I had an explanation but left it out. Your reaction is kind of what I wanted. So here is your explanation. Pyrrha took Ruby's last name as like a passive vow to always be there. Think of it like Pyrrha saying "One day I want us to be wife and wife. This is how I choose to say so.". Also, since I am a shamelessly and unapologetically proud American, I plan on bringing my nation into this all. So you don't know. Maybe Ruby is from Alabama.
