Trapped in the closet

Chapter 6

Driving down the road, Rose sat in the passenger seat thinking. She could not believe what happened. She saw Sean. The last person she wanted to see. She could not believe he acted that way, and the way he grabbed her, those dirty words he whispered in her ear. He still has not changed. Looking down at the red, and sort of swollen wrist proved that. It wasn't right. She felt ashamed about what happened. She never thought that she would see Sean again, much less at East High. And what's worse, Chad was involved in the situation. Now her problem is that she will be asking some hard questions. She closed her eyes, listening to Chad singing to the Boyz to Men's "On Bended Knee." on the radio. Rose could help but laugh a little. Listening to those sweet sound of his voice. She turned her attention towards the Wildcat listening to him signing to the lyrics:

/Darlin' I can't explain, where did we lose our way
Girl, it's drivin' me insane and I know
I just need one more chance to prove my love to you
If you come back to me I guarantee that I'll never let you go.
can we go back to the days our love was strong.
Can you tell me how a perfect love goes wrong.
Can somebody tell me how you get things back the way it used to be
Oh God give me the reason, I'm down on bended knees
I'll never walk again until you come back to me I'm down on bended knees./

"He's gives me chills!" Rose thought to herself. She could not help but chuckle. One thing she was thankful for is having someone to make her feel better.

"What?" He asked her, snapping him out of his singing.

"Nothing," She replied. Chad took a quick glance at the road before looking at her.

"Tell me what are you thinking now." He replied.

Sighing, Rose replied, "I'm thinking that you have a beautiful singing voice. You should quit school, find a manager, and tour around the world!" Chad laughed.

"That sounds like a good plan." He added. "But my parents would have my ass if I ever even think about quitting school. Also, I'm not much of a singer. I'm more into Basketball. Turning down a long road, they came across an open space. The sun shined beautiful on the water, and there was nothing but peace and quiet. The car pulled to a stop.

"And, we are here," he replied. "Give me a second. I have to get the Frist Aid kit out of my trunk."

Opening the passenger door. Rose stepped out. The two of them walked down a trail. Rose felt a warm feeling when she felt Chad grabbed her hand.

They sat down on a bench nearby a river. There was a bird pond nearby. The grass was neatly cut, thanks to a gardener that worked there. As Chad was preparing the materials, Rose continued to look around at her surroundings. Once Chad was finished, he looked up at her and smiled, watching as she closed her eyes, and took a deep breath of fresh air.

"What do you think about my place?" He asked her, Rose turned to look at him.

"It's so quiet," Rose replied. "I love the soft sounds of the birds. The smell of the fresh air."

"I'm glad you do," He replied.

"How did you know about this place?" Rose asked him.

"I found it this past Spring. I had exams on top of basketball practice, and I couldn't concentrate at school. I would come here when I need to study, or the weekends when I need to be to myself." He replied looking at her.

"I see."

"Alright, He replies reaching out his hand. Let me take a look at that wrist." He reached for her hand, but Rose took it back, making a small pout.

"Ah! Ah, Young lady. We skipped History class, and you refused to go to the school nurse. Let me see…I'll promise I'll be gentle."

Nodding her head, Rose watched as he gently took her wrist, examining the bruise.

"It looks like it gotten redder when I looked at it earlier. Is it sore?" He asked her.

"A little." She replied. "It sort of stings."

Chad nod his head. "Well, I'm not going to worry about applying the alcohol. It may hurt. I think I'll put some jelly on it instead."

"No," Rose replied. "I need it."

"Are you sure?"

"It's the only way the swelling's going down," She replied.

"I promise I'll be gentle" Chad repeated. Rose nods her head. Opening the Frist Aid kit, Chad took a bottle of rubbing alcohol, along with some cotton balls.

"I'm sorry." Rose replied suddenly.

"What for?" Chad asked.

"For dragging you into this," She replied.

"Listen," Chad began. One thing you have to stop doing is apologizing to me. I'm glad I was there, because if I wasn't, who knows what he could have done. He better be lucky that I wasn't in one of my bad moods." Grabbing the soaked cotton ball, Chad applied it to the red mark, causing Rose to flinch a little.

"Sorry, Sorry." He replies. "Here let me…" He took her wrist and blew on it softly. "Feel better?"

"Yeah," She breathed. "Much better."

"And you were not kidding about him being an ass! Dude has some issues." Chad replied getting a tube Vaseline. "It was out of line the way out of line. The way he grabbed you. It made me angry."

"I know. I don't want you to get angry. I like you happy, and I'm okay." Rose replied with a smile.

Chad smiled back. "I know. I like me when I am happy too." Finishing the last touches of her wrists, he replied, "We're done."

"Wow! You fix it!" Rose replied.

"Now, Ms. Waters, I expect you to take it easy with that wrist. Don't add no pressure if needed. Promise?"

Rose Laughed. "I promise. Thank you Doctor Chad." She looked up and noticed him staring at her. "What?" She asked. Chad mad a side smile. "Is there something on my face?"

Chad laughed. "No." he smiled. "You're perfect." Rose blush at the comment. "I don't know what's going on. I'm having feelings that I never felt before."

"What kind of feelings?" Rose asked.

"Feelings about you," He replied. "It's like, when I'm around you, I feel different. I hadn't felt like this, except for one time when I was ten, my dad got me this bad ass bike for Christmas." They laughed.

"So I'm like a bike?" Rose joked. Chad laughed.

"No! Of course not. You know what I mean…" He replied. Suddenly, he reached over and took her hand in his. "I have strong feelings for you. And I can tell you feel the same way."

Rose's heart sank in her chest. Did she heard what she heard? Chad had strong feelings for her. Unexpectedly, she was not prepared when Chad edged closer, and pressed his lips against hers. She could tell by his kiss that he wanted more, not like they kissed in her room. Rose gave in, opening her mouth to allow him access. She wrapped her arms around him, and he returned the favor. Rose could feel the heat all over her body as every touch felt like an increase. He removed his lips from her to her neck, kissing down to her pulse point. In the moment, Rose felt turned on, but felt a certain guilt. Opening her eyes, she forgot one thing…

"Mom, he has a girlfriend." Rose remembered telling her mom "Girlfriend, girlfriend, girlfriend…"

"Chad," Rose replied. Stopping his movements. He lifted his head to look into her eyes. Rose could still feel him rubbing the small of her back. She could feel his heavy breathing on her skin.

"What's wrong?" He asked in a breathy tone.

"We can't do this," She whispered to him. Understanding what she meant, Chad nodded his head, and removing his arms from around her. Rose felt his warm hands hand were replaced by the cool breeze from the water.

"You're right," He replied. "We should get back." She sighed and lean closer to her, kissing her forehead. Rose closed her eyes…feeling his soft lips on her skin.

Riding back to East High School, Rose sat quiet in the car as Chad drove. It was a silent ride, and this time Chad wasn't singing. only humming. Rose hoped that she didn't hurt his feelings. The truth was she was crazy about him, but he is in another relationship. She silently looked out at the window with her hands on her lap. Chad looked over at her, watching her being occupied by the view. He reached over and took her hand into his, snapping her out of her thoughts. She turned to look at him smiling, and he return the gesture. Finally, they arrived at the school, pulling into the nearest spot. Chad released his grip of her hand before getting out, and shutting the door. He walked over to the passenger side, unexpectedly Rose let herself out.

"You know, I could have gotten that for you." He replied.

"Yeah. But I didn't want it to look too obvious." Rose replied. Before Chad could make a response, a voice called out, "Chad!" They turned to see Taylor walking towards them.

"Taylor," Chad replied as the young girl walked up to him. Rose watched as she gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek. She looked away for a second.

"I miss you." Taylor replied.

"I miss you," Chad repeated back. Rose's eyes trailed down to the floor, feeling a dull tug on her heart.

"I miss you more!" She replied. "I got out of class early. I went by your class earlier. Your teacher said you weren't there. She sounded really pissed."

"Yeah," he replies. I skipped class today. She's pissed about it. She will get over it."

"Okay, so why did you skipped class?" Taylor asked.

With her question, Chad looked at Rose, who return the expression. "Troy needed me to help him with his truck. And you know I couldn't say no." He lied.

"Oh," Taylor said nodding her head.

"I think I better go," Rose mouthed at him before walking away.

"No- wait!" Chad replied reaching over to take her hand. Realizing that Taylor was standing there, He removed his hand quickly.

"Taylor, I want to introduce to Rose."

"Rose Waters." She replied. "You're Taylor Mackenzie, right?"

"Yes," She replied with smiled. "So you're Chad's history partner?"

"Yeah, I am." Rose replied. Taylor widened her eyes.

"Oh okay! Sorry, I was taken aback. Chad didn't tell me you were a female, much less a pretty one."

"I'll take that as a comperment," Rose smiled.

"That's a good thing. It's just when you're dating the most popular boy in school, you gotta keep your guard up."

Feeling afended by Taylor choice of words, Rose replied, "Well, you don't have to worry about that. At least not with me. It's strictly work. No romantic feelings involved."

Taylor nod her head in understanding. "Oh! What happen to your wrist?"

Rose looked down and replied, I injured it while I was P.E class earlier. The nurse took care of it. It's good as new!" She replied. "Listen, I hate to cut this short, but I have to pick up my young brother." She looked at Chad, who had an awkward expression on his face. "I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow," Chad replied back. And Rose walked away. To be honest, he didn't want her to leave. Especially after everything they done. Taylor noticed his facial expression.

"Are you okay?"

Chad smiled. "Of course, I'll be okay. Why would I be?"

"You had a concern look on your face." She replied.

Trying to cover up his worried expression, Chad replied, "There's no need to worry about that love The only thing I am concern about is you." Taylor smiled at his answer before giving him a quick kiss on the lips.

"You better be." She replied.

Pulling into the driveway, Rose heaved a breath before getting out of the car. She walked to the door, unlock the lock, and stepped inside. Walking inside, she turned the corner to see Elijah and her mom playing.

"Rosie! Rosie! Rosie!" Elijah replied giving her a hug.

"Hey baby," Rose replied with a smile. "What are you guys up to?"

"We were having a tickle battle, and Mom's cheating."

"Hey! What did I tell you about that word?" Her mom replied.

"That's it bad to say during tickle battle," Elijah replied with a pout.

"Right. That's all for now. You are free to watch Power Rangers." She ordered.

"Yay!" Elijah exclaimed. Before running past them to turn on the T.V.

"I'm glad that you guys are having a great time," Rose replied.

"Yeah. Elijah had no homework, and you know what that means?"

"Tickle battle!" Rose replied laughing. Her mom nod her head.

"How was school today?" her mom asks her.

"It was good. My classes went well," She lied.

"Hm, even if that means having a wrapped bandage around your wrist?" Her mom asked. Rose shut her eyes, and thought "Oh shit!" she had to come up with an excuse.

"I had P.E class and I injured my wrist. I went to the nurse's office, and it's good as new! I accidently dodged a ball and fell.

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear about honey." Her mom said. "Do you want me to fix you anything?"

"No, she replied. "I'm fine. I'm not hungry right now. I just wanna lay down," Rose replied.

"Okay. If you need anything. Let me know," She replied before Rose went upstairs to her room.

Walking into her room, Rose dropped her purse in the middle of the room. She flopped on the bed, sighing when she felt the soft cushions on her. She wished that she could stay in this bed forever. But right now, she needed a shower. Groaning, she managed to stand to her feet, walking into the bathroom, and closing the door. A few minutes later. Rose stepped out wearing her grown, completely un aware that someone was standing behind her. Walking over to her bed, and pulling the sheets back. She looked up from her mirror and was startled by what she saw.

"Chad!" Rose exclaimed, grabbing her towel to cover herself. "What are you doing here?"

"I had to check up on you," He replied, walking up to her. "I'm sorry if I scared you."

"You did…a little. No, I had to get home to rest," She replied.

"Yeah, I'm sorry about what happened earlier."

"No. No, I understand." Rose replied. You didn't have to come here to see me."

"I know," He replied. "But I had to. I just felt bad…it's like I blew you off."

"You didn't." She replied.

"That didn't sound too convincing," He replied with a side smile.

"Shut up!" You know what I mean."

"Yeah, I know. Taylor can be very unsecure around people…especially females." He stated.

"Well, she doesn't have to be around me. There is no romantic interest." Chad was taken aback.

"What? What do you there's no-"

"You know what I mean," Rose replied sitting down on the bed. "Why do you think I stopped you earlier when we were kissing? It was because I felt guilty. I felt like I was doing something wrong."

"You didn't do anything wrong," Chad replied sitting on the bed next to her. "I meant what I said earlier. I'm falling- for fuck sake, I am falling for you!"

"You can't!" Rose replied. "You're with Taylor. We can't do this-" Rose didn't have a chance to finish her sentence when Chad pressed his lips against her in a fierce kiss...and she didn't stopped it.
