A Startling Discovery! Toga's Training Begins!
After the visit to the sorceress, many discussions were needed to be had. Most were simple curiosities, and a lot of them were from Goku to Vegeta. The earth-raised saiyan, for the first time since Raditz telling him of his saiyan heritage, is now interested in how saiyans lived.
Despite Goku's approaches, however, Vegeta refuses to indulge in any information about saiyan culture. After another attempt by Goku, Vegeta smirks and says, "If I keep it secret, you'll get to discover everything on your own when we revive the saiyans. Besides, it'll actually keep that idiotic mind of yours focused on the task at hand." Goku doesn't respond after that, not sure whether to thank Vegeta or not.
Finally left alone, Vegeta is able to get his thoughts together. Ever since they've returned to the village, Vegeta's been trying to think of a way to begin his training with his protegee. A saiyan and a hera? He saw what the Herian warriors could do before Frieza arrived. If this girl has the power of two of the strongest warrior races in her, she's bound to be the legendary super saiyan!
Grinning to himself, Vegeta moves through the dusty streets of the run-down village, easily making his way to Toga's house. She lives near Saigo, and that young girl Cheelai lives with her. Vegeta doesn't mind Cheelai, he's even taken a liking to her sassy and sarcastic attitude, but he gets annoyed very quickly if she starts acting like an immature child.
The prince stops in front of a small house and knocks on the door. His sharp hearing picks up the sounds of shifting feet inside, along with a slight curse. Vegeta smirks in amusement and watches the door open. There stands Toga, trying to hide the fact that she is nursing her leg.
Vegeta can't help it. "I'm here to begin training you. Or is your leg too injured to begin?" Toga's flush of red embarrassment makes the prince chuckle. Smirking, Vegeta continues, "Come on, we don't have all day. I want to see what you can do."
Nodding without complaint, Vegeta and Toga make their way out of the village grounds. Once they leave, Toga finally brings up something she noticed as they went through the village. "Where're your friends, Zamasu and Goku?"
Vegeta scowls. "They are not my 'friends', as you put it. They are just fellow saiyans, or as much as they can be. And to my knowledge, they were given a mission to infiltrate the city and see if they can find clues on our ship's whereabouts. I can only imagine how that's going with that bumbling oaf Kakarot there."
"Hey look, a spaceship!"
"Not ours, Goku."
"Why don't we just get one from there?"
"We don't have money, Goku."
"Can't I just ask-"
"GOKU!"
Vegeta smirks wickedly. "Oh yes, I can feel Zamasu's suffering. Smells delicious." Toga silently takes a step back from the prince.
Suddenly, Vegeta turns to Toga with a stern frown. "Now then. It's been enough time for me to at least move around without hurting myself." Lowering into his basic fighting stance, Vegeta smirks widely in anticipation. "So, you are going to spar with me so I can gauge your power. Don't hold anything back, I want to see it all!"
Toga, frightened by the prospect of having to fight the saiyan prince, nods shakily and falls into a sloppy fighting stance. Vegeta frowns as he takes this in, but doesn't say anything about it. He can tell her the mistakes later. For now, they will fight.
Wordlessly, Vegeta launches himself at Toga. The Hera girl puts up a hasty block, her arms struggling to keep Vegeta's fist at bay. Vegeta smirks, then drops down and tries a low sweeping kick. Toga jumps over the kick and lands a few meters away.
Not letting up his assault, Vegeta rushes after Toga once more. He clashes against her defense, then gives a war cry as he begins pounding her with blow after blow. Toga grits her teeth, sweat trailing down her forehead. She can't block all of the hits.
Vegeta manages to pass Toga's sloppy defense and lands a solid blow to her stomach. Toga gags, eyes wide, as saliva flies out of her mouth. Vegeta gives her a swift roundhouse kick and Toga is sent flying backward. The girl doesn't get back up.
Vegeta pauses, staring at the Hera girl. He lowers his leg and grunts. "You lack all of the basics of proper fighting and your form is sloppy. You don't even have the fighting spirit. I was expecting more. We're done here." Vegeta turns and begins walking away, a deep frown adorning his face.
"N-No." The prince pauses, but does not turn.
"What was that?"
Toga grits her teeth and slowly picks herself up off of the dusty ground. "I s-said, no!"
Vegeta turns around, eyeing Toga. He watches her push herself up onto her feet, her breath labored. Her eyes, however, Vegeta mentally grins at the sight of those eyes. Toga grits her teeth, then yells, "I need to become stronger! I promised mom and dad I wouldn't die. I'm not done yet!"
This makes Vegeta grin widely. "Well now, where was this fire before?" Vegeta turns and lowers himself into his stance once more. "Very well. Show me what you've got, and with conviction this time!"
Toga screams as she rushes forward, her feet pounding against the ground. Vegeta's smirk grows as Toga begins her assault. Vegeta dodges each punch with ease, his trained eyes able to follow her quick movements. "That's much better! Show me your passion!"
Toga's response is a punch that slips past Vegeta's guard. The prince, expecting a lighter blow due to the slower speed, is unprepared for the true results. His eyes bulge as he is sent flying 50 feet away, his feet creating two deep trenches in the ground.
Vegeta grits his teeth as he grips his stomach, pain coursing through his body. He looks up and eyes Toga with wary eyes, his mind rushing with thoughts. "Her movements are slow and readable, but she packs enormous power behind those punches. If she were to harness that power and refine it… yes, she could become stronger than even the faker!"
Grinning wickedly to himself, Vegeta wipes a bit of stray saliva off of his mouth. "Well now, that was unexpected. It seems you have quite a lot of power behind those punches of yours." Vegeta's aura suddenly flares to life. "But let's see what you can do against my full strength!"
With a loud yell, Vegeta rockets across the ground. Toga's eyes widen momentarily, but then narrow as Vegeta approaches. The prince sends a punch at her head, but the girl ducks below. Vegeta quickly responds by using the momentum to throw a low sweep kick. Toga deftly dodges the sweep. Now in the air, Toga lowers her hands as brilliant green ki gathers on her palms. With a loud yell, she sends the blast directly into Vegeta's shocked face.
Toga is sent flying high into the sky by the explosion, and she grins in glee. Down below, Vegeta is absolutely floored by the attack. Set off directly in his face, on the ground, shoved the prince deep into the earth. Vegeta crawls out of the saiyan-shaped hole and coughs a bit. "Damn kid has A LOT of power!"
Said kid lands a little bit away and grins widely. "I managed to actually hit you with a ki blast! Did I surprise you, Prince Vegeta?!"
Vegeta stands up and wipes a bit of dirt from his face. He returns Toga's delighted grin with a pleased smirk. "Impressive. You have a lot of power, kid. If you keep training with me, you will become stronger than everyone on this planet!"
As Toga jumps up and down in excitement, Vegeta frowns for a bit. "Although she is so happy-go-lucky like Kakarot, she could cause issues." Vegeta's gaze travels down to the furry appendage extending from Toga's lower spine. "With the power she holds, if she were to give in to her fury or look at a full moon…"
Vegeta shakes his head to rid himself of the horrible thoughts. For now, he has a pupil to train, and he can't do that if he is doubting her abilities. Vegeta walks forward and tells Toga to calm down. Their training can officially begin.
The book closes quickly, Chronoa smiling to herself. "Short and sweet, but it did give some important information. Oh, I can feel something big coming up!"
Chronoa smiles at you and says, "The author is still going slow with college, but he hasn't forgotten about the story. Trunks is out right now, so I am still doing the announcements. Although, now that I think about it, what's taking so long?" Chronoa pauses, then shrugs.
With a grin, she waves and says, "Anyways, thanks for reading! We hope you enjoyed, and please leave a review! We always love reading what you guys have to say about the story or any suggestions you have for the future!"
