Liberation of Hera! Off to Vampa!

King Kai mumbles to himself as he paces on his planet. He growls and shakes his head, sweat pouring off of his brow. "This isn't good," he mutters. "This isn't good at all."

The blue kai looks down at his feet and waves a finger. The image of a compass appears. Each point, save for the southern point, glows bright yellow. The southern point is dull and lifeless.

King Kai looks around nervously, then turns back to the compass. "I didn't know that South Kai was retiring. No one told me. Oh man, what is this going to do to the seal?!" The kai can sense a spike of power far off in space, deep inside a lone star. "I hope Zamasu is ready for this. I don't think we can keep him trapped much longer."

Zamasu stares at Goku in annoyance, the latter practically drooling from his mouth. The two saiyans are within the city, still searching for their ship, and Goku managed to get side tracked. With food. Again.

Growling to himself in annoyance, Zamasu grabs Goku's gi and begins pulling him along, much to the younger saiyan's dismay. Ignoring the curious glances of the onlookers, Zamasu tells Goku, "Focus Goku. We need to find our ship so we can get off this planet and investigate Kenyo's situation."

Goku whines loudly, an action that causes Zamasu to roll his eyes. "But they look so goooooood!"

Zamasu grabs the hungry saiyan and begins pulling him away, despite his protests. "We can eat later. Right now it is ship-searching time."

The earth-raised saiyan grumbles in annoyance, but doesn't complain out loud. Instead, he spreads his senses, trying to see if he can feel the energy of anyone familiar. The people who pulled their ship onto the planet should have familiar power signatures…

There! A small, slightly recognizable blip in his senses. Goku turns and points in the direction of the power. "I felt something that way."

Zamasu looks in the direction Goku is pointing. "Are you sure? It isn't your stomach this time?"

Goku blushes as he recalls what happened the last time he 'sensed' a familiar energy. "Yes, I'm positive. I felt something over there."

Zamasu gives a small nod and begins walking in that direction. The two saiyan don't see much of interest on their way to their location, even if Goku takes deep interest in multiple restaurants.

Eventually, the more casual parts of the city fade away, leaving only business and military behind. Goku and Zamasu begin walking more cautiously, the air of this section of the city demanding their attention.

Soon, they come across the very same police station that they broke out of. Goku points it out, and Zamasu nods in understanding. They continue past the station, keeping their heads down and not looking anyone in the eyes. Luckily, no one pays them any attention.

Goku keeps his focus on the dim signal nearby, his eyes focused on the direction of the power. He frowns and turns to the right, cutting between buildings. He can feel a close by power, closer than the one that he is focused on. Zamasu raises an eyebrow in confusion, but follows anyway.

The two wind through the alleys of the city, their footsteps soft. Eventually, they reach a large, fenced-off compound. Inside walks many guards, each with a strange-looking rifle in hand. Goku looks around, then points at one of the men inside. "That's the power I felt."

Zamasu squints his eyes, trying to discern any features of the man. Then, his eyes widen momentarily. Near the middle of the compound, near the only building inside, is a familiar man. "That's the man that took our ship."

Now that Zamasu had pointed it out to him, Goku realizes the same fact. "It is! Is our ship nearby too?"

"Only one way to find out. Let's go."

The two saiyans stay low and run across the perimeter of the compound. Zamasu has a hunch that if he can see the inside of that building, they'd find their answers. He was proven right when the back of the building is wide open, revealing their ship inside.

Zamasu smiles widely at the sight of their lost ship. "Ok, there it is. Now we need to tell Saigo of our findings."

"Can't we just go in and take it? They don't seem too strong."

Zamasu slaps Goku on the back of his head. "Of course not! They have weapons strong enough to pierce us, and as such, we can't go in without preparations. We need to tell Saigo."

Goku rubs his head and nods, understanding the message. The two saiyans sneak back the way they came and run out of the city, their minds set on finally leaving the planet they've been trapped on.

The wastelands beyond the city's limits are a familiar sight to the duo as they run for Saigo's town. The guards, recognizing the two saiyans, let them in without a word.

Goku and Zamsu find Saigo's house quickly, running inside and seeing the old Hera sitting on his chair, a deep frown on his face. Saigo looks up and smiles at the two returning warriors. "Hello boys! Did the mission go well?"

Zamasu gives a slight bow in response. "Yes. In fact, we were able to locate our ship."

Goku nods. "Yeah, it's in this big, fenced-off area of the city. There's a bunch of guards inside, along with the same guy who took our ship in the first place."

Saigo clasps his hands in front of himself and nods, thinking of the words. "Well then, it seems we have our goal. We need to retrieve your ship and get you off Hera. The longer you stay here, the more likely it is that Kenyo has passed. We need to figure out his situation." The two present saiyans nod, eagerness appearing on their faces.

Just as Saigo finishes, Toga and Vegeta enter the building. Vegeta crosses his arms, his wound much better than before, and says, "I see you two are back from the city. Tell me, did you find our ship?"

Zamasu nods. "Yes, we did. We should be able to retrieve it tonight, as long as Saigo has a plan for getting in?"

This causes Saigo to grin widely. "Oh, you bet I have a way to get in. It's about damn time we found that ship of yours. I've been itching to use my latest invention for ages."

Zamasu raises an eyebrow. "Invention?"

Saigo grins even wider "You'll see. For now, we need a plan to get inside. Here's what I'm thinking."

A group of five moves quietly outside of the fence's perimeter. A Hera guard yawns loudly, obvious exhaustion in his form. He never notices the shadows outside the fence.

Cheelai looks around, then gestures for the group to follow. Toga follows without hesitation, Zamasu right behind. Vegeta follows the kai, pulling the slightly distracted Goku with him.

The five stop in front of a generator, located just outside the compound. Cheelai takes out a small device and attaches it to the generator, grinning as she does so. "Stupid idiots keep their power source outside the fence. Well, maybe only one, but it still works for us."

The device begins to blink a soft, red light as Cheelai finishes her work. Zamasu frowns as he looks at the device, then looks at the wristband he himself is wearing. "I am assuming there is a correlation between these bands Saigo gave us and that device?"

Cheelai nods. "Yep. It'll be important that you guys keep those on. If you don't, well, it'll be a bit shocking to see the results." Zamasu's frown deepens.

Cheelai looks around, her eyes moving rapidly, and says, "I don't see any guards. Come on, Saigo should have a way inside by now." Without waiting, Cheelai runs around the fence, the whole group following her.

Keeping an eye on the guards inside the compound, the group skirts around the perimeter, ending up at the same place the Zamasu and Goku used to find the place. Saigo is there, a small arc, roughly the height of Saigo himself, attached to the fence. Behind him is a large, mechanical pillar the height of Zamasu, with four small, metal rods extending from the rim near the top.

Zamasu eyes the pillar warily as Goku looks at the arc attached to the fence. "What is that for?"

Saigo grins and presses a small device, similar to the one Cheelai had, to the arc. "This right here is our ticket in. Careful not to touch the edges of the machine, it's extremely hot."

As he says this, the device he attached to the arc flashes green. The device sparks, then begins to glow blue. The arc itself glows as well, and suddenly, the fence is no longer seen under the arc.

As the group stares in astonishments, Saigo grins widely. "This right here is the Matter Destabilizer. It can remove any non-organic solids or liquids that are within 6 inches of the arc's inner area. Basically, it allows us to go through the fence like it doesn't even exist."

Goku walks over to the arc, mesmerized by the machine. He sticks his hand through the arc, where the fence should be, but nothing is there. He pulls his hand back and looks at it, then looks at the arc again. "Woah. That's awesome! I bet Bulma would love something like this!"

Saigo raises an eyebrow. "Bulma? That a friend of yours?"

Goku nods enthusiastically. "Yeah! She's an inventor, like you! She lives on Earth and has made a ton of awesome stuff. There are these things called capsules she made that can hold entire houses in something that fits in your pocket!"

Saigo's eyes widen. "Well now, that is impressive! Here, if we manage to get your ship back, you can take the Matter Destabilizer back to Earth, as a gift of thanks." Goku grins widely and nods.

The Hera inventor grins at Goku's happiness, then pats the pillar. "Alright. This is the Arc Pylon. I need two of you, probably Vegeta and Zamasu, to carry this through the arc. Once inside, set it down behind those bushes there." Saigo points to said plants a few dozen feet to the right. "After that, just sit back and watch the light show."

Plan in motion, Zamasu and Vegeta grab the Arc Pylon and lift it up, finding the task easy due to their enhanced strength. Cheelai enters first, looking around to make sure no one is watching. Once she gives a small nod, Zamasu and Vegeta bring the pylon through the arc, quickly running over to the set of bushes Saigo pointed out before.

With the Arc Pylon inside the fence and hidden from sight, Saigo places another of the small, palm-sized devices onto the side of the pillar. A soft hum begins to emanate from within the machine, electrical sparks popping and sizzling at the top. Zamasu's eyes narrow in suspicion.

Saigo grins widely, palms rubbing together. "This'll be good. Alright, Cheelai, have the guards noticed?" Cheelai glances beyond the bushes and shakes her head. Saigo's grin widens. "Good. Ok everyone, close your eyes! This'll be bright!"

Saigo flips a switch on the side of the Pylon and the soft hum becomes a dangerous hiss. Zamasu's eyes widen and he quickly shuts them tight, turning away from the machine. Just as he does so, a bright light pierces his eyelids, signaling him of something occurring. Zamasu takes a chance and opens his eyes, then looks at the compound in astonishment.

Every single guard lies motionless on the ground, their weapons dropped nearby. Most of them are smoking, their skin slightly charred from an unknown source. Zamasu looks at the Arc Pylon, then to the guards. "What happened?"

Saigo looks at the compound with giddy eyes. "The Arc Pylon fried them, that's what! They're all unconscious right now, so we can go in and get your ship with no issue!"

The rest of the group slowly open their eyes and look around in the same wonderment as Zamasu. They all walk across the compound slowly, worried that one of the guards might wake up and attack. Saigo strides right along without a care in the world, a large, happy smile on his face.

Zamasu looks at the unconscious guards, then back to Saigo. If this is his doing, which Zamasu has no doubt of, then Saigo's mind is a brilliantly dangerous weapon. A new kindling of respect appears in Zamasu for this genius of a man.

Saigo grabs the leader of the guards, the one who took the three saiyans captive. He lifts him up with some struggle, then adjusts him so that he doesn't fall. Saigo then looks at the saiyans and frowns a bit. "Well, I guess this is goodbye. Your ship is inside, you have no reason to stay."

Zamasu nods in agreement. "That it is. We must thank you for your continued support."

Saigo grins widely. "No biggy. Now then, get a move on before the guards wake up. Me, well, I got to get this guy back to the town. He's just what we need to get Hera back to normal." Zamasu nods in understanding, and the three saiyans turn away.

As they move to the ship, a small, female voice cries, "Wait!" Zamasu turns and sees Cheelai and Toga running up to them. Toga looks between the saiyans, shifting a bit, then says, "We want to come with you!" Cheelai nods. "Anywhere Toga goes, I go too!"

Vegeta smirks, arms crossed as usual. "Well now, this is a pleasant surprise. I was wondering if you'd simply drop your training the second we had to leave."

Toga shakes her head vehemently. "No! I have to keep growing stronger, I must!"

Vegeta nods in satisfaction. "Good. You have drive. Now then, let's go." Vegeta turns, leaving Goku and Zamasu to shake their heads in exasperation and follow, Toga and Cheelai trailing behind.

Saigo watches the group leave, disappearing into the building with their ship. Soon, the loud roar of engines begin, and the ship moves out of the building and up into the sky. Saigo smiles as he watches it disappear beyond the atmosphere. He shakes his head with a fond chuckle and begins walking toward his machine. "Good luck girls. I wish you all safe travels."

The book closes with a sound of finality. Chronoa sighs, looking up at the ceiling. The golden ring, sparking and broken not so long ago, is now dissipated. All that remains is a red ring with a divine-like aura. "You're doing so well Zamasu. You've even made new friends on another planet. Well done."

Chronoa smiles sheepishly and says, "Well, this was a long time coming, but it is done! College isn't easy for the author, and frankily, both of us hate making you guys wait! He apologizes for how long it took, but he can't promise updates will come any faster. He has been very busy as of late, and writing is a second priority."

Chronoa's grin becomes mroe genuine. "Despite that, he does want to keep this story going until the end! We hope you all enjoyed the finale of the Hera Arc, and we hope to see you again in the next! Bye!"
