Nymphlopedia
Entry 1: Force Nymphs
Beginning AN:
Let's start this list off with a bang!
(Semi-)Appropriate song: M3chanical C0n D4mnation.
BOOM!
Both Vince and Sonata took off running. Sonata screaming at the top of her lungs as she, of course, managed to avoid tripping on the twisting glowing pinkish vines and ran forth through the bright forest that... frankly almost looked like something out of the inside of an alien spaceship. That was not how Vince would have described the Energy Forest at first, he at first found it looking cool and neat, and pleasant.
Explosions were set off to their lefts and to their rights, yet it wasn't even the blasts they were afraid of. It was the person causing them.
Said person landed right in front of them and grabbed Sonata by her neck, holding her up. Her body glowed off of the moon light and the bulbs around her, skin turning from an ashey pale shade to a flushed fuchsia as killing intent entered her eyes. Not even Vince or Sonata were horny enough to let her supermodel-esque figure distract them from the death glare she gave the sword-gathering Nymph.
"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE TRESSPASSERS!" She shouted. "YOU! HUMAN! You are already condemned to full captivity for invading our lands! And you! Nymph! TRAITOR! I know you are an accomplis! Don't even bother pulling the 'Oh, this is just my prisoner I am escorting' cliche! I can SMELL it! You two are friends!"
Sonata coughed.
"...Fuck you're good at this." She weakly said.
The Force Nymph let her go and drop to the ground. Sonata gasped for air.
"Oh, really, huh? Nobody ever complimented me on my combat before. The others here were usually scared shitless of me. And for a good reason." She shrugged.
"Y-y-yeah!" Vince caught on and tried rolling with it. "And your explosions! They were very... close to blowing my face off!"
"Hee hee, yeah they were!" That finally got the first smile out of her that either of them had seen. "Well! You two seem to appreciate an excellent general when you see one! I might just let you off with a warning..."
Sonata dusted herself off, straightened herself, and cleared her throat. "Oh, I'm just scratching the surface! So, I'm actually looking to build up a Naked Empire! I'm looking around all the biomes to see if any other fellow nudists want to join! Want to join? Vince over here, yes, he's my friend, but he was supposed to be like a... lawyer? Guy? Or something. I'm here for a purely diplomatic reason."
She put a hand on her chin. "You know what? We're so fucking terrifying that people rarely tresspass, so what's one general down when we still have thousands? Alright, I'll look in to it! You left a positive first impression on me, so if I decline your offer, I will not do so in a manner that involves sending a ten-page long letter littered with vulgarity!"
"Alright!" Said Sonata. "I think..."
Force Nymphs.
Energy Forests, moreso than most biomes, had been harvested as power sources by the greedy. The Nymphs that are tied to that biome... object to this. Quite explosively, figuratively and literally. For a while, they had imposed a strict ban on any non-Nymph races from entering.
Preferred Environment: Energy Forest.
Environment Threat Level: Calm, so long as the Energy Bulbs are not directly provoked. (However, Energy Forests are noteworthy in traditionally having a strong Nymph protection force around them, enough to arguably bump up the threat level to Severe.)
Environment Stats: Warm. Dry. Fantastic. Rare.
Other Names: Force Nymphs, Bomb Nymphs, Explosion Nymphs.
Affinity: Fire.
Color: Bright Fuchsia.
Traditional Costume Weapon: Glowing rings entirely around the arms and legs, they can fire pockets of energy that detonate violently. In effect, their main weapon creates explosions.
Vince's Description: THIS nature spirit type has hated humans a LOT, and for a LONG time! I wasn't expecting people so in-tune with nature to be that... militaristic! Their bombs could give our local Demolitionist Tordak a run for his money! Still, it was thrilling... finally taking on a Nymph general for the first time in my life. I found that a rush, but only because I won. I do not want to do it again, and I do not want to fight Impetua again! Ah- GENERAL Impetua!
Also, screw the Terra Tank.
Sonata's Description: Nymphs and Satyrs linked with this biome like blowing shit up. If you can get past that, they make really good friends, and really nice bodyguards. Also, sorry if this sounds racist, but it seems like the angrier one of them is on the surface, the more they just want a girlfriend or a boyfriend. So, yeah.
Tania's Description: Force Nymphs.
Nymphae Gravitas.
The general rule of thumb with the Energy Forests is that the brighter a bulb or plant glows, the stronger its explosion will be. Their patron Nature Warriors are no different. Glowing lines may indicate that they are in a way infused with technology, cybernetic to some degree, but this is false. However, this does raise the question as to how "unnatural" technology really is. Despite being the last of the Surface Warriors, I have no hatred for technology. I live in homes, usually made of fallen trees, without complaining... TOO MUCH, VINCE. ACORNS, PLANT THEM. I digress, I had always been invested in the mixture of technology and nature, as long as the former does not harm the latter. I view this biome as a model for what the Error could have been, had it been coded with competence.
Closing AN:
Yeah a few of these are pretty much taken heavily from the Run: .GIFocalypse deans, because let's see you try to come up with 100+ new characters without recycling other characters?! Anyway, this is pretty much the "Dove Nymph," so if you've read the old .GIFocalypse and hated how much spotlight Dove got near the end, congrats, she's already done and out of the way. Nymphs from before might cameo but this won't be like Joy Roy where every single one of them would pop in later, no, that would be ridiculous. Besides, the mini stories aren't in chronological order anyway.
"Where's Tania in the story?" This story happens before Vince and Sonata meet her. Quite a few of them do, at least for the first twenty-five.
