Chapter One - Lonely Hearts
Keith woke to a wet feeling in his ear, soon traveling to his face. He heard a soft whine in his ear, and a thumping on his bed. Kosmo. Keith opened his eyes and was face-to-face with his big, black and white husky. He hated when Keith got up late, and if Keith didn't listen to him and just stayed asleep, his next move would've been laying on him. Scratching his behind Kosmo's ear, Keith got up.
Stretching, Keith walked over to his closet and picked what he wanted to wear, a red Texas tee with black ripped jeans. Tying his hair back into a ponytail, he patted Kosmo on the head and headed down the steps. He was greeted by his brother, Shiro, and his boyfriend, Adam.
Sitting down at the kitchen table with Kosmo at his feet, Adam gave him a plate of toast, eggs, and bacon. After eating, he slipped on his jacket and waved goodbye to Shiro and Adam, taking Kosmo on the leash for a quick walk.
He checked their mailbox for mail, and they went around the small block, and back to the house again. Letting Kosmo back in the house and grabbing his school bag, he left for the bus stop.

Lance's mom woke him up that morning, not Callie, one of the family's maids. She said his father wanted him to get up earlier to ask him a few questions about his future. So, Lance got up, put on his robe and took a stroll to his father's office. His family owned a large clothing factory, he sold all types, shirts, jackets, dresses, jeans, shawls, and a whole bunch more Lance couldn't think of at the moment.
His father, Kray McClain, made the best clothing in all of Altea. They were soft, comfy, and most of all, pretty expensive. But they lasted longer. So it was always worth the money. His father says Luis would take over the business, since he's the oldest. Luis always looked forward to running the McClain Clothing Line, especially after he married Lisa and they had Silvio and Nadia.
Anyway, Lance trailed down to his father's office, passing a few maids who waved to him. Once he approached the big, white doors, he inhaled a deep breathe, and walked in.
His father greeted him and told him to sit down, and they started their chat about the factory. They talked about new ideas for prints on shirts and sweatshirts, new patterns for ties, and a soft silk for a new dress. The normal Monday morning. Except, he asked something Lance didn't except.
"How are you and Allura?" He asked.
"Okay." He said, faking the most perfect smile he could manage. Lance always tried to avoid that question, because in reality, they weren't okay. They saw each other every day, but Lance couldn't help but feel they were falling out of love. He could she was falling more and more in love with Lotor, the assistant mayor's son. The three of them were always the best of friends growing up. And of course both Lance and Lotor had a massive crush on Allura. Lance had won her, but now Lance feels Lotor is starting to win.
"That's good." His father responds with a smile. "Because I have a prom dress ready for her, for your prom night."
Lance nodded and faked another smile, his father returning it with a nod. Lance took that as a sign he could leave.
He'd have to talk to Allura about the dress. And that maybe his father was catching onto them.
Allura knew Lance was growing out of love for her, and becoming more lonely by the day. And she also knew Lance knew about her secret relationship with Lotor, which Lance helped her hide. They only stay together because of their parents. They both want to make their fathers happy, and staying together meant it would keep them happy.
Alfor knew from the day Lance was born, Allura would either marry him or Lotor, and when she picked Lance, it showed that she would end up marrying him and not Lotor. Kray was always open to the idea, Zarkon, not so much. He wanted Lotor to become the mayor's husband, and craved money. Only God knows why he's still the assistant mayor.
Lance changed out of his robe and into his white dress shirt and light jeans. Lance was required to wear those types of clothes by his father, and Allura was required to wear a white dress by her father, so they would match.
He combed back his hair and put on his makeup to hide his freckles, again, requested by his father. Kray was ashamed that Lance had so many freckles and he had none, so he was supposed to hide them. Allura had always loved them though.
Strolling down the large, spiraling steps of their mansion, Lance walked to the car, where his driver, Blaytz, met him. He drove him to school. Lance met Allura in the front lawn, and just for the sake of Blaytz telling his father, he kissed her cheek, and they walked in.
They talked about how their weekend was, greeted some other students and handled other ones saying Ship you guys!
Allura talked about Cookie, her cat, and how she had gotten into her father's paper work and he wasn't very appreciated about it.
The school day came and went, and Lance was left in the school, without Allura because she had to leave early for an appointment. Lance closed his locker and walked down the hall, and soon was greeted by a guy who ran into him, and the guy fumbled onto of him. "Hey, watch it." The guy said, anger hinted in his voice.
"You watch where you're going." Lance spit back, pushing the guy off of him. Only then did he realize that the guy was unmistakably hot. He had pale skin with violet, navy eyes and soft raven hair. Minus his mullet, he was still hot.
"Whatever." The guy said, pushing past Lance and storming out of the school. Lance huffed and walked over to where Blaytz normally picked him up and had him drive him home.
