This world was devastated before I was born.
A harsh, bleak place, where we lived in eternal darkness. Life is a struggle, and people here live without hope.
Silver glanced around his world as he flew, eyes scanning for every danger lurking around in the lava flowing below him, melting buildings and drowning victims it touched.
How did this happen? No one will answer me directly. But they always point...to the flames.
A huge fire-burst of flames exploded in front of the ivory hedgehog, and he jerked back, narrowing his eyes. He raised his hands, and a teal green aurora surrounded him. With a jerked movement, the flames were destroyed, and he glared down at the flames below him.
These flames...they burn away at my world, destroying everything in their path. They come from an eternal life that we cannot truly defeat. The Flames of Disasters known as Iblis...
"SILVER!"
Silver the Hedgehog snapped out of his thoughts, turning to the sound of a cry. A purple cat ran over to him, panting. When she recovered, she glanced up, pointing somewhere up ahead with a look of determination mixed with panic in her amber eyes. Silver narrowed his eyes and darted down to her, glancing at her in concern. "Blaze! What's wrong?"
"He's appeared again!" She responded, pointing behind her.
Silver narrowed his eyes, and bolted away in a flash, followed closely by Blaze. They kept running until they saw the sight of Iblis looming ahead of them, looking threatening as ever. Its firey glare illuminated the rocks as it rose up to face them, roaring. The roar was so powerful that it knocked Blaze and Silver back a little, but Silver quickly recovered, and he turned to Iblis with a dark glare. "C'mon, you MONSTER!"
The monster roared, and Blaze and Silver got into fighting stances.
When the last flames of Iblis melted down, Blaze crossed her arms. "Looks like we stopped it for now."
Silver shook his head and glanced down at the swirling lava below. "But it'll just rise up from its ashes again..." His anger got the best of him, and he angrily banged the nearest debris with his fist. "What's the point of all this?! It'll never end!"
Blaze glanced over at him. "Calm down, Silver."
Silver closed his eyes before opening them again, looking frustrated. "Then tell me what we should do! How could we completely destroy Iblis?!"
The two stood in silence. For once, none of them knew the right answer to that question.
"By knowing the truth, of course."
At that rusty voice, Silver and Blaze both whipped around to see an ebony black and grey striped hedgehog staring down at him, his arms crossed. "Just as a flower comes from a seed, or a chicken comes from an egg, everything has an origin. You need to find the being originally responsible for this catastrophe. "
Silver's ears perked up curiously, and he turned, giving the hedgehog his full attention. "Is that the answer to our problem? Tell me, do you know who it is?"
The dark hedgehog glanced down at the two, his eery green eyes shining like a cat staring into your soul.
The dark hedgehog led Blaze and Silver into a laboratory. It looked like it wasn't used in years...dust covered the computers, and a mouse skittered across the floors, looking for food. Silver glanced around curiously...how was this going to help them find the answer they needed?
Noticing Silver's hesitation, the dark hedgehog spoke up. "To fix this present timeline, you need to change the past. "
Silver glanced at him in confusion. "But...that's impossible!"
"With my help, you can." He pointed out. "because I have the power to travel through time."
Silver jumped back, startled. "NO WAY!"
"In order to change the past," he continued, "you must eliminate the individual who has awakened Iblis...the Iblis Trigger."
Blaze and Silver glanced at each other, and after a moment of thinking, Silver turned to him. "If I eliminate that guy...will our world be saved?"
He nodded. "The day of Disaster...here are my records of this event. This is when Iblis was freed and his flames were released into the world." He turned to the computers in front of them, turning them on. When the screens lit up, several pictures popped up, each one explaining the events of past situations. One of them showed a picture of a human girl.
"And you have this person to blame." The dark hedgehog pulled out a glittering purple Chaos Emerald and handed it to Silver. Once the ivory hedgehog held it in his hands, he received a vision of a blue hedgehog surrounded by the Iblis Trigger's flames.
Silver jumped back, startled. "I SEE it!" He exclaimed. "So, that blue hedgehog's the Iblis Trigger?"
Blaze walked over, glancing down at the purple emerald with a frown. "Blue hedgehog..."
Silver handed the purple Emerald back to the dark hedgehog, who turned around. "I'll send us back in time to the point when the Iblis Trigger was alive." Using his hands, he created a swirling ball of purple and black, and thrust it in the air, creating a vortex around the three. Silver and Blaze covered their eyes, and everything went black.
The portal opened, and Silver hopped out, landing skillfully on the dirt ground below him. The portal disappeared as he stood up, but he didn't care about that. He was more confused about the current situation he was in...it looked like he was standing in a farm field. "Where am I?" Silver mumbled, looking around. "Blaze?"
Silver glanced around, trying again. "BLAZE!"
Blaze was nowhere to be found.
He glanced down. "I guess we all got separated..." He looked up, soaking in the scenery around him. "This is so unbelievable..."
After a moment, he glanced up. "Now...I must fight for the future!"
He took off.
Blaze glanced around the world she had just been transported to. "So this is the past..." She mumbled. She put her hands to her hips, her thoughts going directly to Silver. "I hope Silver is okay. He's pretty insecure when he's alone."
She frowned, glancing down. "The Iblis Trigger...Blue hedgehog..."
She closed her eyes thoughtfully. After a moment, she stood up and walked off.
