DISCLAIMER:

Welcome one last time. I proudly present the last episode of Total Drama Tyranny of the Masses.

And now that it's over remember If you liked it, mark it as a favorite, and leave a review with your thoughts, what you enjoy, what you didn't. I hope it at least brought a smile to your face. Before starting the end, let me answer the last week's reviews.

theswenuser: I'm happy you liked it. I think putting the alternate ending is a nice way to say both endings are ok. I hope it surprised you.

amit. avrashmi: Here it's the original ending. It's not exactly like Brick's ending, but I hope you enjoyed it all the same.

Fernanda15fa: And now Courtney's victory, I hope you enjoy it. And About Scott and Dawn, I always felt weird for Dawn to keep a grudge. I think if someone could forgive Scott was her.

Rrwdo: Yes, she deserved it (or at least she deserved it in this one)

AwesomeCream810: Don't worry, I love to read your reviews, but write them when you can. The ending is not exactly like the last one, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

Finally, a BIGGER THAN LIFE shoutout to Geofics, who helped me proofread the episodes for more than a year. Thanks for helping me to make this story even more amazing. Words can't express my gratitude.

It was the final leg of the race. Brick was going down the road as fast as he could on the skateboard, with Courtney chasing after him on her bike.

The cadet was closer to the finish line, so he pushed his body forward, trying to pass the line before his opponent. But Courtney was getting closer to the goal, so she decided to give her all and pedal faster and faster.

"And we have a winn-" Chris began to celebrate before something crashed against him.

Brick and Courtney both passed over the goal line simultaneously, with Courtney going so fast that she couldn't break on time and crashed into the host.

Brick stopped his skateboard, and like everyone in the scene was waiting expectantly at the results. The only sound that could be heard was Chris' groans and moans of pain.

The host stood up, composing himself and smiling. "And the first one to cross the goal and Total Drama Tyranny of the Masses winner is... Courtney!" he then helped her to stand up. "I can't believe it. It seems the fifth time's the charm."

She stood there, stunned by the news. If it was a dream, she didn't want to wake up.

The scene filled with cheers and applause as everybody began to congratulate the Latin girl.

"I WIN!" she shouted, raising her arms. Even if she was smiling, the tears didn't stop running across her cheeks.

Heather tossed her braid, hitting Jo in the face and leaving a red mark. "Hmph! See, it's just as I told you. It's so hard to be smart and beautiful."

"Fuck you old Heather," shouted Jo, flipping a bird at the Asian girl, but Heather just ignored her.

Meanwhile, everyone was celebrating the victory of the former CIT.

"I can't believe it. You really won. I know we aren't on the best terms but congratulations," said Beth, making a big smirk.

"Don't worry Beth, at least for me everything is water under the bridge. So if you and Linds want to, we can start again," said Courtney, returning the smile to Beth.

"Of course, I prefer to make friends than enemies," said Beth, shaking Courtney's hand firmly and repeatedly. The former CIT smile turned into a concerned frown.

"Oh my gosh, Sadie. I never thought I would be so happy for her!" said Katie, drying a tear.

Sadie nodded. "Me too! Sometimes reality is weirder than fiction." The chubby BFFF was silent for a moment and then added, "but who cares, GROUP HUG!"

"Congratulations Miss CIT," said Rodney, being the first to hug her.

Everyone around then went and hugged Courtney. Her first thought was that the hug was a waste of time, but after putting those thoughts in the back of her mind, she started to enjoy it.

After a pair of minutes, Chris interrupted them.

"Ok kids, follow me to the campfire for the last elimination ceremony," he then got on Chef's jeep, who drove him toward the campfire.

The group hug dissolved. She was looking around for someone when she was hugged and thrown into the air.

"Hahaha, Congratulations, princess. We're rich!" said Duncan, catching her.

"You Ogre! Put me down!" shouted Courtney, startled by the sudden throw. Once on the ground, she shook her clothes. "And who said I will share anything with you?"

Duncan smirked, locking his blue eyes on hers. "Every Queen needs a King."

Courtney smiled inwardly. "Queen… That sounds better than princess," then her expression darkened. "Are you sure of what you're saying?"

"I am. I decided to stop lying to myself. That's why I decided to live as a nice person instead of a bad guy."

"When did you start living like a nice guy?"

"What? During the competition. I was the nicest guy around."

"You were a little better than before, but you were still a jerk," replied Courtney, chuckling.

"It's a work in progress. But at least I made you laugh," said the delinquent.

Courtney sighed. She then looked at him. "Can you give me some time to think about it?"

"All the time you need my queen," Duncan bowed deeply and gracefully, but his sarcastic smirk betrayed him.

"Hahaha, I think I prefer princess after all," replied the former CIT. She then offered a hand to him. "Can you come with me to the campfire?"

He nodded, and then they began to walk holding hands. Some campers looked at them with curiosity. For Duncan, it was the only thing he could do. Now it was up to Courtney to see if she would take him back or not.

Every contestant and peanut gallery member was at the campfire, sitting in the logs and stumps in front of Chris. The host was smiling and holding a suitcase.

Some people looked excited, like Lightning, Sammy, or Zoey. While others seemed annoyed, like Jo, Anne Maria, and Blaineley. Next to Chris were Brick and Courtney.

"We did it plain girl! Angry girl won the game! GO TEAM LIGHTNING!" said Lightning, throwing Zoey into the air.

"Hahaha, you're right, Go team Lightning," shouted Zoey, who then frowned, "plain? I mean, I'm everything but plain, right?"

Blaineley rolled her eyes. "I can't believe they could be so happy even though they didn't win the million. Such a waste of time."

"That's the reason why you can't be a good host, old hag. Because you aren't empathic," said Anne Maria, filing her nails.

"Oh, what a smart comeback. If that's true, tell me why a person like Chris is hosting the show?" replied Blaineley clenching her teeth and pointing at the host.

Anne Maria opened her mouth to say something and then closed it. After a moment, she said. "Touche, you're right, and I was mistaken. Whateva."

"As long as you realize it," said Blaineley, her face beaming after winning a round against that Snooky wannabe.

At the front, Chris advanced and looked at Courtney with a smirk.

"After 6 weeks and one of the most wicked and eventful seasons ever. It's my pleasure to give this case containing ONE MILLION DOLLARS to the last camper standing, Courtney," said Chris in an excited tone. "I'm sure you were waiting for this moment."

Courtney took the case from Chris' hands and hugged it with enthusiasm. She still couldn't believe this was happening.

Brick saluted her. "Congratulations ma'am. It was an honor to compete against you."

"Thanks Brick," Courtney released the case and hugged the cadet. "It was the best finale yet. I'm still surprised I could beat you."

"You won fair and square ma'am," said Brick, letting her go. "But next time I'll beat you … probably.

Chris coughed. "And Courtney, I also want to give you this, the ultimate symbol of survival on this island. The final marshmallow, congratulations," then he tossed the small treat to the former CIT.

"And after 5 seasons she got her money. Talk about not having anything better to do," said Chef as he rolled his eyes.

"Now, I just want to say some words," Courtney took out a long piece of paper and began to read. "As historian Plato once said, the first and greatest victory is to conquer yourself; to be conquered by yourself is of all things most shameful and vile. And I think this lesson is something that I wouldn't have learned if I didn't participate in this show. There were a lot of hard and painful moments, many of them my own fault, but every one of them is a brick that built the person I am now…"

She then looked at the other contestants, few were paying attention, but most looked bored or annoyed. She then tossed her discourse aside. "Ok, ok, sorry old habits die hard. In summary, thanks to everyone who supported me, and let's have a big celebration party!"

"Woohoo! Girl now you're talking my language," said LeShawna raising an arm.

B took out a party horn and blew it. The small piece of paper was actually an invention that made a loud sound and shined in golden color.

Then DJ, Beardo, and Lightning surrounded the host.

"Chris, you seem a little cold in that ugly shirt. So put on this sha-vest," Lightning then took out a vest of failure as the other two men held him.

"Ugly? This shirt is a classic!" Chris's anger turned quickly into fear. "Wait, What are you doing with that vest? STOP IT! CHEF!"

Chef, instead of helping him, chuckled at his misfortune. "What are you saying Chris? I think that vest really suits you."

"You can't do this to me, I can't get my hair wet!" protested the host, but the trio ignored him, put the vest on him, and raised him over their shoulders.

Steve flew over them using the jetpack and hooked Chris's vest, pulling him into the water.

"STOOOOglugluigl!" shouted the host before being submerged into the lake and carried around by the chubby intern.

All the campers and Chef laughed at him until Chef realized the trio was looking at him.

"Stop right there guys, I'm fine I don't need a vest, NOOOOO!" shouted Chef, as the brickhouse with a heart and his friends chased him with an extra-large vest of shame on their arms.

Brick was watching the scene, chuckling when someone walked to his side.

"And tell me, mi amigo, are you satisfied?"

Brick turned around and saluted him, "Hello Alejandro. Thanks for your help today."

"Thanks, you say? Why? You lost the million," asked The Spaniard in a cold tone.

"Even then, we did our best effort."

"But that wasn't enough."

"Sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose. The important thing is never to give up until the end."

Alejandro walked toward Brick, jabbing his finger against his chest."That isn't true. You would have won if you just left her behind against that stupid Sasquatch."

"What? But I couldn't leave her. She was in danger."

"It was a challenge, and also Cameron and I were there to help her. You just needed to take the flag and drive to the goal, or even run toward it," the Spaniard's words were filled with distress and repressed frustration.

"Sorry Alejandro, but my code is to never leave anyone behind. So even if it cost me 1 million dollars or 100 million, I wouldn't leave her," said Brick. His words were serene, but his eyes filled with passion.

"I can't believe it. You just give up your victory for your principles?"

"Of course, I'll not betray my code again. Isn't it the same for you? Would you betray your principles for a million dollars?"

The Spaniard stood there, stunned. Principles? What were his principles? Alejandro Burromuerto always adapted and changed his beliefs to what would give him the best profit. But even after his success, why did he feel so empty?

Alejandro chuckled. "I'm not sure if you're an idiot or a genius, but you're right. Maybe there are things more important than money and wealth."

"That's not something nice to call a friend," said Brick rubbing his head after being called an idiot.

"Sorry amigo, I was just jealous."

"Jealous?"

"Yes, because even after losing a million dollars, you're still happy and satisfied."

"Well isn't as if I didn't win anything."

"You did?" asked Alejandro tilted his head.

Brick put a hand on the Spaniard's shoulder. "Yes, I won a lot of things. For example, thanks to the show, I met you my friend, and that is worth a million bucks easily."

"Realmente eres un idiota[1]," replied the Spaniard.

"Hey! I don't need to know Spanish to understand that," replied the cadet in an upset tone.

Both men then laughed.

"Are you laughing after losing? Are you crazy?" asked a feminine voice.

"Heather, mi amor," said Alejandro, making a charming smile.

Brick nodded. "There is nothing wrong with losing, as long as you win as a person."

"Yes, yes, nice excuse. But did you realize that you lost because you chose this guy as your helper, right? Such a beginner's mistake," said the Asian girl, pointing at her boyfriend.

"What?" asked Alejandro, shocked.

Brick frowned. "Ma'am I'm sure he did his best during the game. The reason we lo…"

"Stop defending him. He lost the final of the 3rd season, and again when he was a helper during the 5th season, this is the third time he lost a final," said Heather, tossing her braid.

"But mi amor. You can't blame me for what happened with Mal, and talking about World tou-"

"Stop making excuses. You're lucky I'm crazy in love with you and will be at your side, or you will probably end up living under a bridge," Heather then kissed him.

Brick chuckled, and Alejandro was speechless.

"Now let's go. I want to be at the party and enjoy rubbing Court's victory in some people's faces," said Heather walking away.

"I don't know what you see in her," said the cadet, still awed by Heather's strong personality.

The Spaniard chuckled. "I have my ways, but I just love her feisty personality. Let's go, my friend."

Alejandro ran a little to catch up with Heather as someone hit Brick on the arm.

"Here you're Brickhead, we were looking for you everywhere, the damn boat to nonsense name island is about to leave," said Jo.

Brick rubbed his arm. "Thanks Jo. So you were worried about me?"

"Worried? Ha, I just wanted to laugh at your defeat, but it seems you're fine as always. How can you be so positive all the damn time?"

"I'm not positive. I simply live by my own rules."

"Same old Brickhead. I wonder when you will grow up."

"If growing up means to betray my code, then I'll never grow up," said Brick, looking fiercely at her.

"Hahahah, then maybe I should start calling you Brick-er Pan, the idiot that never grows up," she smirked and patted his back. "Even then, I don't hate that side of you."

"I also like that straightforward attitude of you, ma'am," said Brick, nodding. "We may have our differences, but I wouldn't want anyone else as my rival."

Jo blushed, "Keep babbling cadet, you may be winning right now with that fancy second place. But next time, I will beat you. Memorize my back because, in the future, you will see it a lot."

Saying this she started to run, not wanting to show Brick her face.

"Challenge accepted ma'am, but I'm not losing against you," Brick ran behind her.

After the small race, they reached the boat, even before Heather and Alejandro. With all aboard the boat parted from Pahkitew island. Total Drama's seventh season, Tyranny of the Masses, was over.

One month later, The sandcastle, Vancouver, Canada.

The place was a popular party venue located at Kitsilano beach in Vancouver, near English Bay. The big two-story building was a popular location for meetings and reunions.

But tonight, the whole place was reserved for a BIG celebration. There were people everywhere. Some partying inside the building and others cheering and dancing on the beach next to it.

A tanned woman was waiting outside. She arrived more than 20 minutes ago. Her brunette hair was done in a curly updo and she had little makeup, wearing a green pencil skirt, white shirt, and a green jacket. She felt butterflies in her stomach.

Maybe I should turn back and go back home, thought the girl, did she dress too much for the occasion? And also, did her date stand her?

"Courtney, I'm so glad you are here," said a woman, jumping up and hugging the Latin girl.

It was a blond woman with a ponytail, dressed in a sleeveless blue top and a blue yoke skirt with indigo shorts under it.

"Bridgette," Courtney also hugged her. "I missed you."

"And look at you! After winning the season, you came here dressed as a princess," said the surfer girl after letting her go. "You look wonderful."

The former CIT blushed. Bridgette was the same as always. "And also congratulations on placing second in the Australian World Battle."

"Hahaha, yes, yes. It was awesome, but not as much as you winning the latest season of Total Drama," the surfer teased Courtney. She then put her hand in front of her as if she was holding a microphone. "And, tell us Mrs. Courtney, how do you feel after accomplishing your life goal?"

"Stop that!" said Courtney in a playful tone. "I feel good, thanks Mrs. Bridgette. It's funny because this time, I think I wouldn't mind losing because I found something more important."

The surfer girl squinted at her, "Hahaha! How convenient you say that just after you win the million dollars."

"Hey, it's true!"

"I know, I'm only pulling your leg," replied Bridgette, winking. "But let's go inside. It's your party, after all."

Both friends entered the venue, and Courtney's eyes went wide.

The place was illuminated by lights of multiple colors. There was dry ice smoke, balloons, and many people dancing to the loud rock music.

And by many people, it was TOO MANY people. The former CIT looked at her friend with a confused expression. "You say it was a private party with only some friends to celebrate your second place in the surf competition and my first place in the show!"

"Yes."

"You call this SOME friends? There are more than THREE HUNDRED people here!"

Bridgette raised her arms, looking at her friend with half-closed eyes. "Calm down! I invited some of my friends and some friends from the show. Geoff also invited some of his friends from back home and some from the Ridonculous Race, including Owen. Owen also invited some friends from other reality shows and also Izzy. Izzy invited some of her-"

"STOP!" shouted Courtney, rubbing her temple. "I understand, so in the end, our private party has more guests than my graduation party."

"Maybe?" replied the surfer girl, showing a sheepish smile.

"I'm going back home."

"Oh c'mon Court, don't be a party popper," Bridgette followed her. "Also, you're one of the honor guests. It's OUR party. I'm sorry there are so many people, but I promise it'll be fun. Please do it for me." She watched her friend with puppy eyes.

The Latin girl sighed, "No, I know this kind of party, it'll grow out of control like the-"

Bridgette continued looking at her with puppy eyes.

"NO! And stop looking at me like that. There is no way you can talk me into staying."

The surfer girl just looked at her, tears forming in her big blue eyes.

"I give up," said Courtney, defeated. "I'll stay so stop looking at me with those damned eyes."

"Thank you Court, you're the best," Bridgette jumped up and hugged her friend. "Now let's go and have some fun."

The blond girl dragged Courtney to the food table, so they could catch up and maybe find Geoff and the others.

After talking with Bridge, Courtney was more relaxed. She always thought parties like this were a waste of time. Social events are to create connections and do business, not to have fun. But that was no longer the case. The new Courtney was trying to have fun at the party but was afraid of not knowing how. But at least she was having a great time talking with her old friend.

However, there was someone she wanted to meet. Courtney was looking around when a man came closer to her and Bridgette.

"MAN, I can't believe it! Is Courtney actually smiling at a party? Maybe I drank too much," said the man hugging her.

She was startled by the man's loud voice, but her expression turned quickly into one of excitement. "Geoff! C'mon, it's not that weird to see me smiling."

Geoff was dressed like always, a pink open shirt with his classic cowboy hat, but instead of his shorts, he was wearing denim pants.

"Congratulations on winning the million. It was about time," the blond man hugged her more tightly. "You were awesome out there."

"Thanks Geoff. You're as kind as ever."

Geoff let her go and put a hand on another man's shoulder. He was a tanned, brown-haired man she didn't know. Dressed in a pink tank top and blue shorts, with a star tattoo on his arm.

"This is Brody, my brotha born from anotha motha!" said Geoff patting his friend's shoulder. "Brody, this is Court, Bridge's bestie."

Brody gave her a strong handshake."Tcha' Nice to meet ya sister. Wow man! she doesn't seem as stuck-up as you told me."

"Really? Oh thanks," replied Courtney, forcing a smile.

"Very welcome, but you are as hot as Geoff said. Congratz on winning total drama, you rock!" Brody pointed some finger guns at her, unaware of the drama he was causing.

Bridgette elbowed her boyfriend. "What did you tell Brody about her?"

"Ouch! I just told him the basics. I swear it was some well-intentioned comments," said Geoff rubbing his neck while frowning at the ground.

While the couple bickered, Courtney tried to keep a civil conversation.

"Thanks, I heard you and Geoff competed together in the Ridonculous Race show. How was it?" asked the former CIT, trying to change the subject.

"Oh it was AWESOME! The challenges were cool. We traveled to a lot of dope places and met some GOAT people," said Brody in a loud voice, his eyes sparkling.

Courtney tried her hardest to understand what he was saying( and failed). "Oh, that sounds very fun."

"And also I met my blue angel, MacArthur. She is the best girl out there, with so much energy. She looks just like you, only whiter, bigger, without freckles, with a rounder face, and a bit taller than you."

"So she actually doesn't look anything like me?"

"Well, both have big eyes and brunette hair," said Brody with a dreamy expression. "Like two peas in a pod."

After hearing that, Geoff quickly put an arm across his friend's shoulders."Hehehe, sorry to but in Court, but we have more guests to greet. So Brody and I will go for now. I hope to see you later."

Saying this Geoff pulled his friend away as he waved at the Latin girl. "Nice to meet you sister, see ya."

"Nice to meet you too," said Courtney completely perplexed. She then turned around to face her friend. "Hey Bridge, do you have MacArthur's picture? That guy Brody said she looked like me, and now I'm curious."

Bridge's eyes went wide, and she shook her head. "Oh no, sorry. I don't have any. Maybe I can ask Geoff later," lied the blond girl. She didn't have any intention of showing her MacArthur's picture.

"Who is this MacArthur you are talking about?"

Courtney was both happy and annoyed when she heard that voice.

"DUNCAN, You're late! Didn't you tell me to be here by 18:00? It's 20:00," asked the Latin girl.

He was dressed in black jeans, a short-sleeved white t-shirt, and a black vest. His outfit showed his forearms tattoos.

"I'm sorry there was a traffic jam," said Duncan as he took a sandwich from the table.

"I came in a taxi, and there was no traffic jam," Courtney glared at him and folded her arms together.

Duncan smirked and shrugged. "I'm truly sorry princess, I promise there is a good reason behind me getting late." Then he turned and waved at Bridgette. "Also hello Malibu, congratulations on losing the final of the Australian World Battle."

"Thanks. Duncan, I'm also glad to meet you. You're the same as always," said Bridgette in a cold tone.

"Sorry to not stay and talk, but I got here late, so I want to make up for the lost time and get onto the dance floor," Duncan took Courtney's hand and pulled her. "See you later Malibu."

"D-Duncan wait-" Courtney was taken by surprise and pulled away. She looked apologetically at Bridgette, "sorry Bridge see you later."

Bridgette waved and sighed. Was it right to let Courtney be with Duncan? She didn't really like Duncan, even if Geoff considered him a close friend. But in the end, it was Courtney's decision.

On the dance floor, Duncan began to dance in front of a flabbergasted Courtney.

"Are you crazy? You can't just come here and force me to dance with you. I was talking with Bridge," Courtney glared at him.

"Sorry princess. I just wanted to have some fun together. If you really want to, we can go back," said Duncan looking at her eyes and rubbing his neck. "But I would love to dance with you, even if it's one song."

She sighed. "One song."

Duncan made a big smile, and they began to dance. His moves were exaggerated, silly, or both. Courtney didn't know the catchy pop song they were dancing to but did her best to move to the rhythm. Neither she nor Duncan were really great dancers, but both did their best.

"You're as silly as ever," chuckled Courtney while dancing

"And you finally learned how to move your booty."

"What are you saying? I have always been a great dancer."

"Yes princess, of course."

"In fact I'm one of the best dancers I know."

Both then laughed and kept dancing for more time. Courtney let herself have fun and enjoy the music and the moment.

After the 7th song, both were sweating and grinning dopely.

"Wow princess, I can't believe you're keeping my pace," smirked Duncan.

"I told you I'm a great dancer," said Courtney raising her head proudly.

He took a deep breath and looked at her eyes. "Courtney, I-"

Before he could end his sentence, the delinquent was interrupted by Geoff, who was talking through the loudspeakers.

"Hello Everyone, Are you having FUN?" shouted the party guy.

"YEEESSSS!" shouted the guests.

"Great timing Geoff," mumbled Duncan, frowning.

Geoff was unaware of that drama and continued with his discourse. "Because tonight we have some special guests to make this party even more AWESOME. I met these bros years ago, and they're awesome people, but I'm sure you also know them, the Fab Four from Toronto, THE DRAMA BROTHERS."

Cody, Harold, Justin, and Trent entered the stage. The four were wearing white pants and white shoes, but different shirts. Cody wore a short-sleeved t-shirt, Harold a long white coat, Justin a white v-neck that showed part of his tanned chest, and Trent a white turtleneck shirt.

The public went crazy, but the band's presence has a different meaning for a person on the dance floor.

"It's Trent," said Courtney, looking at him with wide eyes.

"I'm more handsome," replied Duncan, glaring at the guitarist.

"Don't be silly. If he is here, maybe Gwen is also here. They were together in the Ridonculous Race."

"And?"

"And it's my chance to talk with her," Courtney held Duncan's hand. "Please help me find her."

"C'mon princess. They aren't an item. Just because Elvis is here doesn't mean Gwen will also be at the party," said the delinquent, rolling his eyes.

"Please Duncan," Courtney looked at him with the same puppy eyes Bridgette used with her.

The delinquent winced. "Ok, I'll go and look around, but stop looking at me like that."

Both then went around looking for either Gwen, if she was in the party, or Geoff and Bridgette, who would know if the Goth girl was invited.

Courtney was nervous. When she entered Tyranny of the masses, she did it only to meet with Gwen and apologize. But for once the CIT didn't have a plan. She was only imitating what the goth did in All-stars season.

But now, after those 6 weeks, she wasn't the same person. She put to sleep her inner demons and learned how to face herself, her past, and her future. What she was doing now wasn't just an imitation of what her former friend did. It was her own decision.

"Hey girl. Where is the fire?" a person greeted her.

The Latin girl turned and smiled. "Hello LeShawna, how are you?"

The black girl wore a black sleeveless shirt and a long black skirt that hugged her curves. She also had big golden ring earrings.

"As fabulous as ever, just look at me," said LeShawna, dancing a little. "And you, did you lose your punk?"

"Hahaha, no. I was actually looking for Gwen. Do you know if she came to the party?" asked Courtney, trying to sound casual and failing miserably.

LeShawna smiled. "I was just talking with her. She went out to get some air." The sister then came closer to her, whispering. "If you go out now you can meet her without so many people around."

"Thanks LeShawna." Courtney gave her a small hug and ran outside. "See you later."

"I swear that poor girl it's becoming more and more like Duncan," said LeShawna, shaking her head. "Poor thing."

Courtney went outside. She was so focused on fixing this last regret in her heart that she couldn't think clearly. So when she found Gwen, looking at the moonless dark sky, she was petrified.

It was weird. Gwen was wearing the same cyan highlights as ever along with her goth makeup. But instead of her classic outfit, she was wearing a black and green tank top and an asymmetric black skirt with black stockings.

What should Courtney say? In front of her was the person who betrayed her, became her friend, and then she betrayed. Would she listen to her apology?

But it was too late to regret it.

"Good Evening Gwen, fancy meeting you here," said Courtney trying to sound calm.

"Good Evening Courtney, it's been a while," replied Gwen in a neutral tone.

"Yes indeed," Courtney was confused by her tone. "You don't seem too surprised."

The goth shrugged, "Well, this party is to celebrate Bridgette's second place and your victory in Total Drama, so I assumed you would be here." Gwen then turned and made a small smile. "By the way, congratulations on winning a season. I hope winning was as good as you expected."

"Thanks," Courtney was shocked. Was Gwen sarcastic or honest?

They then stood silent, both looking at the sky. It was an awkward silence. The more time they were together, the harder it became for Courtney to apologize.

The Latin girl tried to make some small talk. "Such a shame, today there isn't a single cloud in the sky, but it's a moonless night."

"Really? I prefer new moon nights," said Gwen, her eyes fixed in the sky. "There is something magical in a sky only filled with stars."

"Magical? Yes, that's one way of seeing it," Courtney looked at the sky. In the past words like magical sounded silly to her, not caring about what others thought.

This reminded her how she never cared about what other people thought or felt. This was the reason why every one of her relationships, romantic or not, failed.

So she decided to do a little more small talk before apologizing.

"Also congratulations. I heard you and Trent reached the finale of the Ridonculous Race. I promise to watch it once it airs," said Courtney, looking at her instead of the sky.

"Thanks, we aren't supposed to talk about it until the season is aired, but it was a great experience," Gwen didn't look at her, still focusing on the sky.

There was another awkward silence, but this time Courtney was ready. She took a deep breath and continued.

"You know, I have been thinking a lot after what happened back then and…" she stood silent, trying to find the right words. "And I wanted to apologize for betraying you in All-Stars."

The goth looked at her. "Wait, are you apologizing?"

"Yes, I promised to take you to the finale when I didn't mean it. So I wanted to apologize for it. I hurt you and our friendship because I didn't think about your feelings. I want to at least apologize sincerely one more time, even if you don't forgive me."

"Are you apologizing for real? Wow, I didn't expect that."

"Is it weird?"

"No, it's just something Courtney would never do. That means either you grew in this past year, or you're a body snatcher alien plant. And I want to bet on the first one."

Courtney's face beamed, but she was still cautious. "Does that mean you forgive me?"

Gwen looked at her. "Yes, I forgive you."

"Thanks," Courtney's words got stuck on her throat. She was happy and relieved. There was so much she wanted to say but only could mutter one word in the end.

"Are you crying?" asked the goth, feeling a knot in her stomach.

The former CIT shook her head, tears running down her cheeks. "No, the wind blew some sand in my eyes, don't worry."

After that, Gwen also took a deep breath. She wasn't sure she wanted to do it, but after looking at her former friend, she decided it was the right thing. "I too want to apologize,"

"You want to apologize? If it's for the cheating incident, that's water under the bridge."

"No, I already apologized enough for that mistake," Gwen chuckled. "I wanted to apologize for what happened in All-Stars, yes you betrayed me, but I also wasn't fair with you."

The Latin girl shook her head, now more composed. "You don't have to apologize. it was all my f-"

"Stop, please shut up and listen to me. I heard your apology, so now it's your turn to hear mine."

Courtney nodded. She still wanted to complain but made an effort to stay silent.

"I wanted to apologize because I wasn't fair with you." Gwen sighed, trying to find the right words. "After finding the chart and that you lied to me, I felt betrayed. But instead of talking with you and trying to understand why you did that, I decided you were fooling me from the beginning."

"But I-"

"Please let me finish," the goth cut Courtney before she could end her sentence. "That happened because I always assume the worst of everyone. When someone is about to hurt me, I cut all my ties with them. Not because they deserve it, but because I'm afraid of being hurt."

The goth continued. "It was the same with Trent, with Duncan, and then with you. At the first problem, I cut off our ties. I don't care about the good moments or not. I just told myself that I was doing the right thing because if they're in the wrong, I'm in the right."

"But that isn't true," interrupted the former CIT. "After World Tour you tried to mend our friendship."

"That was just because I was the one that broke our bonds, not you. I knew I did something bad, but again I didn't really care about you. I just wanted to stop feeling guilty about what happened." Gwen's words were clear as she exposed her inner demons, but she didn't look at her face.

The goth then smirked. "But after realizing how unfair I was with all of you, I started to wonder. Could have it worked if I tried to help Trent with his problem instead of running away? Should I try to understand why Duncan wanted your attention instead of cutting him out of my life? Were you really fooling me from the beginning, or did I just ruin another one of my friendships?"

"I… I don't know," replied Courtney, "I'm not sure if you made the correct decision or not at that moment." She then looked at the goth's black eyes, "But I don't feel like you wronged me. In fact, cutting off our friendships helped me to realize many things about myself."

"Even then, I want to apologize for not giving you a chance or making an effort to mend our friendship."

"What are you saying? Didn't you just forgive me? That means that you're giving me a second chance, didn't you?"

"Yes, yes, you're right," Gwen's eyes filled with tears. "I'm sorry, I'm awful at these kinds of things."

The former CIT hugged her. "Don't worry, me too. Being friends again is a good thing, right? There's no need to cry."

"I'm not crying. I just got some sand inside my eyes," replied Gwen in a snarky tone.

Both girls then laughed. They were completely different from each other, from their personalities to how they were raised, but both really treasured their short-lived friendship.

They stood outside talking about what happened in this past year, Total Drama and The Ridonculous Race. Both were so distracted by their conversation that none of them noticed the people coming close to them.

"And then his partner Tom came. And instead of leaving me alone, now both began pestering me about my makeup," said the goth as she was telling another anecdote to Courtney. Both girls were laughing at Gwen's misadventures.

"I told you they would be fine," said Bridgette, but she was actually relieved that they weren't quarreling.

LeShawna shook her head and grinned happily. "And here I thought you had killed each other. I really can't understand you girls."

"We just talked about things, recognized our errors, and became friends again. It's not that hard," said Courtney in a proud tone.

"Yeah, that or she is an alien plant that took Courtney's place," replied Gwen, chuckling. "But for a plant, she tells some amusing stories."

The Latin girl looked at her, offended. "Hey! After all we have shared, you still think I could be an alien plant?"

"That's probably what an alien plant would say," replied LeShawna, also chuckling.

The three girls laughed at the concerned Courtney, who, after a moment, also join them.

"Leaving the silly stories aside, we came looking for Courtney. We want you to say some words to the guests. It's your winning celebration party after all," said Bridgette, winking.

"Oohhh, knowing Court, she surely has a 10 pages long discourse ready," Gwen smirked mischievously.

Courtney raised her head, smirking in the same way. "For your information, it would be 20 pages long, but today I felt lazy, so I didn't prepare any discourse at all."

"You didn't?" asked Bridgette, blinking a couple of times.

"No, I didn't. Now let's go. We can't keep our guests waiting," replied the former CIT, entering the venue.

LeShawna whispered to the other girls. "Maybe she's really an alien after all."

The Drama Brothers ended their song 'Wring and Shout' as the girls went back to the venue, waiting on the backstage.

"Thank you everyone, you're a lovely audience," said Trent, in an excited tone.

"WE LOVE YOU ALL" shouted Cody making finger guns. The audience roared wildly.

Then Harold took the mic. "But before the next song, we want to present a cherished friend of the band. She took part with us in a not-so-famous show I'm sure none of you ever heard of." The nerd stood silent as the audience laughed at his joke. "She's one of the guests of honor on today's Soiree. The winner of Total Drama's Seventh Season, Courtney."

The former CIT walked into the main stage. There was some cheering among the guests, but not as big as with the Drama Brothers.

"Good evening, everyone, and thanks for coming tonight. I'm sure all of you came to celebrate Bridgette and me, and not for the Drama Brothers," Cortney stood silent for a moment, letting the guests laugh. "So I'll be brief, so we can go back to the real important things like their next song."

"Did Courtney just make a joke?" asked Justin, his jaw-dropping.

"Maybe she drank too much? Should we stop her?" asked Trent, frowning at his bandmates.

Harold rolled his eyes. "Of course not GOSH! You idiots just say that because you weren't with her during the last season, this Courtney isn't the mean caterpillar you used to know. She built her own cocoon and is now a chrysalis."

Cody stood silent. There was no need for him to say anything else after Harold talked.

Courtney continued, unaware of that conversation. "I have to say that Total Drama was a great experience. Yes, the place was awful, the challenges dangerous, the beds rough, the food atrocious, the hosts were petulant and unbearable."

"But in the end, I don't regret competing, and not because I won a million dollars," she let the audience laugh a little. "But because I met many great people in the show, and meeting these new people helped me learn more about myself and grow as a person."

"Every person we meet teaches us a lesson. Some are fun, some are painful, but you will grow if you're open to learning from them. But if you close your heart and ignore them, you will end without anyone at your side, even if you win a million dollars or become a successful lawyer. If you close your heart to others, you will be alone, and believe me, no one wants to be alone," she said as she looked at the audience, her smile contrasting her harsh words.

"In summary, people aren't tools, they're humans like yourself, and you can learn a lot from others, so give yourself a chance. Thanks for your support, and let's enjoy another song from the Drama Brothers. Thank you, and have a great evening," said Courtney ending her discourse and walking outside the scenario.

"Great speech Courtney, I loved it," said Cody, patting her shoulder.

"Thanks" she replied, as the rest of the band congratulated her, but she was too tired to understand what they were saying. She was too nervous, and opening herself to the audience was exhausting.

She looked from the backstage at the band as someone put something cold in their neck, startling her.

"YAY! What the… DUNCAN, what's the great idea?" she jumped and then glared daggers at the delinquent.

"Hehehe. After your nice discourse, I thought you would be thirsty, so I got you some water," he then tossed a bottle of cold water to her. "You're welcome."

She rolled her eyes. "Why do you always need to do things in the most annoying way possible?"

"I don't know. Maybe it's a talent."

"Well, it's a really annoying talent," she chuckled. "But I can't hate you for that."

She then took a drink as he put a hand in his pocket. But before Duncan could say anything, she spoke.

"What we were talking about before the campfire ceremony…" she stood silent, blushing a little. "about getting back together. I thought a lot about it and... let's do it. I mean, if you still want to."

The delinquent dropped a small case he had in his pocket, looking at her with wide eyes. "Really?"

"What kind of silly reply is that? Of course," she said, avoiding his eyes. "But is the last tim- WOAHHH!"

He suddenly hugged her and twirled around like a kid. "That's awesome, Princess. Don't worry, I'm not the same delinquent I used to be."

"Yes, I know, now put me down!" she laughed, but he continued twirling a little more. After putting her down, she needed to sit on the floor.

"You ogre, you need to learn the meaning of moderation."

"I'm sorry, I was too overjoyed and didn't think about it."

She sighed and found the case he dropped. "What is this?"

"WAI-" he tried to stop her, but it was too late. She had already opened it.

Inside the case was a small golden skull-shaped locket with the initials 'D+C'.

"What is this?" she asked, awed.

He ran his hair across his mohawk. "It's the reason I was late. I bought it as a gift. I hope you like it."

"I love it," she said, standing up and kissing him on the lips. "Thanks Duncan."

"No, thank you, prin-" but before he could finish, they were interrupted by a loud THUD and many people falling from behind a curtain.

"Bridge? Gwen? Leshawna? And Geoff, his weird friend, Sierra, Heather, DJ? And even Owen?" Courtney was shocked, her face turning red by the embarrassment. "What's the meaning of this?"

"Hehehe, hi Courtney, you look wonderful tonight. Congratulations on your victory," said Owen, cheering.

"Don't get mad Court, we were just… watching over you from a distance," said Gwen, chuckling nervously.

Courtney raised an eyebrow. "More like spying on us."

"C'mon Mocha, don't be so angry. We were just nervous about you, and didn't want to interrupt," said Geoff rubbing his neck.

"Also, it was awesome you're together again and that you were the one kissing him. We as your friends are really proud," said Owen, wiping away a tear.

"UUUGGHH! I don't' have any friends. You're all horrible people," shouted Courtney as she ran away embarrassed.

Duncan shrugged, "Sorry, I need to catch her. There is no way I'm letting her go again."

And with those words, he went behind her. Followed by the rest.

Courtney was embarrassed but happy. Years ago, no one would bother spying upon her or worrying about her relationships. But as she realized her errors and dared to change herself, she also began to recover those things she lost in the way. Nobody is perfect, and realizing your mistakes is hard, and of course, there are things she could never recover from. But at least from now on, she will try to live her life as a person who trusts and values people over success. It won't be easy, but she will do it. After all, as long as you want, you can change yourself.

Author Notes:

[1] Realmente eres un idiota – You're really an idiot.

And after 75 weeks and more than 600,000 words, we reach the ending of this story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it. When I started this story as a one-shot for Valentine's day, I never thought it would grow so much.

Tyranny of the Masses main theme is changing yourself, and all the main characters struggle with that question. Courtney wants to change but is afraid she can't. Everyone around Brick tells him he needs to change, but he doesn't want to. Sammy wants to become stronger but doesn't know-how. Mike already changed but is afraid of people finding out, so he acts as if he didn't change. And so on, and on and on. I hope with this revelation, the story made a little more sense.

Now that this is over, I want to thank all the people who made Tyranny possible and who supported and gave me the motivation to continue. First of course Geofics, who proofread more than two-thirds of the story and helped me a lot with my English, and Ace_td, who also promoted my work and supported me.

Also I want to thank Simgart, Rachel_TD, and Kika-ila for the art they draw for the story and AwesomeCream810 whose Lilly fanart is one of my favorites. They helped to put Total drama from my head into the world.
