The Void Beyond
"SIGYN!"
"Loki!"
She turned to the group hurrying down the hillside towards her. They all ran towards her in a group of dark hair and gold and green attire.
"Loki! Uh, Lokis..." She turned to Loki - her Loki. "Wait, these are all you?"
"I guess so."
"Where are we?"
"I'm not really sure," he admitted.
"This is the Void, where the TVA dumps all its rubbish," said Kid Loki.
"Sigyn my dear, what are you doing here?" cried Classic Loki. "You shouldn't be here."
"I - oh! Oh-" she cried as the alligator leapt out of the kid's arms and into her own, closing his eyes and snuggling up against her. "Oh, um, hi there, Loki..."
"Why'd you do that? Why'd you grab onto me like that?" cried Loki, her Loki.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm not losing you again!"
"I miss my Sigyn, so much," sighed Classic Loki.
"Me too," agreed Kid Loki. Boastful Loki nodded in agreement, while the alligator growled his own sad response.
"What were you trying to tell Sylvie and I?"
"Uhhh... Now's probably not the best time-"
"He's right, we must go, now!" cried Boastful Loki.
"Agreed, run now, talk later," Classic Loki declared, and with that they took off.
They were led to the safehouse - an underground safehouse the other Lokis had furnished - only to find another handful of Loki's had already beaten them there to it.
The Loki who looked to be in the lead of the others - this was getting confusing - looked exactly like her Loki. Different outfit but same appearance.
He eyed her Loki. "Ah, hello. Now which one of us are you?"
"Bastards! You wolves stormed our place!" snapped Classic Loki.
"We prefer snakes to wolves," the new Loki sneered back.
"I've eaten both and they die just the same," Kid Loki shot back.
"Um, Loki?" Sigyn stepped into view.
"SIGYN!" the entire group cried at once.
"Hi..." She jumped and gave a little wave in response.
"Sigyn..." The cockiness - and dare she say sinister nature - fell from this new Loki's face, and was instantly replaced by shock. "Sig-" Slowly, he approached. Then, the next thing she knew, he dipped and kissed her.
She responded by shoving him away and striking him across the face.
"Oh! That hurts," her Loki mumbled.
"Ow! What was that for?!" this new Loki cried, holding his cheek.
"I don't know who you are!"
"It's me!"
"I know, but which you? Who are you?"
"Well isn't it obvious? I'm President Loki."
"President Loki, right..."
"See, vote for me-" He gestured to the button badge on his strikingly green jacket.
"If there's this many me's, there must be this many you's as well," said her Loki.
"I can only imagine..."
"Apologies, My Liege-" Boastful Loki held his hammer to Kid Loki's neck. "I betrayed you and now I'm King."
"Oh no, not this again" She looked to her Loki who only winced.
"About that-" New Loki - President Loki - stepped forward, his army of fellow Loki's drawing their weapons.
"You can't be serious!" cried Boastful Loki.
"Oh come on, what did you expect?" He gave a sinister grin.
"That was not the bargain! I gave you our location in exchange for shelter and supplies. You give me your army and I take the throne!"
"Ah yes, not so good a bargain. How about this one: my army, my throne?"
"About that-" The other Lokis promptly turned on him as well.
"Why you beef-witted, half-faced scrubs! We had a deal!"
Sigyn face-palmed. Ah Loki, dramatic as ever.
"Why the Hel is there an alligator in here?!"
"He's a Loki!" both Kid and Classic Loki cried in unison.
Alligator Loki was clearly not thrilled about the newcomers, and, with a low growl, promptly launched himself at the so-called President Loki, promptly chomping his jaws and latching onto the President's arm with his teeth. There was a sickening squelch! as well as a spray of blood, and President Loki's hand came off clean.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
This prompted immediate response in the shape and form of the rest of the Lokis jumping into battle against each other. Chaos quickly erupted, Loki turning on Lokis everywhere.
"Oh gods," groaned Sigyn.
"This way!" Classic Loki conjured up a very believable illusion of himself, Kid and Alligator Lokis, herself and Loki, allowing them to escape.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" President Loki was still screaming - she couldn't see him, but she could still hear him all right.
"What the Hel was that?" Sigyn cried once they had escaped the fray, glad to be rid of it.
"Glorious purpose," groaned Classic Loki. "Glorious power, glorious, glorious purpose!"
"Oh my gods-"
"Sylvie! Mobius!"
"We were all pruned!"
"Yeah, looks like pruning is just another big old TVA lie," said Mobius.
"These are our friends," Loki said, gesturing to his other selves. "They're - now how best to put this? Us as a child, us in the future. And us as an alligator - it's best not to question it," he added to Sylvie's look of skepticism.
"So you're all after the giant cloud monster too then?" she asked instead.
The group gathered to try and come up with a plan to vanquish Alioth. Loki found Sigyn standing alone away from the group.
"I think I know what happened," she said.
"What do you mean?"
"Your nexus event, the one that you and Sylvie caused. It was that you and Sylvie fell for each other, inadvertently falling for yourself, in a way. You didn't end up alone and you didn't end up with me, I think that's the event as a whole."
He didn't deny it. "Sigyn, I'm sor-"
"No." She stopped him. "No, don't be. Don't be sorry. I'm happy for you, truly. Loki, I'm your best friend, all I ever wanted for you was for you to be happy, and to see yourself as we did. I'm glad you're finally getting there."
He smiled warmly back. "Thank you, Sig."
"Of course, that's what best friends do. Support each other."
"What about you? Are you okay?"
"Yeah. You know, this isn't the first time we've been separated, oh no. But it is the first time we've been separated by choice. And it's the only separation that feels okay."
Loki took her hand and squeezed it. She squeezed his back.
Plan in place, the groups were headed their separate ways.
"Go get them," Sigyn told Loki and Sylvie. "For Asgard."
Sylvie smirked. "For all Time."
She hugged them both and then they were gone.
"Um-"
She wasn't alone for long, and jumped at someone clearing their throat behind her.
There stood a very ruffled President Loki, holding a cloth over the bloody stump that had been his hand before Alligator Loki had chomped it off. He held out the bloody limb towards her. "Do you mind? I could use some help."
Haha, so many Lokis, I love it! ;) So I'm thinking the next chapter will be the last one, that is if I don't continue when Loki Season 2 comes out! I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed! :) See you in the next (last) chapter!
