A Brand New Adventure on the Horizon!

Cold blackness spans the universe, hidden behind the brilliance of stars and the mesmerizing colors of planets. Few remember that the terrors of space that are so abundant also house the most beautiful things ever seen by mortal or divine eyes.

It is within this setting that Zamasu reflects upon the previous events leading to their drifting through space. After the battle with Frieza and the explosion of Namek, the two Earth-bound saiyans took a long break. Goku needed a lot of patching up, especially with his usage of the divine power of Ultra Instinct. Luckily, Zamasu is well-versed in divine injuries, mainly due to his ideals forcing him to focus on the divine and not the mortal.

Along with that, Vegeta was in horrible shape. The hole in his chest stopped bleeding, but the wound itself was devastatingly lethal. If Goku didn't act when he did, Zamasu might not have been able to save him in time. Luckily, the two conscious saiyans were able to put Vegeta in a healing tank. While they didn't know how to function it, the liquid seemed to help Vegeta's wounds. However, the large chest wound needed to be looked at soon, or else he would be extremely crippled, maybe even infected if they were to land.

Zamasu also tried accessing the strange form he took while battling Frieza. It wasn't the same as Super Saiyan. He could feel the dredges of the mystical energy that allows Super Saiyan, but it wasn't the same as when he first mastered the form. This strange, orange-haired counterpart seemed more like a replica, with a smaller power boost as well. A 'False' Super Saiyan. However, that sounds a bit on-the-nose, and Zamasu is never one to pass on style. Golden Kaioken, while still a little generic, is better than the first name he came up with.

Now, in the present time, Zamasu finally opens his eyes. Finished with his meditation, he retreats into the ship from his observation room, i.e. his bedroom. Zamasu walks slowly, his gi top removed and a robe thrown over his shoulders, covering his torso but giving him a much more laid-back appearance. The kai-saiyan scratches his head as he enters a room down the hall, one reserved for upper-class soldiers and commanders in Frieza's army.

Goku is laying on a bed, his eyes closed and breathing softly. His body is bandaged in certain areas, nothing too serious. However, his hands occasionally twitch and shiver, and his breathing lurches ever so slightly, side-effects of the divine power used in his vastly weaker mortal body. Unlike the Goku of Zamasu's timeline, this one hasn't trained with God Ki yet, and even then, UI would have some major drawbacks. Most, he theorizes, would be momentary, but the usage of God Ki in this Goku's state is disastrous. In Zamasu's opinion, Goku is lucky not to have any permanent injuries.

The punished kai grabs a nearby rag and dabs Goku's forehead with it. The earth-raised saiyan mumbles and shifts in his sleep, but doesn't wake up. Zamasu continues dabbing Goku's head while checking his bandages. After a few minutes, the kai is satisfied and leaves the siayan in peace.

Zamasu continues down the circular hall, heading to the infirmary. Taking only a moment, the kai enters the room. Inside, Vegeta is laying on a bed, his chest bare and heavily damaged. Zamasu walks over and lifts up Vegeta's torso, making the saiyan prince lean against the bed rest. The prince cringes in pain, but ultimately doesn't wake up. Heading the movement no mind, Zamasu unwraps the bandages and looks at the wound.

The skin around the hole is red and swollen, with normal signs of healing. However, the skin on the inside of the wound is a deep red and charred, side-effects of the volatile energy sent by Frieza. Zamasu mumbles to himself as he prepares to clean the edges of the wound. "Cauterized and shot through at the same time. No wonder Vegeta is still unconscious. The shock would be immense to anyone." Zamasu's mind flashes back to his timeline's Vegeta and how he himself stabbed the prince through the chest with his blade. A wound like that would be similar to this, cauterizing and piercing through. The kai tsks in annoyance and banishes the memory, unwilling to think about his past home.

The twisting in his stomach doesn't go away.

Intent on forgetting the feeling, Zamasu finishes cleaning Vegeta's chest wound and turns to the supplies behind himself. He grabs a sealing liquid he found a few days again and applies it to the wound. "He should be good enough to have it sealed now." Satisfied with his work, the kai grabs the healing liquid-soaked bandages he prepared in advance. The kai wraps them around Vegeta's chest, once again hiding the wound from sight. Content with the results, Zamasu leaves the infirmary.

The kai continues his walk through the ship, eventually ending up in the control center for the vessel. Zamasu walks up to the control panels and sits down, his gaze fixated on the many pages in front of him. Coordinates, planet names, citizens, everything needed for space travel is in front of Zamasu. The kai leans down and hums to himself as he begins reading the coordinate chart, searching for planet Earth.

"Where would it be," the saiyan-kai mutters as he views the galactic map. He can see the Milky Way, it isn't that hard to miss, but the location of Earth's solar system is another mystery. He just can't find it on the map. Zamasu looks at the coordinate pages, trying to find some hints for Earth's location.

Then, the ship jolts. Zamasu stumbles a bit and stands up straight, his eyes wide and alarmed. Expanding his ki sense, the kai hums softly as he feels a plethora of weak ki signatures nearby, in galactic terms. "A nearby planet. Is the gravity affecting the ship?"

Zamasu walks over to the side of the control center and enters an observation deck. Surrounded by glass, the kai can see everything happening outside the ship. And what he sees concerns him greatly.

Surrounding the ship is a large beam of energy, pulses of clearly visible heat rippling through the beam. Zamasu stumbles as the ship jerks again, and the kai suddenly realizes that the ship is being pulled toward the planet. The kai turns and runs back to the control center, his mind swirling with possibilities.

Zamasu reaches the desk and looks at the planet list, shifting through the catalog. Eventually, he finds what he is looking for. "Planet 2B4HA, or the North Hub. Central for trade and popular for tourism. Keep an eye on it, it sells essential goods. Produces just as many as it sells. Hm." The kai thinks for a moment, then decides. "If this planet has supplies and a good society, they might be able to assist us and heal Vegeta." Plan in motion, Zamasu decides to let the planet pull them in while he wakes up Goku.

Entering the room the earth-raised saiyan is sleeping in, Zamasu is pleasantly surprised to see Goku already moving about. The saiyan's eyes stare at the direction of the planet, a frown plastered on his face. "What's going on, Zamasu?" Goku turns to Zamasu with curiosity, but also with his guard up. "Why is the ship shaking."

"A planet is pulling us in. A Hub Planet, one for trade and filled with supplies." Goku's eyes widen at this statement. "Oh! So we can help Vegeta recover while we figure out where Earth is, right?" Zamasu nods, glad to see that Goku understands the upsides of this scenario. Goku grins widely and says, "Alright, let's go wake up Vegeta! He needs to know what's going on too!" The kai-hybrid nods, a very small smile on his mouth from seeing Goku take charge. The two exit the room and move over to Vegeta's.

Right as the two enter, a big crash sounds outside the ship. The two conscious saiyans look up, noticing the sound and the larger shake than before. "We must have landed," Zamasu says. He turns back to Vegeta and shakes the saiyan's shoulder. "Vegeta. Wake up. We need to get you fixed up."

As the prince mumbles and begins stirring, Goku's eyes widen. "Ah, wait a second! This ki, it isn't pleasant!" Zamasu turns in alarm and confusion. "What ki?" Then, his own eyes widen as he registers the multiple ki signatures entering the ship, each with malicious content. "Oh no."

"HALT!" Goku steps back slightly as a man enters the room, a gun raised. Armor is covering his body and a helmet rests over his head, similar to the Frieza soldiers, but with a visor covering his face. "You are under arrest for being associated with Frieza!"

"Associated with Frieza," Goku exclaims. "But, we killed Frieza!"

The armored man focuses his aim on Goku's head. "Likely story! Now, out of the room!"

At this moment, Zamasu decides to intervene as another man enters the room. He looks like a human, but his strangely colored skin, namely green, says otherwise. He has a white beard and a scar over his left eye, giving him a grizzly, commando look. The man looks around, then settles his eyes on the prone prince's form. His eyes widen as Zamasu says, "There's been a misunderstanding. We escaped the destruction of Planet Namek after Frieza died. We are sorry if you confused us for-"

"Quiet." Zamasu pauses, staring at the man who interrupted him. Zamasu frowns deeply, his old rage building, but he lets it simmer instead, not willing to make assumptions just yet. Especially with Goku AND Vegeta injured behind him. The grizzly man steps forward and walks past Zamasu, his eyes focused on Vegeta. The man strokes the prince's forehead, not a sound coming from his mouth. Vegeta shifts in his unconsciousness, then his eyes open slightly. He blinks a bit, then finally focuses them on the figure standing above himself. The Prince promptly goes wide-eyed and backs away quickly, his eyes starring as if he's seen a ghost. The grizzly man watches the reaction with a blank face, then says, "Take them in."

More armored people file in and begin grabbing the saiyans' arms and wrists. Zamasu lets them do so without issue, not willing to fight. Seeing his master not resisting, Goku calms down as well. Vegeta, however, tries fighting back. Despite his injured state, no one can get close to the angry prince. "Damn it, you faker! Of all places, why'd it have to be here?!"

Said kai raises an eyebrow in curiosity, but ultimately barks out, "Vegeta! Stop resisting!" The prince looks at Zamasu with so much surprise, he doesn't notice the guards taking the opportunity to cuff him. "What?! Why aren't you fighting back?"

Zamasu doesn't respond, simply leveling Vegeta with a stern look. The prince tsks in annoyance and backs down, his own injuries enough of a reminder of his position. The guards push him forward and the three saiyans begin walking in line as they are led through the ship. The prince looks around, then whispers. "I hope you have a plan for this, because I would rather not waste time here!"

"As much as I like to hear your complaining, Vegeta, I do have a plan. So please, be quiet and listen." The prince grumbles to himself, then falls silent. The three continue walking, Zamasu and Vegeta trying to take in as much information as possible, while Goku just watches in curiosity and awe at new people. Eventually, they reach the opened door of the ship and step out into the new world.

Skyscrapers reach all around them, flying cars and multiple contraptions soaring through the city skyline at blazing speeds. Technology fills the air and colors brighter than the group has ever seen covers the planet in full. Green-skinned people move about, some ignoring the traveling group, others watching in curiosity. Vegeta tsks in annoyance, his eyes filled with recognition of the planet around him, which makes Zamasu very curious.

Eventually, after a long trek through the bustling streets of this advanced city, a building with a very familiar design on it is seen. The words 'Police Station' also help them recognize the place. The group enters quietly, all three of them now on edge. The grizzly man up front turns and says, "Bring them to cell S-6. They won't be able to escape in there." The guards, or now confirmed police, nod and lead the three farther into the building.

Inside the building is very bland, typical for a police station. The lobby area has little in it, and the walls beyond are lined with cells, most empty. However, there are a few prisoners inside, all of them different in looks from the green-skinned populace. Zamasu looks between them all with disdain, his mind swirling with the possibilities for these criminals to be locked up. In his mind, they deserve it.

Then, the group reaches another sector of the building. There are only seven cells here, but each one is black in color and covered in metal. Each cell is labeled, from S-1 to S-7. No other prisoners are inside.

One of the police officers opens the door to S-6 and says, "Alright, get in." Zamasu and Goku enter without a fuss, but Vegeta has to be pushed inside. The prince stumbles, hissing in pain as his chest-wound flares, and he almost falls to the ground. Goku manages to catch him and stand him up as the cell door closes. The guard outside grunts in satisfaction. "There. This cell is strong enough to hold any saiyan, no matter their class. You won't be getting out soon." With that final remark, the guard turns and walks away.

The three saiyans stare for a bit, taking in the words. Then, Vegeta goes and sits down, rubbing his chest near the wound. Goku looks around, curious, as Zamasu sits down on the ground near the wall.

Vegeta sneers in disgust as he feels another surge of sharp pain in his chest. "Damn it. Why did it have to be this planet?"

An odd, quiet noise is heard in Vegeta's ears, but he dismisses it as Zamasu says, "You say that again. Do you have a history with this planet?"

The prince grunts as Goku sits down across from the prince, his eyes wide and full of curiosity. Vegeta looks away and says, "If you must now, this planet was one I once raided. I helped overtake the planet's military with the help of the Ginyu Force."

The quiet noise intensifies, then quiets down again, taking Vegeta's interest. Then, Zamasu says, "So, you needed help."

Vegeta tsks in annoyance and glares at the kai-saiyan. "This planet isn't normal. It once held some of the fiercest warriors in the universe, ones on par with the saiyans. On top of that, they also held and still hold the most powerful weapons ever built, ones strong enough to kill a saiyan with ease."

Goku's eyes widen in surprise. "Woah! They must've been a really tough challenge."

Vegeta frowns and closes his eyes as he remembers the details. "Yes, it was. We even had to call in Frieza just to take over the planet. He was so impressed with their power and technology forcing him into his third form that he decided to use them to form a hub planet for his empire. After he killed off the warriors, first."

This makes Goku frown deeply. "Frieza killed a bunch of people in fear, just like the saiyans. Were they really that strong?"

The prince nods solemnly. "Yes, they were. To my knowledge, only a few remain, half of which disappeared after going on a terrorizing spree for years. I still don't know what happened to them."

The quiet noise that was in the background of the conversation suddenly disappears. Vegeta and Goku turn to Zamasu, suddenly aware of the fact that the sound was coming from his direction. The kai-saiyan shifts, then a soft clang echoes in the cell. Zamasu stands with a smirk and shows off his work. "Strong enough to hold a saiyan. What about one as strong as Frieza."

The two other saiyans gape slightly as they see a hole in the wall, one that leads outside of the cell. Goku kneels down and looks at the hole. Large enough for all of them to crawl through, easily, and the edges are only slightly warm. "Wow, Zamasu. That's awesome!"

Zamasu smirks a bit wider, then frowns as he becomes serious. "Alright, let's get going. We can't stay here long." Receiving two nods from the other saiyans, the three exit the cell through the hole.

On the other end is a dark hallway, one obviously not used often. The three look around, then Zamasu whispers, "This way. I can feel a breeze." The three run softly down the hall, Vegeta a little clumsily with his wound affecting his movement. They turn a corner and see a door open just a crack, enough for light and wind to stream in. Zamasu walks over to the door cautiously and opens it. Seeing nothing around, he tells the other two to go outside. The two do so, and Zamasu pushes the door back to its original position.

Now outside, Goku looks around the alley and says, "Now what? Where should we go?"

Vegeta looks around, and his eyes widen. "I recognize this place as one of the battlefronts. I know a way to the outskirts of the city." Without any warning, Vegeta runs off, forcing his allies to chase after him so they don't lose sight.

The prince stops as he looks at the busy road. He looks around, searching for officers, as Goku and Zamasu come to a stop next to him. Zamasu frowns and says, "Why are you waiting, Vegeta? Can you not fly?"

Vegeta, still searching, says, "Not here. They have energy sensors all throughout the city to look for people with ki usage. If it's an enemy, they can shoot them down with heat-sensing missiles strong enough to obliterate Ginyu."

Goku flinches at the thought of having to deal with that. "Ouch. Ok, so no flying or using ki." Vegeta nods tersely, not willing to give Goku much time at all.

Eventually, the prince says, "Ok, it should be clear. Run for the next alley. We'll be out of the city through there!" Receiving two nods, the three saiyans bolt across the street. Due to their innate physical prowess, each of them are mere blurs, too fast for the populace to sense. A sensor beeps continuously, unable to sense the usage of pure muscles instead of ki.

The three escapees continue running, eventually finding themselves outside of the city and onto a green field. A dirt road is to their left, nearly a mile or so away, and along the road for a while is a settlement of run-down houses and buildings. Vegeta pants slightly, his chest flaring in pain, then mumbles, "I'm glad that I remembered this planet's layout."

Goku looks around the fields and walks forward a bit. "What's the name of this planet anyway?"

Vegeta takes a particularly deep breath, then replies, "Hera. This is Planet Hera."

Just as he says that, Goku yelps in surprise as he is suddenly pulled by his ankle and hung upside-down from a tree. The saiyan is taken off-guard so much that he doesn't even try to free himself.

Suddenly, a young, female voice yells, "HA! Take that, you stupid money-grubbing assholes!" Zamasu and Vegeta look behind themselves and see two young girls walking toward them. One looks to be about 12 or so, a smug, satisfied grin on her face. Her white hair and green skin identify her as one of the locals, but her clothes are ragged and dirty, different from the clean and modern-looking citizens within the city.

The other girl catches Vegeta's eye instantly. A young woman, around his age, with bright red hair and onyx-black eyes. She has a vicious smirk on her face and her body shows her toned muscles and slim build, similar to a craftsman's body. She is wearing the same style of clothes as the other girl, but her skin is peach in color. But that doesn't concern Vegeta.

The girl smirks and yells, "Alright! You three are coming with us! Don't resist, we have more nets and pepper spray!" The girl, despite the ridiculous threat, proceeds to hold up an electrified net and a can of pepper spray, one in her hand, and the other…

In her long, brown, scraggy tail.

Chronoa grins widely as she closes the book. "So THIS is where things start deviating from the original timeline. And I mean WILDLY."

The Supreme Kai smiles and says, "Short news today, and I myself am busy in a bit here, so this will be short. The author is done with college for the year (YAY!) and will be able to upload faster now. Also, he says, 'Props to those who recognize the term Hera in Dragon Ball.' Other than that, there isn't much."

Chronoa stands and begins waving with a grin. "Thanks for reading! Please leave a review, we love to read them, and we hope you enjoy this brand new arc to the Dragon Ball story!"
