A/N: I'm mad. This was supposed to be a sweet story about friendship.
The Plot was basically Denki wows everyone with his "smartness" but ends up losing his friends because he's not fun anymore. He becomes depressed and something dramatic happens. Boom! His friends support him and Denki returns to normal.
But nooo, I had to do some canon divergence.

Denki isn't stupid. He noticed there's no way he should be doing so well in his classes all of sudden. Master English in a month and become a GrandMaster at Chess out of nowhere.
This is why he went to see his doctor and manipulated them into performing an MRI and a PET scan on him.
The MRI results revealed parts of his brain dealing with memory, informational processing, and intelligence have been enlarged. While the PET scan revealed his neurons are supercharged.
His doctor suspected it might be something to do with his quirk and may be related to overloading his brain. His doctor also explained it might be permanent and could result in a personality change.
Denki sighed. He already figured that out sooner from the medical books he read from his local library.

One day, Inui invited Denki to talk about his grades and his future plans.
"Denki, have you ever considered going to college?" Inui asked.
"College?! Well...I-" Denki stuttered.
"I know you are doing well in your hero courses but with your general education courses. It feels like a waste to not send you to college." Inui explained.
"But I want to be a hero!" Denki said.
Inui held his hand out.
"Here me out, I know a lot of Pro Heroes who went to college. Heck, there are some who became heroes after going to college. They just needed to take the Hero License exam." Inui continued.
"Isn't being a hero a full-time job?" Denki asked.
"Well, not exactly. You could either be a part-time hero and a student or vice-versa." Inui suggested.
"I'll think about it." Denki replied.

While Denki's hero classes remained the same, his general education curriculum changed dramatically.
Nezu allowed him to do dual enrollment at their partnered colleges and universities.
Denki sighed. He had to take either the city bus or the subway to get to his college classes.
He could drive but the government won't issue him a license.
Nezu on the other hand is trying his hardest to use his influence to get him one.

Aizawa noticed another change in Denki.
He became more withdrawn and quiet. He always asks if he can work alone when he assigns group work to the class. There were fewer outbursts of funny jokes during class, which Aizawa didn't mind, but nonetheless, he still missed it.
Denki suspected he might be depressed. Memes don't make him laugh anymore. He got bored of video games. He doesn't sit with his friends during lunch anymore either. He has all the knowledge in the world and he doesn't know how to use it.
He feels as if it's up to him to solve the world's problems.
Denki shook his head as he read a psychology article about narcissism.
"I want to go to therapy but I'm worried my therapist might think I'm a Psychopath or something." Denki muttered.

In his free time, he often helps Jirou with her homework at her house. He suspects she has a crush on him. Denki thinks the feeling is mutual but ever since he started seeing the world differently he's not interested in relationships anymore.
"Hey, how's college?" Jirou asked.
This interrupted Denki's thinking.
"Huh? Ooh. It's doing well." Denki answered.
Jirou frowned.
"Are you okay? You always look like you are thinking about something." Jirou.
"Um…"
Denki wondered how he is supposed to explain how he's coping after learning several national secrets, how he plans to take down the corrupted Hero Commission or how he thinks he's better than everyone but also hates himself.
Jirou gasped.
"Ooh. Did I say that out loud?!" Denki blurted out.
"Yeah...are you alright?"
Denki got off the chair.
"I gotta go." Denki said, putting on his jacket.
"Denki, please wait-" Jirou said.
Denki slammed her bedroom door behind him.

After word got out about Denki's newfound intelligence the Hero Commission has been spying on him waiting on the perfect time to recruit him.
"No." Keigo said.
"Hawks! This is an order! Do you know how dangerous he would be if villains got his hands on him?" The Hero Commission President said.
"He's so young though." Keigo rebutted.
"And? You were younger when we recruited you." The President added.
Keigo's eyes darkened. He didn't want another 'Lady Nagant' on his watch. Hopefully this time he can protect Denki.
"At least make me his mentor." Hawks suggested.
The President raised her eyebrow before obliged.

Denki was on his way back home from the library when a suspicious black SUV van approached him from the front.
"Uh oh." Denki muttered.
Two men in black and white suits wearing shades stepped out of the van and approached him.
Denki started to sweat.
"Did the government find out about my hacking?" Denki thought.
"Denki Kaminari. I'm an Agent of the Hero Commission." One of the suited men said, showing out his official badge.
"Come with us." The Other Man said.
They dragged him into the van.
Denki sat nervously in his seat before his chair spun around.
"Yo!" Hawks said.
Denki sighed in relief.
"I'm surprised the Hero Commission didn't seek me out sooner." Denki joked.
Keigo's face became serious.
"Denki we need to talk." Keigo said in a low tone.
.
.
.
Denki is terrified. Keigo told Denki the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
He knew the Hero Commission was corrupted but he didn't know they were this corrupt.
"I don't understand why I'm being recruited. My quirk isn't all that special." Denki rambled.
"I know." Keigo said.
"Ouch." Denki said.
Keigo chuckled before continuing.
"The Hero Commission thinks you are too dangerous to be left alone." Keigo explained.
"Fuck this! I knew I should have taken Nezu's offer or skip high school and go to college."
Denki muttered something under his breath.
"I could have been a scholar, a scientist, a doctor, maybe even a politician."
Denki gasped.
"Could you imagine how many Nobel Prizes I would have won?!" Denki exclaimed.
"Kid. Listen." Hawks interrupted.
"The Hero Commission is not a joke. Since you're a minor I probably already suspected they did a shady deal with your parents or something." Keigo added.
"Ooh. I should have emancipated myself but I don't have a job yet." Denki said, before facepalming himself.
"That's where I come in. I want you to become my sidekick." Keigo said cheerfully.
"I don't have my license yet." Denki said.
"The Hero Commission already made an exception." Keigo said before passing Denki's license to him.
"Where did they get a profile picture of me from?!" Denki thought.
