Chapter Two

Aunt Casta

After Glimmer went to Perfuma for help, they began working on the design of her official super suit… They came up with nothing. 'I guess it just comes to you, in time.' Glimmer thought to herself.

Making a suit turned out to be a bust, for now. So, the next day, she went to check up on her friends at F.E.A.S.T. Without Razz, or Wrordak to take care of the place, Lonnie stepped up.

-

"I'm mean, it's about time I did something with my life, for a change. Helping these people is what Madam Razz used to do, so she would've wanted someone else to do it in her place."

"Are you sure it's just that? I mean, you've been talking to Tallstar a lot, lately."

"I am not!"

-

Glimmer smiled at thought or their last conversation. She hoped that Lonnie would just gather up the courage to ask her out, but then she'd have to watch out for her siblings.

Once she made it there, she noticed her sparkly reflection in the floor. That was new. The shiny-ness of the floor, that is. The sparkles showed up in her hair after she connected to the Moonstone.

"Still putting glitter in your hair, I see." Lonnie greeted.

"It's a long story, I wouldn't want to bore you with the details. What's with the floor? I've never seen it this clean before." Glimmer said.

"The new guy. He said something about keeping his job this time, but if he knocks the furniture like dominoes again, I'm firing him." Lonnie told her.

"Are you talking about Kyle? You mean he's working here? The last time I've seen him, he was working at a coffee shop." Glimmer thought back to the time he bumped into her. No doubt literally.

"He told me his last job was at the park. Why can't he keep a job? " Lonnie asked.

"Well, at the coffee shop, he managed to accidentally break the sign down." Glimmer told her.

"If he's as clumsy as you say, I just might have to get rid of him now, before he gets himself crushed. So, anything new happen with you, aside from the glitter?" Lonnie questioned.

"I've taken up some exercising, but it's a little hard to keep up. Anyways, I came here to see if you need any help." Glimmer beamed, and shimmered.

"Why don't you come back some other time? Looks like Kyle's about to mop through our floor. Hey Skinny! Why don't you take a break to tell me about your time in the park?" Lonnie suggested to him.

He stopped for a moment. "I don't want to talk about it." He went back to mopping.

"If he digs himself a hole, I'm not pulling him out." Lonnie frowned.

"I guess I'll see you next time!" Glimmer gave her a smile.

Could this be the Kyle that was with Rogelio? She'll ask next time.

-

Looks like F.E.A.S.T is a bust too. She considered going on the blind date, that she got an anonymous message from, but wasn't sure if she could trust this guy. Well, he's only two years older than her. He seems to be quite the romance enthusiast. And he is kinda… No. She doesn't have the time to find love! She is… A superhero for crying out loud! She really needs to figure out a name.

Maybe Entrapta and Scorpia need help?

-

"Sorry, but I'm not looking for a new assistant. And I was told not to assist you in any way, unless it was completely necessary." Entrapta told her.

"Really? You mean she trusts me that much?" Glimmer asked.

"You betcha! You must really be a natural at this if you're the hero that everybody is supposed to be counting on." Scorpia grinned.

"Actually, it took weeks until I discovered that I could teleport." Glimmer admitted.

Entrapta absolutely forgot personal space. "You can teleport? Could you show me!? How far is your teleportation range? Does it have any after effects!?"

"Uh… What?" Glimmer backed away from the intruding scientist.

"You'll have to be careful about what you say. We don't have much to do when we're in hiding, and she starts to get cranky when she doesn't learn new things." Scorpia apologized.

"I'm not cranky, I'm just… Upset that you didn't let me tear apart that motorized drone." Entrapta pouted.

"We're hiding." Scorpia reminded her.

"If you want, maybe I can get you a T.V, or something?" Glimmer suggested.

"Can you get something Sci-Fi? If it's anything else, she might scavenge it for parts." Scorpia requested.

"I'll see what I can do." Glimmer told her.

"Transformers! The idea is just so neat!" Entrapta squealed in delight.

"She likes it when they transform." Scorpia told Glimmer.

Glimmer wondered if she could build an actual Transformer. And if she could, she just hoped it wasn't a Decepticon.

"Roll out!!" Entrapta started running around in playfulness.

-

After that exciting meeting with ex-criminals, Glimmer headed back home. She thought about what Scorpia said. About her being everyone's hero. About being Brightmoon's hero.

Just like Dad-

"It's so good to see you!" She was being hugged, apparently.

She looked at who was holding her hostage, and recognized the woman in front of her. She had raven black hair, which was tied into a bun on the top of her head, and she wore mostly purple, which suited her well.

"Aunt Casta!? When did you come here?" Glimmer questioned her aunt.

"After I heard about what happened to Micah, I knew I had to see you. I'm so sorry about what happened." Castaspella mourned the loss of her brother.

"Thanks, Aunt Casta. It's so good to see you again." Glimmer gave her a welcoming hug.

"Why don't we go to your place, sweetie? I've missed seeing your Mother." Castaspella said, as she went to Glimmer's side.

"Are you sure, Aunt Casta?" Glimmer asked.

"I'm sure." Her Aunt assured.

-

"Angella, dear, it's nice to see you again." Castaspella had a hopeful smile.

"Yes. Nice." Angella deadpanned.

Glimmer frowned. Not this again. Her Mom doesn't like it whenever Casta's around. And they never tell her why! Just what happened between them? Her Aunt has always been friendly whenever she drops by, but Angella becomes the most sour of Moms whenever she does.

"I appreciate you coming over for a visit, and thank you for your condolences." Was she really thankful? I mean, they are practically sisters, so they should get along.

"Once I'd heard the news, I just couldn't believe he was gone. I'm sorry I wasn't there for the funeral." Castaspella apologized.

"You don't have to apologize, Aunt Casta. There was nothing we could've done." Glimmer told her.

"I suppose you're right. If you need to talk, just call me. " Castaspella gave Glimmer a hug, then left.

Glimmer turned to her Mom, and gave her a look.

"What was that!? You were being really cold to her, and she just wanted to say sorry!" Glimmer yelled.

"Glimmer, you don't understand. I know she's sorry, but it's just…" Angella stared back to where Castaspella was. She wanted to believe she changed.

"It's just what, Mom!?" Glimmer crossed her arms, and waited for an answer.

"…Nothing. I promise we'll talk next time. Why don't I cook dinner? We can discuss your little project." Angella gave her a smile.

"Right. Magic." Glimmer was starting to get nervous. She didn't want to tell her that she was learning offensive spells.

-

"She promised that she was going to give her a chance, but I'm still not sure she will. Why won't she ever tell what happened!?" Glimmer ranted.

"I don't know what to tell you Glimmer. I'm sure this is a family problem." Perfuma said.

"I don't want it to be like this every time. Mom always treats me like I can't handle it, like I'm not a grown up!" Glimmer continued.

"Maybe you need to tell her that?" Perfuma suggested.

Glimmer scoffed. "As if she'd listen. Anyways, have you come up with a name yet? I'm still having trouble with that."

"I did come up with a few. How do you feel about 'Moonglow?'" Perfuma asked.

"Mm, I don't know. Seems too night themed." Glimmer said.

"Then what about 'Pearl?'" Perfuma continued

Glimmer declined again. "Do you know how many people are actually named Pearl? I need something that really stands out. Something that speaks to the people."

"Maybe we could go with 'Angel'?" Perfuma was running out of names.

"Uh…"

"Is something wrong?" Perfuman asked.

"I don't know. My back just tingled." Glimmer admitted.

This concerned Perfuma. "Is that normal?"

"I'm not sure. I think it was magic, but it could have been anything." Now it was itchy.

"Maybe we'll figure it out tomorrow. I'll see you then. Goodbye." Perfuma said.

"Goodbye." Glimmer sighed.

Call ended.

Drat. She still hasn't come up with anything.

Maybe she'll figure it out after some training?

-

She can teleport at will, but it leaves a fuzzy feeling in her stomach, one that she better get used to if she's going to keep doing it. She also has to work on her accuracy, this takes some serious concentration!

A little rune practice never hurt as well. Maybe she should tell her Mom about her "Secret life"? But then she'd tell her that it's too dangerous! Argh! This was supposed to help her stop thinking about stuff like this!

She missed being able to talk about her problems with Dad. Every time he came back from work, he'd listen to her until she went to bed. And every time they'd call him, they would talk about the their favorite thing that happened that day.

He always seemed happy with Aunt Casta as well. Until a few years ago, when something happened between them. Her Mom won't say anything about it. Maybe she'll design her new suit based off of her favorite sweater that her Aunt knitted for her. She won't care if Mom finds out then.

'If only Dad were still here.' Glimmer thought She'd probably still get her Runestone, and she'd still have plenty of friends. People like The Beasts keep ruining good things. It's only fair that they end up in jail, right? There are people like Rogelio, who do the things they do for good reason. And there are bad people, who hurt others because they could.

It was her Dad's job to put them away. She'll be just like him, like her dreams. She'll do it for him. She will be "Bright"-

BOOM!*

Dang it! She was onto something that time!

Well, it's time for work.

-

Chapter is finished! It's a little short, but it'll do for a filler. If you're wondering what's up with Transformers, why don't you take a little blast to the past, and check it out the first film again? Dreamworks was one of the companies that produced it if you've forgotten. Also I wanted to do a scene where Entrapta was just adorable.

Anyways, you've read, and I'd like you to review. Please? Heads up, the next chapter is gonna continue the story.
