It was like any other day in Feudal Japan. Sango was traveling with her friends to find the fragments of the Shikon Jewel. It had been a few days since what happened with that drunken mist. Sango pretended that she didn't remembered what happened, since she couldn't stop thinking about how she almost kissed Inuyasha. She wondered why he didn't push her away. It looked like as if he was...shy about it. Sango shook her head. No, Inuyasha loves Kagome...does he? Inuyasha was the type of guy who wasn't open with his feelings unless he needs to. Sango was sure that he loves Kagome. Maybe the reason why he didn't push her away was because he was in shock of what was happening. Although, Sango had to admit, she did had a crush on Inuyasha when she first met him, but when she found out Kagome loves him, she stayed away and ended up liking Miroku instead.

"There's the village!" Shippo exclaimed.

"Ah, I could use a good break," Kagome sighed.

Miroku nodded. "After what happened, we all need one."

"Keh, whatever," Inuyasha huffed.

It didn't took them long to get to the village. For some reason, the village looked too familiar to Sango. Up ahead, she could see a castle that had a crest that almost looked like a turtle. Then she remembered the Hamato Clan, the ninja village that she helped when they were being attacked by a demon. Sango smiled. She never thought that she'll be back in this village again. A lot of people stared at them, which was understandable because of how they stood out. After Miroku rented an inn for them to stayed at, a few women walked up to them, looking at her fiancé. They were wearing very elaborate kimonos and hair pieces. Sango knew right away they were nobles. Miroku turned as he gave them a flirtatious look.

"Ah my lovely ladies, what brings you here?" he asked.

"Are you the famous Monk Miroku?" one of the women asked.

Miroku chuckled. "Yes, I am! How could I be at your service? Could it possibly be that you all wanted to bear my child!"

The leachous monk put his arms over the womens' shoulders and slipped his hands down, caressing their bottoms. The women giggled as they rubbed their bodies against him. Kagome, Inuyasha, and Shippo looked at her, but Sango didn't took any notice of them. She glowered at her fiancé with clenched fists.

"We were wondering if you could tell us tales of your adventure."

"Of course!" Miroku turned to Sango. "Is it okay I can-"

"Do what you want!" Sango spoke coldly. "I don't care."

Without any hesitation, Miroku and the women turned as they walked away, laughing their hearts desired. Sango let out a sigh and Kagome put a hand on her shoulder. Sango gave her a smile of assurance. In the corner of her eyes, she noticed Inuyasha was staring at her and looking very pissed off. It looked like he wanted to punch the living hell out of Miroku.

When they got inside, they settled down for a few minutes and ate their meals in silence. Miroku didn't come back, obviously. Kagome and Shippo finished first and the two got out as they walked around the village, leaving Sango and Inuyasha alone. Sango nibbled on her food.

"Why do you put up with him?" Inuyasha suddenly asked.

Sango stopped and looked at her friend. She knew who he was referring to. Sango narrowed her eyes and pursed her lips. She never thought that she'll have this kind of conversation with Inuyasha. She always tried to keep it to herself.

"I love him," Sango simply said. "Houshi-sama's my fiancé. It's just a coping mechanism. He'll change."

Inuyasha scoffed. "You sure, Sango? If you were my woman, I would never do that to you."

Sango sputtered and blushed. Her heart beat rapidly as her old feelings for her friend arise. She knew Inuyasha could be blunt sometimes, but this was too blunt of him. She was actually glad Kagome wasn't here to hear what he just said.

"Inuyasha!" Sango scolded.

Inuyasha raised a brow. "What? I was being honest."

"Wh-What about Kikyo?" Sango asked.

Inuyasha sighed. "Kikyo is a clay doll now. Not the real woman who I used to love. Besides, that was fifty years ago. The past stays in the past. I moved on and fell for someone else. Someone who couldn't be compared to Kikyo."

Sango nodded. She knew that someone else was Kagome. It was obvious the two love each other. Although, Sango did felt bad how almost everyone associated with Kikyo compared Kagome to her. She wondered if Kagome had her past life memories, she wondered how things might be different.

"I just want to make amends to Kikyo," Inuyasha added. "and make up what happened in the past, if only Kagome lets me."

"Had you tried talking to her?" Sango questioned.

"I tried. She just use sit on me. Besides, there a lot of things I do wanted to tell her. She just doesn't trust me."

Sango winced. She didn't like how Kagome use sit all the time on Inuyasha. She would understand if it's something Inuyasha was doing something so stupid and reckless, but using it all the time was out of hand. Sango wondered what were other things Inuyasha wanted to tell Kagome. Whatever it was, hopefully he would tell her soon enough.

Sango sighed. "It looks like we have love troubles, huh?"

"Keh, you think?" Inuyasha grunted.

Sango giggled and to her surprise, Inuyasha let out a soft chuckle. Sango couldn't help and be surprised by this. She had heard Inuyasha laugh before, but it was more like gloating at his enemies. This was different. It was like he loosened up and relax. Sango wished he relax more often. Then Inuyasha smiled. Sango couldn't help it, but be bewildered by his actions today. Inuyasha's smile was gentle and caring. She couldn't help, but hear her beating heart when he smiled like that. She wondered if he give those smiles to Kagome. Sango never saw him smile like that around Kagome, but she was sure that Inuyasha was just embarrassed to show this other side of him.

"Do you really think Miroku will change?" Inuyasha questioned.

Sango looked at him. She opened her mouth and stopped. She always thought that he would change ever since they got engaged. They just gotten engaged not too long ago and Miroku was still womanizing and asking every woman he came across to bear his child. As much as Sango knew it was a coping mechanism, she knew that Miroku wouldn't sleep with another woman. She trust him enough not to do that. However, deep down, she didn't like to think that he would do that and was scared that he might. She was sure he was loyal enough not to sleep with someone. Every time Sango would think about that part, she would block it from her mind and pretend that Miroku was loyal.

"Yes, I do," Sango smiled.

Inuyasha nodded. "Okay, but if he doesn't, I'm just going to beat the living shit out of him."

Sango rolled her eyes as she finished her last grain of rice. It was probably something Inuyasha would do anyway. Sango drank her tea as the inn attendance took their empty plates away. When she was done, she and Inuyasha walked out of the inn as they explored around the village.

Sango woke as someone was shaking her. Her eyes opened and saw her Aunt Karai. Her aunt giggled and helped her up. Yawning, Sango rubbed her eyes. She didn't thought she'll be dreaming of her memories again. Sango was glad it was a good one. She touched her hand at her chest, feeling the fast drumming of her heart. The memory of talking to Inuyasha made her blush. She didn't expected to remember such memory. Even though she did liked Inuyasha at one point, a part of her wondered what would've happened if Inuyasha chose her instead of Kagome and Kikyo. Would she still died? Would he be able to reincarnate with her? The more she thought about it, the more she realized how much Inuyasha respected her than Miroku did. He even opened up to his feelings about Kikyo more than he did to Kagome.

Then she grimaced as she remembered how she kept blocking the thought of Miroku's potential disloyalty to her. As much as Sango hated to question her former fiancé's loyalty, she was sure there was a good chance that Miroku did slept with another woman. If he did, Sango wouldn't be surprised. In fact a part of her wished that she didn't fell for that monk! All she wanted was a man who wouldn't cheat and stay loyal to her. That was all she could've asked for! Was that too much to ask?! Sango wished that she could've given her crush on Inuyasha a chance. Instead, she pushed it aside because her best friend was in love with him.

"Sango?" Shinigami put a hand on her shoulder.

Sango turned to her aunt and smile. "I'm fine, Auntie Shini!"

Her aunt nodded, but it looked like she wasn't convinced. As Sango looked out of the window, she saw they were in Tokyo. Even though they were at the airport, but from the distance, Sango could see the city was big. Sango took her backpack, while her aunts carried her luggage. When they got to the exist, Sango paused, and sniffed. The air was familiar. Even though Japan wasn't like it was before, but the air was too familiar. Hesitantly, Sango walked down the steps. When she set her feet on the ground, a familiar blistering pain caused her to gasped. Her belly was screaming as it remembered the fatal wounds she got when she died. Sango fell onto her knees, clutching her body, and shook. Tears formed in her eyes.

"Sango!" her aunts shouted.

"Sango, are you okay?" Aunt Karai asked.

"A-Airplane sickness," Sango stuttered.

Shinigami took her backpack, while Karai held her in her arms. Sango held onto her aunt tightly as she bit her lip. She felt like she was dying again. Sango knew she wasn't, but the memories of her death just made her wanted to scream. In out, in out! Sango thought. Sango breathed heavily, trying to get herself under control, but the pain continued. Then she passed out in Karai's arms.
