It was a couple of hours after Carol and Ella left the family, and the mess was cleaned up, did they sit down at the couch to discuss what happened last night.
" Right! You said you had wings now Love? " Lucifer said, looking at Chloe.
" Yes. " she stood and moved to stand in front of the two, rolling her shoulders again and out came her red wings.
" Oh wow! " Rory exclaimed with a smile as she got up to examine her mother's wings, her dad joining her, she took the right, he the left,
" This is amazing. " Lucifer said as he gently ran his hand over her left wing, it twitched under his touch, much like how his own wings had done when Chloe would touch them.
" But what does this mean? " Rory asked after a moment of examining her mother's right wing.
" I'm not really sure. It could be that she and Trixie became half angel somehow? " Lucifer replied still in awe of his Love's wings, they gleamed like blood in the light, eerie but beautiful at the same time.
" Would we be like Rory or like you? " Chloe asked.
" Most likely like Rory. " Lucifer replied again and watched as Chloe went to the desk at her home and picked up a pushpin, he knew what she was going to do before she even finished picking up the pin, in a flash he was there, stopping her from pricking her skin,
" Lucifer, it's just a stick. I'll be fine. " she soothed, slowly pulling her hand away from his grasp, he let her and watched as she pricked her hand, or tried to, the pin bent on impact. Wide-eyed, Chloe turned to the couch now, Lucifer and Rory watching with wonder as she reached down and lifted the couch up like it was nothing at one end.
She quickly let it go and stumbled back when she realized what she had done. Lucifer caught her,
" Easy. Easy. Honey, listen, this is not the same as it was with Amenadiel's necklace. Azrael's blade is not here. It's up in the Silver city. Take a breathe. That's it. Now, do you feel like you did when the blade was here? "
" No. I-I feel like I'm in complete control of it. It's...it's natural. Not a pulse like it was with the necklace. "
" Okay, so you have the strength and the invurnablity. That means that Trixie will have the same thing. So that could only mean that you two are immortal now. Though I believe that Trixie will continue to age to a certain age then stop aging entirely...hopefully. "
" Okay...now that that's been solved. " Chloe said with less panic in her voice now that she knows that she won't start acting like an addict again...which means she might self-actualize now and that is always unpredictable given what she knows of Lucifer, Amenadiel, Rory, and God...former God himself self-actualizing.
" Yes. I believe you said that you figured out what my calling is. " he replied, still keeping an eye on her.
" Yeah. Helping people. Like how you helped Jimmy and Lee. Like you were trying to help Dan to get to Heaven. "
" Like how Linda's been helping me?...That cheeky bastard! "
" Who? " Rory asked.
" Your grandfather. That Hell no longer needs a Ruler. It needs a Healer. The souls that are down there are mostly misplaced because of their guilt for the smallest of things is what's keeping them there. Now there are souls down there that rightfully belong there sure, but Lee, Jimmy, Dan, many others blaming themselves for something that they had no control over... "
" But it's why you disappeared in my time. "
" No. What I think happened was that he was killed saving Trixie. My future self didn't want you to know that. "
" But why? So I wouldn't blame T for my dad not being there for me? To not get to see me grow up and hear my first words or see my first steps or see me go to school for the first time? "
" Possibly. Or...maybe..." Lucifer paused for a moment, " Clever Detective. " he praised.
" What? " Rory asked just as she saw her mom's eyes light up as whatever thoughts her dad was thinking she also thought them.
" It's a long shot, but what if the other me thought if she lied to you that you would self-actualize to before your dad disappeared to warn us, "
" Given that you'd not kill me first. "
" It's me Lucifer. I'd have faith that she would'nt have killed you the moment she saw you. " Chloe teased bumping his side with a smile, one that he returned.
" But when you showed up, this time loop changed, altering itself to adjust to you being here. The Lucifer before this one was killed because LeMec had kidnapped Trixie to get back at him for what he did to him. Or maybe he had kidnapped both me and Trixie because we were close to Lucifer. The me before probably didn't realize she was pregnant until after he was killed... Lucifer, do you still have Maze's blade? "
" It was in his jacket. I took it out so T wouldn't cut herself on it. "
" Okay. So I think what happened is that LeMec somehow got ahold of the blade and killed Lucifer with it because it's one of the few weapons that I know of so far that can kill or injury him. "
" So he died saving my sister and possibly you again. Why wouldn't my mom just tell me that? "
" Because she didn't want you growing up without a father like I am doing now. Or be like her when grandpa was killed too. " Trixie came into the room.
" Oh Trixie. " Chloe reached out to her and she ran to her mother's arms and hugged her tight.
" And even though you ain't my daddy Lucifer, I still think of you as one. I have since you scared that girl that was bullying me and you saved mom when she got shot that one time. "
" You were shot? " Rory asked.
" And poisoned. And nearly blown up by your crazy, jealous, spiteful grandmother. Stabbed twice. Once not that long ago and last night. Nearly taken out by two shotguns and your even crazier uncles. "
" Boy is the angel side of my family crazy. "
" Well the posioning was done by a human serial killer. You forgot about when Klumpsky tried to take you out with that butcher knife. "
" Only got a cut. "
" Couldv'e been worse. "
" But it wasn't. Thanks to you having that gun. "
" Dad actually had a gun? "
" Yes. And just because I'm more hand to hand doesn't mean I don't know how to use a gun or a knife or a sword or a spear or nun chucks. "
" Well mom taught me how to shoot and drive the Corvette and some moves from her time in the LAPD. Auntie Maze and Auntie Eve taught me more self-defense and offense, weapons included. Though a lot good that did me when I got knocked out by that tazer and rhino darts. "
" Guess you'll just have to have Maze and Eve train you some more when you get back. "
" Yeah...But I'm kinda afraid to leave. In my time, mom's on her deathbed. "
" But your half angel. Surely you can visit her when she p-passes? "
" Yeah I can. Just like how I can visit Linda and Ella. It's just gonna be hard to see her go. " Rory's eyes watered. "
" I know it'll be hard baby. But you get to see her again. Not too many people can say that and still be alive to see their loved ones again. "
" Yeah and knowing you, you'll want to be with dad. You love him and he loves you. I can see it now. Before I was just so angry at why you stood up for him or made some excuse of why he wasn't there but that he still loved me, loved us. T included. " Rory was wiping her eyes as a blue swirling light began to surround her, she looked to it then back to her parents and sister, their eyes were wide,
" What's happening? " Trixie asked, getting scared.
" I-I think I'm going back! " Rory exclaimed, she sounded scared, Lucifer and Chloe reached for her, she grasped their hands, looking at them, she calmed down and smiled,
" Guess my job's done here. See you guys soon. I love you both, so much. " she said as she began to vanish,
" And we love you Sweetheart. So much more. And are very proud of you. " Lucifer said with a watery smile grasping her hand just a bit tighter.
" You'll be just fine baby girl. " Chloe said with the same watery smile and grasping her hand tighter.
" Of course I will be. I'm your guys' daughter. " she said with a cheeky grin that was just like her dad's as she finally vanished in a whisp of blue smoke and sparks.
" I don't think the future's ready for that girl. " Trixie said after a long moment of silence.
" The future's had over 40 years to be ready for her and she's only just getting started. " Lucifer replied hugging her and wiping his eyes.
Rory's time
Chloe, age 77, was laying on her deathbed, waiting. Waiting for her youngest daughter to return, hopefully with good news and to finally tell her what happened to her father that aweful day. She had waited patiently for this day to come. Not just for the truth, but to finally be reunited with the man that she loves, would always love now and forever. She had wondered how long it would've taken for her body and heart to give up so that her soul could be with it's mate for all eternity.
A flash of light brought her out of her thoughts and there sat her daughter. She wasn't angry anymore, she looked happy. So maybe her little plan had worked.
" What happened to dad that day? " was the first thing out of her mouth and Chloe told her.
She spoke of how LeMec had kidnapped both her and Trixie. How he spoke madly about getting revenge on Lucifer for frightening him to that madness. How Lucifer came like he had always done if she or Trixie or any of their friends were ever in danger. How LeMec had emptied his gun at his chest and in a fit desperation attacked him and during the scuffle, LeMec had gotten ahold of Maze's blade that she had given Lucifer to remember her by as she and Eve left L.A. to be on their own. How she had struggled against her ropes to get free and help him, how by the time that she had gotten free that it was too late.
" But how? Dad's the strongest being around. "
" Trixie had called for LeMec to stop, her cry had distracted Lucifer just enough for him get the upper hand and stab him in the heart. Needless to say I was pissed and emptied the clip of the gun on the table near us into him. It was the day after we buried him that I found out I was pregnant with you. "
" And you came up with a plan in hopes that I'd self-actualize and go back to fix everything so that at least one version of me would know her father and not suffer like you and T had?. "
" Shitty and selfish. But yes, I couldn't stand to see another of my kids growing up without their father. I know what that pain is like and I hated that you and Trixie both had to feel that pain as well. Trixie got to see and hear her dad before he was killed like it was with me. But it was worse to know that you'd never got that. I just hope that Lucifer will forgive me for the lies I had to do in order for this to happen. I also hope that you forgive me baby. "
" I do mom. And I have a feeling that Dad already did a long time ago. Just like I have a feeling that he knows who I am and probably can't wait to meet me because of the stories I'm sure Uncle A's told him. " Rory said, her eyes watery as she held her mother's hand a final time, or at least for the moment as she smiled that warm, kind smile she always gave her before closing her eyes and gave a final breath and her soul crossed the threshold into the afterlife to be with Lucifer,
Who greeted her with open arms and loving smile he always had for her as she walked out of the elevator of his penthouse and into his living-room. She was back to her 36 year old self again, wearing a red flowy shirt with black jeans and her sensible black boots. She hugged him back before leaning up in invitation, he met her halfway and kissed her for what felt like forever.
" I have missed you. " he said as finally pulled away, caressing her cheek lovingly.
" Not as much as I've missed you I'm sure. " she caressed his cheek in the same manner, smiling up at him.
" Call it a draw then? " he teased with a cheeky grin.
" Yeah. I think we can do that. " she kissed him again, he returned it as he picked her up and carried her into their bedroom as the elevator doors closed again.
Back to the new present
" I'm going to miss her. " Trixie said after what felt like a long time of silence and tears between the three.
" You'll see her again in about 8 months. " Chloe said, wiping her eyes.
" We all will. " Lucifer added, also wiping his eyes.
" What are we gonna tell Carol when you guys give the baby the same name as your 'oldest'? " Trixie asked looking up at Lucifer as she said this.
" We'll deal with that when the time comes. Until then, we have other things that will be needing to be tended to. "
" Like? "
" Well most of what I got adult Rory was put in storage. Most of it was for the missed birthdays and Christmases that the other me didn't get to be apart of. Along with the jewelry that we bought on our outing. The Christmas tree was put there as well, we can bring it out for when Christmas actually comes around. And there's also her Halloween costumes... "
As he rattled off all that he had done with their adult daughter, all but buy her a crib, which he said that he'd find the best and safest to put baby Rory in, Chloe was reminded once again of how much he had changed, though she guessed with how he was with Trixie and then later Charlie; a man who had once claimed to despise kids mind you, was actually a total natural with them.
And from how he was telling of what he and adult Rory did, she wished she had been there herself instead of getting the paperwork done to get reinstated back in the LAPD. He had both her and Trixie in fits of laughter as he told of him and Rory in sumo costumes in the park, she rolled her eyes when he told about them dropping water balloons at the people on the sidewalk going by LUX, she actually wanted to scold him for that because it could be dangerous to the people below the building, but he was just so happy about the time he spent with Rory, she let it slide.
Afterwards, they told Trixie about what it meant for to have wings now and she needed to careful with how she handled things, but Lucifer assured them both that it would come naturally to them on when to use their full strength and when to not use it. Much like how it was for him and Amenadiel to use only just enough force when picking up a human item or if they needed to pick up a human.
He proved this by placing two mugs down in front of them on the coffee table and told them to go ahead and pick them up for themselves. They did and the mugs didn't break under their touch, Lucifer then said to flex their hands just a tiny bit, they did and mugs cracked but didn't shatter.
" See? That easy! " he praised them with glee.
After this, everything seemed to happen in what felt like flashes,
Chloe and Lucifer returned to the LAPD, where they, along with Amenadiel and his former TO helped to clean up the LAPD.
Amenadiel's former TO was promoted to Detective because within those seven months that Chloe started the clean up along with Lucifer and Amenadiel, she was promoted to Lt.
Also during those seven months, Lucifer was with her when she went to her appointments, held her hair back as she went through the morning sicknesses, got her what she had a craving for even if it was in the middle of the night or in the early morning hours when she wasn't throwing her guts up. And taking her mood swings in stride. Except for when she was in the mood for sex than he was extremely happy, especially since he knows that they won't be hurting the baby during it like he been thinking before the whole LeMec shit happened that is.
Some days he'd stay home with Trixie and they'd plan on where to put the baby stuff in the nursary, the three had already decided the colors for the room and with Ella, Carol, Linda, Maze, Eve, and Amenadiel's help, they got it done, despite a paint war that somehow broke out and half the room was finished, while the other half and the people involved were covered in the other half of the paint before it finally got finished.
Lucifer had ordered a crib that could covert into a bed as Rory grew until she out grew that. He also had a bassinet ordered, along with a baby bathtub, swing, carrier, diapers, bottles, pacifiers, onsies; several of which he had customized to say things like 'Princess', 'Mummy's little angel', 'Daddy's little She-Devil', 'Mummy and Daddy's princess', 'I'm my aunties favorite', 'Princess #2', 'My big sis is the best!', and the last one had Chloe rolling her eyes but also smiling, 'Hell's little Princess'.
He also ordered some shirts that were kinda cheesy but cute none the less, one shirt said 'His Queen', the other said 'Her King', he one got for Trixie that said 'Princess #1' because of the onsie he had gotten Rory.
Of course when Dan saw this he laughed and like everyone else was reminded of much the Devil had changed from when they first met him.
Lucifer and Amenadiel both were working with Dan to help get him to Heaven still. Since they couldn't get him back to Hell to go through his Hell loop in order to get to the root of what was keepin him earth bound now, Lucifer had to hone his inner therapist to talk with him about his problems in life. Not all of it, just the things that had really been bothering him.
And despite Dan being a ghost now and the two couldn't hurt him like they could have if he was still in Hell, he still backed away as Amenadiel, on reflex, had to stop Lucifer coming after him when he told them about the Palmetto thing. Dan had only ever seen Lucifer like that pissed off if someone was going after Chloe or Trixie or adult Rory. The next time something major came up was when he told them about Tiernan's men coming to the penthouse was his doing, Lucifer just picked up the nearest thing to him and threw it a Dan with all his might, which happened to be a bottle of very expensive whiskey and the bottle of course went through him and shattered into tiny pieces on the wall behind him, Lucifer's eyes were blazing red and he damn near went full Devil again as he yelled at Dan in his devil voice of how much of an asshole he was for putting his only child in danger like. If he had wanted to hurt Lucifer so badly he should've just came after him himself instead of bringing an innocent child and woman who didn't deserve to be put through that kind of terror.
Lucifer and Dan didn't talk for long time after that, Dan mostly giving Lucifer time to calm down and Lucifer to give Dan the space to think of his actions and to also tell Chloe about what he had just told him as it concerned their child in the first place as well to apologize to not only Chloe, but Trixie and Eve as well. They deserved to know who was really behind those horrible men being there and threatening them.
When the eighth month came, everyone was really excited. Carol and Ella were still going strong and Lucifer and Chloe called a meeting one night with the gang to discuss what they should do about Carol as it seemed that he was in it for the long haul.
" Well if worse comes to worse, at least he can't kill you. " Maze had said.
" But he could kill me. " Ella said nervously biting her lip and wringing her hands.
" No he won't. I won't let him. " Lucifer vowed.
" Same here. " Maze and Eve added.
" I could just erase his memory of what we showed and told him. " Amenadiel added.
" And what about Rory? He's gonna wanna know why we named her Rory. We already told him that adult Rory went home. " Chloe added, wincing as baby Rory kicked her, Lucifer looked to her with concern.
" I'm fine. Your daughter is just getting restless. " she joked.
" Just like her father. " Maze added with a smirk, which earned a mock glare from Lucifer, before he reached out and placed a hand to Chloe's rounded belly, he smiled lovingly as he felt his baby girl continue to kick and move about until he leaned down whispered,
" Calm down little one, your hurting your mum when you kick that hard. " he rubbed Chloe's belly in a soothing manner as Rory settled down again.
" She's definitely a daddy's girl. " Chloe huffed as she also rubbed her belly lovingly with a matching smile.
" Why don't we just call Carol to come here tonight? I mean it's only a matter time before Chloe's water breaks and she goes into labor. Speaking from experience of course. " Eve added.
" Would that give him enough time to get a grasp on what's going on? I mean so far he's been taking everything weird that's happened around us in stride. And yeah he's still technically the new guy here. And there's no telling how he will react either. I mean you guys saw how I handled finding out. " Ella said.
" Much better than we thought you would. Better than some have taken to the news. " Linda said, " But let's also take into account that we also haven't told my daugther Adriana either. I'm still earning her trust and love even after I've talked to her about why I left her in the hospital when I was younger. " she continued.
" It's gonna take longer with her, but Carol has to be either now or soon because he's met adult Rory and is about to meet her baby self. "
They were quiet before they turned to Amenadiel, " What say you Amena-God? Will this turn out for the better or for the worst? " Lucifer asked.
Amenadiel closed his eyes for a moment...then smiled, " I believe it will be for the better. Though it will take him time to come to grips with what tell him. He won't abandon Ella or us. "
" Well that settles that. Miss Lopez? Would you like to tell Carol now or... "
" I-I think I'll tell him now. If you guys are alright with it. "
" I'm alright with it. And this is the best place to tell. After all, plenty of space for the us to spread our wings and not knock anything over. " Chloe replied.
Everyone was in agreement, the penthouse was the best place. So Ella pulled her phone out and called Carol to come to LUX and told him how to get up to the penthouse after she assured him that she was fine and that she and her friends had just agreed to finally let him in on the big secret that they had. He said that he be there shortly. He sounded exicted to finally be let in on what the group was hiding from him.
She just hoped that nothing bad happened when they told him or something that might cause Chloe to go into labor, though it really shouldn't be too much of a problem if it did, it was only half a month to her due date and being a full on angel now meant that the baby would be just fine, but than again, there's never been an actual angel baby before according to Lucifer and Amenadiel.
It felt like it was taking Carol forever yet it didn't really take him that long to get there. When he did arrive at the penthouse, like many before him who had stepped into the Devil's home stopped for a second to take in what he was seeing before his eyes landed on his girlfriend and her very good friends that had begun to feel like his own good friends.
He realized just how serious and real this was as all of her friends was there, even Trixie and baby Charlie, well he didn't see them, he could hear them playing out of sight.
" Is this also the part where you guys threaten me to not hurt Ella after you tell me the big secret? " he tried to joke with them, but they weren't smiling. He became nervous as he took a seat next to Ella, who grasped his hand.
" Okay, first off. I want you to know that what you are about see and hear, does not change who my friends are. They are the same people that you've come to know over these past few months. And know that Lucifer will not harm you, neither will Maze, unless you give them a reason to. " Ella spoke slow so that Carol would process what she was saying and understand.
" Okay. " Carol replied after he did.
" Second, when we told you that Rory went back home was only a partial lie. She did go back home. But it was to her own time. "
Carol became confused by this, so Ella continued, " Rory was the adult version of the baby that is inside Chloe's belly now. She time traveled to this time to at first to kill her father, but that was because the Chloe from her time told her a lie in hopes that she could travel back and stop Lucifer from dying so that she could grow up knowing her father. "
" I'm hearing you. But I'm still not understanding what it is that your trying to tell me. " Carol said still confused.
" Okay. You know how Lucifer's telling everyone that he's the Devil? "
" Yeah. "
" Well, he's telling the truth. He is the Devil. But he's not like how the rest of humanity has made him out to be. But he is also an angel. Maze is a real demon. And his older brother is the new God of our universe. Their dad retired to another one to be with their mother. " Ella continued on.
Carol was still confused by all of this, so Lucifer sighed and stood, " Perhaps we should show him Miss Lopez before explaining any further? "
" Yeah I think that will be better. Okay, don't freak out. " Ella replied and cautioned Carol, as Chloe and Amenadiel join Lucifer and as one, they unfurl their wings in a big gust of wind.
Carol not only jumped back, he practically polvolted backwards off the couch in his fright of what he was seeing,
" Holy shit! " he exclaimed.
" Well at least he didn't start shooting. " Maze commented.
" Or run. " Eve added.
" He might be in shock. " Linda commented.
" Are you sure this was a good idea brother? He looks like a stag caught in headlights. " Lucifer whispered.
Ella all the while was looking at Carol as though she might have just lost one of the few good things that she has in her life. It wasn't that long ago that she told him the whole story about Pete...
" AAHHH! " Chloe suddenly called out, grasping her belly.
" I told you! " Eve exclaimed.
" What's happening?! " Lucifer asked.
" Labor! " Chloe exclaimed as her water broke.
" She sure does have timing! "
" Let's go! I'll meet you at the hospital, someone go get Trixie and Charlie! " Lucifer picked Chloe up after she managed to refurl her wings and went to the balcony, Carol broke out if his stupor as he did and was about to say something before he saw Lucifer fly away, his white wings the only thing he could see in the dark sky.
" Let's go people! We gotta baby on the way! Trix! Time to go! Your sister's on her way out of your mom's stomach! "
" Coming! I gotta het the go bag! " Trixie called back, struggling with a large duffel. As Charlie toddled out to his parents, sensing what was happening just as his own wings spring out, they were minature versions of his father's. The group stopped for a second as they took in the tiny wings as Amenadiel threw his fists in the air in joy, smiling like crazy.
" We just took the bubble wrap down. " Linda commented absently.
" You can put it up again after Rory's born. Let's go! " Maze said breaking everyone out of their amazement of the wings and to the fact that another baby angel was on her way to the world.
Several long and painful hours, filled with screams and shouting later...
The group, Carol included surprisingly, were allowed back to see Chloe, Lucifer, and baby Rory in their room.
Entering the room, they saw Chloe, looking tired, but happy and smiling down at her new baby girl as she nursed her, Lucifer standing beside her on the right leaning over, watching his daughter, one hand resting on the top of one of Chloe's hands as she nursed from her mother, a contented look on her tiny face. He too was smiling down at her, tears in his eyes as he stared at her in awe and love that all first time fathers do.
Baby Rory, like her future self, had his black hair and once the blue faded from her eyes, they would also be like his own dark brown ones. She had her mother's ears, nose, mouth, she'll later have her height, she had his face that was more feminine, his widows peak. She was mostly her mother, but there were parts of him there too. He had no doubt that she'd give them hell when she got to her teen years. Most likely have his temper but her mother's long fuse, unless it involved her loved ones then she'll have his short fuse.
The group turned away when Chloe said that Rory was done eating. They turned back when they heard Rory gurgle, the sound alerting that she was decent again.
Ella of course was taking pictures as Rory was passed around the group, Lucifer took a bit longer to hand her off to the next person, but damn if he wasn't adorable holding her and looking down at her with so much love and pride it had most of the group in happy tears. And it was so cute how he would watch her with every person that held her.
Dan was there as well, he was grinning from ear to ear; not only from the happy moment, but the thought of how Lucifer was going to go through what all the good dads go through when it comes to their baby girl. Boys or girls giving his daughter attention, the hormones, the teen years, oh this was gonna be fun to watch unless they find a way for him to finally get to Heaven... oh wait, they visit him there, so it's still gonna be fun.
Chloe was watching as well, smiling as she watched her friends who were more like family hold and coo over her baby girl, her smile widened a bit more as she saw Trixie give her baby sister a kiss to her head before handing her over to Ella, who was just having a hay day with the Deckerstar baby in her arms, Rory looking at her like she had just lost her mind, though she wasn't sure if that was really what was happening or if it was just because of the new noise and person that was holding her, Trixie took over with the pictures, taking a few of Ella holding Rory.
Ella looked to Carol and silently asked him if he wanted to hold her. He hesitated for just a moment, then reached out for her. She gently placed her in his arms and watched as he relaxed with her and held her as he cooed gently at her himself.
When Rory started to fuss, Lucifer came over to his baby's distress immediately, Carol gave her over to him. Lucifer realized what was wrong when a smell hit him. When he informed them of this, they all very quickly left with Chloe laughing at them for being chickens. And them saying they'll come by tomorrow. Chloe, despite being an artificial angel still needed rest.
She watched tiredly with a smile as Lucifer changed her, " You've been studying I see. " she commented as he cleaned Rory up with the wipes before putting the baby power on and putting on a clean diaper and redressing her in her blanket.
" Of course. I want to be the best dad she knows. " he replied back with a grin as he held her to him, he was reminded of when he first held Charlie, but it was only for a few seconds before giving him back to his brother and this was a different feeling than what he was feeling while holding Charlie the first time.
His daughter, oh brother does that still sound strange, looked even smaller than Charlie did and that made him want to protect her even more. He looked up to Chloe and found her sound asleep. He smiled gently at her as he slowly made his way to her, Rory was also sound asleep in his arms, and covered her up with the cover better, he then moved his seat closer to her bed and sat down, settling in for the rest of the night, watching over the woman that he loves and one of their daughters, knowing that their other daughter was in good hands tonight with her aunts and uncle with a happy and contented smile on his face that no one, not even his father could wipe off no matter how hard they tried. This was his desire and he was going to enjoy every second of it.
