The Chase Is On! Find the Destroyer!

"Do you understand the task, Goku?"

Goku salutes, despite Zamasu not being able to see him. "Yep! Find Beerus, tell him we need to go to Universe 6, and get the Dragon Balls! Easy!"

"Just… don't challenge him to a fight, Goku. He's millions of times stronger than Frieza, maybe even Bojack, and that is NOT an exaggeration."

Goku nods again. "Got it. Thanks, Zamasu!" With that, Goku can feel Zamasu exit his mind.

"What did he say, Goku?" Goku turns and sees Chichi looking at him in curiosity and concern. Goku just grins and pulls her close.

"We just got to find the God of Destruction. Zamasu knows the general direction, so we can start making our way there!"

Gohan looks at his dad and tilts his head. "The God of Destruction?"

Goku nods. "His name is Beerus, and he's supposed to be insanely strong, much stronger than me! He's the one who will let us go to Universe 6!"

Chichi frowns, looking down and still a little nervous. "The God of Destruction? He sounds dangerous."

"And you'd be correct on that part."

The Son family whip around at the sound of a new voice. Standing in the middle of the ship, a small smile on his face, is a blue-skinned man. He is wearing a robe intricate in design, almost divine. His white hair sticks straight upward, curving a bit at the top, and his face is decidedly feminine-looking. Around his neck is a large, blue ring, and in his right hand is a staff similar in design to his clothing.

The being smiles and says, "My apologies for intruding, but I heard you speaking of Lord Beerus and I became intrigued on why you were doing so."

Goku frowns a bit, unnerved, but not standing down. "Who are you?"

The being's eyes widens, and then he chuckles a bit. "Ah, my apologies! My name is Whis, and I am Lord Beerus's attendant."

This makes the Son Family pause with wide eyes. Gohan is the first to recover. "Wait, if you're his attendant, then can you bring us to Lord Beerus?"

Whis shakes his head firmly. "Sadly, I cannot. Not because it is outside my capabilities, but because you three have yet to prove yourselves worthy of meeting my master. Now, to reiterate my earlier question, what do you need to see Lord Beerus for?"

Goku nods and responds. "Well, you see, my friend Zamasu told me to look for Beerus since he'd be able to bring us to Universe 6."

Whis raises an eyebrow. "And what business do you have in Universe 6?"

"We're looking for the Super Dragon Balls!"

Whis frowns a bit. "The Super Dragon Balls? I find it odd that a mortal knows of the celestial wishing orbs, but that is my lesser concern. What is your reasoning for finding the Super Dragon Balls?"

Goku rubs his head and looks down, remembering their reasons. "Well, you see, my friend Vegeta wants to revive the saiyans. He said that they didn't get the chance to be who they wanted to be. Something about some guy causing half of them to turn into fighters, and then Frieza coming and taking over shortly after. But another big reason is that Bojack and his guys are coming for us, so we need to be off our home planet so he can't find it."

Whis takes this in, frowning a bit. "Bojack, that name is familiar. May you describe him for me please?"

Goku blinks, then looks up, thinking a bit. "Um, well, he's big and green. He has orange hair and looks like some sort of pirate. Oh, and he's even stronger than Frieza, which is not good."

Suddenly, Whis's eyes widen at the 'stronger than Frieza' comment. "Oh, now I remember! Him and his crew were sealed by the four directional Kais to keep him from causing havoc in the galaxy!"

Startling quickly, Whis's expression turns into one of slight concern. "But why did they seal Bojack when Frieza caused so many issues. Lord Beerus may have used Frieza for odd jobs, but not enough to warrant actual care for the emperor, so fear couldn't have been a factor. Hm, mysterious indeed."

Whis suddenly perks up and smiles, taking the family off guard. "Well then, I do see you have pure intentions! You are certainly stronger than the average saiyan, so them running amok will not be an issue! Plus, it may just fix some issues we are currently having."

Goku grins as Chichi and Gohan smile. "Great," Goku exclaims. "Will you bring us to Lord Beerus then?!"

Whis shakes his head, still smiling. "Sadly, no. Lord Beerus is asleep and he hates being disturbed. No, I will bring you to Universe 6 myself." The Son Family cheers a bit, but then an odd glint appears in Whis's eyes. "On one condition."

Pausing, the family turns to Whis again. "I wish to see your potential." Whis waves his staff, gesturing to the group. "ALL off you."

Ignoring the group's confusion, Whis smiles and hits the floor with his staff. "So, do you accept my terms?"

The family looks at each other. Chichi is the first to speak. "Um, Whis… sir? I'm not a fighter anymore, and I've never been particularly strong. Do I need to have my potential tested too?"

Whis nods with a smile. "Whether or not you continue training is not my concern. I am simply curious and wish to see how strong Universe 7's mortals are currently."

Goku rubs the back of his head and grins. "Well, if there's training, and we can all do it, then I'd love to! Maybe I can beat Zamasu if I do this!"

Whis nods, a more knowing smile on his face. "Yes, Zamasu, Universe 7's prize Kai-in-probation." Ignoring Goku's shocked expression of Whis's knowledge, Whis hits the floor again with his staff. This time, the whole ship glows. "Now then, shall we be off?" Without waiting for a response, the group feels like they are being pulled forward. Outside the ship, the vessel seems to glow brightly, then disappears in a bright streak of light.

A green-skinned woman, light years away, pauses as the energy signature she was pursuing disappears. She frowns, but continues forward, following the direction it seemed to move in. She'll get there eventually.

Deep in space, on a strange object with a large tree on it, a ship arrives in a flash of light. The Son Family stumbles out of the ship, dizziness evident in their eyes. Whis walks behind them calmly, looking no different than before.

Goku rubs his head a bit while grimacing. "Man, that was nothing like instant transmission!"

Whis chuckles softly to himself. "No, my technique is quite different from yours. Now then, I wish to see all of your potentials. As of right now, you must fight me."

This makes Goku stumble a bit. "Wait, fight you?! But Zamasu says that Beerus is the strongest in the universe! If you are his attendant, aren't you super strong?!"

Whis smiles and nods. "You can say that. No need to worry, I won't fight back. Simply try to land a blow on me. Use everything you have."

Goku turns to his family, and they all look at each other. After a few silent exchanges, each of them nods, then turn to Whis, all of them in fighting stances. Even Chichi, despite her nervousness. Without warning, they all charge in.

Whis smiles as he gracefully dances between each of the Son Family's blows. Goku and Gohan give it their best, Chichi providing support from different angles, but nothing seems to be working.

Suddenly, Whis lifts his staff, causing the group to back off, and Whis backflips away. Landing on his staff's orb and righting himself, he casually floats away and nods. "Yes, quite impressive for your levels. However, you aren't using everything, correct?" Whis pointedly looks at Goku with this.

Goku frowns, then nods. He charges in, leaving his family to follow suit. Whis watches Goku with ease, never letting his eyes leave the saiyan. Then, he feels Gohan rush in. Whis briefly turns his focus to Gohan, a part of his mind focusing on Goku. However, as he brushes Gohan aside and looks at Goku, his eyes widen ever so slightly.

From behind, Goku reappears in a whoosh of displaced air. With a yell, Goku throws a punch at the back of Whis's head, hoping his instant transmission trick worked. However, Whis jumps over Goku's attempted strike and floats away from the group once more.

This time, Whis smiles a little wider. "Yes, very impressive! Your teamwork seems to be quite exceptional as well!"

Gohan smiles widely and Chichi laughs at his enthusiasm. Goku grins and pulls them close, creating quite a heartwarming image. Whis smiles, sad he has to break this up. "Now then, while I can safely say your family is quite impressive, it is you, Son Goku, that I am most intrigued about."

As Goku looks at Whis in confusion, Whis floats toward Goku slowly. "Some time ago, I felt a sudden spike of godly energy on the outskirts of the universe. Nothing large, and barely enough to be considered divine. However, it was there, and it got me curious."

Whis, now a few feet from Goku, continues approaching. "Imagine my surprise when I felt it once more in a different power, closer to Lord Beerus's planet. It was different, yes, but I felt the same power from before held inside. And the divine energy of Potara fusion is not easily missed."

Goku's eyes widen in surprise as Whis looks down on him, standing directly in front of the saiyan now. "You hold something great in you, Son Goku. I wish to know what it is."

Without warning, Whis lowers his staff and thrusts it into Goku's stomach. Goku gags with wide eyes, not expecting the blow, and unable to block it even if he did. He feels his ki fluctuate, rolling around inside him. His eyes flash silver for a brief second, then fall back to black.

As Goku stumbles back, cradling his stomach in pain, Whis smiles widely. "Oh my, my suspicions are correct! You seem to have the power of Ultra Instinct within your body!"

Goku, still in pain, mutters, "U-Ultra… Instinct?" Chichi and Gohan, tending to Goku's injuries, look at Whis with cautious curiosity.

Whis nods. "Yes. Ultra Instinct is a divine technique where the user can attack and defend without having to think. You, Son Goku, seem to have some form of mortal Ultra Instinct within you. You are using pure instincts, like the divine technique, but you lack the divine power to make you completely at peace."

Goku, finally recovering from Whis's blow, stands up. "So… I am using some sort of god power when I have the silver eyes?"

Whis shrugs a bit. "That, I am uncertain of. You very well could be. Even the smallest ounce of god ki in a body that is unready will cause extreme pain upon the technique ending. Sometimes, it can even cause death."

This makes Goku pause. Remembering the two times he's used the pseudo-UI, against Vegeta and in Vegito, he can remember the extreme pain he felt when the power wore off. Something like that wasn't natural for what he was doing. Was Goku really using god ki when he "transformed" like that?

Goku, straightening a bit, says to Whis, "Um, Mr. Whis?" Whis looks at Goku with amusement in the name. "May you train me? I wish to become better with this Ultra Instinct technique."

Whis hums for a bit, then shakes his head. "Sadly, I cannot. Ignoring the fact I have duties to attend to before Lord Beerus awakes, you are simply too weak to handle a divine being's training. Become stronger, and then I might consider it."

Sighing in disappointment, but understanding the reasoning, Goku nods. "Alright." Goku looks at Whis again. "But will you take us to Universe 6?"

Whis smiles and nods. "This I can do. When you arrive, you will be in the jurisdiction of Lord Champa and my sister Vados. They will help you search for the Super Dragon Ball in Universe 6."

Goku smiles and thanks Whis, his wife and son doing the same. Chuckling a bit, Whis tells them to follow him. The Son Family follows without question.

Zangya, who was following the Son Family, suddenly stops. She blinks in confusion, then mutters, "What the hell?"

Frowning, she pulls out a device and inputs a number. After two rings, a person on the other line says, "What is it, Zangya?"

Zangya looks in the direction she felt the energy of the family before it disappeared. "The group I was pursuing. It suddenly vanished."

"Vanished," Bojack questions. "What the hell do you mean, 'vanished'?"

"Just as I said, boss," Zangya replies. "I can't sense them anymore. It's like they aren't even in our universe anymore."

A pause on the other side. "That's not good. They must've gone to Universe 6 somehow."

Zangya tsks in annoyance. "And we can't get there ourselves. Damn it!" Sighing, Zangya continues with, "Alright, what do you want me to do?"

Bojack hums, then says, "Follow Bido after his group. He might need the assistance, with him being the weakest of us all."

Nodding, Zangya says, "Alright. Bye boss." Without even a reply back, Bojack hangs up. Zangya sighs, then turns around, locking onto the energy of her ally. Her aura ignites and she begins flying toward it, eager to find a new target to beat down.

Chronoa smiles, giddy with energy, as she closes the book. "Universe 6, here we come! That'll be fun!"
