Kogu's Onslaught! Unleash the Beast!

Vegeta has no time to react before Kogu charges into the fray. The saiyan prince jumps back, barely avoiding the sword that Kogu is using. The prince, while certain he can block metal blades, has been a bit more cautious with blades from being around Goku and Zamasu.

The group stares at the Hera warrior as he smirks at Vegeta. "Nice dodge. How long can you last though?" Without another word, he charges in once more.

This time though, the group is ready. With a short cry of "BROLY!" from Paragus, the behemoth of a saiyan charges in. Vegeta wastes no time and charges in after him, eager to use this 2-on-1 advantage.

Broly rushes into Kogu's guard and tries to uppercut the Hera. Kogu lowers his sword and blocks the strike, twisting his blade to make Broly stumble backward.

Vegeta uses this to move in and land a flying kick to Kogu's chest. The Hera slides back across the air, grimacing at the blow, but his smile never leaving his face. In fact, it grows even wider.

"Amazing! Finally, a challenge! You're a cut above the rest, I'll give you that!" Kogu accents this by coating his blade in blazing green energy and throwing it forward. Vegeta barely dodges the flying blade, only for Kogu to appear behind him, catch the sword, and swing down on the prince.

Broly moves in and blocks the blade with his arm, a small coat of dark green energy covering his arm. Kogu's eyes widen briefly at the sight of Broly's energy, giving the behemoth time to send the Hera flying backward with a quick punch.

Vegeta lowers into his fighting stance as Kogu recovers. Broly glances at Vegeta, then imitates the stance himself, copying Vegeta's movements. Vegeta notices this and thinks to himself, "So his adaptations are through movement and technique. Wonderful, he might be able to use that strength of his if he watches me."

Before Kogu can utter a word, Broly launches himself at Kogu, using techniques very similar to Vegeta's own. Vegeta teleports behind Kogu with a burst of speed and launches the Hera into the air.

Kogu, staring up into the heavens, smirks a bit as he feels the two saiyans approach. String pools from his left hand as his right brandishes his sword. Right as Broly and Vegeta get close to Kogu, the Hera flexes the strings and brings his arms up.

CLANG

The loud sound echoes as both Broly and Vegeta stare at Kogu in astonishment. Kogu's sword blocks Vegeta's hand while what looks like a hardened blade of ki strings blocks Broly's. Kogu looks up and grins viciously, then screams.

The saiyans are sent flying backward as Kogu lowers into a power-up stance. The Hera's earrings and necklace begin to flash with energy, pouring out in torrential amounts. Then, with one final roar, Kogu explodes into the Super Hera form.

Vegeta barely has time to widen his eyes before Kogu seems to teleport forward and slam his string-covered fist into Vegeta's stomach. Vegeta flies back, but before he gets too far, Kogu tightens his strings and wraps Vegeta up. The prince grimaces as he feels himself get restrained and pulled around.

Broly tries rushing in to attack the powered-up Kogu, but the Hera just swings Vegeta around and slams them into each other. Kogu grins widely as he holds onto Vegeta's cocoon with one hand, the other brandishing his sword. "Come on, you wild beast! You're boring me!"

Broly grits his teeth as he feels anger rush into him. He grabs his head, trying to fight it, but he can't push it back. His power begins rising as his anger grows. His eyes widen and his irises flash gold as Broly lets out a roar of power.

Kogu grins wickedly, his eyes wide in bloodlust. "Yes, let me hear you scream! Show me your power!" Broly responds by turning to Kogu and rushing at him with a scream of rage.

Kogu smirks and tries batting Broly away with Vegeta, but this time the brute catches the prince. Broly grabs the strings and pulls, tearing them apart. Kogu's eyes widen in shock, then narrow in concern. The Hera flies backward as Broly continues rushing at him.

The Hera swordsman slides between each of Broly's wild blows. While his anger seems to be giving him a substantial power boost, his technique is almost completely lost, giving Kogu plenty of time and ease to read Broly's movements.

Broly yells and slams his fist into Kogu's hand. Kogu grits his teeth and pushes back, his veins bulging from the exertion. Kogu stares at Broly with wide eyes as he feels the force grow. "The hell?! Is he getting stronger?!"

Kogu yells as he swings Broly around and launches him into the air. He builds up green energy around his two outstretched hands. He brings his hands back, then throws them at Broly with a cry of, "TAKE A GIFT FROM THE BOSS!"

A mighty explosion erupts as Broly is hit with two orbs of energy. Kogu watches with cautious, yet confident eyes. Then, his eyes widen as he sees Broly fly out of the cloud. Before Kogu can react, Broly slams his fist into Kogu's stomach.

With that single opening, Broly begins pounding Kogu into the dust. Kogu grits his teeth and tries to block, but Broly instead grabs his wrist and begins swinging him around, slamming him into the ground repeatedly.

Broly throws Kogu away with a roar and runs after the flying Hera. Kogu rights himself midair and stairs at the oncoming Broly. He brandishes his sword and charges at Broly as well. Broly brings his fist back as Kogu prepares his sword to swing. The two throw their blows…

CRACK

Kogu has just enough time to register his sword's blade shattering before Broly slams his fist into the Hera's face. Kogu flies backward, his body tumbling across the ground as he disappears into the forest they are fighting in.

Broly stares at where Kogu disappeared and begins walking toward it. His eyes are wide and his fists clenched tightly, his veins bulging from the pure rage in his system. His eyes widen and he screams, his aura erupting around him.

Broly's body seems to convulse as his muscles grow in size and his hair rises. Electricity arcs around the saiyan as he screams once more, his green aura doubling in size. His eyes flash gold, slowly settling into the color.

And then Broly screams in pain as his body is filled with electricity. The behemoth of a saiyan falls to the ground, clawing at his neck as his anger and power rush out of his body, leaving him broken in agonizing pain. Then, just as quickly as it began, the pain stops.

Broly breathes heavily, his eyes wide from the experience. A crash is heard from the woods and Broly looks up as he sees Kogu exit the forest. Other than a few scratches and bruises from the scuffle, the Hera looks relatively unharmed.

Kogu looks at Broly's downed form with fury in his eyes. He raises his hand and begins charging energy. "YOU'VE DONE TOO MUCH HARM TO LIVE! SAY GOODBYE, FILTH!"

Then, a loud boom echoes across the land. Kogu's eyes widen as he stumbles back, powering out of his Super Hera form. He yells and grabs his left shoulder, a massive gaping hole taken out of it, and the flesh around the wound charred and cauterized to a blackened mess.

At the ship, Bulma curses as she lowers what looks like a large, tripod-mounted railgun. The barrel is smoking and glowing red hot, but seems to have no damage. "Damn it," Bulma cries. "I knew my aim with this thing was bad, but not THAT bad!"

Paragus chuckles as he watches Kogu squirm in pain and grip his shoulder. "Your weapon still seemed to work."

Bulma tsks and turns away from Paragus, disgust in her eyes. "Don't talk to me right now. What you did was horrible."

Paragus looks at Bulma with narrowed, hateful eyes, but instead opts to sigh. "No time for that. Come, quickly! He may be weakened, but he can kill both of us without effort. We must leave and gain distance!"

Nodding in agreement, Bulma and Paragus run over to the fallen forms of Broly and Vegeta. Broly needed help reaching the ship due to his injuries and being used like a chain whip did not help Vegeta stay awake.

Kogu watches as the meddling saiyans and earthling get into their ship, watching as it begins rising into the air. He tries to bring his arm forward to shoot their ship down, but the second he lets go of his arm, a searing pain settles in. Kogu grits his teeth and watches with pained, defeated eyes as the ship disappears into space, quickly picking up speed.

Walking over to and sitting on a rock next to a river, Kogu grabs a small pouch beneath his scabbard. He pulls out some first aid and begins tenderly treating his wound. As he does so, he pulls out a small phone-like device and calls a number, setting it on speaker.

After two rings, Bojack's angry "What is it now?!" is heard on the other line.

"Sorry for disturbing you, Boss," Kogu says between labored breaths. "But I'm out of commission for now. That earthling woman with the blue hair had some sort of weapon that pierced straight through my shoulder and cauterized it in an instant. I have to treat it before chasing after them again. Not to mention they broke my damn sword."

"Damn," Bojack exclaims, ignoring Kogu's last comment. "That sounds like a Hera weapon! Where did she get-... those little brats."

Kogu raises an eye at this. "Boss?"

"Nevermind that! Focus on recovering and get your ass moving again, unless you want a little of my encouragement?"

Kogu flinches and shakes his head, despite knowing Bojack can't see it. "Uh, no Boss, I understand. It shouldn't take long."

"Good! Now, I'm closing in on their leader. No more calls!" And without another word, Bojack hangs up. Kogu sighs and begins treating his shoulder. He looks around the forest and smiles, softer than anything he's had before. At the very least he'll have some peace in this beautiful place before he has to go pillaging again.

Chronoa closes the book with a small grin on her face. "That was a fun little battle. Poor Vegeta though, he got destroyed!"

Fu shifts in his seat and sighs loudly, staring up at the Time Nest's ceiling. "Yeah, but where're the new planets, new people?! It's just been the Heras chasing the Earthling this whole time! No new data anywhere!"

Chronoa rolls her eyes and says, "Yes, but Vegeta IS making that new attack, and I'm certain that new planets will be found soon."

Fu sighs even louder, then looks at Chronoa and waves his hand. "Alright, alright. Well, finish up your normal stuff. I want to go do experiments again!"

Chronoa rolls her eyes again, then turns with a grin. "Well, thanks for reading! A bit shorter this time since the author got a bit stuck, but he pulled out in the end! Oh, and he also said that things will be bouncing around quite a bit as the Heras close in! Not every battle will take place in consecutive chapters, as these chapters ARE going chronologically!"
