Chapter 1:Reborn in Another World?!
Plip,plip,plip,plip.
Cloudy skies hovered above the densely overgrown forest as it slowly drizzled to a stop:raindrops raced down and through the leaves of the thick foilage.
There wasn't a single sign of civilization...there was only the surrounding nature.
Chirp,chirp,chirp.
As if an unsaid announcement of the end of the rainy season was heard, birds cheerfully sang their morning greetings to each other despite the previous unending storm.
The sun shone brightly throught the thick canopy of forest treetops, awakening those that either went to sleep or had hidden from the rainfall.
Different species of squirrels and other creatures able to climb trees scurried up and about, searching for materials to build any damage to their home.
A hare hopped by over a fallen tree trunk, unaware of a figure resting against it.
The figure was a man with a unique choice clothing;it was shredded and torn in different places, and numerous wounds surprisingly healed themselves at a rapid rate.
The owner of this body had untamed chocolate brown locks that seemed to defy gravity, his skin was slightly tanned.
"*groan*"
With a start, the male stirred from his slumber and let out a pained sound.
Blink.Blink.
Sunset orange eyes cracked open, but immediately shut down at the audden invasion of bright light shinning over him with a hiss;before he attempted to open them...this time,he did it slowly and with caution.
'Where...where am I?'
Rustle,rustle.
He used his arms to support him in a sitting position and when he succeded,he used a hand to rub his left eye as he proceeded to observe his surroundings drowsily.
His last thoughts were those of the war and the battlefield:where he died after he finally won...but not without suffering heavy cadualties on his side.
Somehow,he stared at a pool of blood around him and the gaping hole on his shirt--something he found weird since his chest area was...unharmed;the blood drenching his being was still fresh, from what he can see--maybe around a minute or two ago.
He closed his eyes for a moment, thinking about why he was in the middle of the forest with tattered and shredded clothes and a pool of blood around him before reaching a conclusion.
'I have a gaping hole on my shirt, but it's drenched in with blood...there's also a pool of it surrounding me to consider. There are kunais everywhere as well as shurikens...it seems like a battle of sorts took place here...' He mused, engrossed in his thoughts.
All of this evidences...was he a shinobi? How did he get here?Where was here exactly?!And didn't that mean that he died again?
Wait...again?
Suddenly his eyes snapped wide open in remembrance, and he gripped his head in pain.
Memories that weren't his--but at the same time it was his--surged into his mind.
W-what was this?What are these memories?What--how..?!
Visions of pictures and scenes flashed before his eyes, like a story book or a tv show unfolding before him...showed him of these things called "jutsus" and his family...his supposed clans.
Flashback:
He didn't have a family now. They died when he was around 10 when they went as merchants to Konohagakure, leaving him in the care of one of his parents' close friends...that was also the time that the Kyuubi attacked Konoha.
His father was an Uchiha, his mother,a Hyuuga:the two met when when they were new recruits for ANBU and an unlikely friendship formed between the two.
It all started off as rivalry between the two,and despite the fact that they should be acting "mature" or "professional" like their fellow members, the way they always bickered and sneered at each other destroyed any image of that.
Despite this though,it didn't take a miracle for the two to fall in love:their superiors actually saw this coming, with their ANBU captain supporting their relationship and most of the people around approving.
However,it wasn't allowed.
Their clan heads never approved, and tried to seperate them:they didn't approved because they didn't want their Uchiha/Hyuuga blood to be mixed with other bloods from a different clan.
Intermarriage between other clans not related to each other was forbidden:only marriage within the clan was allowed.
His mother was a minor Main Branch member, and his father a Side Branch member:of course it still wasn't allowed even if intermarriage between clans was.
Why?
Because his mother still has a higher position than his father.
There were so many things not allowed and it frustrated the two to no end.
They couldn't just postpone the wedding:with a baby on the way, they had to at least get married!
And yes,that baby...was Tsunayoshi.
His parents were ANBU soldiers,so they were elites:famous ones on that they were almost on par with the Yellow Flash, Namikaze Minato.
And since they were elites, they are always able to escape:so that was what they did...they eloped to a different country,Suna.
There, they stayed and lived as merchants, hiding in the name as the Sawada family:Sawada Ieyetsu and Sawada Koucho with their new member of the family,Sawada Tsunayoshi.
They were having a very pleasant life...until they decided to check how Konoha was under the guise of going there to trade.
...That was when they made a mistake.
They went there, fully knowing and hearing that the Kyuubi was sighted to be raging and on rampage...and had gotten themselves killed.
He cried until he couldn't cry anymore.
For the first time in his life,he activated his Sharingan in his right eye,and the Byakugan in his left.
His eyes pulsated with power as his rught eye held two tomoes and glowed in the lonely apartment.
After he activated his dojutsu,he went on with his life...he continued to live normally as his parents would have wanted.
He would have made it inti ANBU,an elite squad of shinobi, but refused.
...He didn't want the position. He still hasn't gotten over his parents death.
He swore on his life, that he would prevent a child from losing their family.
They would live a happier life.
He would not tolerate any mistakes.
Not one child will lose their parents to a war on a battlefield.
...Not on his watch.
And so he persisted on.
He trained from dusk till dawn on his free time.
And accidentally activated his flames...when he activated it,a group of unfamiliar shinobi visited him in the middle of the night.
They knew what the strange fire was,and so he went with them;he trusted his intuition that they would do no harm.
Ever since he was a child,he had such an uncanny resemblance to the Fourth Hokage along with the said Fourth's sharp intuition:yes, not his parents, but the Hokage.
Instead of raven black hair or eyes of an Uchiha,or the brown or blue-black and white eyes of a Hyuuga...he had unruly locks of gravity defying chocolate brown locks akin to the Fourth Hokage's and caramel brown doe-like eyes much to the bafflement of his parents.
His uncanny resemblance caused a bit of trouble in Suna at first, due to the Third Kazekage's suspicion that he might be the son of the Fourth and the two adults who were his parents were sent as "spies."
(His parents then had no choice but to grow his hair long.)
When he and his parents met the Fourth Hokage on one accident,Tsuna took one look at him,and suddenly...he felt like he had seen him before.
The man had also halted in one of his visits to Suna then and stared at the brunet, before he greeted the former Konoha shinobi(to which they didn't know that he knew)and knelt before the child.
"You...look a lot like the child that was related to me that I met years ago." He gently chuckled, much to the inward panic and confusion of the others.
Tsuna looked at him with the inoccent eyes of a child.
"Who are you,Mister?"
The man smiled,humming to himself.
He glanced for permission from the parents if he could pick the child up and only did so when they agreed nervously.
"My name is Namikaze Minato...although when we meet again, call me Giotto or Primo. What's yours,my child?" Minato asked.
Tsuna watched as the man's blue eyes briefly flickered a sunset orange hue and let out a quiet gasp of surprise, before he shook his head and brought back himself to reality.
"My name is Sawada Tsunayoshi!Call me Tsuna!" He beamed.
He was five years old when he met him.
When he would think back to these memories,Tsuna would think that the man knew something amusing that he didn't know.
And then the fight in the forest happened.
He knew he would die...after all,he wasn't a regular shinobi, and his work was far more dangerous than before.
He was a mafioso shinobi, and the ones after him were like him too.
Most likely because he--an outsider--was chosen as the heir of the famiglia called Vongola Famiglia.
So when he reached his dying breaths and watched as the shinobi like him left,he stretched out his left hand skyward,a fedora clutched on his right hand and he whispered...
"Byakuran, hear me.Let my will to protect continue...this is all I ask. This is my dying will."
And then all went dark.
Flashback End.
He remembered.He remembered it all!
After the current him's memories flowed in,the next ones to crash on him was his past life's memories.
Flashback:
He remembered seeing Nono for the first time...how he sealed his flames and after that it was coldcoldcold.
He tried to find the warmth but it was simply gone.
He became clumsier and awkward in everything he did to the point he tripped on every surface and was given the title of Dame-Tsuna.
He thought he would be like that for forever.
Actually, when he was a child,he wished to be a robot so that every thing that he did,he would make no mistakes and no one would hurt him.
However, his teachers and classmates laughed at him and continued to degrade him until his middle school.
...That was when he came crashing into his life.
He was a no-nonsense person and pushed him to his limits:although he used the degrading nickname on him, somehow it didn't sound as insulting as how the other called him.
He gained friends,allies,and companions.
He fought with his life on the line and at the thought of his newly gained friends and family--he couldn't let them down...he wouldn't.
So he fought. He stood up for himself so that he could protect his loved ones.
All because of him,he met his precious people...that he met them.
Even when reality came crashing through him that he might lose his first precious family member,he pushed on against all the odds.
He didn't want him to die.Not yet.Not ever.
He will live.
Because Tsuna would turn the world upside down if he allowed Checkerface to take away the others from him, especially him.
He fought the Vindice.
He won the Representative Battle.
...Tsuna won against Checherface...against Kawahira and broke the curse that held him and the others down.
He thought that after all these hardships, all would be alright despite them being in the mafia:he did change Vongola for the good...but Fate was not so kind.
There was a war.
A war that started due to the greediness and jealousy.
A war that almost broke him and took away his precious people, his famiglia.
They were gonegonegone.
His core ached at the emptiness it felt...where were the bonds that were made and tightly coiled around each other protectively.
He was on his last breath...with his bloodied fedora clutched in a vise grip in his right hand.
A bitter and pained smile made it's way to his face.
...He wouldn't see Tsukihiko, his son grow up into a strong gentleman anymore...he wouldn't see Kayano, his precious daughter, grow up into a charming lady.
He promised Kyoko that he would live beside her...but how could he now?
He was dying.
The only promised he wasn't able to keep...was staying with his family.
The others wouldn't come back to their families...to their children and their beloved wives and husbands.
They were gone.
He had rebuild Vongola...he just hoped that his son will be able to keep it in the right path, with his daughter as an advisor.
He remembered a certain skylark's son crushing on his daughter, and it made him smile.
"Ah...I guess this is it,huh?I'm sorry,Kyoko...I wasn't able to stay with you.I-i still wanted to see our children grow up with you and watch as they have their own children..."
Plip,plip,plip.
"Why..?"
The brunet cried, surrounded by the bodies of his famiglia and with blood and fire everywhere.
His heart ached at the bonds that were supposed to be in his core.
His hand tightened as he clenched his hand around the fedora even more.
"...Please...please tell me that I didn't win this war for nothing...!Please tell me my friends death meant something!Anything! That it was to save the world from chaos and destruction! Please!Somebody! If there's a god up there...!Let me meet them again!Let me see them again!Please...!Don't let me die like this...I can accept dying, but if I were to die-please let me die beside my friends! If there's a god up there, please I beg of you!"
Tsuna cried until his dying breath.
He might have won the war...but it was all for nothing.
He wasn't able to keep all of his famiglia safe.
His sunset orange eyes finally stared at the murky skies, filled with smoke...he heard the distant reinforcments approaching.
"Tsunayoshi!"
"Tsuna-nii!"
His eyes were slowly dimming.
'Ah those voices...' He mused to himself.
"Tsuna...!"
He looked to the side as someone knelt beside him and was followed by two more;three heads of unruly locks entered his blurry vision...blue-green,white,and red.
"Ah...I see that you guys are here.I'm sorry for the unsightly appearance." He apologized.
"Tsuna-nii..." Yuni sobbed, clutching his free hand, that was his left.
"Stop talking,Tsunayoshi.I'm trying to heal you here." Byakuran firmly and sternly ordered, his hands glowed orange as he hovered it over the brunet.
"Tsuna. You'll live alright? You promised Reborn and your guardians. You have to live for Kyoko and your children!" Enma desperately pleaded.
The three kept encouraging him to live on...but all knew that it was pointless:he was dying.
Tsuna stared at their faces, the light in his eyes were rapidly dimming.
"You guys...have been the best thing that had ever happened to me.I...have no regrets.I already told Tsukihiko what I wanted to say...we both knew that we can't escape this. You saw it yourself,Yuni. And Byakuran,I know you felt it too.Enma, you've been like a brother too me...if I have forgotten to tell Kyoko and the kids what I want to say...you know what to tell them, right?"
Tears streamed down their faces as the brunet softly began thanking them as he neared his end.
"I...have lived a fulfulling life of at least a 40 year old man.Vongola was renewed...I had my dream family. The only thing missing...is my guardians and Reborn.I wanted to watch my children grow up and grow old with my wife, but I guess this is the end of my time." Tsuna smiled sadly.
Then he looked up again.
"For that,I'm glad."
"Farewell, everyone.Be happy and continue on with your lives:guide my son and help them to adapt to my absence...watch over Vongola. This is my dying will." He finally managed to breath out in a shaky breath.
His eyes slowly closed and a peaceful smile settled on his face.
His last thoughts were.
'I'm sorry,Reborn.I failed to complete my last wish...I'll be joining you guys now...'
Then his heart finally stopped.
The cries of agony and mourning filled the air...those that were left behind mourned the lost of a great leader.
But what he didn't know...was that the three made a wish...
"...May you meet your loved ones again in another life."
Flashback End.
Tsuna was brought out of his trance,as the pain from receiving memories from his past and current life in his head subsided.
He took a deep breath to calm his nerves, his Byakugan and Sharingan activated.
When he noticed his vision became sharper,he cut off the flow of chakra from his eyes before he stood up on unsteady feet and looked around him.
Then with a wave of his hand, his tattered and torn clothing was changed into new ones:these clothes were first enshrouded with a hazy indigo mist, before it finally solidified from another flick of a wrist.
He began picking up the fallen and stuck shuriken and kunai, knowing that it might be needed for later use and began searching around him...as if he would find something in the bushes.
Unsurprisingly enough,he found a bag under the shrubbery and--what's this?
The brunet blinked in surprise, and his eyes widened in shock.
There were box weapons!
Not just any box weapons, they were his some of his guardians' and his' box weapons.
And...his rings were there too!
'Natsu...!' His eyes gleamed with delight.
Filled with joy,the young man slipped his rings on his middle and pinky fingers, the chains connecting them making a clinking sound as it dangled.
Then he lit up the ring on his pinky.
With a roar,a lion cub appeared out of a ball of flames that came out of the ring a dropped itself on the brunet's lap.
"Natsu!" The brunet delightfully called out.
"Gao~!" The cub purred, having missed the brunet as they leaped on him.
The young man then gladly enveloped him in his arms, cuddling the small creature.
He was sent in this world and was stuck all alone and without companion...
Sure,he was glad that he was given a chance to live again,but...he also wanted to meet his guardians parallel selves.
Whether it was for his peace of mind or he simply just needed company,he himself wasn't sure.
But then again, maybe he was searching for those broken bonds...his core ached without them after all.
The brunet looked upwards again to check the time of day,and saw that it was almost around noon;then,as he looked up,he remembered his death and everything that had happened, before he caught himself and shook his head.
There was no use in getting down and depressed.
He was here now.
He can protect this world's Tsuna's precious people...after all, they had met him and already harmonized with him.
All that was left was to bond.
With newfound determination, the brunet summoned a cloak for desert travel and wore it as he began shrugging his backpack on his shoulders.
"Come on,Nuts.Let's get going...I have a feeling that we should head to the desert." He urged gently with a smile.
"Gao!"
The lion cub leaped up to his shoulders, watching as Tsuna pulled up his hood to cover his head and to protect Natsu;then he pulled up a mask to cover the lower part of his face before wearing goggles just for safety measure.
And for another safety measure, the brunet activated his Lightning flames, and made it nearly invisible to the naked eye;he made a shield bubble around them so that they wouldn't get hurt by the sands of the desert.
He knew where he was going...he needed to get back to Suna.
He has a goal to finish.
"Rest up for now,Nuts. This will be a long journey..."
"Gao?"
"...I don't know when we'll meet them or if they'll also be transferred here. But I hope that they would be.For now,all we can do is hope." Tsuna smiled a bit gloomily.
"...Gao?"
Then he took a deep breath, before trying to make the gloomy mood disappear.
"W-well,it's not like I confirmed that we won't see them!I just said I don't know,so yeah...hope for the best!"
"Gao,gao!"
"That's right!Always be positive! Now go get some rest,Nuts." The male suggested.
Although the cub was hesitant, they eventually settled down into slumber at the urges of its friend and master.
While Tsuna was now trudging towards the sandy dunes,he paused as his feet reached the first signs of it.
"Woaah. That's some stormy sandstorm there..." He whistled in awe, before he summoned chakra under his feet to help him be able to balance on the unsteady ground.
"Well.I guess it'll be quiet for a while,huh..."
