To change or not to change part 2

Last time on Total Drama Tyranny of the Masses, we were at the best 3. After counting all the votes submitted by you, our dear audience, we found out the winner of the tiebreaker and the second finalist! Brick, the coward cadet.

Now we have the season finale Brick vs. Courtney. The cadet from the second generation loved by everyone, against one of the most controversial villains of the first generation. One of these two young adults will end the day one million dollars richer.

And to decide the winner, we'll have the last blast from the past challenge, which is a mix of all the season finales. The contestants have to build their own vehicles and run across the island, gathering flags from a greased pole, the mad king Chef, and a mud pool. The first to reach the goal with the three flags will be the winner.

But they aren't alone in this challenge. Each of them has two helpers who will assist them in getting the money. Brick got two heavy hitters, with Cameron, the genius fourth season winner, and Alejandro, the charismatic third season runner up who was also a helper in another season. While Courtney chose Duncan, her ex and second season winner, and B, which is quite a weird choice, why she chose a smug and mute early boot? I can't understand these kids.

After 90 minutes of car building, both finalists are ready to start the race. Courtney in her custom Sedan 'Princess Racer' and Brick in his custom jeep 'Fashion Soldier.' The race is on. Which of these two former losers will become the winner of the 7th season? Find out now in the exciting last episode of Total Drama, Tyranny of the Masses.

As soon as Logan lowered the green flag, both Duncan and Alejandro stepped on the gas. In an instant, Princess Racer took the lead, accelerating faster than their opponents' car.

Chris looked at them with an awed expression. "And the race is on, with Courtney taking the lead closely followed by Brick's car. I must say I never expected they could build such nice vehicles with that junk."

And not only was Chris into the race. Both bleachers were also cheering for their favorite.

"C'mon Brickhead! They're getting ahead. You need to go faster!" shouted Jo in an upset tone.

"They deserve their trounce after spurning my offer to assist them. His rapacity will be his doom," said Scarlett, enjoying how Brick was losing the race.

Amy and Sam glared at her, but Jo replied before they had the chance. "Shut up nerdette! If you aren't going to cheer, then keep your nasty trap closed."

On the other bleachers, the attitude was more positive.

"Look how fast they're going, man. I hope they let me ride it once the challenge is over," said Cody, making a big smile that showed the gap between his teeth.

"I definitely need to ask for B's help to make my anti-zombie van," Shawn rubbed his chin and nodded. "Or maybe even to build the zombie traps in my garden."

On the road, both cars were speeding up and getting closer to the first checkpoint.

"Wow, you two did a great job. I can't believe a car made out of junk can be so fast," said Courtney, awed by the speed of their vehicle.

"Hehehe, it's too soon to be surprised, princess." Duncan made a big grin as he patted the wheel. "This baby is full of secrets, right Silent Bob?"

B looked at him, unsure if he was insulting him or not, but decided to just give him a complicit smile and thumbs up.

The former CIT nodded and decided to lay against the comfy back seat. She was still nervous, but her helpers' confidence calmed her.

On the other car, the situation was the opposite. You could feel the tension and anxiety on the passengers.

"That meatball is really a genius. I can't believe their car can be so fast," Alejandro was pushing their car to the limit but it wasn't enough to catch up with the 'Princess Racer.'

"Don't be so rude to B, Alejandro. He just did his best, as we did. And I'm sure if we don't give up, we'll have a chance," said Brick, looking concerned at the driver.

The Spaniard sighed. He forgot how nice the cadet was. "Nice words, but I want you to win the million mi amigo. Maybe we should use some tricks."

"NO!" shouted Cameron from the backseat. "It's too soon, and we're only 3.5 minutes behind them. According to my calculations, they'll reach the first checkpoint with an advantage of no more than 5 minutes. We should use these car's capabilities to get the advantage later in the competition." He then adjusted his glasses, smirking. "That isn't only more efficient, but also will give them a false sense of confidence."

"That's not a little bit mean?" asked Brick, not liking these mind games.

"No Brick, it's just strategy. It's not mean or nice, just a way to accomplish our goal," the brainiac put a hand on his friend's shoulder, trying to soothe his feelings.

Brick nodded as Alejandro smirked. It seemed the Spaniard underestimated Cameron. It was obvious he wasn't the naïve bubble boy he thought.

Courtney's car reached the first checkpoint. They stopped in front of the two wooden poles. The grease covered the long poles making them shine with the sun in an orangish tone. On the top of the posts was a flag. The one on the right was blue colored and the one on the left was green colored.

"Why is our flag the blue one? The green one matches better with my hair," joked Duncan, making B chuckle. "Even if the blue one matches with my eyes."

"I don't know, but let's hurry up. I need to go down and start climbing that pole before we lose our advantage. Aren't Sedans supposed to have 4 doors?" asked Courtney, waiting for B or Duncan to go down the vehicle so she could get out.

But instead, the silent man pressed a button and a small door opened in the roof, big enough to let the former CIT exit comfortably.

"Are you expecting me to climb out through the roof? Really?" asked the Latin girl. This was the first time she doubted the smarts of her helpers.

"Of course not, princess. This is just an idea Bob had to help you with this challenge. So get ready and don't let go."

But before Courtney could understand the meaning of Duncan's cryptic words, B pressed a button in front of him, and the Latin girl was hurled through the air, using a big spring under her seat.

She screamed as she was propelled against the right pole, hitting it a little over the half. She used the mix of anger and adrenaline to hold the wooden structure, and after recovering from the shock, she began to climb.

Normally it would be impossible to climb the greasy pole, but Courtney's fingers were denting the wood and letting her get traction to keep climbing.

Duncan and B high-fived at the success of their plan, but the silent man was worried about what Courtney would say (or do) once she came back.

Confessional: B

The silent man took out a spoon and a small rock of his coat. He used them to show how to hurl the rock at an angle, in the same way they did with Courtney. After launching it, he accidentally breaks the confessional window. B winced and hastily left the confessional.

As the former CIT reached the top of the pole, Brick's car arrived. The three men gasped, not expecting her to be so ahead in the pole climbing challenge.

"It's impossible. How could she climb so fast? The friction coefficient of the pole should be so low that climbing it should be an onerous task," said Cameron adjusting his glasses in awe.

"Don't worry, my friends, if she could do it, we can do it too," said Brick jumping off the car.

Alejandro rushed down and stood in his way. "Wait a minute amigo, I have a plan. But Cameron, we'll need your hoodie."

The cadet and the genius looked at each other and decided to listen to Alejandro while Cameron took off his hoodie.

Meanwhile, Courtney took the flag. She was wondering how she would go down when she watched both Duncan and B waiting below her.

The former CIT jumped down the pole and was caught by B, who winked at her.

"You jerks! Next time tell me before launching me like that. I could have died!" shouted Courtney as she ran toward the car, entering first.

"Don't be so dramatic. Nobody got hurt, and you got the flag. There is no use in getting worried by what-ifs," said Duncan as he and B went into the vehicle.

She rolled her eyes. "And also, what were you thinking standing below the pole? What if you hurt your arm again?"

"My arm is all better, but thanks for your concern," Duncan instead of smirking made an unusual honest smile. "Now fasten your seat belts because I'm increasing our advantage."

"But this car doesn't have seaaaaaaaahhhhh!" shouted Courtney as the delinquent sped up, with B enjoying the thrill of the ride.

While the female finalist feared for her life. Brick, Alejandro, and Cameron were trying to get the flag as fast as they could. The Spaniard was crouching next to the pole while Brick was holding Cameron's hoddie.

"Just stand on my shoulders and put the hoodie around the pole while climbing using your boots. I will raise you so you can start in a better position. Did you understand me?"

"Loud and clear," said Brick, saluting, and with the help of Cameron, he stood on Alejandro's shoulders. The Spaniard stood up, and Brick began to climb.

It wasn't as easy as he expected. Even with the hoodie, he slid down. But Alejandro was pushing him from the ground, and after a few tries, Brick found the way he should use the hoodie and began to climb fast.

"It's such a shame. I liked that hoodie," even if Cameron's words were grim, he was looking at Brick with excitement.

"Don't worry pequeño amigo, it's only a little grease and some pulls. It will probably be fine. And if not, you can ask him to buy you a new one with the prize money," said Alejandro confidently.

Both men fist-bumped, as Alejandro said, both needed to believe in Brick.

At the same time the cadet reached the top, he was sweating a lot and his arms hurt, but he was almost there. The only problem is that he couldn't reach the top with their climbing technique.

But he didn't need to reach the top. Making an extra effort, he jumped and in a swift movement grabbed the flag.

Or not so swift. Because after holding the flag, he realized there was no way he could hold onto the pole again.

"NOOOOOO!" shouted the cadet as he plummeted from the top of the pole and crashed against the ground, making a small hole.

Alejandro and Cameron ran to Brick's side, trying to help him.

"Brick! Brick, are you ok?" shouted Cameron, looking at the hole.

The cadet stood up, with his eyes twirling and a goofy smile on his face. "Don't worry mom, I'll take out the garbage and the cat after one more set of squats."

"He seems fine enough," said Alejandro, shrugging. "Let's take him to the car. We need to catch up with the others."

Cameron looked at his fellow helper with wide eyes. "What? But Brick isn't fine, he has strong disorientation, and he may have a concussion, maybe we should…"

"I know what you're saying but we can't waste time if we want him to win this game," Alejandro interrupted the genius, then he held Brick's arms. "So help me to move him into the car. If he's still disoriented by the time we arrive at the second checkpoint, we can think about retiring from the game."

"OK, Let's do as you say." The brainiac agreed with Alejandro's plan. It was fair, and it wouldn't be too late to retire if Brick wasn't fine after reaching the next checkpoint.

After sitting Brick in the jeep, fastening his seatbelt and putting the flag under one of the seats. The second car left the first checkpoint and began to chase Courtney's vehicle.

Confessional: Alejandro

"Yes, Cameron may be worried, but I don't think Brick's answers were so different after hitting his head," said the Spaniard, chuckling and shrugging.

On the central stage, the bleachers and the staff team watched at the 4 screens that showed the final challenge with excitement.

"It seems that our CIT is increasing her lead. Is this the end of the line for our clumsy soldier?" asked Chris as he watched the contest.

"Are you blind? That hysteric witch's team cheated in the challenge," shouted Amy, who was being held by Charlotte and Lilly, so she couldn't jump toward the host.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. I never said you couldn't use your vehicles or your helpers to get the flags. They're helpers. They're supposed to help," said Chris in a mocking tone.

"Just relax Amy, everything will be fine," Lilly rubbed her friend's back.

The older twin sat down, folding her arms and frowning. Some people like Beardo and Lindsay kept cheering, but the atmosphere on the bench was gloomy, in contrast with Courtney's supporters, who were cheering loudly.

"They got this. I can't wait to see the reactions on the blogs once Courtney wins the million. Maybe it will surpass the Revenge finale," said Sierra in an excited tone.

"Don't count your chickens before they hatch," said Dawn in an ominous tone. "There is something weird in this challenge."

DJ looked at her with wide eyes, "What do you mean by weird? You're scaring me."

"Sorry, it wasn't my intention to worry you. I just feel like something is off. I can't express it with words," the aura reader then watched the screen silently, not able to find out the reason behind her bad feeling.

Chris feigned to ignore that conversation and walked toward the chubby intern working on the old laptop.

"Hey, Steve. Is the surprise in the third point ready?" whispered the host.

The intern nodded. "Yes Mr. Mclean, but are you sure it's wise to use it? Maybe the mud pool is challenging enough."

"It's the finale! We need to make it as exciting as possible," Chris made a big grin, slapping the intern's back. "So don't worry about the details."

The image then showed a shadow under the third checkpoint. The shadow's red eyes glowed in the dark.

The host with the most went back to the stage. "And now that both teams have finished the first checkpoint let's spice up the race with some OBSTACLES in the road."

Chris pressed a button on his remote control and watched intently at the screen.

Back on the road, Courtney's team was already halfway toward the next checkpoint. Duncan was flooring the gas, trying to get as much advantage as they could.

"Be careful! It won't matter if we arrive first if you kill us," shouted Courtney. The vehicle's improvised suspension made it tremble a lot more than a normal car. B nodded in agreement but wasn't fazed by the car's speed.

Duncan smirked confidently. "You worry too much princess, just try to relax while we arrive at the next checkpoi-"

He was interrupted when the vehicle began to slip out of control. While they discussed a small hose poured oil on the road, and Duncan passed over it without noticing it.

The three passengers began to scream as the car went out of the way. In a desperate attempt to regain control, the delinquent made a brake turn, trying to go back into the road. After a lot of screeching, more screaming, and some pieces falling from the car, they were back into the race.

"THIS IS WHY I ASKED YOU TO BE CAREFUL!" shouted Courtney from the back seat.

"Yes yes I know. I'm sorry. But I didn't see the oil in the road," Duncan rubbed his neck and then turned to the other passenger. "Also, Bob, nice voice. It's deeper than I imagined."

The silent man smirked and blushed, making finger guns at the delinquent.

But the small bonding moment finished quickly.

"TREE!" shouted Courtney as a big trunk began to fall over the road. She looked at it in dismay, but now it was obvious, these accidents were part of the challenge.

Instead of breaking, Duncan sped up while B pressed some buttons in front of him.

Before the Latin girl could shout more curses at her driver, a large pair of bear paws came out from the sides of the car, cutting the tree before it touched the car.

"What? How?" asked Courtney, still shocked by what just happened.

"The car had some tricks. Right Bob? So don't worry, we will arrive at the checkpoint in one piece," Duncan winked while B nodded.

Courtney was about to shout some more but decided it was just her nervousness. They weren't at fault. So in an unusual decision for her past self, she decided to trust them and keep quiet.

But she would prefer if the car had seatbelts.

Behind them was the 'Fashion soldier.' Brick was still a little dizzy in the back seat while Alejandro and Cameron tried to go to the second checkpoint as fast as possible.

"Such awesome weather. I'll finish eating all the greens before thanksgiving day," said Brick, his eyes still twirling.

"I hope he'll be ok. We need him to recover for the next flags," said Alejandro in a worried tone.

"Don't be distraught, Brick symptoms are those of vertigo and mild disorientation normal for a light head concussion. I examined him, and he will be fine as long as there isn't another concussion," said the brainiac, raising a finger for emphasis.

The Spaniard nodded, then he noticed something in the road.

"Mierda, that damn Chris put oil on the road. Brace yourself," Alejandro tried to break but it was too late.

"Don't worry, I got this," the brainiac pressed a button, making the jeep jump over the oil using a huge spring-like tendril.

After falling back to the ground, the tubes connected to the wheels let the jeep fall to the ground without damage. The Spaniard smiled, he wasn't sure what happened but somehow, they avoided the worst-case scenario. "Chaval, de verdad eres un genio[1]."

"Thanks," replied Cameron, adjusting his glasses. He wasn't sure what the archvillain was saying, but it was obviously a compliment.

"Ouch, that was a really big pothole," Brick shook his head with a pained expression.

Alejandro smiled. "It seems the sleeping beauty woke up. Hello my friend, are you ok?"

"Yes, My head hurts a little. I remember falling from the pole but nothing else."

"Don't worry, it's less than 10 minutes since your accident, and we're on our way to the second checkpoint," Cameron looked back at the cadet. "So rest a little while we reach our destination."

Brick didn't understand exactly what was happening, but it seemed they were still in the race. He hoped they could gain some time over Courtney and had a chance for a comeback.

Talking about the Latin girl's team, they just arrived at the second checkpoint.

In the place was a large structure. It was a square tower built with 4 arcs. In the ground, just in the middle of the building, were the two flags. And in the top of the tower was Chef glaring around. He was wearing a crown on his head and wielding the pasta bazooka on his hand.

"We can't get closer and risk damaging the car," muttered Courtney, but it was loud enough for the two helpers to hear.

"Maybe we can distract him while you go and sneak to take the flag?" Duncan looked at B and then Courtney. "It isn't the best plan but it is a plan."

The former CIT wasn't convinced. "But what if he hits any of you? It'll take some time to get out of the pasta."

"We're expendable. As long as you can go to the third checkpoint we win. So your priority is getting that flag, got it?" said the delinquent. The silent man smirked and nodded.

"Then let's do this," Courtney nodded as the three got out of the car.

Chef was still cursing his luck. He hated this role. He was bored to death while waiting, and the disguise wasn't even clever. If he could make his own mad king costume, he would show Chris the real meaning of royalty.

He then watched something moving among the trees surrounding the tower. At last, it seemed he would have some action.

"Oh, what was that?" Chef pointed at the opposite side with his bazooka. "Probably it was just a damn squirrel running around," he said in a menacing voice, trying to bait the kids out of their hiding place.

"Hey Chef! Are you dressed as the prince or as the frog? With your ugly mug I can't tell!" shouted Duncan before hiding again behind some trees.

"Damn punk, you just had to do it," said Chef, giving a death glare to the delinquent.

In the back of his mind the big man knew it was all a ruse. He was just provoking him, but the damn kid did a fine job. Chef was so angry that he decided to give him a lesson.

Duncan barely avoided Chef's shot, which pierced the tree he was using as cover, splitting it in two.

"Hey! That isn't fair," shouted the delinquent as more rounds of boiling pasta were raining against him. He ran and took cover behind a rock, his face and clothes stained with tomato sauce.

Meanwhile, Courtney was sneaking through the bushes, advancing quickly from rock to bush and from bush to tree.

Then she found a problem. There was nowhere to take cover for the last stretch toward the flags. The interns cleared the area, so she needed to run the last 20 meters (65 ft) in the open.

"You aren't laughing anymore, eh punk? Come on, let me fill that big mouth of yours with a serving of pasta!" Chef mocked Duncan as he shot another round toward him.

The former CIT took her chance and ran toward the castle, reaching it without being caught.

"YES! This wasn't as hard as I thought," muttered Courtney while taking the blue flag, but maybe she talked too soon.

She didn't notice the thin thread attached to the flag that pulled some small bells. The tinkling made Chef smile.

Neither Duncan nor B would give the big man a rest. The silent genius moved across the trees and bushes making a lot of noise while Duncan was mocking him.

"Chef, do you call that shooting? Your aim is so bad that you couldn't even hit Owen," shouted the delinquent, cupping his mouth with his hands.

The co-host shot him but failed again. Courtney took the chance and began to run back to the woods. Holding the flag in her hands.

But as she was about to hide behind a tree, something hit her. The greasy and hot projectile slammed Courtney against another tree, sticking her and the flag.

"Hahahaha, you're 10 years too young to play a decoy tactic against me," laughed Chef, enjoying hitting the former CIT.

"Ugh, dammit," Courtney cursed as she tried to get free, but the hot pasta was sturdier than it seemed. "HEY! I need some help around here."

Duncan tried to run toward her, but Chef shot at him. The co-host failed to hit his mark, but the delinquent couldn't get near Courtney.

And on the opposite side from Courtney, B was also trapped. He stuck his head from behind a tree but hid again as soon as Chef shot. Things weren't looking good for them.

The Latin girl rolled her eyes. "Great, at least things couldn't get worse."

Unfortunately for her, she had spoken too soon. Brick's car arrived at the second checkpoint as soon as she uttered those words.

"Well done Courtney, you and your big mouth," said the former CIT, rolling her eyes.

She was in a moment of self-loathing when someone arrived at her side.

"B? But you were trapped on the other side of the woods?" whispered Courtney, awed by the silent man's sudden appearance.

He smiled smugly as he looked for something inside his coat. Unknown to her and Chef, the other B was just a decoy he built with some balloons while Duncan was distracting Chef.

Courtney didn't care. It was her chance. "Thanks B, you arrived at the best moment. Do you have some invention to get me free?"

The silent man nodded, took a spork out of his coat, and began to eat the pasta as fast as he could.

"Really?" asked the Latin girl, a little disappointed.

Without stopping eating, B nodded. He then pressed a button on his spork that began to move automatically. The former CIT wasn't sure if it was a great invention or not.

Meanwhile, Brick, Cameron, and Alejandro were getting ready to go for the flag.

"It's our chance, now while Chef is distracted with the other team. Apurate[1]," said Alejandro, jumping off the jeep.

Brick nodded, he didn't like the idea of using the others as decoys, but that was part of the challenge.

"You go first. I'll distract Chef," Cameron's glasses shined while he chuckled evilly (or at least as evil as he could).

The Cadet and the Spaniard nodded and began to run toward the tower.

At the same time, Duncan was still trying to advance toward Courtney. "Hey, old man, don't you run out of ammo?

"Old man? Ha! You're running out of insults, and no, I have enough pasta here to feed all of the Napoles' population. So you can keep hiding or accept your-"

Chef was interrupted by a sudden zap. The big man's arm was scratched by a laser beam that cut part of the tower. Astonished, he looked at the source.

It was Cameron on the jeep. A mechanical squirrel head was coming out of one of the flashlights, and the brainiac was shooting lasers with it.

"Sorry Chef, but it seems that light makes a better weapon than a mix of cooked wheat and water," said the brainiac adjusting his glasses.

"You have got to be kidding me," Chef hit the ground to avoid another laser.

Using the chaos to their advantage, Alejandro and Brick went for the green flag while Duncan at last arrived at Courtney's side. There B and the CIT were eating the pasta as fast as they could.

"Hahaha, you got pasta'd against the tree?" chuckled Duncan.

"Stop with the stupid jokes and start eating," shouted Courtney as she bit the pasta.

He shrugged. "Whatever. Your wish is my command," and began to help them.

Meanwhile Brick was already under the tower when Chef began to counter-attack the brainiac.

"You went too far, kid," said the co-host, shooting pasta at the jeep, but he couldn't aim with the lasers coming at him.

Confessional: Cameron

"I didn't want to hit Chef with the lasers, only to intimidate him enough to force him to take cover," said Cameron adjusting his glasses. "But I must admit I had a good time shooting at him."

The brainiac kept shooting lasers when he noticed the squirrel head began to smoke, and after a frizzle, stopped working.

"Uh oh," said Cameron as he went out of the vehicle to take cover behind a rock.

Chef noticed the beams stopped coming in his way and raised his head just in time to watch Brick running away with the flag.

"If you think I'll let you go after this humiliation, think again," the big man started shooting at Brick, who avoided the pasta projectiles just in time.

"Well done Brick, now let's go back to the car," said Alejandro, winking.

The cadet nodded, heavy breathing. "I don't think Chef will let us go that easily."

"Don't worry, I have you covered," replied the Spaniard, who then shouted, "HEY CHEF, LOOK! DUNCAN IS GETTING AWAY."

The co-host turned and watched just as B and Duncan freed Courtney. He glared and shot a volley of pasta at them.

Courtney's eyes went wide as the pasta was about to hit her when she was pushed out of the way at the last minute.

In her place, B was stuck against the rock, with a smug smile on his face.

"Go on without me. You have a race to win."

Courtney then turned and hit Duncan in the arm. "Don't put words in his mouth."

"Ouch. But I'm sure that is what he wants to say, right Bob?" said Duncan while rubbing his arm.

B nodded and pushed her lightly. Courtney knew they didn't have time to spare.

"Thanks," The former CIT said as Duncan and she began to run toward the car.

The silent man muttered something and then began to eat the pasta again. Duncan really took the words from his mouth.

Chef tried to shoot at the four teenagers, but he couldn't hit any of them.

Courtney and Duncan arrived first at their car. This time she sat in the passenger seat as he sat behind the wheel, speeding up as soon as both were inside the car.

Just some seconds behind them, Alejandro and Brick went into the jeep, avoiding another volley of pasta shoots.

"Fasten your seatbelt, my friend. We're catching up with them," said Alejandro, who in a moment was ready to chase them.

"Wait, Cameron isn't here," Brick looked around, worried as he fastened his seatbelt. "We can't leave him behind."

But without a word, Alejandro floored the gas and went out of the checkpoint.

Brick gazed at him in disbelief. There was no way the Spaniard didn't hear him. He just abandoned Cameron back there. "ALEJANDRO!"

At that moment, the cadet realized that maybe what others said about him was true. Brick was just too gullible, and many people around him were just using him. Perhaps he shouldn't have trusted Alejandro.

But before he could utter a word, the Spaniard stretched out his arm and held someone, pulling him into the car.

"Well done Cam, you really taught Chef who is the boss," said Alejandro, chuckling at Chef's misfortune.

"Really? I mean, of course, it was all part of the plan," Cameron tried to not blush. Somehow being praised by Alejandro made him feel proud.

Brick just smiled silently, a little ashamed of doubting his friend and really happy of choosing him as a helper.

Confessional: Brick

"I still have a long way to go. I trust Alejandro, and I think he really wants to help me. But sometimes, I'm not sure if I should trust him blindly. But after what happened with Cameron at the second checkpoint, I decided to trust him completely," said Brick nodding and saluting. "I would rather lose by trusting my enemy than to win by doubting my friend."

Back on the central stage, the situation was quite different after both finalists left the second checkpoint.

"What a twist! Not only did Courtney's team lose almost all their advantage but also a helper. The competition seems a lot better for Brick's team," said Chris, enjoying the drama.

"Don't count your eggs before making your protein shake, Chris. Angry girl will win the championship in the end," shouted Lightning.

Dave sighed, "What you said doesn't make sense. The expression is, don't count your chickens before they hatch. Even Dawn told it before. But at least you got the right point."

"You're 50 pounds too skinny to correct the Lightning. Come back when you have arms like this," said the jock, flexing.

"Hey, he was just trying to help you. There is no need to be a jerk," Sky frowned at Lightning. She then turned to Dave, "but he's right, you might look a little better with some muscles."

"I'll remember that, but I think you are both forgetting there is something more important going on," said Dave, wanting to focus on cheering for the finale.

And on Brick's bleacher, the supporters were more hyped than ever.

"I always knew there was a chance of a comeback, now Brick only needs to play fiercer, and he will win the million, ya," said Staci in a teacher-like tone.

"I don't think he really needs to play fiercer. I think it's enough to keep doing what he is doing," said Beth, who was one of the few contestants who took Staci seriously.

The compulsive liar nodded. "He can't stop pushing now. The competition isn't over until it's over."

"Wow girl, that was actually quite smart," LeShawna was actually awed. "I thought you only talked about how awesome your family was."

Staci blushed, not used to being complimented. In the background someone left the bleachers without anyone seeing him.

"Now is the moment for my revenge," muttered Max taking out a remote control and a skateboard, laughing evilly.

Meanwhile the race to the 3rd and last checkpoint continued. Courtney and Duncan have a small lead, but they have one less helper, so they need to speed up and increase the gap with their opponents if they want to win.

The trap-filled road wasn't making things easy for them.

"Hahaha, this is more exciting than my own finale, it's a shame Beth and I didn't compete in a car race," said Duncan as he evaded some rocks on the road.

"I'm happy you're having a great time," replied Courtney in a stressed tone. "It must be easier if you aren't the one competing."

Duncan rolled his eyes. "Oh, c´mon princess, don't tell me you're getting nervous."

"Of course I'm nervous! I have been waiting for this moment for years. If I don't win this time. I'll never do it," replied the Latin girl in a harsher tone than she intended.

"And that would be so bad? I know it sounds cynical because I won a season already, but you did your best and you're already here in the best 2. Would it be so bad if you lose?" asked Duncan, he wanted to continue his speech, but this race required him to focus on driving as a pit appeared in the middle of the road.

Courtney sat silent, thinking about what the delinquent said.

At the same time, Brick's jeep was chasing them. The small car was fast but not as fast as their opponents', and since Duncan and Alejandro were both similarly skillful drivers, the gap between them was growing.

"I'm shocked about their performance. I'm curious about the engine they're using," Cameron adjusted his glasses in awe.

"Please wait until we beat them to start admiring the enemy Cameron," said Alejandro while trying to control the vehicle in a zone filled with bumps in the road.

Brick smiled while the bumps made him jump in his seat. "This is a lot more fun than I anticipated. I didn't expect the finale to be so exciting."

"Fun?" asked the Spaniard, his eyes frowned, his a little misty. "You're a weird man Brick. My finale wasn't fun. In fact, instead of winning, I lose everything. Not that I didn't deserve it."

"And my finale was way too dangerous. At that moment I was too worried about my friends to focus on the challenge. But now seeing the situation in retrospect, flying around and blasting mutants was fun," Cameron smirked as he remembered the event.

Suddenly some barbed wire emerged from the ground and the wheels passed over it.

"Oh no!" shouted Brick expecting to have some flat tires, but nothing happened.

The brainiac chuckled. "Instead of air, I filled the tires with a special foam I created using the robot's fake fur. It should keep the tires going for 5 or 6 more hours."

"You're really a genius, Me alegra que the eliminaramos primero[1]," said Alejandro, nodding with a small smirk.

"Thanks Al, but I don't speak Spanish," replied the brainiac, feeling that the archvillain's comment wasn't a kind one.

The Spaniard smirked, his eyes twitching at his pet name. "I said I'm proud to be working with you."

Brick smiled. With this team he had a good chance to make a comeback. And even if he lost, he was proud of competing at their side.

Courtney and Duncan reached the mud pool. It had a large warning and two hoses in the ground.

"To get the third flag you need to cross this 200 yard (183m.) long mud pool. Beware, it's 8ft(2.4) depth, so try to not drown down there," Courtney rolled her eyes. "Ugh, could it be any worse?"

"P.S. beware of the guardian," Duncan squinted his eyes at the warning, reading the small letter. He then chuckled. "Look, it can be worse."

The Latin girl sighed and frowned at the delinquent.

"Don't get mad princess, this is easy. I will carry you while breathing through the hose. Now smile a little," said Duncan winking.

Courtney pondered the options, but they didn't have time to waste. "Ok, but be careful. I don't want you to get hurt."

He considered mocking her about that comment but decided against it, not being in the mood. In fact, he couldn't forget about that kiss in the Mess hall but decided to not ask about it until the end of the challenge.

Duncan crouched and let the former CIT sit on his shoulder, put the hose in his mouth, gave the other side to Courtney, and stood up.

"I'm still not sure if this is the best idea," said Courtney, getting cold feet as he stood with her at his shoulder. But the delinquent focused on walking into the mud pool and straight to the other side.

As she said, it was a bad idea. Courtney wasn't that heavy, but walking in the mud pool was a horrible experience. He couldn't see, the mud got into his nose, it was hard to breathe, and he needed to put a lot of strength into each step.

While the exes walked through the mud pit, Brick, Cameron, and Alejandro also arrived at the pool.

"They have already crossed 55% of the mud pool. We need to make haste," said Cameron. The young genius took a glance at the equipment and turned to face his teammates. "Alejandro, you need to put a hose in your mouth and carry Brick across the mud pool. It's the best option."

"What!?" Alejandro frowned clearly disgusted by the idea. "you're smaller and lighter. It would be better if Brick crosses with you on his shoulders."

The bubble boy shook his head. "No, that way Brick will finish more tired, and if there is an extra mini-challenge before the goal, he'll be at a disadvantage. With your carrying him, we can save his energy for any last-minute surprises."

"Gentlemen, I know this discussion is important, but we need to start crossing the poo P," Brick put his hands on their shoulders, interrupting them. "So Alejandro, if you don't want to do it, I will carry Cameron."

"Maldita sea[1]," said the archvillain, crouching. "I'll do it, but I won't forgive you if you don't win the million."

"I can't promise that, but I promise to do my best until the end," replied Brick saluting.

In an instant, Brick and Alejandro got in position and began to cross the mud pool. Cameron walked beside them on solid ground.

Even with Alejandro advancing quicker than Duncan, the gap between them was too big. The exes reached the end of the pool. Courtney got out first and helped Duncan to climb out of the mud pool.

"Remind me to never do that again," said Duncan, smirking through ragged breath.

"I will," shouted Courtney as she went for her flag. She was looking around, but there was no sign of the guardian.

She was about to grab her flag when the ground began to shake. From it came out a giant arm, the creature was at least 13 feet (3.96 m) tall. It looked like a sasquatch, with huge metallic arms and some other robotic pieces fused to its body.

At the top of its back, it had a robotic humanoid's torso that looked like an eerie version of Dawn with red eyes and a metallic body. But the part that made Courtney tremble in fear was its torso. In it, the robot had a single red light that pulsed in the same way as the old Supercomputer that controlled the island.

On the center of the island, everyone watched the events dumbfounded.

"Oh my gosh Steve, where did you get the material to build that robot? It looks creepy... and awesome!" Chris chuckled, not noticing the expression on the intern's pale face.

"I'm sorry mister McLean, but the robot we fixed was only a sasquatch robot. The rest of the animal parts and the humanoid on top weren't there this morning," said Steve, sweating a lot.

Scarlett stood up from the bleachers and ran toward Chris.

"McLean, I thought you said there weren't any DAM backups," whispered Scarlett in an angry tone, her eyes bulging and bloodshot.

"What? You don't mean…" replied the host gulping.

The redhead genius tsked after looking at Chris's expression. That meant this was worse than she imagined.

"Then it means DAM found a way to reboot itself and take over a mobile mechanical body without human assistance," Scarlett rubbed her temple. "So do you have a contingency plan to resolve this predicament?"

The host covered his mouth, ignoring the redhead. "Darn it, if someone dies, it'll be the end of the show. Maybe I should try to run away to Brazil or Russia."

"Of course you don't," replied Scarlett to her own answer. This will be a long day.

Back at the third checkpoint, the huge robot was glaring at Courtney and Duncan. The delinquent was smirking while Courtney looked at it with a shocked expression.

"Wow, this thing is quite an ugly one. And Chris said there was no budget for the finale," Duncan whistled while looking at the bizarre robot.

The CIT pulled him back as the robot tried to squash them, pounding the ground with both arms.

"Be careful," shouted Courtney, standing up quickly. "I don't think this is part of the challenge.

Duncan was confused, but before he could ask any question, the robot talked using both the sasquatch and the human head mouths.

"Court-ney! I was looking for you. Y-You'll be the first to pay for mess-ing with MY season," said the robot, their voice sounding like Scarlett.

"I can't believe it. This is why I hate this show," Courtney ran while pulling the delinquent

Duncan was following her, trying to understand the situation, when he suddenly stopped.

"WAIT! If we keep running away, you'll lose the chance to get the flag," said the delinquent, who turned back.

"Are you crazy? How can you think about the challenge at all with a killer robot chasing us?" Replied Courtney in an annoyed tone.

Duncan shook his head. "We aren't sure this ugly robo-monster isn't part of the challenge. And it's chasing YOU, not me. It even said your name. So I can sneak around, get the flag, and then we escape together."

"Too risky," Courtney folded her arms together. "What if…"

"Just keep running, I'll do something about it," Duncan went away before she could reply. Courtney reluctantly continued running toward the cars.

At the same time, Cameron looked with wide eyes at the robot. "I didn't expect that kind of mechanical construction as the guardian of the last checkpoint. The design seems like something built from an impressionist's worst nightmare."

Brick reached the end of the mud pool and helped Alejandro climb out.

"It seems really dangerous. Why is it focusing on Courtney instead of protecting the flags?" asked Brick, watching the scene with concern.

"Who cares? It's our best chance," Alejandro wiped off the mud from his face. "Plain and simple, just take the flag and let's go."

The cadet went toward the mount with the flags and took the green one but watched the huge robot chasing Courtney. "What if there is a problem and the robot is broken and trying to hurt her?"

"It's not an implausible possibility. Even the design of the model is weird. Maybe it malfunctioned and went rogue. In that case, Courtney is in danger," Cameron was also alarmed by the possibility.

"Even if that's true, it's not our problem. It's Chris's problem. We should focus on winning. If the roles were reversed, Courtney wouldn't think twice before running to the goal," said Alejandro facing the cadet.

Brick shook his head. "Sorry Alejandro, but I can't leave a friend behind, even if they're my opponent."

The Spaniard knew it was useless to try to reason with him. "You can be so stupid sometimes, so let's hurry and save her. But once we're sure she isn't in danger, we will run directly to the goal, entendido[1]?"

"Yes sir, thanks," Brick saluted proud of his friend.

The three men ran behind the giant sasquatch-like robot, just as someone else arrived at the place, taking the blue flag and following them.

While this was happening Courtney was running to avoid the robot. She realized it was a bad idea to lead it to the vehicles so she made a small detour, escaping between the trees. The robot didn't stop following her, ripping and chopping the trees with their punches.

"I have been in dangerous challenges before, but this is crazy," muttered Courtney as she avoided a tree that almost crushed her.

"This wou-ld have been the best sea-son ever. Y-You could be the winn-er. Why? Why did you choose the illo-gical option of siding with Chris? You w-were smar-ter than this," said DAM, their voice stuttering and noisy like an old radio.

Courtney hid behind a rock. "Sorry, but I want to win by myself, not by cheating with the help of a megalomaniac AI."

"That's non-sense. You never ca-red about the means," the robot crushed the ground with its fists, trying to find her. "W-Why now did you decide to start act-ing like some s-s-silly hero-ine?"

"That's easy. Because I realize winning by any means isn't worth it. A victory like that would be meaningless in the end," replied the former CIT, crouching and changing her hiding spot.

Things seemed grim for her. The robot would catch her soon if she didn't find a way to keep running.

"Hahaha! That's a bunch of NONSENSE, but I can't hate you for thinking like that, foolish girl. Now step back while I stop the behemoth," someone shouted while dramatically appearing from behind a tree.

Courtney didn't expect this. She just smiled while looking at the stranger. "Thanks for the help, but who are you?"

"I'm your EVIL savior, you ignorant nincompoop. But let's talk later. It's time to show who is the real evil in this island," said the small man, as he pressed a button in his remote control.

DAM winced and trashed around before fixing its 5 eyes into the evil genius.

"M-Max? Such a pes-ky and useless rat get-ting in my way. GIVE ME THAT REMOTE!" shouted the robot, sounding just like Scarlett when they shouted at Max.

Before the robot could go against him, it was hit in one of the sasquatch's eyes by a rock, crushing it.

"Not so fast," said Brick, holding some rocks. "They aren't alone."

At the same time, Alejandro arrived in the jeep. From the oversized trunk emerged a big purple tentacle that grasped the robot, immobilizing it.

"DON'T G-GET IN MY WAY, or I will also cru-sh you," DAM threatened them while trying in vain to burst the tentacle.

But the tentacle wasn't strong enough to crush the robot. It was just a matter of time before DAM got free. Cameron was the first to notice this and ran toward Max.

"Quickly, let me see that control."

Max glared at the brainiac. "What? Of course not! It's mine!"

"Please, it's a matter of life or death. The control disturbed the robot's behavior pattern. I'm sure I can program it to shut it down for good," said Cameron looking fiercely at him.

"Ok, but you will need to become my sidekick," said Max in a conceited tone.

"GIVE ME THE REMOTE CONTROL," shouted Cameron, as they didn't have time for this.

The evil genius looked at him, awed. "Here it is, sidekick."

The brainiac decided to not argue and work to get the control functioning.

In the meantime, Brick and Courtney were throwing rocks at the robot, but they couldn't do any significant damage.

"We need a better plan," said Brick, as he threw a bigger rock at the robot.

Courtney smiled, "I have an idea. Just wait here."

She then took a big rock and began to run toward the entrance of the third checkpoint. But unexpectedly for her, she found someone in the way.

"Fancy meeting you, princess," Duncan was running in the opposite direction. He was carrying a blue flag in his hands and a shovel in the other.

He gave her the flag. "Take this, run toward the car, and go directly toward the goal."

"What? Brick and the others are fighting that robot. I can't abandon them," Courtney looked upset at the delinquent.

Duncan rolled his eyes. "I'll go and help them, but you have to go and win the challenge. It's the best chance. Once you arrive at the goal, drive back here if you're still concerned."

The former CIT wanted to say something, but he kissed her forehead and ran toward the woods. Duncan waved at her one last time."Just focus on winning"

Courtney ran toward the car with a heavy heart, still carrying both the rock and the flag. With Brick in the fight, it was an easy decision. She just needed to go to the goal and back.

After a moment of hesitation, she turned on the engine.

In the woods, the situation was worsening at the minute. DAM was stretching the tentacle more and more. It was just a matter of time before they freed themselves.

"There must be a way to stop it," shouted Brick to Alejandro. "Can't you drive away with it?"

"I tried but it's too heavy," said Alejandro. He tried to speed up, but the jeep didn't move a single inch.

Suddenly the robot had enough space to free one of its arms and pulled the tentacle toward them. Alejandro jumped off the jeep seconds before DAM crushed it against the ground, freeing themselves.

"Puny hu-mans, I'll show you t-the difference *bzzzt* between us," said DAM, their voice sounding less like Scarlett and more mechanical. It has some damage after Brick multiple attacks, but not enough to stop it.

"You're too arrogant for an oversized washing machine," shouted someone, falling from a tree and crushing the sasquatch head with a shovel.

"Duncan? You arrived just in time, soldier," Brick used the chance to hit DAM with another rock in the middle of its humanoid head.

The delinquent took off the shovel and hit DAM again. "What can I say? Heroes always arrive at the last moment."

But suddenly, Duncan felt a giant hand grasping him. It was too fast to avoid it.

DAM lifted him and began to crush him. "You stupid human *bzzzt*. W-Why every one of you is so idi-otic and-and stubborn? I'll start with you."

Duncan tried to think of a smart comeback, but he didn't have enough air to utter a word. He began to feel the strength of the robot as it tried to squish him. Maybe jumping over it was a bad idea after all. At least Courtney was safe.

Then the purple Sedan arrived. Courtney jumped from it leaving the rock on the gas pedal. It sped up and crashed in the middle of DAM's chest, forcing it to release Duncan.

He was caught by Brick as Courtney arrived at their side.

"Are you crazy?! I told you to win the challenge," shouted the delinquent, frowning at the former CIT.

"YES, and I decided to instead come and rescue you. So what? Sue me!" shouted Courtney's also frowning.

"Hahaha, yes, you're right. Thank you princess, you really saved me this time," Duncan laughed. Somehow he was so obsessed with helping her win the game that he forgot what was really important.

Brick gulped. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think it's not over yet."

DAM stood up. After the crash, it lost one of its sasquatch arms and most of the fur that covered the mechanical body. Only one of the sasquatch eyes was still working on what remained of their head, and the human torso in its back was completely crushed and fell off.

"I'll exter-minate you even *bzzzt* if it's the last thing I d-do *bzzzt*," said the mechanical robot, ripping a tree from the ground.

There was no time to run away. Brick, Duncan, and Courtney just prepared themselves to try to avoid the tree the best they could.

"NOT SO FAST!" shouted Cameron, pressing the control on its hand. "I'll not let you harm anyone here. Science is for helping people, not hurting them."

The AI didn't hear the last part of Cameron's discourse. DAM didn't have time to scream after the brainiac pressed the button. In nanoseconds, the machine turned off. Without any other backup body, DAM's conscience faded into the void.

It was over.

On the central stage, Chris hugged Scarlett. "I can't believe it! They did it." He then recovered his composure. "Ehem. But if anyone asks, it was part of the challenge."

"You're aware that to keep this matter undisclosed, you need to increase my compensation, right?" asked Scarlett, smirking.

Chris coughed and looked at the screen. "But it's too soon for that. First, we need to end the season."

Back in the woods, Courtney and Duncan went toward their savior.

"Cameron you're a genius," said Courtney, jumping and hugging the brainiac.

"Hehehe, I was just lucky. I'm glad it worked," Cameron blushed, not expecting so much affection.

Max appeared behind him, clearing his throat. "Ehem, well-done sidekick, but aren't you forgetting something?"

"Oh yes, it was also thanks to Max. He was the one who designed the remote control to stop the robot," said Cameron, patting Max's shoulder.

"Well done gnome. It seems your big head isn't just for show," Duncan patted the evil genius head.

"Hands off, you plebs," shouted Max smacking the delinquent's hand and blushing. "And your inane praises aren't necessary but are welcome."

Brick saluted him while helping Alejandro to walk toward them. "You really saved us back there Max, you deserve the medal of bravery."

"Hahaha, of course I deserve it," said the supervillain proudly, but then shook his head. "NO, I'm an EVIL genius. I don't deserve any heroic treatment."

Everyone laughed. After a moment, Courtney looked at Brick.

"It seems it'll be a race for the million, soldier," said Courtney, saluting.

"Yes ma'am, I'm sorry, but I'm quite a good runner. I'll beat you on this one," replied Brick returning the salute.

The evil genius ran and pulled Brick by the hand. "Nonsense, you still have ME. Take this, I borrowed it from that insufferable Jay. Use it and win."

Max then gave the skateboard to Brick. Everyone gasped.

Courtney knew that if he used that, there was no chance to win the race. Brick also looked concerned. "But-"

"NO BUTS," Alejandro put his hands firmly on the cadet's shoulders. "You even went out of your way to save them from that robot. Enough is enough, just take the skateboard and win. Or are you trying to lose on purpose?"

Brick nodded and gazed at Courtney one last time. The former CIT just shrugged as the cadet went away on the skateboard.

"It seems I'll end in second after all," muttered the Latin girl. Alejandro and Max didn't look at her while Cameron rubbed her back.

"I won't be so sure," said Duncan, who was carrying something from the wreckage of the Princess Racer.

He put it on the road. It was a bike folded to be as small as a box. In two movements, he assembled it.

"It's not big, but it's enough to carry you to the million," Duncan smirked as Courtney jumped over it.

"Thanks, Duncan," she said, speeding up behind the soldier. "I'll catch him in a moment."

"NO, you don't! It's not fair-" Alejandro tried to stop her, but someone stood in his way, looking fiercely at him.

"It's fair. They were ready for this kind of setback, so they deserve at least the chance of winning the prize," said Cameron, looking fiercely at the much taller Spaniard.

Alejandro pushed him. "You traitor, you're supposed to be Brick's helper."

"Yes, and I'm his helper, but I'm also sure he won't be happy winning like this. Courtney had the chance but didn't do anything to stop him, did she?" Cameron almost fell to the ground after he was pushed, being weaker than Alejandro. But he stood on his feet, with his arms extended.

"Sigh, I give up. There is no use in fighting amongst ourselves," said Alejandro, shrugging. "You have grown a lot of guts, small friend."

"Thanks for understanding," replied Cameron, looking in the direction of the goal.

Duncan, meanwhile, was looking at the road. He did all that he could. Lucky enough, his arm was still in its place. Now it depended on her.

On the finish line, everyone was looking at the road waiting for the finalists. The screen over the scenario was turned off to make the race more exciting.

"And we're right now at the end of the challenge. Both finalists are on the last stretch," said Chris in an excited tone.

"They should be almost here, right? The tension is killing me," said Sammy, looking at the road.

"Don't worry Samantha, Courtney will be here soon. There is no way she will lose this challenge," said Heather, patting her back.

"Ha, in your dreams, old Heather, Brickhead had a nice lead. It's a matter of time before he wins this game," Jo smirked, giving a dirty glare to Heather.

The Asian girl tossed her braid at the jockette. "You're as crude as always. I'm just waiting to see your face once the challenge is over."

"I can't believe it, but I agree with you. I can't wait to see your ugly mug once the race is over," replied Jo, facing the Asian girl.

"Shut up, you two, someone is over there," said LeShawna pointing at the last straight.

Chris' face beamed. "And the first to appear is BRICK. Look at him going down the road on that skateboard. It seems we have a winner!"

"Hey! That's my board!" shouted Jay, but no one listened to him. Everyone was focused on the cadet.

"Or maybe not! Courtney is just behind him on a bike. You kids never cease to amuse me, and she's a lot faster than him," shouted the host in an excited tone. "But Brick is so close to the goal."

Brick was focused on crossing the finish line. He put his body forward, trying to gain as much speed as he could, he never looked back, but the noise made it obvious that Courtney was coming closer to him.

Courtney sped up as much as she could. She was reckless, but it wasn't enough. Brick was about to cross the finish line. She pedaled with all the strength she could gather in a last attempt to win.

And after some seconds that for both felt like ages, the challenge was over.
