Part 12 - The Trial Filled With Drama
April 30th came around, and Bella and Paul had their son sleeping in a wagon at the first day of trial. Afterall both were there to witness their take on things that happened the day aswell what lead up to the murder too. And the twins did not know still to this day what had happened to their father, nor what lead to his murder, so they sat glaring at the ground, and not at Charlie himself at all, as he was lead inside all shackled and in orange suit to the front of the room, to witness chair. After being read his rights again, and that he was not yet convicted of said murder, he was still suspect of it, and he nodded agreeing to that at least.
After that, the judge called;
"Mrs Isabella Molly Lahote, please come forward." Bella gulped but stood up after Paul given her a hug and kiss, and left her son in his arms, still sleeping like nothing could wake him for now. Bella took her seat, avoiding to even look at Charlie or at the twins, who seems to glare at her for some reason now. The judge then said
"Will you tell the truth, and only the truth today, Mrs Lahote?" Bella was standing holding a hand up, as she said
"Yes, I will do so, your Honour." At that he nodded satisfied for her answer, and she was able to sit down, and the lawyer of Charles began to ask her questions, as he asked
"You were up to early october last year to believed to be my client's daugther?"
"Yes, but after my mother being all drunk and high, she told me that Charles Swan was not and could not be my father, as she had learned through an accident that he was infertile, as he could not father any children, and she then had cheated on him, with the victim of his."
"So William "Billy" Black was your father in reality?" Bella nodded, as she pulled out a paper for him to see, and it was her paper of the DNA being tested and matched to said victim, and the lawyer took and the jugde also got to see it, while the twins' were in shocked anger, as the lawyer said
"Why did you not tell anyone about what had happened the night of late Sarah Black?"
At that the twins were even more shocked, when Bella told the whole room of what she knew had happened as she was there, and when the two men took notice of her being there and had heard the discussion, they threatened her with rape and being murdered if she ever told anyone, so for years she kept quiet terrified for her life. But last year, she had enough of being a victim and afraid of Charles Swan and Billy Black's threat on her, and went to FBI, and the two were also in this room today.
"And the night of Mr William "Billy" Black, what happened?"
Bella told them what had been heard and that men around the table as she made the dinner for everyone that evening, took off and soon Joshua Uley, her new father, came back with a bleeding James Cameron, father of Jared Cameron, a friend of her husband and big brother. After they learned about what happened, Bella did not feel any sadness that her biological father had been killed, for he never claimed her as his daugther after he too had learned the truth of the same papers that she given them to look at today, and also for her fear of the two men was over now too. For she knew that Charles was going to get what he deserves from that day on.
She was then let go, and Paul and others were called forward to witness stand, and Bella also provided at the end of it, a letter that she sent to Paul and it content of the said murder and accident of Sarah Black, and what state Billy Black had been in that night when Sarah was killed and himself wheelchair bound for rest of his own life until his murder of Charles Swan. Charlie was pissed off and sat in anger, while all this was revealed and talked about. His downfall became the recording of that night that Bella had done without their knowlegde, and his voice and Billy's voice on the tape, was all that the judge needed to hear, and after an hour of defib, he came back with his jurors, and they all together made the decision to send Charles Swan to life time jail without any possible parole.
And that made many cheer in happiness of these news, while the twins and Jacob sat in shock of what had been revealed and what Charlie their godfather had been convicted with.
After a while longer, they were let out of the courthouse, and to go back home. Bella was just happy that he was finally convicted of the said murder of Billy Black, and accessory of Sarah's death being ruled now as homicide and not accidental death, as Billy Black on the tape had confessed to murdering his own wife by driving into the tree that killed her instantly and made himself wheelchair bound for rest of his life, being stupid to be still in the car. So Charles Swan was sent for 2 murders, as one was accesory of murder of Sarah Black, therefore he was sent with a life sentence of Billy's murder and accessory of Sarah Black's death and covering it up with an accident that had happened instead.
The Black children would now have to live with that for rest of their lives of knowing now that their father caused their mother's death willfully and that Charlie had covered it up for him being an accident when in truth been a murder. And learn that Bella was their sister nomatter what they tried to put a stop of being known, it became known rather soon after the trial to whole town of Forks and La Push. And most were shocked, angered and in disbelief of the whole thing.
Edward and Alice with their parents tried to get in and be at the trial, but denied as they were not witness or part of the families involved, so they were banned from entering the room all together, and got to wait on the news and what else had happened in there when the news papers came out about it in them. And it was shocking to read all the details in them. They wanted to see Bella for themselves and ask herself but not allowed due to the restraining order their youngest two had on them from herself. So they had to wait and see if they could get close to her somehow and ask her about it one way or another.
