Chapter 9 Training PT 1
Tank Garage…
Miho then ran over to the tank to examine it, putting a hand on it, "the tracks and armor are just fine. We might be able to work with this," said Miho.
With a whistle, "hmm, yep it'll take about a day, but will get this horse riding again," said Jimmy.
"Anzu!" exclaimed Ryan, "with the number of people here, we would need at least six tanks."
"Relax Ryan, there around," said Anzu biting a sweet potatoe stick.
"What do you mean around?" asked Ryan.
"Our school got rid of Sensha-Do several years ago, but the tanks should be around," explained Momo. "Our instructor will be here tomorrow, we should find them by then."
"So where are they?" asked a Freshmen.
"We don't know," said Anzu.
"Really," said Ryan.
"Start the search," said Momo.
All the girls began to leave the Garage to search for the tanks.
"Well guess we better start looking," said Emma.
"Let's go!" said Saori excited. Ryan, Emma, Miho, and Hana followed. Jimmy went along with the volleyball club.
Later the group found themselves in the parking lot. "Where are they?!" yelled Saori.
"I don't think there are tanks in the parking lot," said Hana.
"Why'd we even look here?" asked Emma.
"They're sort of like a car," said Saori.
"Then let's check the forest," said Ryan.
The group began to move towards the forest, Miho noticed a girl shadowing them. She turned around, "Um…"
"Hai..?"
"Would you like to come look with us?" asked Miho.
"Are you sure? I'm in Standard Class II second year, class III. My name is Akiyama Yukari," she introduced herself. "I'm not experienced, but it'll be nice to work with you."
Everyone else introduced themselves, afterwards they went into the forest. As they went through the trees of green. Hana stopped to sniff the air. "I can smell something over there?" said Hana.
"You can smell something?" asked Yukari.
"What do you smell?" asked Ryan.
"A slight scent of iron and oil mixed in with the smell of flowers," said Hana.
"Then we'll follow you," said Emma.
"In that case, Panzer vor!" said Yukari.
"Panties did what now?" said Saori.
"What's this about underwear?" asked Emma.
"Hello, there's a guy here," said Ryan with a slight blush.
"Panzer vor, it means all tanks forward," said Miho.
After the group followd Hana, they eventually came across a tank, "We did it! We found one!" said Saori.
"Let's see if I remember that's a 38t," said Ryan.
"It's smaller than the last one," said Saori. "It's got screws all over the place."
Yukari went up to it and began to snuggle with it like a pet, "The 38t. A mainstay of Field Marshal Rommel's 7th Panzer Division. It was an important tank in the initial stages of the blitzkrieg. It's nimble and can cross long distances quickly. Oh and the t is for Czechslovakia. It's not a unit of weight," said Yukari.
"You kind of went crazy there," said Saori.
"You must love your tanks," said Emma.
Meanwhile Jimmy was helping the volleyball club get a Type-89 from a cliffside.
They all meet back at the garage to find five tanks. A Type 89 I-Go, Panzer 38T, M3 Lee, Assault III, Panzer IV.
"So how should we assign them?" asked Momo.
"How about we just have them ride the one's they found," suggested Anzu.
"We didn't find our tank today," said Emma with a sad pout.
With a small laugh, Miho gave Emma a small pat on the back, "don't worry Emma, we'll find one," she said reassuring her.
"Until then, these tanks needs some serious cleaning," said Ryan.
"That's right," said Jimmy bringing a bunch of buckets, towels, large brushes.
All the girls and guys got to work one their tanks, with Ryan and Emma helping Miho's team.
Jimmy was going back and forth for more cleaning supplies.
Saori accidentally sprayed some cold water on Hana.
"Careful Saori, the water is cold," said Hana.
Ryan and Miho went inside to clean the interior. After a bit they got out and were finished. Ryan looked around to see Emma was gone, "Where's Emma?"
"I think she went to the bathroom," said Saori.
Emma was inside the tank garage with a hose filling up water balloons, with a smirk the time had come to get back at Ryan for the ice cubes.
She then came out with two balloons in each hand. She then saw her target, then reeled back and threw it.
"Whoa!" said Ryan as he ducked. The water balloon went over head and instead, SPLASH!
Hits Miho.
"Miho!" said Saori.
"Miporin!" said Yukari.
Emma began to freak out, "Miho! I'm so sorry."
Miho then marched seemingly angry.
"Look what you did Emma," said Ryan.
Emma looked down in shame. But then…
SPLASH!
Emma was suddenly struck by a balloon. By then the entire team was watching they looked over to see that it was Miho who had thrown it, not only that had another one on her hand. She had a small smile on her face.
Then the balloon was taken out of her hand, "let me have it," said Jimmy then he threw it Ryan.
Splash!
"Hey!" said Ryan soaked. He went into the garage to grab two more balloons. He then tried to throw them both at Jimmy, but instead, SPLASH! Hit two members of the history club, Caesar and Rommel.
"HEY!" both exclaimed. They both went into grab some water balloons and attempted to get revenge but hit two members of the volleyball club. Soon the small prank escalated into a full blown water balloon fest.
Even the student council was forced to partake. Then things started to slow down as the girls realized they were soaked and that their bras could be seen through.
Ryan turned red and turned around to avoid the sight. Jimmy on the other hand, "whooo weee, it's my lucky day."
"PERV!" said Shinobu.
"ECCHI!" said Saori.
With the remaining water balloons, all the girls aimed at Jimmy, seeing this coming, "Ah shit."
SPLASH! SPLASH!
Jimmy got soaked to the bone. Despite the water balloon fight, they still managed to finish the tanks.
"Alright that's enough everyone," said Anzu, "tomorrow our instructor will be here."
"So everyone be on your best behavior," warned Momo.
"The instructor is cool," said Anzu.
"Cool?" said Saori hoping it was a guy.
Miho's Dorm…
Later, Miho, Emma, Ryan, Saori, Hana, Yukari, and Jimmy gathered at Miho's place to have a meal together. Despite it being a bit crowded with so many people, everyone try to settle in best they could.
"Aw, how cute," said Saori looking at the bears.
"This room suits the both of you," said Hana.
"Well, let's get the grub started," said Jimmy.
"Right, Hana can you peel the potatoes for me?" asked Saori.
"Oh sure," said Hana.
"Let me help you," said Ryan.
"Jimmy, will you cut the fish?" asked Saori, though still a bit mad at him for earlier.
"Sure," said Jimmy.
"I'll cook the rice," said Yukari.
Then she started pulling things out of her backpack, most of it camping gear.
"Why are you using camping gear? Do you always walk around like that?" asked Saori.
"Yeah, that way I can camp anywhere anytime," said Yukari.
"Wow, you come prepared," said Emma.
"You think so," said Yukari happily.
Then they heard a small squeal. "Whoa Hana," said Ryan.
"Sorry, I've only cut flowers," said Hana cutting her finger a little.
"Miho get some bandage," said Ryan as he took Hana hand and put the cut finger in his mouth. This caused Hana to blush slightly.
"Right, have to remember where I put them," said Miho.
"I'll help you Miho," said Emma.
After patching Hana up and then finished cooking. The four girls sat at the table. Ryan at Miho's desk, Emma at her desk. Jimmy just sat near the girls on the floor holding a plate.
Miho took a bite, "delicious."
"Good food," said Emma.
"Nikujaga is the best for seducing a man," said Saori.
"Have you ever seduced a man before?" asked Hana.
"Well she has seduced me," said Jimmy, "must say, your make a fine wife to someone someday."
This made Saori blush heavily, she began to stutter not knowing what to say.
"Jimmy," said Ryan.
"What I'm paying her an honest complement," said Jimmy.
"Your always a flirt," said Emma.
"Cut me a break Em," said Jimmy.
Miho decided to change the subject, "Those flowers are beautiful."
"I wish I could have done better," said Hana.
"No I think they look good," said Ryan.
"They really warm up the place," said Miho.
After dinner was over, they were on the sidewalks outside waving goodbye to Saori, Hana, Yukari, and Jimmy, As they left Ryan was heading to his room. "Goodbye, Goodnight," they all said to one another.
"Ryan?" called Miho.
"Yes?" said Ryan.
"We still have a few boxes to unpack, could you help?" asked Miho.
"Sure no problem," said Ryan.
Ryan went back into Miho's Room helping the two girls with their last boxes. He then opened the file box and began putting the files in Miho's desk. Then he dropped one of the folders by accident, some papers falling out. He quickly gathered them and out them in the folder, but one piece caught his attention. It was what it looked like a DNA test with Miho and his father name on it. Taking another look, the test was positive. A lot of questions were going through his mind. He looked around and still saw Miho and Emma were busy in the kitchen. He put the paper back into he folder and then the file cabinet.
"Miho," he called.
"Hai?" said Miho.
"All the boxes are done, going to catch some z's," said Ryan leaving, "goodnight."
"Goodnight," said Miho.
"Night brother," said Emma.
"Don't let the bedbugs bite Emma," snickered Ryan.
"There are bugs in my bed," said Emma freaked out a bit.
"No Emma, Ryan is just teasing you as always," said Miho as they heard the door shut.
Ryan's Dorm…
Ryan had a lot of questions. Over the summer he wondered why father would let Miho stay, he was a nice guy, but what he wondered was why go so far for Miho? Yet in a way they both had similar personalities, it pondered him. Yet despite everything Miho became like family to them. Yet now with the paper he saw, she was family, but why did Miho not tell them, father must have known, why didn't he tell him and Emma.
He went to his desk to start his laptop, then he was that father was not online. It was getting a bit late and he had school. For now he would ask Dad later, he took a shower, studied a bit, then went to bed, he had to get up early with Jimmy tomorrow. He and him were responsible for cleaning the classroom tomorrow.
Ooarai…
Emma and Miho were one their way to school walking on the sidewalk when they saw a girl with black hair slouched, walking funny, and did look like she was functioning well. Miho ran up to her with Emma, "are you ok?"
"Are you sick?" asked Emma.
"It's painful," she answered.
A question mark popping up in Miho and Emma's head.
"Life is painful," she said. "If this were a dream everything would be fine," she said.
"Hey," said Miho as the girl fell on her knees. "Pull yourself together," said Miho pulling her up.
"But I will go," she said trying to walk again, I must go."
Miho then decided to put the girl on her back. Emma in turn carried Miho's school bag.
Ooarai Girls Academy…
The hall monitor was standing at the front "Rezei, this is the 245th day in a row that you've been late," she said.
Reizei was leaning on Miho, "why does morning come?"
"Morning always comes," said Sodoko, "just because you get good grades, it doesn't mean you can just show up late all the time. Don't blame me if you get held back."
Rezei made a small yawn. "Are you ok?" asked Miho.
"Um Nishizumi, Asuka, if you see Rezei on the way to school, leave her behind for now on," said Sodoko.
"U-Understood," said Miho.
"I don't know if that'd sit well with me," said Emma.
"Sodoko…" said Rezei.
"Did you say something?" asked Sodoko.
"Not really," she said.
The three girls wnet through for school. "I'm sorry you two," said Rezei.
"Not at all," said Miho.
"No problem," said Emma.
"I'll pay you both bac someday," said Reizei.
Tank Garage…
"We're were worried, why were you both late?" asked Ryan.
"Well brother there was this…" began Emma. Then they were interrupted by a sound of a huge plane.
It was a military transport, I began to get lower, the ramp opening in the back. A Type 10 Main Battle tank came out with parachutes coming out the back and the tank landed in the parking lot, though it flipped over the headmaster's Ferrari F40.
"Isn't that the headmaster's car?" said Yuzu.
"Now they've done it," said Anzu.
Then the Type 10 revered and ran over the Ferrari. "Ah man, I was going to convince the headmaster if I could take that baby for a spin," said Jimmy.
"How on Earth are you going to convince him to do that?" asked Ryan.
"I have my ways Ryan," said Jimmy.
The Type 10 drove up the parking lot and then out the hatch came the commander. "Hello everyone, I'm Chono Ami of the JGSDF."
She moved to the front of the students. "I was tricked," said Saori.
"She's looks pretty cool," said Hana.
"She's the special instructor for the Sensha-Do Training Unit," said Momo.
"Nice to meet you all," said Ami. "I heard there was a lot of people here who are doing Sensha-Do for the first time, but let's do the best we can." She then noticed Miho, "Wait? Aren't you the daughter of instructor Nishizumi? Th instructor has done a lot for me. Is your sister doing well?" she asked.
"Yes," said Miho.
"Nishizumi?" wondered some of the girls.
"She's famous?"
"Nishizumi School is the Sensha-Do school with the longest history," said Ami.
Saori then raised her hand, "Instructor? Are you really popular with guys?"
"Huh? Not so much popular, so much as I always hit the target I aim for. I have a kill rate of 120 percent," said Ami.
"Speaking of guys," said Ami giving her attention to the two boys. "I heard you two will be the first guys in Sensha-Do."
"Yes ma'am," said Ryan.
"Will you go on a date with me?" asked Jimmy.
"Sorry you're not my type," said Ami making Jimmy sulk. "Now while I don't mind boys in the sport just beware that most of the SDF doesn't think like I do," said Ami.
"We will be one our best behavior," said Ryan.
"Good boy," said Ami.
"Instructor, what will we be practicing today?" asked Yukari.
"Hmm, how about a real mock battle," said Ami.
"Can we do that?" asked Yuzu.
"You need to gain experience," said Ami.
"Aw, but we don't have a tank yet," said Emma.
"Guess we will have to ride with some of you all, said Ryan.
"Hey volleyball team can I ride with y'll?" asked Jimmy.
"No!" they all said as they were kind of mad at him still.
"Emma why don't you go with Anzu, I'll go with Miho," said Ryan.
"That's fine Ryan," said Miho.
Then they heard the sound of a helicopter coming. They all looked up to see a. It was a Boeing CH-47 Chinook heading there way. In the nearby field it began to descend and making it's landing. The Arrow Strike Logo on the side.
"What's Arrow Strike doing here?" asked Yuzu.
"No idea," said Anzu.
The Helicopter landed and out came two men. One in a US Marine Corp officer's uniform the other US Army officers Uniform.
"Dad!" said Emma recognizing her father running up to him giving him a hug.
"Hello Emma," said Tsuneo with a little chuckle returning the hug.
"Captain," said Miho, "why are you here?"
"Hey Dad," said Ryan.
"Official business and to see my kids real quick, who is the president of the student council," he called.
"That would be me," said Anzu walking up with the rest of the student council.
Making quick introductions to one another, "You three are also the one that try to force Miho into Sensha-Do," he said with a small glare scaring them a little. "However, that is forgiven for now."
Giving them a sigh of relief, "what brings you to our school Captain?" asked Anzu.
"Arrow Strike would like to make a donation to your Sensha-Do program," said Tsuneo.
"What kind of donation?" asked Anzu a bit excited.
"A tank and an instructor," answered Tsuneo.
"Really, who the instructor?" said Anzu.
"That would be me Ms., Captain Allen Dirk US Army," said Allen.
"President we already have an instructor," said Momo.
"Oh I don't mind," said Ami, "so long as he understands that this is my operation."
"Of course Ma'am," said Allen.
"What about the tank?" asked Anzu.
Tsuneo pulled out a clipboard with paperwork, "just sign this and the tank is all yours."
Anzu took the clipboard and read it all as fast and best she could. Then put her signature on many dotted lines.
"All yours," said Tsuneo taking the clipboard. He then talked into his radio piece, "Sarah, Jerome, drop the package."
"Roger that," said Sarah.
"Prepare to drop package Jerome," said Sarah as she began to defend the C5 Galaxy.
"Yes Ma'am," said Jerome.
As they got closer, "now Jerome," said Sarah as he released the Pershing.
"Package delivered Captain," said Jerome.
"Confirmed," said Tsuneo on the ground.
The Pershing Tank with Parachutes coming out of its backside came out of the C5.
It made a landing in the drop zone in the field.
"Wow a M26 Pershing," said Yukari, "starting production as early as 1942, it did not enter service until 1944 after the Battle of the Bulge."
"Yukari your drooling," said Hana.
"Oh, sorry," said Yukari.
"Is this really for us," said Emma, "thanks Dad."
"No problem this should give you school a better fighting chance," said Tsuneo.
"Thank you Captain," said Miho.
"If I may Captain," said Ami, "I must inspect the tank to make sure it's up to regulation."
"Of course Captain," said Tsuneo.
"Captain Allen, you mind accompanying me," said Ami.
"Of course," said Allen going along with her.
Both of them got into the tank, "so Captain Chono…" said Allen.
"Call me Ami, Captain Dirk," said Ami.
"I will if you will call me Allen," said Allen.
"I prefer that name anyway," said Ami.
"After we're done here, would you care to um well, j-join me tonight for some… food?" asked Allen.
"I'd love too," said Ami.
Outside the tank everyone was waiting for them to come out. "Mmm, I'm going to ask Captain Allen," said Saori.
"I think Instructor Chono was looking at him already," said Hana.
"Huh," said Saori.
"Think she's right, both of them seem to have that gleam," said Jimmy.
"Wonder what they're doing in there?" asked Emma.
"Making out," said Anzu.
"President!" exclaimed Momo.
"Eh!" said Miho turning red.
All the other girls began to gossip. "Come now everyone, their on the job it be unprofessional," said Ryan.
'Still the same for young ones,' thought Tsuneo.
"Captain Asuka, there's a call for you sir," said the pilot in the Chinook.
Tsuneo went aboard the pilots radio, "this is Asuka," he spoke into the radio.
"What? I see General. Understood sir," said Tsuneo. "Well you three I must be going," he said.
"Aw, you have to go already," said Emma disappointed.
"You're a big girl now Emma, besides you have Miho and Ryan here," said Tsuneo patting her on the head.
"Where are you going now?" asked Miho.
"The US Embassy in Tokyo, they want to speak with me," said Tsuneo.
"Diplomatic stuff?" asked Ryan.
"Yep, hope it's not some high end party they want me to go to," said Tsuneo.
The Chinook took off as the three of them waved goodbye.
At this moment Allen and Ami came out of the Pershing. "Alright then, let's get to the mock battle," said Ami pulling out a map, "Get to starting locations," said Ami.
"If any of you have questions, ask," said Allen.
"So who gets the Pershing?" asked Momo.
"Ryan can have it," said Anzu.
"Wooo weee," said Jimmy already running to the tank.
"Miho you sure you don't want the Pershing?" asked Ryan.
"No you can have it, I prefer the Panzer IV," said Miho.
"Thanks," said Ryan.
"Yea let's go Ryan," said Emma as both of them ran to the tank.
All three of them climbed into the tank.
"I'll dirve," said Jimmy.
"Can I have the gun Ryan?" asked Emma.
"Sure, I guess I'll have to do loading, radio, and commander," said Ryan hoping he can do this.
Meanwhile the other teams were getting ready. Rabbit team was loading ammunition, and it was kind of heavy.
Azusa was struggling with some of the rounds. "A little help," she asked her friends.
Ayumi and Aya went to help their friend, still they had lots of ammunition to load into their tank.
"Hey!" called a fpreign voice. Rabbit team looks to see the big tall boy, though he decided to shave, "do you lassies need help?"
Not wanting to turn down help they all nodded yes. Bram walked over and began to help them load ammunition. "Say is there a team I can join, I decided to join Sensha-Do?" he asked.
"Umm, the Pershing still needs another person," suggested Azusa.
"Thank you little rabbit," said Bram.
Ryan was inspecting his Pershing, "ammunition check, fuel check," said Ryan, "alright lets go," he ordered.
Emma and Jimmy got into their tank, they were F team. Ryan was about to climb into the hatch.
"Hey Ryan lad, can I join," said Bram running up.
"Can you load for Emma?" he aksed.
"Sure thing laddie," said Bram.
"Get in," said Ryan.
Bram climbed into the Pershing, now a crew of four.
Hope you all enjoyed that, will come out with a PT of training. Do not worry Miho will pilot a plane in the upcoming tournament as I already made basic plot of the Arrow strike Tournament, but first Miho and Tsuneo must clear up the family animosity first. Now what should Ryan's team name be? I was thinking they'd be called Alamo team, since they will be facing all girls who will look at them with dismay being the only boys, Alamo would be a team of defiance to the end, but if you all have a better name, please shoot me a suggestion.
