Heroes & Villains

Tarot stood frozen in Rune's rune. Both her brother and father was glaring at her with disappointment in their eyes. Something else flashed in her brother's eyes. Something she had seen before, but it was never directed at her. Hate. He hated her now. She tried to call up some jack-o-lanterns, but the second she did Rune trapped them.

Raven stalked up to her. Without a word he back handed her. "I can't believe you. After everything I've done for you. This is how you repay me?"

Tarot's face stung, blood dripped from the corner of her lip. She steeled herself. It was the first of many hits she was going to get. "I never wanted this life. You never gave us a chance to chose."

More pain shot through her face as her head snapped back. Her vision swam for a moment before she noticed her brother standing in front of her. He was breathing heavy. He had punched her.

"How could you do this?" Rune hissed. "And with a to be hero from UA?"

"What are you talking about?"

"I saw you with that guy. That pathetic wanna be hero? Have you been with him this whole time?" Rune pulled back his fist.

Air rushed from Tarot's lungs when Rune's fist collided with her stomach. She wheezed for air.

More punches and kicks came from her brother.

Tarot bit back her cries. She knew if she made a sound things would only be worse. At least Shinso didn't get pulled here with her. Since she was family there was a chance, though a slim one, that they wouldn't kill her. Shinso wouldn't have been so lucky.

"What are you thinking about, Tarot?" Rune asked. "Are you thinking of him?"
Tarot didn't answer.

"Well, once I'm done here I will go out and find him. And you know what I'll do to him."

Tarot glared through her eyes. With one swollen eye she was sure it didn't give the desired affect.

Rune smirked. "That's what I thought."

"It's over, Tarot. You've betrayed us." Raven closed his eyes. He opened them and lifted a knife. "You must be punished for such a betrayal."

Tarot braced herself. This was it. She closed her eyes and drew in a deep breath. Before she got it all in a sharp pain erupted from her stomach. She didn't have to look to know her dad stabbed her. More strikes came.

The wall exploded. A familiar voice rang out, "Stop it!"

Through the pain and blood Tarot turned to see three guys rushing in through the hole now in the house's wall. Through her blurred vision she noticed one of them was Shinso. The others had green and black hair.

Suddenly Tarot's body was free. She wanted to take a step towards Shinso but her body gave out and she collapsed to the floor. Before she knew it she was staring into Shinso's worried eyes. Around them a fight was happening. She wanted to look and see what was going on. But her vision started to darken.

"Hold on, Tarot. You're going to be fine now," Shinso said before Tarot's eyes closed.
