Hello everyone. This is my first fanfiction so be gentle on me :) This fanfiction takes place in the world of Boarding School Juliet however with one key twist… Hasuki's feeling for Inuzuka are reciprocated. I'm not sure whether this will be a One Shot or a series but either way I hope you enjoy!

Chapter one: A Flower Which Endured Hibernation Always Glows Brightest in the End

"C'mon Hasuki! Those white cat sissys are squaring up again".

Inuzuka happening to overhear turned and instantly noticing the uncomfortably close distance between resident bad boy Maru and Hasuki.

'How close does he need to be with Hasuki?!' Inuzuka thought to himself sensing his anger boiling over. The contents of the conversation between the two seemed to be of secondary importance as Inuzuka thought of anyway to separate the two.

'Why was my blood boiling at that sight, Maru and Hasuki have always been good friends'.

He thought to himself his rage subsiding almost as quickly as it surfaced. This feeling was soon overwhelmed by a tightness in his chest beginning to emerge after seeing Hasuki glance over and begin approaching him. This was not normal for him and he knew it. Before he knew it Hasuki was in front of him with an inquisitive look spread across her doll-like face.

"Yo bro, you comin with us Inuzuka or nah?".

"Su-Ye…", Fumbling over his words he simply nodded.

Seemingly satisfied with the response Hasuki began galloping away with the rest of the Black Doggy house in tow.

'What was that all about?' Inuzuka pondered that familiar tightness incapacitating him whenever Hasuki was involved.

'It couldn't be, could it?... Surely not. I can't be in love with her!'

"White Cats" and "Black Doggies" going further back than even the elder teachers at Dahlia Academy remember have been at 'war' with each other. With the "White Cats" hailing from the West Duchy and the "Black Doggies" hailing from the nation of Touwa. Each faction is a group of students attending the famous Dahlia Academy known as a sign of peace between the warring nations. Their hatred for each other is as palpable as the number of altercations the dichotomised groups get into daily.

With this backdrop the "Black Doggies" leader Romio Inuzuka, renowned for his above average looks, height and fighting ability and his much below average intelligence, and second-in-command Hasuki Komai, famous for her doll-like model appearance and noticeably smaller than her compatriot easily beats most of the "Black Doggies" in the midterm exams are being scolded once more for their role in another altercation between the two groups. Finally the main 'enforcer' or 'bad-boy' in the Black doggie household was Maru Chizuru, someone who was known for his short temper, his borderline delinquent appearance and recently his hatred for the "Black Doggie" leader Inuzuka.

"Inuzuka and Hasuki again?", the Black Doggie's head prefect Airu Inuzuka sighs as he looks down on the pair as if a stain on the floor. "Be gone out of my sight this instant".

The pair scurry out of the prefect's office in fear of further reprimanding form the domineering form of the Black Doggie's head prefect.

"Phew bro that was a really close call huh?", Hasuki sputtered out almost as if shed been holding her breath the whole time.

"Yeah you're tellin' me", Inuzuka forced himself to say to prevent any suspicion of his newfound revelation.

"Bro! You're still bleeding!", she bellowed quickly pulling a handkerchief from her blazer pocket and began to tend to her childhood friend's small abrasion located on his forehead.

Due to the distinct difference in height she had to be on her tiptoes to even hope of reaching his forehead. It left her in a compromising position with her balance faltered she had to lay a hand on Inuzuka's chest for balance. Even this touch being almost too much for Inuzuka to handle he quickly took hold of the handkerchief from his dear friend and began to tend his wounds himself.

"I got it Hasuki don't worry!" He smiled in an attempt to put her mind at ease.

She eased of her tiptoes and seemed to linger her hand on his chest for a second longer than Inuzuka though was necessary. But surely, he was just imagining it right. Surely.

"BRO… Bro!", Hasuki retrieved Inuzuka's attention.

"Sorry what was that Hasuki?", he grinned awkwardly.

"I said", she smiled with a teasing inflection, "That Juliet really is tough, I'm still amazed how she can take so many of your hits bro".

"Yeah, she is tough but-", Inuzuka is interrupted by the intrusion of Maru in their now not so private conversation.

"If I could have a go against her she wouldn't stand a chance especially compared to a pipsqueak like you Inuzuka". Maru derisively uttered in an attempt to gain a reaction from Inuzuka.

Before he could reply at all Hasuki interjected, "You did have a crack against her bro she beat you down".

Maru seemingly dejected after receiving a verbal assault could only manage a "Tch", before continuing his walk along the hall.

"What's his problem?", Inuzuka put forth more rhetorically than anything but was surprised with a reply from his compatriot.

"There's been talk that he's gunning for your spot Inuzuka".

"For my leadership? If he wants that he-".

"Not that Bro", a light tinge appeared on her cheeks.

"Then what?", he replied inquisitively.

"It doesn't matter bro", Inuzuka was sure he noticed Hasuki biting her lower lip as she walked away to a crowd of Black Doggies. "Ill see you later bro", she turned flashing a smile at him as she continued strolling towards the group.

Inuzuka could feel his cheeks redden deeply as he waved and uttered "sure".

Feeling dejected by the sudden change of mood he strolled back through the seemingly never-ending corridors towards his room desperately racking his brain for what Hasuki was referring to when she mentioned Maru was 'gunning for'. Whenever he felt like the answer was on his fingertips his mind ran back to that scene of Hasuki biting her lip.

"Why was she doing that?", he said out loud to no-one in particular. His resolve, hardened by this scene, knew only one goal now. He wanted Hasuki to smile.

With that thought he continued heading to his dorm room processing how he had just spoken to Hasuki with ease and often smiling at the thought of her gentle almost childish care-free smile. But for now all he knew was that he was in love… with his best friend.

"Yo! Inuzuka I need a word now!", Maru barked. Inuzuka knew not of the implications this conversation would have on his short-term future.
