Outside of Rose and Chad's History class, Sean was around the corner. His eyes were closed and his fists were still balled up. He felt like he could punch the wall behind him, but he knew he could not cause a scene. He could not believe what he saw. Chad, the pretty boy jock, was kissing his girl. But no matter how angry he was, he was hopeful that Rose would forgive him once she sees the incredible flowers he brought her. Unknowingly, he was completely unaware that Rose gave her flowers to Sharpay, who had just walked out of the classroom in a different direction.
"She loves Red Roses," Sean thought to himself. "I'll have her back soon, then, I'll get rid of pretty boy..."
Earlier, Sean spotted Chad walking down the hall with Taylor having a conversation. He watched as they walked inside a room, before emerging with one thing missing...Taylor's book. She must have been so distracted from their conversation that she didn't noticed she left it. After they left the empty classroom, Sean with a hood on his head headed inside. Sure enough, Taylor left her book on an abandon desk. Sean picked up the book, opening the front.
"Science class" Sean read quietly to himself. "Guess that is her first class." A smirk appearing on his face. Closing the book, he walked out of the classroom, trying not to look suspicious...
And there he was with the book still in his hands. Pulling his hood over his head a little more, the blonde-haired boy made his way around the corner, and was on his way to pay Taylor a visit.
In History class, Taylor was sitting at her desk, trying her absolute best to stay calm. Come on, Gabi. Where are you? Taylor thought to herself. Chad's words of encouragement cooled her down, but she couldn't do nothing without her history partner...who was stuck in traffic.
"Great. Just Great." She replied to herself as she looked at her phone. Still nothing.n
Walking inside the classroom, Sean looked around at the students chatting. To him, they look like today's version of Mary Katherine Gallagher's and Steve Urkels. "Fucking nerds" He thought to himself. It only took him a moment to spot the person he was looking for.
"Taylor, Where's Gabriella?" Kelsi asked her.
"She's stuck in traffic." Taylor replied. She replied. "She trying to make it as fast as possible."
"Damn, That sucks!" Kelsi replied.
"Good morning, girls!" A girl with blonde hair and glasses replied as she sat beside Kelsi.
"Hey Michelle," Kelsi and Taylor replied.
" As if the day can get any delayed, I just heard that Ms. Thomas is running late," she replied.
"She is?" Taylor asks surprised.
"Yeah. she texted that there was a bad accident on Route 9. Right by Benson Road. You guys didn't get the message?"
"No," Kelsi replied, checking her phone. What about you, Taylor?"
"I don't see any message from Ms. Thomas. Just from Gabi." She replied.
"Well hopefully you can use this time to calm your nervousness." Kelsi replied.
"Nervous?" Taylor replied to them. "Who said I was nervous?" At her question, Kelsi and Michelle looked at each other with the expression that said, "Yeah right." Before they went back to their duties. Taylor went back to looking at her journal, taking deep breaths to compose herself. She was unaware that Sean was slowly walking closer and closer to her before sitting down quickly beside her. looking up from her book, Taylor blinked her eyes twice before turning to look at the boy. The only thing Taylor could make out was some strains of blonde hair was covered under his black hood. This creeped Taylor out.
"Um..." Taylor began, swallowing a lump in her throat. "Can I help you?"
Sean did not response right away. He just looked at her with no expression. Taylor swallowed another lump in her throat before speaking again.
"Um...I'm waiting for my partner and you're sitting in her seat."
Sean still did not reply. The only thing he did was put his hands on the table, interlocking his fingers.
"I'm sorry," he finally replies. "I will not be here long. I was wondering if you can help me."
Taylor was confused. Why would this boy, who she has never seen before, ask for her help? Being the nice person she is, she replied, "Um...Okay. How can I help you?" She asked him Are you new to this class?
Removing his hood off from his head, Sean replied, "Yes."
"Well great! I am Taylor," she replied reaching out her hand.
"Josh," Sean lied, shaking her hand in return. "Nice to meet you as well. Now back to what I was saying," Sean paused for a second before continuing. "I need to figure out how to get my girlfriend back."
Hearing his sentence, Taylor exhaled her breath. Today was an important day and she had to stay focus on her presentation. Not giving a strange boy, who she does not know, relationship advice.
"Josh, if I wasn't so stressed I would help. But I don't think that I am the type of person-"
" You seem like you would be the perfect one to help me. You're beautiful and smart-"
''I am blushing at your comments, but I have a boyfriend." Taylor stated, running her fingers through her hair.
"And he very lucky to have you. I apologize if I was being inappropriate. I just need some help."
Closing her book at her desk, Taylor replied. "Ok, So... your girlfriend, she's here at East High?"
"Yes. I transferred here," Sean replied. "I transferred from private school."
"Ok, that's cool. And your girlfriend, is she in this class?"
Sean shook his head. "No. she's not here. She's at her History class."
"History class," Taylor replied to herself, another question popped into her head. "Who is this girl he was talking about?"
"What does she look like?" Taylor asked him. She watched a smile appeared on is face.
"She has the amazing eyes...and her smile can light up a room. She likes to change her looks from time to time. Either way, she is beautiful."
Listening to his response, Taylor noticed that Kelsi had turned her looking at Taylor one minute, then at Sean.
"I love her so much. There's nothing I wouldn't so for her. When she left me, it broke me to pieces. It was her family that chose to move her away...from me. I got her Roses today, and I'm planning to surprise her at lunch today. After finding her out yesterday, our love is being threaten...by a jock. A Jock that can love her... like I love her."
"Jock?" Taylor thought to herself. "A jock from the East High Basketball team stole his girlfriend?" Clearing her throat, Taylor replied. "I'm sorry that this had happened between you and your girlfriend. Hopefully with the flowers, you will be able to win her back."
Sean nodded his head. "Yeah. I know this will work. It has to."
"Hey guys!" Gabriella replied as she rushed into the classroom. "Traffic was crazy...there was a four-car accident, But me and my Mom made it through."
"Hey Gabi, That's wild." Michelle replied with a smile. "Taylor was freaking out."
"Ha Ha! Very funny. I was actually talking to..." she looked over and was surprised to see that Sean had disappeared. "Hey, where did he go?" Taylor asked.
"Who?" Gabriella asked.
"Josh," Taylor replied.
"Who's Josh?" Michelle asked.
"A guy that I was talking to. He was sitting right here a second before you walked in." She looked at Kelsi. "Did you see him leave?"
"No," she replied shaking her head. "But I have to admit, he left pretty fast."
"Okay," Gabriella replied, sitting down and putting her books down on her desk." What did he look like?"
"Mild- pale skin, Bright green eyes...he had on a black hoodie, and I believed he was a blonde."
"He was cute," Kelsi replied with a smile. "But you can tell he was a little off. Plus, he said that Taylor was beautiful and smart."
"Kelsi!" Taylor exclaimed. "You were listening to our conversation."
"Well yeah," She admitted. "I don't have a pair of headphones like Michelle."
"Oh...so he's single, green-eyed, blonde Gabriella teased and making the moves on you? What would Chad think of that?"
"Shut up!" Taylor replied. "He didn't make any advances to me, I told him that I had a boyfriend. The only thing he was concerned about was he wanted advice about how to get his girlfriend back."
"So that means he's not officially single, Kelsi." Gabriella replied, causing Kelsi to make a pout.
"No. Don't think so. He said that he is in love with her, and he was trying to win her back from one of the jocks at our school."
"Oooohh...Sounds juicy than my Mother's Soap Opera's. Did he say who the girl was, or her name?"
"No, he didn't." Taylor replied truthfully. "He didn't tell me her name. When I asked him what she looked like, he wasn't specific."
"He brought her flowers," Kelsi added.
"You making pouts but you heard the story that he brought this girl flowers...and you're asking if he's single?" Michelle remarked.
"Hey! He was cute. I thought I had a chance to take his mind off his ex. A girl can try can she?" She asked them before they replied with laugher. Then the teacher walked in.
"Good morning class. I'm so sorry that I'm late. There was bad accident on Route 9. I'll texted some of you and you informed the rest."
"Yes, Ma'am." Michelle replied with a smile.
"Great! Give me 5 and we will begin our session," she replied before getting herself situated.
"Well, ladies. I think we better hold this discussion till afterwards, deal?"
"Deal." Gabriella, Michelle, and Kelsi replied, before sitting down in their seats, and preparing for their lesson.
Back in history class, Rose was starting to feel better. She listened to the teacher as she went on with her lesson about World War II. And there was something else…Chad's hand was in hers. Resting on her lap and slowing making circles. It was comforting to the point that she can come down from the nervousness. Ryan, who was sitting in front of the pair, unexpectedly dropped his pen on the floor. Unknowingly, he bend down, and saw that Rose's and Chad's hands were intertwined. Rose nor Chad did not notice, they were both into the teacher's lesson. Trying to act natural, Ryan quickly grabbed the pen, sitting up in his chair and act normal. "Wow! This is going to be interesting" He thought to himself. "Rose and Chad? Together? Holy shit!"
"And that class is the history of World War II." Ms. Schmidt replied. "It was nice to get though this lesson with any interruptions." Then the bell rang. "Okay class, that is the end of the lesson. For homework, read Chapter 5 through 7 for homework." The students were getting there. Belongings together along with Rose and Chad.
"Ms. Waters. Mr. Danforth, I would like a word from you before you leave."
After hearing her response, Rose looked at Chad who shared the same expression.
"Here we go," Rose replied before she got up from their seats and approach her. Ms. Schmidt sat down at her desk, looking back and forth between the two. It became a little nerve wreaking for Chad that he had to speak first.
"Look, Ms. Schmidt, I know that you are pissed at us…"
Rose eyes widened at Chad's choice of words. She looked at Ms. Schmidt, and she had a look on her face that read "Excuse me?" Chad caught on to this and he changed his sentence.
"I know that you are upset with us about yesterday about disturbing your class. But if there is anything that we can do to make it up to you, we will do it." Ms. Schmidt face expression changed, now nodding her head.
"Mr. Danforth, I accept your apology. But I want to make it clear that when I am giving a lesson, I would appreciate that you don't use bathroom breaks as a way to get out of my class."
Rose and Chad looked at each other before he replied, "Yes Ma'am. It won't happen again."
"Thank you Mr. Danforth." Ms. Schmidt look towards Rose. "Mr. Danforth, I would like to talk to Rose alone for a moment. For homework, read chapters 1 though 4. We are planning to do an essay in one week. I expect that you two your very best. You may go."
"Yes Ma'am." Chad replied nodding her head. He looked at Rose and replied, "See you later."
"Okay," Rose replied watching as he made his way to the door and closing it behind him.
"Ms. Waters…."
Hearing her name, Rose gave her undivided attention.
"Yes, Ms. Schmidt?" She watched that she shifted her position folding her hands and placing them on her desk.
"Are you okay?" She asked. Rose was taken aback by her question, but he tried to act natural.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why do you ask?"
"You seem a little distracted during today's lesson." She replied, with a little concern in her voice. With her reply, Rose looks down at her feet.
"Um…No. I was not distracted. I can assure you; I am fine."
Ms. Schmidt did not respond right away, she just looked at her. Rose was trying her best to act normal with her screaming out, "You are right! I am not okay! In fact, I am afraid for my life!" She watched her teacher eyes, watching as her Rose kept her hands together. Then she squinted her eyes. Rose followed her eyes, and she noticed that she was looking on the bruises on her wrists. Feeling panic creeping up on her, Rose had to come up with a idea to get out of the classroom.
"Ms. Schmidt, I am sorry to cut off our conversation, but I promise my friend Shana that I will help her with her homework at lunch. Can I be excused?"
"You may," Ms. Schmidt replied, nodding her head. "Just think about what I said."
"Yes Ma'am I will." Rose replied to her she turn to the door. Rose felt a sign of relief. Maybe this day will get better. When she stepped out, she noticed Chad was waiting for her.
"Chad," Rose replied with a happier tone.
"Well, is that a smile I see on your face?" He asked. He smiled that adorable smile, and Rose smiled even wider.
"Well, yes. But not by you,' Rose jokingly. Chad made a pout.
"I'm kidding! My smile was made by you. However, Ms. Schmidt made me more happier that we didn't get into any trouble."
"Yes," Chad replied. "I figured that she would forgive us since she has a soft spot for me," Chad replied. Rose let out a chuckle.
" I think she may have a soft spot for me too." She replied. Chad took her hands in his. Chad could feel her uneasiness and he pulled her into a hidden place.
"Sorry," Chad apologized. He did not want to make her uncomfortable, but he cannot help it.
"No. Do not be sorry. It's Just –"
"I know. I am just concern about you. I could not leave you. I just want to make sure you okay."
"I know," Rose replied looking into his eyes.
"I want you to promise me something. Promise me that you would not think about what happened yesterday and keep that beautiful smile on your face. Agree?"
"Agree," Rose replied. She watched as Chad's smile fade , seeing them as he had took his bottom lip between his lips. She knew what was going to happen, and she fell into his trance. Rose closed her eyes and felt his soft lips against hers. They broke apart after a few moments, pressing her foreheads together,
"I have to go," Chad replied breathlessly." I am Hella late for basketball practice. Troy is going to have my ass!" Rose chuckled.
"I have to go too. I have to find Shana. She's upset at me."
"Why?" Chad asked.
"I was mean to her this morning on the phone. She didn't know where I was, and she found out about Sean from Ryan."
"Shit!" Chad cursed. "Well, I hope that she will forgive you."
"I hope so too." Rose replied with a sign.
