And Edmund was going to die. All because of him.

Peter glared fiercely and ran at Miraz, practically throwing Rhindon hard on the man, but unfornately, the man brought his sword up to defend himself.

"You, like your brother are just children! You don't deserve to be king of any land! Children! Ruling a whole country!" Miraz sneered, making Peter even angrier.

"Peter!" Caspian gasped behind him. Peter turned his head, making his enemy use the small chance he had against him. "Peter! Look out!" The accented boy pointed and Peter stopped Miraz's sword coming through his flesh and blood.

"Peter! Where's your brother?!"

"He's there!" Peter snapped, thrusting his sword forwards until Miraz said something making him stop.

"If you kill me, King of Narnia, then that guard behind you will kill Caspian." Peter slightly lowered his sword but not losing his grip on it. "Well?" Peter turned around to see a guard holding a knife to Caspian's throat. He couldn't stand the kid but who cared at the moment.

"Fine."

"Drop your weapons."

"Only if you promise to help Edmund."

"I promise," The man smirked and as soon as Peter dropped the precious sword that Father Christmas had given him guards rushed in, grabbing Peter by the arms roughly. The High King felt inside that Miraz was going to do something very very bad. Narnia was in grave danger...

"Narnians! I have your kings!"

The words silenced everything as if a deadly chill had come into the air so suddenly. Susan tightened her grip on her bow and arrow. Oh no. What had happened? Did something go wrong? Was Peter and Edmund all right? Were they hurt? And where was Caspian? Was she the only free Pevensie except for Lucy?

"If you do not surrender, they will die."

"How do we know if you're lying or not!" Caspian glared up at the balcony. Susan bit her lip, a Narnian stepping closer to her to protect her.

"You do not, Caspian," Miraz smirked and started to turn around when they all heard a shout.

"HE'S DEAD! YOU LET HIM DIE! YOU -YOU FREAKIN MURDERER!" Susan could tell it was Peter's voice... but who was he talking about? Edmund. Oh no. No, no no!

"YOU KILLED EDMUND!" The echoes of sobbing went throughout the frozen battle scene. Trumpkin looked up at Susan with a sad look on his face.

"Don't say anything that I'm the Queen of Narnia, DLF."

"Of course," Pain shot through her heart as she realized her little brother was dead... Was he? She was so confused, could Peter be acting? No, he wouldn't be so... vulnerable to do that.

Peter shoved the guards off of him and ran to Edmund's side.

"Don't die, Edmund. Don't die on me." Edmund looked up at him through pain-filled eyes.

"It's all right, Pete."

"No, it isn't," Peter put his little brother's head in his lap.

"Aw, c'mon, Pete -"

"King," Miraz spat. "Will you please tell your Narnians to surrender?"

"Never," Peter glared.

"Well then. Would you like me to kill him now?"

"You wouldn't."

"I don't need two hostages -" He waved his hand and the guards took Edmund off Peter's lap who snarled angrily. Ed moaned in pain, clearly not knowing what was going on.

"Eddy," He whispered. Edmund started to have short breath, just like the time at Beruna. Peter felt all the same emotions. It was like living a nightmare. Peter started to go to him but a guard grabbed his forearm, pulling him back.

"Edmund!" He watched his brother's chest fall and rise.

"Let him go with his brother, he's going to die anyway." Miraz said before going back to the balcony and started to speak to the Narnians. As soon as he was released, the High King ran to Ed and fell on his knees holding his brother's clammy hand.

"I 'ove you, Su an' Lu..." Edmund stopped breathing. Peter shook his head furiously, begging for this to be a nightmare.

"HE'S DEAD! YOU LET HIM DIE! YOU -YOU FREAKIN MURDERER!" Peter started to sob knowing Edmund's wound was too great to even try CPR.

"YOU KILLED EDMUND!"

That day King Edmund of the Western Woods died.

All of Narnia wept, but most of all, the three remaining Pevensies mourned.

A/N: And there. I killed Ed off. ThE EnD. Please don't murder me, I was just feeling like writing angst today. :)
