the dice went towards Sammy, she avoided it by crouching, but it rebounded against the wall behind her and hit her in the leg. The impact wasn't that hard, but she felt a strong electric shock from the collar.
The other dice went for Mike, the guy smiled and made a cartwheel avoiding it. The dice rebounded and flew at Brick, who stumbled but luckily let it pass over him, hitting Duncan. A blue electric arc crossed from his ear to his nose piercing as he was shocked.
"It's an eight," said Chris in a mocking tone. "Cody, into the table, Duncan, you're the next shooter."
The brunette guy jumped into the table, making a sheepish smile. "It was an accident, no hard feelings man."
But Duncan was glaring at him, smoke coming out of his body.
"You're in trouble," said Sammy, her hair disheveled after the shock and also glaring at him.
The delinquent sat at the canon and was raised like Cody a moment ago. He felt a little petty but decided to shoot both dice against the brunette guy.
The big rubber dice flew quickly from the cannon. Cody was waiting for them, so he awkwardly avoided them, arching his body like in limbo for the first shot and jumping on one foot to avoid the second.
But the dice rebounded and flew at Courtney, she avoided the first one, but the second bounced against the floor and hit her in the butt. She glared at Duncan as she was shocked.
The other dice-ball went towards Brick, who surprisingly jumped over it. In the end, the dice lost momentum and fell without hitting anyone else.
"Wow a 7. After attacking Courtney our delinquent is the first to advance to the next game, nicely done," said Chris chuckling. "Also, Samey, it's your turn at the cannon."
Duncan facepalmed, he just hoped Courtney realized it was just a small accident, but the expression on her face showed otherwise.
Meanwhile, Sammy got ready to shoot. "Samey, Samey, Samey. It's a shame I can't shoot that jerk in the face."
She pointed at a corner and made her shot. The dice flew, hitting the walls. Mike avoided them with some pretty gymnastics moves while Courtney, with her hair standing, just jumped out of the way.
The dice then flew against Brick and Cody, who crashed against each other when they tried to avoid them. They weren't shocked but both got a bump on their foreheads.
"It's four. Bad luck Samey, Brick is your turn at the cannon. Show us what you're made of, soldier," said Chris mocking a salute.
But the cadet didn't realize it wasn't serious and returned the salute. "I'll do my best sir." He then pointed at the nearest wall, hoping the dice would lose momentum quickly.
Sadly, Brick failed his physics classes, and the dice went with more momentum after the first rebound because it was closer to the cannon. One of the dice went directly against Sammy, but Courtney pulled her out of the way. It then rebounded and flew at Mike.
At the same time the second dice flew at Cody. "Again?" protested the brunette guy, just avoiding it at the last moment with a big jump. The dice then rebounded and flew against Mike.
The former multiple Mike just saw both dice coming at him, and even if he avoided both with a small jump and a split, one of them rebounded and hit him in the head, shocking him.
"It seems like the end of my luck strike," said Mike, who then had a hiccup and a blue electric arc crossed his body. "Damn electric shocks, in my time, they would use something natural, like cold water." He was so dizzy that he didn't notice the numbers in the dice.
"It's a 3, craps! Sorry soldier, you're eliminated from the challenge." Said Chris in a mocking voice.
Brick groaned and lowered his head as the rest of the campers celebrated.
Chris enjoyed the atmosphere. "Now, for our next challenge, we'll remain on this floor." He pressed a button in his remote, and the giant craps table disappeared into the floor. Letting behind a smaller table with seven chairs.
Cody's face beamed at the spectacle, making a huge smile that showed the gap between his teeth.
Confessional: Brick
"It's not a surprise, in my class, I won the award for the most friendly and also the most unlucky. One day my bunker broke down, the floor under my bunker also broke down, and then I fell in a river and went down 2 km. But that isn't bad luck. It's just a normal accident. Right?" said Brick rubbing his neck nervously.
Third Game: Itchy poker.
Replacing the craps table was a normal-looking poker table. At the head was Chef, wearing a white dress shirt too small for him with a red bowtie, red gloves, black pants, and a red vest. He was grinning and shuffling the cards.
Cody didn't try to hide his happiness. THIS was his challenge.
"Ok campers, everyone except Brick sit at the poker table. We have a very special game prepared for you," said Chris, smirking.
Brick was escorted by the interns to the losers' room. Inside he waved at Lilly, who was looking intently at the screens with the players.
"Tough luck Brick, but nice play," said Lilly in a polite tone, only looking away from the screen for a moment.
Brick saluted. "Thanks ma'am, I'm happy that I tried my best." He winced after touching his bump with the salute.
In the room, the remaining players were sitting in front of Chef. Chris was standing behind him, smiling.
"Welcome players, this game is itchy poker. The rules are the same as conventional poker. But as everyone knows them I'll skip that part," said Chris twirling his cane.
Sammy interrupted him. "I'm soooo sorry, Chris, but I never played poker before. Can you explain the rules?"
"Are you mocking me? There are a lot of rules, and we're almost out of time," said the host, pinching his nose bridge.
"I'm sorry, I never learned to play. My evil and mean sister never let me," said Sammy in a sad tone.
"Grrr. Ok pay attention," said Chris, and he explained all the rules. "Five cards are dealt with 1 change, and the objective is to form pairs, thirds, straights.." Even trying to make haste he took several minutes to cover it all.
Cody whispered to her. "Didn't Heather teach you how to play poker?"
"Maybe, but I just want to annoy him," replied the twin, showing an evil smirk.
Mike paid attention to that exchange. He then made his own smirk. Meanwhile, Chris finished his explanation.
"So for this game, each player will have 100 chips. The game is over when one of you is out of chips. BUT try to make as many chips as you can, as they will be important in the next game," said Chris glaring at the campers. "Now I don't care if you have any more questions. We're starting now! Chef deals the cards."
Chef smiled and began to give them the cards. "Remember, there is only one change, but you can exchange any number of cards. And don't try anything funny at my table or your face will look funny after I finish with you."
Duncan and Mike chuckled while Cody gulped. Everyone took their cards, but as soon as they touched them, they began to feel an itchy sensation in their fingers.
"What is this? Itching powder?" asked Courtney, glaring at Chef.
"Exactly Courtney, it seems that CIT training paid off," chuckled Chris. "In itchy poker, the cards are covered in itchy powder to make it more interesting. Please try to remain calm, don't touch your face or eyes, and remember if you drop a card and the other players see them, we'll still continue with the game."
"Because we can't just have a normal and exciting poker game," said Cody, using the sleeves of his sweater to take the cards.
"Hehehe, you seem too confident in your skills, Codemesiter," said Duncan, smirking while trying to endure the itching sensation.
Cody winked. "Maybe a little."
They began to play. It was obvious everyone had some kind of experience. Chef was surprised because he expected more amateur players. But they were quite good, especially Cody. After the first games, he was at 140 points, while Duncan was at 70 and Mike at 80.
Duncan smirked, "I thought you didn't know the rules, cheerleader."
"What can I say? I'm a fast learner," replied Sammy.
Courtney was also doing quite well, but she made a mistake and scratched her hand. Now she needed to scratch again now and then.
But she wasn't the only one. As the game advanced, they all accidentally scratched their legs, arms, and hands. It was basically impossible to read the opponents under these circumstances.
"Chris must be some kind of sadist inventing a game like this," said Mike, scratching his arm.
"But that isn't something new," replied Cody, while changing 2 cards.
The spiky-haired guy nodded. "I know, but I hate when he does these kinds of things to remind us how twisted he is."
After 10 hands Cody was comfortably at 170, Courtney at 140, Sammy at 120, Mike at 50, and Duncan at 20.
"FUCK, this game must be rigged or something," said Duncan throwing the cards angrily at the table.
"Language, we're a family show," said Chef glaring at him. "Are you saying I'm cheating?"
Duncan rolled his eyes. "Whatever, I give up," he then slammed his fist next to Courtney and stormed out of the room.
"You can't give up! You still have chips," shouted Chris in an upset tone.
The delinquent just flipped the bird at him and went down the stairs toward the losers' room.
"I really don't understand why he's so popular," said Chris shrugging. "Ok everyone, follow me to the next floor, where we'll have the next challenge."
"Yes but, can you give us something to wash the itchy powder?" asked Sammy while raising a hand.
"Yes, I didn't expect you to be so delicate," said Chris, as Chef gave them a bottle with a liquid to clean the itchy substance.
After washing their hands, the 4 remaining campers followed Chris, Courtney staying behind to talk with Cody.
"You could win in 4 games, but you preferred to go for Duncan. Were you gunning for him?" asked Courtney, looking serious at Cody.
The brunette guy rubbed his neck. He didn't feel any hostility from Courtney. "Was it so obvious? I think it was for the best to warrant he didn't get immunity this time."
"That's pretty clever. Maybe we should talk about it at tonight's meeting," she said smiling.
Cody nodded, and then both followed the rest to the 3rd floor. The brunette guy didn't notice the expression on his ally's face.
The next floor was a big room, filled with slot machines, at least 100 of them. Chris looked at them opening his arms.
"Welcome to the fourth game of the day. I hope you got your coins because it's time for the amazing, incredibly boring slot machine parole," said Chris in an excited tone. "Which we will explain after the commercial break. Stay tuned. We will come back soon. This is Total Drama, Tyranny of the masses."
Author Notes:
And 3 players are down and there are still 3 more games. What will be the last games? Who will win the immunity? And who will go home? Find out in the next episode of Total Drama Tyranny of the masses.
And we are at the top 7, and I couldn't help but make it a casino challenge. In the series, the multi-part challenges are my favorites, so making 6 games was too tempting. Also it seems some plotlines are closing to their end, I wonder what will happen next?
Immunity idols left: all used

Eliminated: Cameron, Jasmine, Max, Lindsay, Dawn, Jay, Lightning, Charlotte, Beth, Cody. Zoey, Dramaman, Shawn, Alejandro, Sky, Topher, Amy, Charlotte(r), Heather
